Chop Grill & Bar in Glasgow City

One of the worst services Iv ever received the bar man on duty that looks like sonic don’t want to be there slamming around moaning about his work but they services charges a bill the place wasn’t even busy because he made the atmosphere non existent with his bad attitude

The restaurant is very nice and modernly decorated. The service was absolutely friendly! Very dog ​​friendly! Which is apparently very rare in Glasgow (especially in the center)! And the food, in a word, delicious! It should also be mentioned that you can get something to eat here until 10 o'clock in the evening, as we found that it is difficult to get something to eat after 8 in Scotland.

What an awesome first Chop experience in Glasgow and what a gorgeous location! It was my first night in the city and Steven took great care of me. He made some yummy recommendations and one of the best Negroni’s I’ve ever had! :) The hospitality from the entire team was awesome. Chef Will came out to say hi and both him and Steven gave me some great recommendations on where to go enjoy the city afterwards. I had a great night out because of them! Came back for breakfast the next morning and everything was perfect again! The male host/server at the front was very friendly and personable. Made me feel right at home! And my first Scottish breakfast was awesome! Thanks again for the great food, ambiance, and most importantly - hospitality! I’ll be back again for sure :)

Bartender seems overwhelmed. I have seen several taps break and several plates of food sent back. The atmosphere is pretty impersonal. The staff do not seem happy to be here.

I loved this place. My wife and I had the Pre-Theater Prix Fixe meal & could not have been happier. We both had a starter, she had a Caesar Salad & Haggis Bon Bon's. Both were great. We had the BBQ 1/2 Rack of ribs, and we shared a desert. All in all, very nice meal! The service was spot on, too! Highly recommend.

All great ingredients for a really good breakfast but it was COLD. The lidded containers just didn’t keep the food warm. Staff busy but very helpful.

The barman (slightly overweight, tattoos and nose ring) is a natural, give that man a rise. Good food, I would return. Not much imagination used for the music which sounded like the same track played on a loop.

Had dinner here as it was recommended by a friend. Food was great and so were the cocktails. The waiter/manager Steven had some great recommendations and they all hit the spot. We will definitely go back.

The reviews made it appear more sophisticated than it was. I booked a visit for my anniversary and on first impressions I knew I made a mistake as there was people in work clothes standing & drinking at the bar etc definitely wasn’t what I was expecting. Nonetheless the staff were very friendly although the table next to us stood with empty glasses & plates for longer than it should have. Food was average and fairly priced, central location although the roadworks outside made it a nightmare to get to

1/3 of the food on the website menu is currently unavailable as they have decided to limit the menu while they are new but doesn’t say this online. What my mum wanted wasn’t available. They said they would then try make it anyway but it still wasn’t what it was advertised on menu and really not great. They forgot to add chicken to the Caesar salad and so much dressing it was almost inedible. Starters all came up at different times. So 2 people finished before last one came out. Wrong wine brought out. We opened it as didn’t think to check .because we opened and poured it they wouldn’t refund it but apologised and said they would take £10 off the wine that we did want. Steak bits were pretty chewy. Burger was very average. Haggis Bon Bon’s were ok. Chicken breast was like a frozen birdseye, But the ribs were actually quite nice. Card machine playing up so took ages to pay bill Our waiter ‘kev’ was very good he apologised on all the mistakes and kept a smile all night. he was the only waiter on tonight and really tried his best. Unfortunately we won’t be back

Stayed at the Sandman Signature Hotel and decided to stay in for dinner as it was a busy night for local restaurants with Christmas parties. Great choice! The steak starter was cooked to perfection and so was the main course, Filet Steak. Great service and excellent food.

Food was average at best. The peppercorn sauce is probably the worst I've ever had, it had a very strong vinegar taste to it. Shame about the food because the service was lovely and the cocktails were great. Wouldn't come back for food but maybe for drinks. Thanks to Astrid, Summer and Felix for the great service.

Having previously had fantastic food in the Aberdeen branch we were looking forward to eating here again but we were a little disappointed. Steak was very fatty and was burned on the outside. We had sticky toffee for dessert and the ‘butterscotch’ sauce wasn’t even edible it was awful.

Stayed at the Sandman so we tried their restaurant and it was awesome!! Attentive service (thanks to Roxy!), great portion sizes (we had the ribeye steak! Highly recommend) and beautiful decor.

My boyfriend and I had an overnight stay whilst visiting Glasgow. Originally from Glasgow, it was great to see a new restaurant and bar which was different to everywhere else. The restaurant is set up as a plush American Sports Bar - with TVs above and around the bar - which meant we could easily watch whilst we enjoyed our drinks. We also enjoyed the wide selection and quality food that was served at the buffet breakfast the next morning. The team were super friendly and accomodating, going out of their way to make me a vegetarian option. We cannot wait to come back and try the dinner menu next time!

Sunday at 5pm, so expected it to be quiet and it was. The Football was being shown on all the TVs above the bar, not particularly intrusive but not creating any ambience either. It is a big open space, bright but characterless. The food was OK, the steaks were over-cooked, some menu choices not available from a fairly limited choice to start with. The service was fine. The ambience is more like a sports bar than a restaurant and overall it seemed very expensive for what was provided. We won’t be going back.

Although it is a nice restaurant don’t get there at opening. Apparently they serve breakfast and not ready for lunch till well after there advertised opening time. I would suggest they set their opening time to 1230. They do have good food and good service.

Dinner at Chop Grill was one of the food highlights of our family vacation in Scotland. We tried quite a few places around, have to say that the meat and fish quality here was second to none. I am a dessert fan and enjoyed the sticky toffee as well! Warm and welcoming service from all the staff, special mention to Alan for the great service and Felix i think his name was, who made us some lovely cocktails.

Ate here twice while staying at the hotel above- had a solid meal with great service by Andrew one night and Ethan the other- both of which were friendly and accomodating!

Had a great time in this hotel and the restaurant attached to it a week ago whilst down for work and the cycling. New and very clean. The rooms were lovely. All the staff were particularly hospitality especially Chris in the reception who was very helpful and Felix in the restaurant who had some fun facts about the wine and it’s moustached label. Would fully recommend the whole experience (except the bit where the massive sign light turns on like a fog light into your room)

We live in Edinburgh most of the time and always like to visit Glasgow during august to escape the fringe. This time we stayed at the Sandman for our trip and spent a couple evenings dining at Chop. The food was lovely and the service was very friendly and fast. We spent some time talking to a very nice young man at the bar who made our drinks and made us feel very welcome, talking about Edinburgh as he used to live there and did the same course our daughter will be beginning in September! Thank you Felix!

The restaurant is clean and stylish. I really liked the variety of food during breakfast, especially haggis. The staff was friendly and welcoming, door host Darina offered me a really good table and tasty coffee. Highly recommend

Had supper here while I was staying in the hotel with my kids. The food was very good, albeit a bit pricey for what we got. We got excellent service from all the staff, especially Marwa, who was our server.

I have been to Chop for dinner few days ago with a friend and we had one of the best smoked ribeye steak (suggested by Roxy, our friendly waitress). The service was perfect and we loved the design of the place. Definitely recommend!

Great service at Chop. Everyone was great especially Kristian and Roxy. The food was delicious! In particular, we loved the salmon at dinner. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and very tasty.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a CIE tour. All of our meals were delicious. Khristian was especially friendly and recommend a nice scotch for us to try (Lagavulin) that we really enjoyed. Khristian is an asset to this restaurant.

No complaints about the food or service. I do not normally eat steak but was informed to try the appetizer steak bites and flat iron steak. Both were phenomenal and cooked perfectly (medium rare). Also the toffee pudding was delicious, perfectly moist and caramelized. Waitstaff was attentive and accommodating. HOWEVER, the the booths did not have footrests and I was very uncomfortable. My legs and feet kept falling asleep. I would have stayed longer for additional drinks but the seating situation was uncomfortable. For a newer hotel, I am surprised how the restaurant bar decor was lacking and outdated.

The food was nice but the service was great, Antony was a great waiter and very attentive but wasn't overbearing. We really enjoyed speaking to the young manager Summer, she had loads of great suggestions for local pubs!

Wonderful all around! Menu highlights for me would be the steak bites and smoked ribeye - both delicious and well presented. Not usually a dessert person, but the white chocolate blondie is exquisite, I'd have it every day! We were served by Alan. Stayed for work last week, hotel was nice. Bar and restaurant were brilliant. Service was friendly but unobtrusive. Food was great, steak bites starter and the mango chicken main were the highlights. Good selection of beers and cocktails too. Will def be back

Staying at the hotel and decided to the restaurant. The food is absolutely fantastic!! Very flavorful. I had the haddock fish fry and the batter was light and crunchy. The French fries were seasoned and crunchy… an amazing meal all around.

He also made solid recommendations from the Chops menu and conducted a personal tasting with us of his favorite Scotches. I am a sold bourbon drinker, but through his expert knowledge and taking the time to get to know our taste profiles, I know proclaim a new found love for Scotch. I only hope I can find the label in the US. I am glad to have experienced Chops early in its opening. I hope very humbly when we return and they are packed as they will be and they remember this Southern Couple and find us a seat. They are destined to be the #1 new dining destination in Scotland.
