The porn star martinis in August House are amazing. The service was fine, and the sweet potato chips 🍟 were excellent.

we arrived for our booking at 7:30 only to see the restaurant was completely shut, we had no notification of this and had email confirming only 2 days before. we phoned multiple times but only got an answering machine, emailed but never heard back along with an instagram DM. the booking was the correct time/date so we have no explanation as to why this happened!!

Booked the £20 birthday package which was supposed to include balloons, a free glass of prosecco, a slice of cake and a card but only got the glass of prosecco, slice of cake and no balloons or card, tried to find a member of staff to let them know but there was no one around apart from bar staff. Other than that, lovely venue, good drinks and the member of staff that initially served us was nice.

Spent the afternoon having lunch with friends. Food was lovely and staff were brilliant. Really friendly, helpful and attentive.

I attended the 'R&B brunch' this past Saturday for my friends hen, and it was such a disappointment. Held in the basement of the venue, the first thing that hits you is the overwhelming stench of bleach. The event started at 12noon, we arrived shortly after, but the staff were so unorganized. No guest list for entry, no welcome drink as advertised. The staff behind the bar didn't know how to make the cocktails that were advertised on the main screen that were part of the drinks tokens. This is the second time I have been at an event at August House, and both have been shambolic.

Went into the venue yesterday. Waited for several minutes for someone to welcome us in and find us a table. This did not happen despite there being a space to wait for customers. We then decided to walk up to the bar to have a look at the menu. We were then informed we needed to be seated and we had stated that we had been waiting for someone to seat us. They asked if we had a booking, we did not have one, however there were over 5 spaces free tables with no reservation cards, yet the manager said they were “rammed”. The manager was not in the most pleasant of moods and did not make us feel welcomed. He managed to slot us into very small table and we went to order up at the bar as instructed by the manager. We ended up waiting a while at the bar to make our order, staff then simply did not take our order. They were short staffed behind the bar, so were swept off their feet enough as it is, however they were not engaging in any customer service when we were waiting at the bar. A simple “we’ll be right with you” or “I’m so sorry, please bare with us a few minutes”. We then decided to leave due to this experience, and had frankly driven away a customer and business to the venue. I personally will not be returning.

4 of us were in early yesterday and the hostess with the mostess let us sit where we liked. She was so lovely , friendly and helpful while also giving us space to blether. The food was fab and reasonable. Being the only vegan it was lovely to have the same choice as the meat eaters. Fab wee afternoon. Went there for their lunch deal today. The lovely lady who was working was so nice and friendly. Really seemed to know when to come over and when to leave us alone. Super professional and just so nice. The burgers and starters were awesome, and great vegan options too . Can't recommend highly enough

Beautiful bar located in the city centre of Glasgow, this one boy in particular was a superstar, quick with the drinks and dished them out with a cheeky grin on his face.

Visited last Saturday on a works night out evening for a few drinks and the service was excellent. Even without a booking we were welcomed in by the manager Jenni and given a free table for an hour or so before moving to the seats on the ledges as the table was booked later on, cocktails were high quality and quickly prepared. Would highly recommend a visit if you're in Central Glasgow.

I was double charged for drinks then told by bar staff that I was lying about it. They offered me a free drink which then shattered in my hand because it was taken out of the dishwasher and had ice added to it immediately by staff that clearly haven’t been trained properly.

Had our staff night out in here and it was absolutely brilliant. Big thanks to the team who took such great care of us, we had a fantastic night and all kept talking about how great the service was. Food was amazing and there were plenty of vegan options for those that needed them, as well as delicious, fairly-priced cocktails. Will definitely be back here soon!

I had my 30th at August House and can not recommend enough , very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, the food was amazing and the staff were very professional and warm and welcoming, Callum dealt with any queries we had straight away and made us feel very special . Very lovely place with lovely staff . Would highly recommend.

Christmas Comedy Club & meal. We had a table of 10 and were squashed in very close to another 2 tables which made it difficult to get back out from our seats. Food was ok. The staff were great though. I went to the bar for a bottle of prosecco and they unfortunately didn't have an ice bucket for it. 10 mins later the barman came over to our table with an ice bucket that someone had finished with. He didn't need to do that, it was very much appreciated!

Terrible, ordered drinks took half an hour to arrive, second order, half an hour later went to the bar to find out where they were to discover there were none of a certain cocktail which we had ordered, got served a flat mojito and a french martini minus the foam as it had sat so long.... Then asked for the bill and all drinks had been added despite not even recieving, terrible service, terrible drinks, waste of time! We were the only ones who felt that way...many others left. Lesson learned!

We were in for a private gig and the bar staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The draft beer was not working downstairs, but the staff were happy to run up to the bar upstairs if you wanted one.

Nice place for a cocktail or 2...Service was quick and helped us locate a table as it was busy. Atmosphere relaxed and chilled.

The starters were AMAZING. I had the haggis bon bons and OH MY GAWD. I could’ve had 5 portions. The katsu burger however, I was disappointed by. Comes with “close slaw” on it but there’s was no kind of sauce and it was covered in herbs. Chicken was also a tad on the dry side and the katsu curry sauce tasted a little less like Katsu and almost more like mango? Let’s just say it defo wasn’t coleslaw and the katsu sauce was…well not katsu. Our waitress was lovely and the drinks she made were 100/10. We had the astrology drink for that night and WOW. Absolute mango, citrus juice and a lemon sherbet. Would defo be back just to get one of those again!! To be very honest, we also came here on a Wednesday meaning the atmosphere was a bit quiet but if that’s your kind of thing then a week day before 5 is perfect.

First visit here to experience the Movie night, Absolutely Brilliant, It's a Fab idea midweek Game Changer, I booked tickets for my friend and I and we will definitely book again. Venue was easy to find, Friendly and Welcoming staff on entry just sorry I never got his name but he was very helpful and Friendly you could tell by his smile and enthusiasm that he enjoyed his work. The First Wives Club movie night had lots of laughter in the private viewing room , and few tears that was me, then laughter again. The Fantastic staff recommended the frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail as we were both driving, they were Delicious and well presented, then came to the table with our cute boxes of Tortillas smothered with, cheese and salsa and garnished with chopped spring onions and then a good size portion of The Sweetest Popcorn I've Ever tasted. Well Done to who ever came up with this Genius Idea of the Midweek movie nights. GREAT VALUE. Cant wait to book our next one . Thanks to All the staff for making us feel really welcome and Spoilt See you soon Sam Xx

Crammed place, probably expected for a Saturday night .. service took a while , they didn't take payment when drink orders were took , drinks took a while to come, felt the vibes were off , we had to eventually go up to the bar to pay , looked at receipt , I had ordered a different cocktail than what was on the receipt it was more expensive than the one I had ordered but not by much , but that's not the point , pointed it out to bartender and his attitude wasn't very nice about it but he eventually fixed it , tried to say the server came up and said they had ordered the wrong drink 🙃 but was the correct one originally and changed it , very odd . Don't think we will be back , first time trying the place out and didn't like it .

Too bad about the food! We wanted to love it - but very mediocre, like sort of fast food , but served a bit old and unappealing and not tasty. We were party of 6 on ITISON voucher for cocktails and 2 courses - but nothing was really good - Margaritas served in small glasses . Not really salted rims, the starters were too crispy and overcooked and not tasty, the curry - Thai curry and peanut Indonesian curry were not authentic and the latter one served a bit cold with three lumps of crispy cold cauliflower. The chicken Sando was underwhelming. Atmosphere was ok but DJ started and that made chat very difficult over lunch. So we won't be back and disappointed to say that !

The entertainment was great. The food - terrible. Took 2.5 hrs for it to come and it was cold! Plus some people didn't get any as they ran out!! Bar service was very slow and definitely should have more on to support the bar staff for the number of people there.

We held a student event here and Callum was such a terrific help. He couldn’t have been more accommodating and kept us on track. Can’t wait to host more events here :)

As part of our second year event management course we hosted an ABBA Cocktail Masterclass at August House. Callum helped us organise our event and lead the Masterclass. He was amazing at talking through the Masterclass. Everyone loved it and said how well he presented himself during the event !

Came to august house for my friends event and loved every minute of it! The staff were lovely, so helpful, friendly and fun! Special mention to Callum who was leading the cocktail master class. Cant thank the staff and the girls enough for an amazing night!

We were here for a cocktail master class that my friend was hosting as part of her degree and Callum could not have been more helpful and so friendly, felt very welcomed by him. He explained everything clearly and created such a fun experience!!

When we arrived, August House was fairly empty save a group of beautifully dressed and tuxedoed ladies and gents. We had a 5pm deal here, enabling us to have two cocktails, two sides and two mains. Our server was nice. There was a nightclub area downstairs. The neon sign in the ladies made me laugh. Finally, I was impressed that a toilet cubicle was truly spacious enough to be able to swing two cats around it...

Staff were an absolute delight, nothing was a problem, great service!

Such a bad experience for a pre-booked night on Saturday. - On arrival at 7.25PM - the area was still busy that we’d booked and nothing was set up. We were asked to wait at the bar that took us past the booking time where I would have expected everyone to have been seated pretty quickly. - We were expecting welcome drinks, we sat for around 30 minutes before I had to ask the waitress to come and take our orders. - When the food was being handed out, the team didn’t ask anything about what was pre-ordered but instead just dumped plates in front of people - we had people with dietary requirements / special requests and I’d made sure this was communicated in the pre-booking. - My sister who was there to celebrate her birthday didn’t get a starter and I had to ask for this for her and they also didn’t give her main to her. When I spoke to the waitress (brown hair) she was so short and rude even though this was your mistake. She then proceeded to give her the wrong meal that was cold and the burger bun was rock solid. - Majority of the meals were either cold or stale. The 2 vegan desserts were also quite clearly from the afternoon teas that were made at another point in the day because again, the sponge was rock solid and wasn’t edible. - Three people in the party have also been complaining of food poisoning since Saturday evening. Don't recommend. Really disappointing.

Really disappointing. Despite booking well in advance, the tables weren’t ready for our arrival. We pre-ordered all meals & when it came to service the staff didn’t check who was having what & just placed random orders in front of people including chicken to the vegan customers. We were there to celebrate my cousins 40th & she was left without her meal until we chased it. They then brought out a plate that had been refused by someone else & wasn’t even what she ordered. The service was slow & disorganised. The one girl left with our table did her best but should have had much more support from the rest of the staff. On top of that, the music was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation. Food was nice enough but the overall experience was very disappointing.

Had a lovely afternoon here with some fantastic cocktails (one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had!) in a lovely venue. The staff were polite and pleasant, would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Love August House! It's a great spot for cocktails but we were also pleasantly surprised by the food - you don't usually expect food at a cocktail bar to be good but everything we had was delicious! Also vibes are immaculate

This place is the cambridge analytica of the food industry. Never visited this place, and I've only visited Glasgow once (the Uni) since it seems this place opened. I don't even live in Scotland, yet I'm getting spam emails from them. Yes they've probably paid for data about my friends and colleagues in Glasgow that I'm connected to on Insta/FB and who have likely given away my data without my permission, and then linked it to other sources they've paid for, but we all know today that this is shoddy practice. Will be avoiding.

This place is absolutely gorgeous and the guy on the door was so lovely and helpful… But the DJ playing Abba megamix at 10pm on a Saturday night??? We would of stayed but couldn’t stand listening to one more second of it… everyone else looked like they felt exactly the same! Try playing something to suit the crowd a wee bit better… Felt like we were in a working man’s pub 😂

Not the best experience. Food wasn’t great given the prices and drinks had to be remade. Disappointing given the hype on social media, definitely won’t be coming back.

Didn’t understand the service in this place? Arrived for booking at 3pm - waited 5 minutes at the door. Walked in for the woman front of house to then tell us to wait again while she finds where our table was. Didn’t know if it was table or bar service so ordered at the bar first round and waited 10 Minutes to be served for 2 beers. Second round my friend went up and got asked if he was ordering food - we weren’t so got told to sit down and they would get someone to take out order. Waited another 5 minutes for this. 10 minutes after the order was taken the front of house woman came over and said she needed the the table back in half an hour - okay but where are our drinks we ordered 15 minutes ago? They didn’t arrive for another 10 minutes after that so felt rushed to drink it to give a table back. Also one of the servers took the tables next to us order but used our table to write their order down, find if we had a spare table but having a guy kneeled over in-front of us writing someone else’s order down is so bizarre?? Maybe get a cheap version of an iPad or smartphone if your servers can’t write on a small pad?? Decor was nice and drinks where nice but everything else let this place down.

Visited on a spontaneous Sunday evening with friends. Decor was lush and lots of cozy booths as well as a dancefloor FULL of disco lights! We were served by Cadhla who recommended some lovely cocktails for us! (I had the XIX nineteen) They were presented beautifully and tasted just as good. Will definitely back at the weekend to see it in full swing!

We (8 of us) made the mistake of not booking anywhere for drinks on a Saturday night. When we walked past we thought it looked beautiful. First impression, the bouncer was very welcoming and that can be rare in Glasgow. We waited only 2 seconds at the host desk, where the member of staff told us that they were fully booked at the moment but we were welcome to stand at the bar, even know there were 8 of us, he said it wasn’t a bother. After a couple of drinks he then made a huge table for us which was super appreciated but then shortly after we had to go for dinner. But all in all, a super pleasant experience, nice decor and lovely drinks. Cocktails take as long as they take to be made so people need to be reminded that they will have to wait 😅 thanks for a lovely night!
