Okome Shawlands in Glasgow City

Okome has quickly become my daughter's favorite spot for sushi in Southside. The freshness and high quality of the ingredients are truly impressive. Their generous portions, combined with a welcoming atmosphere, make each visit a delight. It's a fantastic value for the money, and we always leave looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommend!

Excellent can’t recommend them enough

I have been ordering sushi from here at least once a month for 4 years. The sushi sets are amazing value and always come with soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi. The rest of the menu has a lot of really great options - particular favourites of mine being the chicken karaage, sesame wings, both the kimchi and katsu fries, and the chahan dishes. I've never gone in to eat but if the food for delivery is anything to go by, it'll be amazing eating in. The delivery guy I usually have I think works directly for the restaurant and he is always so sweet. I'm moving away from Glasgow, and this is the food location I will miss most of all!

Tried their chilli broth ramen with chai siu which was hell spicy, the portion size was amazing. Also had salmon maki sushi. In all food was amazing, service was good and the amount of options they have on their menu is fabulous.

Chill broth ramen is pretty good.

The chicken Teriyaki bowl was salty and the rice overcooked, the Sushi had dried up ginger and only one sachet of soy sauce for a whole box of mixed sushi

Consistently delicious, fresh food which is beautifully presented. A little bit pricey but you won’t be disappointed.

Food was delicious, place relaxed and funky. Kids loved it (especially bubble tea) and the staff are so helpful and well informed about the menu. Will e going again.

Specials are a good price. Food is alright not the best Japanese food I've had for sure. Their bobas are great and the service is wonderful and friendly though. Cute vibe inside too.

Food was good quality , but on this occasion unfortunately the hot food was disappointing as needed heating which is never normally the case , cold stuff was good as always.

Delivery driver was lovely and food was fresh and still hot.

Only thing letting it down was the promotion said 30% and at checkout it was only 10% , reason we ordered was for the 30% promotion

From time to time I order something here. It's always very tasty, natural, beautifully packaged. The couriers are always polite, smiling, and the delivery is faster than stated. One of my favorite places

This is a great little place, nipped in for some lunch, was going to take away but seen the upstairs seating and decided to stay, friendly staff, good service and great quality food, had teriyaki chicken and beef rice bowl with some miso, got some talk away maki for my wife as she was at home, she approved of the cucumber maki 🥰

Okome are always a treat, they deliver really quickly and the food is amazing. Everything I have ordered has been delicious. The only down side, and it's a small one, is the container that's used for the chicken yakitori - it very easily gets knocked over in the bag and can leak a bit. It's the smallest of complaints, but I'm less annoyed about the mess than the waste of the delicious sauce! One of the best Japanese restaurants in Glasgow, and never disappoints.

Really tasty food, with an extensive menu so something for everyone. The staff were lovely too.

The wakame salad was severely off. I took a big bit and had to spit it out immediately as it tasted spoilt and alcoholic. Very disappointing as usually the food is really good. Everything else was good though.

I had to put my food aside because its sooo hot and thought its the perfect moment to praise this guys to the sky. I wanted to write about the amazing food in wait to be eaten, but on the app it was still in the restaurant. It was actually 1 hour earlier than expected, what is pretty helpful when you eat rabbish during the day and you crave for something tasty and good for your body. I am usually not writing reviews, thats probably the first on just eat. Good food. Definitely recommending it!

The Gyudon is not Gyudon, don't expect to be served Gyudon if you ask for it. Online menu states misspelled "Goyudon", picture online has no Mayo, or any other sauce and looks pretty much like Gyudon as I would expect it, was not what was brought out to me. Please update your online menu. Regards

Impromptu Lunches are the best Lunches! Wow - @okomegalashiels ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First time visiting and definitely will be back! Ordered the Salt & Chilli Chips with Veggie platter of sushi & a lychee green tea! Incredible! The photo of the chips doesn't do it justice for the size, as I had already eaten half of them.. 😍 All in £16.15 worth every penny! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

Have had delivery and sit in food, both are delicious and the food travels well. Sit in is a more casual affair, but very clean bright with great customer service and really quick turn around between ordering and food coming.

Sweet and sour its just extra sweet syrup over defrosted chicken nuggets, very bad

Sushi was nice, katsu curry was nice (although the potatoes and broccoli were rock hard). But what have you done with the sweet & sour chicken??? Before it came with the sauce mixed through, so by the time the food was delivered, its was a very succulent dish. Now you send the sauce separate, so the battered chicken pieces (think poor grade chicken nuggets) are rock hard, it was disgusting.... Why did you change it??

The sushi was amazing, the tempura not really. Cold and soggy so went straight in bin.

Tiny seating area above the kitchen and counter downstairs - they do a lot of takeaway and delivery. Excellent sushi, great ramen soups, good value - would go again !

Food was poor this time round unfortunately. Chicken was dry and chewy, also ordered salt and chilli chips got plain chips with a light sprinkling of spice which were not fresh. Delivery was quick but wouldn't order again.

Okome is my fav southside Japanese. Best dragon rolls ever and the spicy chips are heaven! The staff are super friendly & helpful too, fast delivery for take away. Really good healthy alternative to Chinese.

Second time food has been delivered late and cold

All 3 of us enjoyed sushi & 2x main dishes. Chicken udon was delish.

Honest review, ordered katsu curry great apart from the chicken was a bit on the chewy stringy side, definitely not freshly cooked. I was hungry so still eat it but was off putting. Everything else was great and fast delivery.

Lovely little restaurant with a wide choice of Japanese food and drink

It was a bit disappointing. I ordered a seaweed salad and vegan sushi platter/box, everything had a sweet aftertaste. The seaweed salad was also 2/3 salad leaves and 1/3 seaweed. It wasn't bad (that's why 3 stars), but for sure, I won't be ordering again. The sweet aftertaste, which I did not expect, really overpowered the entire meal, which is not something that I would personally go for.

Always a delight to eat in or from here, the foods is always to a very high standard.

The sushi was great as always but the teriyaki chicken and beef bowl was not great. Meat really dry.

The Japanese traditional food is served very originally. I would say its one of the best Japanese restaurant in Scotland, comes with sushi, ramen, fried rice, etc Also the staffs are so friendly and kind we speak a lot and had a nice time:))

We got 2 bubble teas today and it was incredible as usual. This place is one of my favorite places for bubble tea, definitely recommend it to everyone.

I went with a friend to try it out as we wanted something different. The staff were very helpful and friendly they recommended a vegetarian curry style, it was delicious thanks

I had a good Chicken Katsu to sit in, gyoza’s and sushi also nice. Service fast and efficient although I found it a tad expensive.

Ordered katsu curry on Uber eats. Chicken was really tough, I love katsu curry usually. Not sure why it was so tough? Bad batch maybe

When ordering normally it's easy to get soy and chopsticks for the dishes, but when using a discount on Just Eat it's easy to miss putting those things in the bag. I want the same service every time, normally or with discount. I don't have salty sushi soy at home and I don't always have chopsticks. I will make sure to write in the comment every time I use a discount to put chopsticks and extra soy in the bag, especially when ordering two sets of sushi.

The food is always excellent which is why we’re frequent users!

The kimchi was interesting, not sure it was made with Napa cabbage but delicious none the less.

It was pretty tasty. Kimchi fries not worth £7, basic fries with a dollop of kimchi and too much spicy sauce. I’d expect less sauce, more kimchi for that money. Katsu and teriyaki really good though. Would order again, just not the fries.
