Steak Inn in Glasgow City

Unfortunately I find this place has gone down hill significantly. Me and my husband have been regular visitors from when it first opened but I’d say from the past year it’s just not the same, the steaks have become smaller, the staff don’t seem very experienced in service and the lack of cleanliness of the toilets! Absolutely shocking. I went with my mother about a month or two ago and we booked a table for 5.30pm (opens at 4pm) the toilets had clearly not been cleaned from the night before and were disgusting to say the least. I had to hold my nose and watch where I stepped. The whole time the staff just standing about talking or sitting down on empty seats? Why not clean the filthy toilets. It’s gone down hill, staff has changed and it’s just not looked after like it was from the start.

Went for wife’s birthday meal amazing food, very helpful staff who were extremely accommodating and friendly a young man called David who worked there was especially kind and helpful really made the whole experience lovely, my wife was so happy he made her birthday extra special brought out a cake and everything ( made me look good! She thought it was all me) lol! . He was brilliant and would definitely go again amazing food and service!

First time coming back here in just over a year and was very disappointed with the whole experience. When you pay these sort of prices you expect a premium steak but this was far from it. Ordered lamb chops and garlic bread starter and both were very average. Fillet steak main was really bad, really fatty low quality meat and not cooked how we’d asked either. The sides of mash and pasta were also below par like something from a kids school dinner. Not what you expect for a £110 meal for two. Best thing about the meal was the sauce. Will not be coming back here in a hurry and definitely won’t be ordering the fillet steak

Excellent stakes and friendly staff. Though, their sauces seems not as thick as they used to be when I first tried it years ago. I hope they return to how they used to be.

Good food, portions are excellent. Nice wee twist to steak with a 'masala' component. Pretty unique, can't say I've had anything like it before... Good stuff!

Came here from Manchester, excellent service from Saif.. he ensured and git a tabel ready as quick as we can and looked after us well. The food was delicious and good portion size. Would definely visit again

We chose the fillet steak and sirloin. Both were very well seasoned and cooked to perfection! Tender, succulent and very tasty. The onions were also caramelised and delicious. The peppercorn sauce was great. Highly recommended indeed 👌

Worst service ever! Would not allow children to have their food from elsewhere (got their food from elsewhere dut to dietary requirements) Never been to a place so overrated.

Love the food here but they only take cash so bear that in mind.

We ordered the fiery wings and the dynamite prawns for starters. Succulent and juicy. Perfectly cooked. We both had the ribeye for mains. We ordered medium rare. It was medium rare. I enjoyed every bite and the whole experience.

Really good steak and excellent service!! We went for the rump and the lamb masala options - both cooked to perfection. Great service from Saif also. Will be back again for sure 🙌🏼

Nice food, although they disappointed by not taking card payments. They did allow bank transfer. Parking isnt the greatest. Quite busy road. The place was cold i have to say. On the pricey side for sure. The place is not big and rather small. Would recommend book in advance.

Lovely food one of the best steak houses around

I'm visiting from Canada, and I've been here two days in a row for dinner. Steak is freakin incredible, the sides are delicious and fresh. Everything is so flavorful, after days of pretty average food on the road, it's been a delight. Service is exceptional and the ambience is delightful. Highly, highly recommend for anyone visiting Glasgow.

I’ve been there with my bros for dinner and they are 100% halal. Inside atmosphere was decent though short space and lighting pretty dark. Well it was a bit loud while I visited maybe cause of less space! Their steak was undercooked tbh but later on they managed though. And yes had to wait for the drinks too long ( maybe they forgot or busy timing)😂. But later on they managed everything. Food taste was decent and their portions were pretty huge. I’d like to recommend them plz get more spice flavour (hot/medium/mild). It would be easy to choose, actually they didn’t ask for spice limits at all. Good and well behaved staff.

First time ate in here and won't be last. Luxury food. To be honest steak inn is by far the best. I haven't left any restaurant in Glasgow. After reading some views, i was a bit surprised. Steak inn is one of the top places to eat right now in Glasgow for sure. I've seen more crowded places, so i don't see any issue here in steak inn. Parking is not steak inns problem. How about walking?

We were greeted with the best halal steak on our first night in Glasgow! The perfect start to our trip. Highly recommend the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce and peri fries. Flavours not to be forgotten!

We were really looking forward to this and haven't been for years. Had a booking but had to wait a long time for a table , which is hard with kids but it's a busy place. Although it took some time to order and receive food, we really enjoyed it. The bad part was, we got our bill and never got the change back. The waiter assumed the tip was nearly £9 and took that choice away from us. This has never happened to us at any dinning establishment, and ruined our experience. We were planning to leave a good tip, but this was not the best end to our night. Waiters were either greedy or did not know the etiquette of giving the change back, for the diner to decide the tip. THIS IS NOT AMERICA WHERE A TIP IS MANDATORY. Overall food our very over priced for what it was, service was slow and cash-only adds another inconvenience. Ambience was noisey and very loud music. It was tight to walk around and when people block the aisles with buggies, it makes it a fire hazard. Only 1 toilet cubicle for male and 1 for female, which means you have to wait.

Decent steaks at a decent price, can’t really go wrong :)

I would like to thank the wonderful people at steak inn for dumping there rubbish on my street. It was such a lovely sight to come home from work too 🥰 Please next time use the bin that’s directly across the road to save me the effort. Ta x

I went in with high hopes, but unfortunately it wasn’t up to standard. Most of the steak was fat, and it was very tough to cut into. For a restaurant whose main dish is steak, I expected a better.

Efficient service and great taste ! Even bigger menu now with Masala Lamb Steak !!

Great food, great service, bit dark in there and very cramped for space especially if you are a big group. A bit expensive too.

Had the sirloin steak cooked medium with the house sauce and steak cut chips. Would really recommend. Steak was cooked well and the flavour was great. House sauce is good for dipping aswell so would recommend that too. The place is a little small so it does get busy but the servers have a good attention to detail and seem like the don't want to off themselves. Price is about what is to be expected.

Amazing staff and delicious food on time

Came to steak in was expecting a great service but unfortunately I didn’t as I saw staff cleaning boards with peoples used napkins, staff getting spoken to very disrespectfully in the back (can hear the chef screaming at the front), I noticed the staff not giving any time to open their iftaar which is really bad as they’re human being too, they probs don’t even get the tips. I’m very disgusted by it and will not be returning. Staff should be treated with respect as they are ur employees not some toys.

The masala lamb steak hit the spot and the mash has a creamy texture and the house sauce the best and all made fresh

I recently visited Steak-In for a dinner with my partner and had a terrible experience. I have to say that the restaurant was a huge letdown in multiple aspects. To begin with, we ordered lamb steak which turned out to be just average in taste. Poor taste of rice and pasta. However, the presentation of the food was different, like attention to detail, which is isn’t important overall if the food itself is in poor taste. Adding to our disappointment, we were not informed about the cash-only policy of the restaurant when we made our phone booking. This created a lot of inconvenience and we had to go out of our way to arrange cash for the meal. Moreover, there was no parking available, which was a major issue for us. We had to park far away and walk all the way to the restaurant, which was quite frustrating. Furthermore, the seating arrangements were so crowded that the staff could barely move properly. It felt like we were sitting on top of each other and it was a major distraction throughout our meal. We couldn't even enjoy our food properly because of the constant commotion around us. My final words would be Steak-In was a huge disappointment and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was just okay, the cash-only policy was inconvenient, and the lack of parking and crowded seating arrangements made for an unpleasant evening. It seemed like an overrated restaurant, and I question the authenticity of the reviews. I would never visit this restaurant again, even if it is free.

Food is average, including lamb steak was not propperly cooked, pasta was so awful like cooked in mud. No parking. I'm personally not recommend 😠

Food was excellent. Really enjoyed our meat and chicken steak. The staff were really friendly. It initially took a little time to get us seated but we really enjoyed our food. The diner is cash only but there is an ATM opposite. Peri chips were really salty but the staff kindly got us a plate of plain chips without extra charge so we were able to accompany our meal well. Will be visiting again.

Amazing steak served by friendly efficient staff. The restaurant was full on a wet Sunday evening in January, so definitely book in advance. Our table was ready for us as soon as we arrived and the atmosphere was great in the restaurant, which isn’t that big. Chicken wings to start followed by rib eye steak. Everything was delicious but the steak was so good I think it is probably the best steak I’ve ever had! Great to have this quality of food in a modern restaurant, served efficiently, with a great atmosphere. Well done ;-) Steak Inn! (My medium cooked steak was perfectly cooked)

I don’t recommend they don’t know how to cook steak properly. I asked for a medium it was well done and over cooked. It was hard unedible. Do not go here. Horrible experience and a waste of money. P

Only worth going if you don’t mind waiting a painfully long time to be seated and served. I have been here around 3 times and unfortunately will not be returning. 1. Timing and efficiency is super painful! Over half an hour to be seated. Each of the three times we came here we had booked a table in advance but had to wait 30-45 minutes to be seated. I took a note of timings: - 42 mins late to seat us at a table - 7.30 booking ; 8.12 seated; - Order taken at 8.19: waiter was friendly - We received drinks at 8.39 - Food was served at 8.49 (this is over an hour after our booking! - 9pm check if food is ok- and ordered another set of drinks 2. Quality of food vs value for money - the lamb shank was fall off the bone tender and packed with flavour - so quite tasty. However the portions seemed significantly smaller yet more expensive than our last visit. We can blame the cost of living crisis for this one. - not enough peri salt on chips but they happily provided more - chicken steak was meh - lamb steak was fine but ‘a bit of a bump’ -small bottles of Coke and fizzy drinks are sitting at over £3.25. 3. Ambience - the restaurant was overcrowded and we felt very claustrophobic with so many people packed in the waiting area (this wouldn’t be as much of an issue if the wait wasn’t so long). - the waiters are generally friendly, polite and quite helpful. - you can however see the difference in customer service with a lot of tables overlooked a select couple given extra special attention. - we didn’t have much engagement with our waiters who seemed swept off their feet and we didn’t have the same one from start to finish. One was quite grumpy with us by the end of the night. 4. Overall recommendation. Would suggest you save your money and your time and go elsewhere. For us the wait and service + value for money is not quite worth the slightly above average (and seemingly increasingly stingy) food which in itself earned the single star. P.S trip 2 which put us off going there for over a year was caused by finding a meat bone in the House slaw (very confusing, gross and SO many questions). We have now resolved again to not go back.

Food was delicious , have already recommended to friends and family. Service was friendly and helpful. Only would like them mention that meat is halal on their website .

Good place in Glasgow to enjoy steaks, a bit expensive but quality justify the price

Excellent quality steaks from sirloin to T bone with a good choice and adequate portion of sides and sauces. A shame the recent prices have risen! Only improvement to make is that we booked a table for a particular time but had to wait a little short while for it to be vacated for our slot - limited seating available. They have a sister desserts parlour next door who have a good selection of the usual desserts and served promptly, but sadly gave me the wrong milkshake (asked for Kinder Bueno but given Ferrero).

I’ve been treated to this place by my sister and although expensive the food is lovely until I took my fiend in for their birthday. I ordered the same as before but it came with minimum veg and the steak was much smaller. End of the meal we waited for our change as it was cash only, but after waiting 10 mins we never got it, it was over £3. I called a couple of days later to speak to the manager who was also the owner. After leaving several messages Atif the Owner finally called back making excuses of family taking up his time, and saying he’d “sort it”. I sent him the photos of the meals I’ve had in the past and the most recent one and asked if he could confirm in writing what he proposed to do. I never received a reply. I’d be careful as it’s cash only. I’m a single mum and not got a lot of money especially now with the cost of living sky high, you’d think this person would have some compassion and even offer our change back. He also owns the dessert place What the Fudge next door and a few places around the area. I won’t be going back and I certainly will be warning my friends and family.

My first visit and a great experience. The steak was cooked as I'd ordered. The service was iutstanding and all staff were very polite. I'd definitely return to the Strak Inn.

Always have chicken burger or chicken steak. No fault with food, service has always been great over the last few years I’ve visited, but my last 2 visits this November saw the service sadly slipping away, tables were booked and was made to wait, 1st time I left. 2nd time I was made to wait, then service was slow, it was busy but food was served with no cutlery, it was stressful as I had other engagements after here, I just hope this is not the beginning of the end of me coming here, which will be a shame as this is one of my top 3 food joints in Glasgow. Hopefully the manager who is great person gets the house in order soon. 3 stars purely for the drop in service, hopefully this is a one off. If it improves after my next visit I will update this review to reflect. Update:12 Dec returned to steak inn for a meal Saturday night, got seated immediately and order taken and food arrived in decent time aswell as food was really good, so updating my review back to 5 stars as the service is back to normal again. Update October 2022- moved to 4 stars as the card machine hasn’t worked for months and they only accept Cash, in this day and age when many don’t carry cash, this is a service every restaurant should provide as a bare minimum now,

Came in a group and Ordered a lamb steak it came on a sizzler plate which really surprised me never had a steak with fried onions and steak does not belong on a sizzler, which did not go very well, kinda ruined the taste buds, also ordered a lamb shank and that too came on a sizzler plate, lamb shanks don’t belong on a sizzler plate not sure who came up with this idea, but overall all the other sides etc was on point

Travelled all the way from Sheffield to try this place , was kinda disappointed by the lamb shank I ordered it came in a sizzler plate which I've never ever seen before, Gordon ramsey would have a mental break down if he saw a lamb shank being served like that

Great atmosphere and lovely food. Booked in advance so didn't need to wait. Glad I did was busy especially for a Monday. Dynamite prawns for starters. Steaks were done perfectly. Soft and succulent. Good night out with the misses.

Good points: Very nice steak and sides. Shop very busy, call and book table in advance. Bad points: Cash only. Music very very loud. Shop ambience not very nice, feels very stuffed and small. One of the steaks was perfectly cooked but very hard to cut and chew, most of it went in the bin. Maybe I was just unlucky or they using cheaper meats.

Ambiance and food were really good. Nice portions as well. However, they failed to inform us that they’re accepting only cash. They wrote this information on a small piece of paper on the door and could not see this because there were people covering it as I entered the restaurant. Finally managed to pay them, but it was hugely inconvenient. If you are accepting only cash due to your machine not working— that is understandable, but you need to inform us again in person in addition to having the sign instead of telling us at the end of the meal.

Had the classic beef burger which is cooked to perfection - so juicy and the right amount of tenderness, still with a bit of a bite to it! The vibe is relaxed and can suit friends, couples and families. Visited many times so it will be a staple for me if I want a good steak or gourmet burger!

We visited this place after reading the views.We were in Scotland for a few day's.It was a fantastic experience, the food was delicious & could not fault it.It was very fresh & spot on in terms of spice.The steaks were cooked to perfection & customer service was brilliant.If you are in Glasgow give this place a try on Victoria rd.

Travelled from Livingston to Visit this place tonight for the first and we were not disappointed. The flavour and seasoning of the food was on point. The service was also amazing with the manager being extremely helpful. Definitely recommend this place.

Much better steaks this time round. Unfortunately they mixed up the portions of sides and how well we wanted our steaks. Also they mistook an order which took longer.

Booked a table in advance so didn't need to wait very long for a table. Was busy being a Saturday. Starters were very tasty, elegantly presented. Mains I had the chicken steak with house sauce, rice and house slaw. All nicely presented and tasted 👌. No negatives. Had a great night. Great food and good company.

Heard a lot about this place and it certainly lives up to the hype. Really good steak place. Got to be one of the best I’ve had. Steaks cooked to liking and very flavorful. Sides and sauce just as good. Tentative staff. Busy place, so book in advance.

So i ordered The Louisiana Burger and my partner ordered Butterfly Chicken Steak with side of spicy rice and peri chips. My partner is very picky with his food and I expected a bad review from him but surprisingly he loved it. On the other hand the burger i ordered was lovelyyyyy!!! The food was great. The staff was great. Worth the money. The only thing that was not so great was the sitting as it was very crowded and congested.

Food was very delicious !! Butterfly chicken and lamb steak were cooked to perfection .. really enjoyed dinning into this restaurant. Staff are friendly and attentive. The only reason not to give a 5 star review was the long waiting time. Like when you reserve a table according to the time given to you by manager you expect to be seated down as soon as you walk in, but still had to wait 30 minutes for a table. Apart from that, really enjoyed our Dinner.

If you want desi, okish quality steak with huge side portions then I'd give this place 5 stars. For me personally however when I am paying £20+ for a piece of steak, I want to taste and enjoy the meat as it is, not so heavily seasoned in desi spices. I asked for medium and unfortunately got a well done steak. The iron platters look nice but are not practical to eat in at all especially when the sides are served on there too. Quite a squashy place not the best ambience.

The butterfly chicken is amazing and my go to each time! The side as are also great, I love the pasta. The blueberry drink was incredible and so refreshing. I will definitely be back. Came on a Tuesday afternoon so it was quite quiet and service was fast. But in the past ive waited over an hour for my order when its been busier. Really love this place!

Rude staff. Asked for a table change (before starting meal) and they told us the other table is booked but restaurant closed in half an hour. Very unprofessional.

Overall quite nice. I wish they stopped putting the steak on sizzling platters. My medium rare steak cooked all the way till it was well done because the plate was so hot it kept cooking the steak. I love the sides, always spot on. Pricey, but overall a nice meal.

The steak Inn was really nice... I got the rib eye steak with chips and mushrooms as an extra on top with the garlic and mushroom sauce. The steak.... was cooked to perfection. I asked for it rare and thats how it came. It was basted to perfection. The buttery peppery goodness just melted in the mouth. Absolutely could not fault the steak at all. The mushroom and garlic sauce was delicious as well. So this was my only slight drawback and I mean slight.... I asked for chips with my steak, options are chips, rice or salad. The steak comes out on a hotplate however as i'd asked for it rare I can understand why it wasn't directly on the hotplate and it was placed on top of my chips. It just meant that the juice from the steak made my chips a little soggy but again I can understand why it came out like that given I'd asked for it rare. So maybe if you're like me and you like chips crispy maybe ask for them on a separate plate. Otherwise everything was spot on and reasonable priced for steak in comparison to most steak houses. Rib eye was £24. The service... was fantastic, the host was super friendly all staff were really attentive and made us a recommendation for the dessert stores next door and nearby. Would definitely go back, best steak I've had in a while. Oh....and the house slaw was absolutely magic if you like slaw this is a must!!

Omg 😲 the food was amazing 😋 My husband and I had the butterfly chicken, mine came with green peppercorn sauce, it was so tasty and moreish. The best I have ever had. It also came with caramelised onions which sizzled as they brought the food to us on a hotplate. My husband was equally amazed at the flavours and he definitely wants us to come back. My kids had steak burgers which they thoroughly enjoyed. The portions size is generous. I forgot to take photos as I was busy concentrating on the food 🤦‍♀️, however I shall update this with pictures next time I go 😉 Happy dining peeps 😍
