Buck's Bar in Glasgow City

We visited bucks bar for the first time and we were quite impressed, My fiancé had the salt and chilli chicken burger with salt and chilli chips and he really enjoyed it , I had popcorn chicken with salt and chilli chips and I thought it was really good we both enjoyed it as it had plenty of flavour the portions were massive and we were really full however we wanted to try the shakes so We had a caramel shake and a Nutella shake and they were both also massive and very filling they were really nice but we probably should have got one to share 🤣 The staff were also quite friendly overall we enjoyed it here and would visit here again .

In my opinion 3 pieces of chicken served on a soggy bit of white bread on a small plate is not value for money, the staff were lovely but food not great

Cracking spot for some grub! Cocktails are good too. A regular stop for me and the lads. Would recommend a visit for a quick bite or some drinks.

Order from here tonight and it was terrible! Chips were beyond soggy, wings were dry with soggy onions put on the top with no flavour! Portion sizes were small which is not what I normally get. Use to be a lot better but feel like the Southside location is getting worst. I think it really depends who is in the kitchen if you get a decent meal or not.

Ideal place for really good food and a beer. The food is quick and really good, the choice is just what you need, not hunners of random stuff, beware of some of the hot stuff! Love going here, keep it up👍

The food is great, music is always good and the service is good also. The only thing that stops me from giving 5 stars is the gents toilets, which have been crammed into the tiniest space imaginable and are not great.

First time there and I will be going back a 2nd time.

First time in Bucks Bar in Glasgow and we’re not disappointed. Many told us to try it as food & portion sizes are insane . The chicken burgers were massive & tasty . Excellent service very friendly & attentive staff my only complaint is music a bit loud for little old me .

Food was amazing. 3 of the party got the chicken burger which was the biggest chicken burger I’ve ever seen, I got popcorn chicken & son had the pakora chicken. My son ordered a chocolate milk shake which was huge. Great decor & music . Staff were lovely & service very quick. Would loved to have been able to stay for the love music. Definitely recommend & if I’m ever back in Glasgow is be back. We booked our table as I think they get quite busy.

Went to Bucks bar West Regent St with my daughter for a meal and drinks prior to the Depeche Mode concert at the hydro. Wonderful staff, the service was excellent, the food was fantastic and the beer (Staropramen) was superb. Definitely be back. Well done guys.

Got a takeaway from it was wanting to see what all fuss was about this place got to say not really impressed about it overpriced basic chicken burger and fries that’s about it positives it was cooked buckora tasted likerubber chicken Mac n cheese tasteless just felt as though it was rushed out to get the order done

Great but noisy diner. Food good and staff really nice and very helpful. The music is loud but good..the booths are pretty narrow so breathe in! Chicken in buttermilk gluten free was really nice. Big portions.

We booked to sit inside but were packed outside in a very windy day. The parasols were swaying all over the place, the table was slanting down a hill and barely even able to sit anything on the table. The sign for bucks bar hit my partner in the back and hurt him quite badly. The food was mediocre but not worth the money.

Have been a few times and thought it was amazing but the super sweet sauce on my chicken was overpowering. I get the whole American chicken thing but this place is off my list from now on. PS get some plates, the basket trend is dead.

We were told we had an hour and 15 minutes from the time we booked from as we sat down 15 minutes late even though we arrived 5 minutes early. We were overcharged on our bill and told the money would be refunded inside a couple of hours however the next day there is still no pending transaction or money refunded to my account. We were rushed off our table while still finishing our £9 a peice cocktails. Phoned the next day to ask about the refund and was advised it was down to the bank and they couldn't help. Food was ok but overall I think the service was really bad. Bar staff quite rude when I called them the next day. Didn't live up to the hype and almost £80 for what you see in the photos. Gutted but wouldn't return, was much better when it used to be Jacker De Vande.

Massive portions of tasty food and a great service. Book ahead to avoid disappointment

We ordered as soon as we sat down as we knew what we wanted to eat before arriving. We were told 3 times during the meal how long we had left. I understand it's a busy time of the year but we were only there for an hour. We got asked to order our last round of drinks and dessert in the middle of eating after around half an hour of being there. We were very quick but it made us feel really uneasy and not enjoy the meal.

This place was so busy and we were walk ins, but they were happy to accommodate us and our server (think his name was Reece) was so friendly and welcoming. He made some great suggestions on food and drinks.

Went in tonight for a date with my fiancé and the atmosphere as soon as we walked in was amazing! We got seen to quite quickly and seated (I would recommend a booking if you intend to go as they can get quite busy) All the staff were amazing and very helpful in answering questions about the menu for both drink and food. The service was very fast and the food was amazing! The portion sizes are nothing to be scoffed at either! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great food place or if your a big burger or wings fan!

Food was OK, service was OK. Not blown away by the place. Guinness was horrendous! Served from cans using the gadget on the bar to pour, tasted foul, couldn't do anything about it because it came from a can they refused to change it!

First time at a Buck’s Bar, no booking as it was a spontaneous decision and it did not disappoint. Asked what table we wanted as it was quiet and got an awesome wee booth, cocktails were all grand and boozy (and cheap as it was 40% off!🤤), bar staff were all down to earth which I loved, and customer service was spot on, chicken was out of this world good, partner got the xx chicken and wasn’t spicy enough for him but the selection of hot sauces satisfied his needs, various dietary options (vegan/gf menu) and I got an all vegan boozy milkshake which was an absolute banger. Aww and the tunes were on point in this place. Just a 10 all round, thanks guys 🙏

The buttermilk chicken was very good indeed, crispy, flavoursome and not super greasy as can often be. The flamin' mac and cheese was very indulgent, uber cheesy and pasta had bite - not over cooked or over oily. The Green Tai curry wings were on the money. The house salad fresh and varied greens, and a fair size. The variety of hot sauces too was cool, just take it steady and have a drink nearby! The service was very good, the wait staff all good fun and attentive made for a very pleasant experience. Last but not least - the whole place has a super cool American Dive Bar vibe - the music was excellent all night (helps if you enjoy some classic rock!)... and who doesn't enjoy sampling the Alice Cooper 'No More Mister Nice Guy' special hot sauce on their chicken whilst that very track plays overhead...

Amazing food!!! Make sure you are hungry as the portions are massive. £3 drinks are a bargain and make up for the burgers being so expensive. Service was a little bit slow but they were super busy. Plus great singer on!

Great little restaurant. Good vibe, really friendly staff. Delicious wings (and a LOT of them). Also - spicy means SPICY here. The top level of heat they provided was definitely a 4 alarm bell chilli heat but with stacks of flavour. Can recommend the hash browns with the honey dipping sauce and the hazelnut alcoholic milkshake. Good music, too. Only problem? I was so full after the meal I needed someone to roll me up the steps back to street level....

Best chicken burger in Scotland if not the UK ! Awesome lunch , lovely staff and although I was in on a Monday afternoon with work it was a relaxed atmosphere . I think they have live music at the weekends. Braw choice of sauces to spice up your burgers too .👍

Such an exciting menu, and honestly so refreshing as a vegetarian to be able to pick any burger I fancy and have it made veggie. The actual veggie patty itself is so good too, unlike any I’ve had before.

Was expecting more from this venue, but was quite disappointed. Chicken was nothing special, a little tough if anything. Food generally came out luke-warm at best. Had the chocolate cake for desert, would not recommend — stodgy & freezing cold. General good vibe in the venue, even if service was a little slow. Drinks are good, so maybe visit just for that!

Make sure you go hungry huge portions great value food and drink, friendly efficient staff, good decor, the chicken burgers the size of a fish delicate coating with loads of flavours.

Quick service, Girl that served us was just learning, but she did a great job, and the girl helping her was very nice and didn't seem pushy either. The food was good, and massive portions couldn't finish it. Cocktails are very nice but very expensive considering 90% of the glass is crushed ice. Toilets were very clean looking and smelling, but very small. If you are on the larger side I would imagine it would be very difficult to go to the loo.

Food was the same as any other Buck's (not an insult), but service was too slow. Everything just took too long, and when we were done no one came with our bill for so long that I eventually had to get up and ask the bar if they could send someone over. The bartender was very polite which was appreciated.

The best chicken burgers in Glasgow. Services was so friendly and everything arrived promptly despite the restaurant being full. Our cocktails were delicious and there is a great selection including hard shakes. Portion sizes are great and you may struggle to finish everything but to go boxes are provided. The rock and roll vibe was perfect with lots of good music and excellent decor of band prints covering the walls. Can't fault this place and excited to go back again soon.

Visited after previously visiting the other premises at Trongate. Food is always on par and options available for even the fussiest of eaters. Would recommend phoning ahead and booking a table. Although happy to be seated after a walk in, being sat outside in a wind tunnel wasn't the greatest experience. Gladly received the warm food giving us a heat. Cocktails are decent but as summer ends was too cold to hang about outside. Will definitely be inside next time.
