Bloc in Glasgow City

Bloc food is always great but we didn't receive the garlic bread with our mac and cheese :'(

Food - Bland, no salt and pepper in anything, we had a mix of items from both the Normal & Vegan menu's, both items where incredibly bland... Service - Lovely staff just incredibly slow, the place wasn't busy, but our cocktail refill got forgotten about twice, and we waited 40ish minutes for those refills, again not that busy. Atmosphere - Cool atmosphere and décor, a little like Bucks Bar, kind of that rock red vibe, unfortunately a table beside us was incredibly loud and I went home with a massive headache...

Arrived a little after the doors opened. I was the only person there for as long as it took to select food and be served a drink. Food arrived pretty quickly, was hot and tasted great.

Food was first class, great service brilliant atmosphere will definitely be back.

Sauces, tiny tub less than half full, fries, lol, about handful of Iceland chips! Popcorn chicken decent. Nearly £60, embarrassing , worst ever takeaway had on uber! Bloc being the ideal name for this place!

Ok burger, irn bru pulled pork was good but patty was pretty average, though at least for the price you get fries. Gochu wings were good. Food took quite a long time, and then so did the bill.

Love sitting in Bloc having a burger and a Pravha people watching, music listening and chilling with friends. Foods great. Thoroughly recommend a visit if in my favourite city.

The venue was packed with people, and live music performance on a Saturday is an excellent experience. I was disappointed with the food. I ordered a medium steak with fries and got a lukewarm, well done steak with cold fries. Steak was not seasoned and charred. My partner got burger with fries. Again, fries were cold and portion size very small. Sauce selection was great, which may have redeemed the experience if food was at least warm. Drinks are very expensive but selection is good.

Just a great little hidden away pub for a nice lunch, food great and very convenient just off sauchiehall street. Glasgow.

Great place to meet friends eat, catch up. Good service, staff were nice and friendly. Plenty of choice in the meals especially as we had veggies and vegans in our group. You can reserve tables ahead.

For a lunchtime during the week, the atmosphere and service was really good. Highly recommended and would go back again.

Love the ambience, it will never lose that but the service was really slow, and the food is starting to lag,first time for everything I guess.

Visto este pequeño lugar en la TV la comida es absolutamente brillante si no puedes encontrar algo que te guste en el menú entonces eres muy difícil de complacer al personal muy amable el servicio es 10 / 10 y la comida es fuera de este mundo recomendaría encarecidamente este lugar y sin duda obtendría una de las hamburguesas de aquí.

La comida es tan agradable y el precio es tan amable! Incluso el servicio es la parte superior! El medio ambiente es tan bueno también. ¡Todo está muy por encima de las expectativas! Sin duda recomiendo este restaurante si buscas una buena comida con precio asequible.

Went in yesterday this is my second time visiting, the servers was great the food was fine(The chicken wings didn't taste of salt and pepper a bit dry) everything was fine. My ticket on the car was running out so I approached the bar to pay for our meal, As I was coming down the 2 steps the person who took my order was sitting across the stool on her phone vaping, I asked her were do I pay she pointed at the bar as she let out a big puff. Felt like I was disturbing her. (The last time I was in the card machine was brought the the table.) I paid I left. I don't expect anyone let alone staff to be vaping inside.

Located on a corner of Bath street at basement level but easilly spotted by the bright sign. I hadnt been here since Bloc+ took over and they have done a great job with the place. Great food deals every night and a decent selection of beers as well as a few alcohol free ones. I warched a triple bill of bands for free! They have industrially tough furnishings with real wood seats and tables, dimmed lighting when the bands came on too. Nice place and we will come back.

Possibly the best burger I've had in the UK! Visited during a stay in Glasgow and the food was amazing, service was top class couldn't do less for you and atmosphere was sound, relaxed but good music 👌

Serves Pizza until 3AM! vegan cheese options too. Great atmosphere, the place is full even on a Sunday night. Really lovely staff, world class love music. Good vibes all round. I recommend 100%! (Don't let the rubbish website put you off, give them a call to find out what's on!)

Me and a friend had decided to come for food and drinks as we’d heard loads about it but also as he’d been before a few years prior. We sat down and a waitress handed us menus, got a drink order after about 10 mins ( it wasn’t even busy as this point), after one of us was away to go to the bar as we hadn’t been seen. Then was rudely told by one that someone will come get our order. The same said girl came back 5 mins after standing about chatting to another member of staff. Got our drinks and ordered food, but this waitress couldn’t have been less interested in customer service or her job as her attitude certainly didn’t imply this. Cannot fault the food at all, the food came out hot and tasty , we thoroughly enjoyed it without a doubt. We had finished and waited for another 10 mins for someone to come clear the plates and ask if we wanted anything else …. 3 of the waitresses / waiters standing at the bar too busy chatting to even notice anyone waiting. They finally come over and clear the plates but just leave us alone. A different person comes over after we are looking about for someone, we then decide to pay the bill as we’d had enough, bil dropped off at table and asked “cash or card” , we say card and then she disappeared ….. we had to get someone different to get us to pay. I have been in the industry for 5 years and I get you can get tired etc from a long / hard days work . The restaurant in general was nice and clearly a hotspot, but the service was absolutely diabolical and would make me definitely think twice about coming back or recommending , it’s very off putting.

I have always loved bloc and been going for years, but sometimes the service is so slow. We went in, (there was about 10 other people in the place.) where given a menu and just sat there for 25 minutes, Our drinks of food order wasnt taken Instead of being 'that person' and trying to order at the bar because the waitress was chatting to people... We just left. I wanted to stay, I wanted to eat and drink! But that kind of atmosphere puts you off like they just cant be bothered with you.

Bloc is great, good, tasty food, friendly atmosphere and have lots of good entertainment on.

We've been coming here for food and drinks for at least 10 years. The veggie/vegan options are absolutely unbeatable. The Maccy Vee and Durty burger are second to none, elite level burger. You'd honestly never know it's veggie. The fries and tots are great, and portions are MASSIVE. We ate there on Friday at around 4pm and didn't eat until lunchtime the next day. Practically everything is made in house, and there's always something new to try if you check their socials. Excellent selection of drinks, including non alc. The service is a little too hands off for me, I feel like a check back is often forgotten, but the staff are lovely and there are a few who have been there a long time which is always a great sign. This place really is the heart of the Glasgow music scene for realsies and i think they should get more recognition for their efforts tbh. Always something on, they treat their bands and artistes well and truly do their best for the city. As someone who's worked in hospo and events for too damn long this doesn't go unnoticed and if you're still reading and give a damn about any of this then check out their blog.

I hadn't been here before, but my friend that suggested we meet here definitely understood the assignment! As soon as I saw pride and Antifa flags, and punks hangout smoking, I new I was going to like the vibe. Great staff, good food, great prices!

10/10 class place, decent drink price, sunday jazz and monday jam is all top tier

Excellent venue, has been for years. Prices aren't too bad for Glasgow (these days), interesting food menu, regular live music and jam nights are a lot of fun.

Very enjoyable overall. Waitress was great despite my mate being annoying and difficult which I scolded him for. Only issue I saw was place seemed slightly understaffed for the night which could be for any number of reasons. Would definitely go again.

Came here on Monday the 9th of September for a dinner with my girlfriend. She's vegetarian and they have a whole vegan/vegetarian menu which is perfect for us. My steak and chips was cooked to perfection and so was her veggie burger. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Stumbled on this fabulous venue on day one and had to come back again as it was so good! Reasonably priced grub, great choices for veggies and vegans (vegan corn ribs divine) , dad loved his (meat) burger with blue cheese - and teenager enjoyed his wings etc. Friendly welcome and efficient service and the background music was 10/10 on both visits.

Very good atmosphere! The IRN Maiden poutine was amazing!

Went with a group of friends and had the Wednesday steak offer which was really good value for money. I would feel safe going there on my own as it's such a welcoming place.

Pido Lucky Saint 0% alcohol en borrador, que fue un buen toque, ya que generalmente solo se obtiene 0% en botellas. 50 la pinta... ¡Pido la oferta diaria de los jueves que era pollo en una cesta por cinco centavos! Una buena oferta y buena comida, me alegro de haber decidido venir aquí y sin duda volveré la próxima semana cuando esté de vuelta en Glasgow.

Bloody fab spot for local bands, live music. Space is comfy with low ceilings and red lighting, it's a casual spot for great fun and music (+ late night pizza)

The vegan food is amazing, best buffalo cauliflower I have had in years and the beyond meat franks with the vegan cheese and chips...Ooft a game changer and not too dear. I hadn't had an appetite for weeks, think to my friends dismay I hoovered up most if the sharer plate..

Nice place for a drink very good food and live music . Some outdoor space too. Toilets are gender friendly and prices are good. One down side there was not much on draft beers on offer mainly bottles. Goood gigs and ipen till 3. Beard are not the strong point

Popped in here for some steak frites for lunch with friends. Amazing atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent prices. I mean £6 for steak and chips, and a helping of salad and sauce. Prompt service at the table, good banter with the waiter, polite service when the food arrived. Steaks cooked to perfection, two medium rares, a medium, and one well done. Thank you Bloc+ for a quick bite to eat and a great experience in 25 minutes (had to rush to get back to the office). One of the best eateries in the city.

They were playing a long form lets play of Final Fantasy 7 on the TV screens and the portion of tater tots was vast. Excellent. Easy for my gluten free partner to see what on the menu was suitable for him.

Called up on the last ever Super Special Sunday to see if Bloc took bookings for small tables, they normally don't but so kindly fitted me and my fam visiting from abroad. I was pretty devastated over this last ever special Sunday being spent at Bloc BUT Rachel with their class customer service was amazing! Genuinely so class and so friendly. James was lovely too along with everyone's name who I didn't catch. Amazing service team<3

Excellent place for a gig! The staff, sound engineers and booking agent looked after us so well and were very helpful and informative, it made the whole process really smooth and a great night for everyone! Bloc is downstairs, the restaurant was full and the food looked great, lots of friendly staff, clean facilities, they cleared some space for the gig from 9pm. It was awesome, great crowd, great sound, really good space, some seating indoors, outdoor space and tables. Bands are well looked after here. Loved it, we'll definitely be back! 5*

Appalling service from some of the most uninterested and rude staff I've ever come across. Burger was also absolutely disgusting. Arrived stinking of old grease and I couldn't eat it. Absolutely repulsive. Wasn't even a smash burger or decent quality meat. One of the cheapest, fatty, gristly bits of meat I've ever eaten and the ly should be ashamed serving it. The smell was absolutely grotesque. Avoid.

Si no hubiera podido dejar estrellas lo habría hecho ya que este restaurante ni siquiera merece 1 estrella. Estuve aquí hoy para comer con mi familia. Un miembro del personal me trajo un refresco equivocado y cuando señalé esto cortésmente se volvió agresiva, lo negó, me acusó de mentir y siguió diciendo que había ordenado eso en lugar de simplemente rectificar su error y simplemente cambiar la lata de jugo. Esto fue de un lado a otro durante unos 5 / 10 minutos antes de que realmente obtuviera la bebida correcta. Parecía que este miembro del personal estaba de mal humor, grosero, discutidor e ignorante. Cuando le pregunté si podía hablar con un gerente, ella me ignoró y dijo que “no podía lidiar conmigo”. Realmente no podía entender de dónde venía toda su agresión, ya que solo había pedido cambiar un refresco incorrecto por la bebida que realmente había pedido. El servicio que recibimos durante el resto de nuestra comida fue impactante, nos hicieron sentir tan desagradables.

If you are looking for bang for your buck this is pretty much the best menu in Glasgow city centre. The daily deals are amazing. It’s a perfect lunch spot. Portions aren’t massive but enough to fill you on a lunch or quick dinner. Just be wary not to chuck in some add on purchases as they pretty much double your bill and don’t really add value for the quality you get. It’s a pub, live music venue and eatery but I see it more of a cafe diner. It’s also an abso bargain. Highly recommended!

The restaurant was opened without a chef in the building the male manager did explain why a short wait later.....around 30 mins or so we were served a decent steak and chips very reasonably priced unfortunately I felt the atmosphere wasn't great and the service was average table not that clean and sticky. I couldn't guess who worked there as some of the staff wandering around looked like they were on a night out.

Visited here with a friend of mine for the first time. Not a local but it came up with good reviews. My friend however had been before. Ordered food and drinks, took around 30 minutes to arrive, no big deal. For the price of £36 we received two cans of cider, a single burger, no side salad or fries. Just a single lone small burger. As well as 5 pieces of store bought falafel, hummus and some basic bread. The food wasn’t bad per se, just vastly overpriced and small in portion - even by Edinburgh city centre standards. My friend remarked how only a month earlier the food was way better and larger in size. Despite this, staff were great and the venue is cool. I’ll be avoiding going forward as there are plenty better options around Glasgow for the price.

Different specials each day. We were there for burger Tuesday, for £4 each with chips. I got a portion of core slaw and some jalapeño which bumped the price up. A couple of pints and a coffee took the total for the two of us just over £20. Well worth a look in if you want some reasonable grub at reasonable prices. Very friendly staff too.

Disappointing food, everything was cold, overcooked *mac and cheese was burnt to the bottom of its dish. Had to wait 40+minutes for it after waiting about 20 to be served. Didn't really seem that busy but obviously understaffed.

Waited 30 minutes for drinks we gave up and went to the bar ourselves. Then waited 1 hour and 20minutes for food to arrive. No one updated us on the food being late or problems in the kitchen. I had to ask what was happening and we planned to leave. Finally the food came. Can’t fault the food but the slow service was really disappointing. No one asked if we wanted any more drinks which we had finished well before the food arrived. Hoping a one off cause we love the food!

The nachos were lacking any toppings and chips were cold . It's cheap enough for quick lunch.

Been here a few times. Food is Good. Tried the durty burger was good but we didn't like the gravy. Hotdogs are banging. The irn bru pakora was OK. Vladimir poutine chips. Definitely not worth £7.95 would definitely go back to try other things. On the menu. Staff are friendly place has a good feel to it. Please change the slaw back to the way it was.

Paid £13 for this weird hotdog that had noodles on it, and it didn’t even come with chips. Extremely disappointed. Better off going to the dirty duchess.

Thursday is fried chicken day for the lunchtime special, which was delicious. Can't believe I've been working in town all these years and this is my 1st visit!

One of favourite bars in the city for some good cheap grub, been several times and never been disappointed. Burgers, dogs, loaded fries, vegan versions of all in a unpretentious atmosphere, check it out.

Food is nice and lots of choices for gluten free but was really disappointed with the fact that there were no gluten free desserts as an option on the day even though they were on the menu.

Literally the number one place I head to with friends and family when I’m back, after 4 years not living in Glasgow. The English manager(?) guy is really lovely and the other staff too. Deals are banging and the peppercorn sauce is too good. It’s a real shame that there’s one female waiter who’s obviously had enough of the role. On this occasion when visiting with my partner decided to be really incredibly rude and accusatory when I had politely mentioned that my chicken was a bit tough. She walked away without replying then repeatedly told me there was nothing she could do and that I should have informed her sooner (I had only eaten a bite of it). I explained that it wasn’t a big deal, but that we didn’t have time for another to be made. She then smirked nearby avoiding us being able to ask for the bill. After 12 years in hospitality I totally understand the rage but it tends to be best to save it for rude customers who deserve it. It was all a bit embarrassing for her when she did eventually take the problem item off the bill. Again, such a shame to have one ignorant person spoil a gem, but if you can handle being spoken to nastily - the peppercorn sauce may be worth it.
