Came here for Valentine’s Day - an amazing experience! Today’s special cocktail Cupid is of sweet taste - might be better with more alcoholic feeling as for now I feel it more like a soda drink rather than a cocktail. Special starter scallop is great! Creamy taste but of great balance so that you won’t feel it too much. Especially after the oysters as snacks - they are fresh, opened my appetite. Tried venison as the main dish - delicious!! Better to pair with wine, it’s definitely my favorite. Then go for the burnt basque cheesecake, the plum and yogurt are of sour taste but they have a great dessert wine to pair with, which makes it overall so good. Nice staffs and talented chef team, will make sure to come back again 💖

Best restaurant I have been to in ages! The food was amazing and the place had a great atmosphere! Got a booking for my wife and I at the bar (which usually id say is not quite as good as being able to get an actual table in a restaurant) but if you have the choice sit at the bar here, got get a view right into the open kitchen and you can be a bit nosey and see what going on which I found really interesting. They also have really good wine available by the glass which is a big plus! Can’t recommend enough

So good I came back the next weekend to try more of the menu. Staff are lovely and happy to answer any questions and give recommendations on wine pairing. Sat at the kitchen bar stools is perfect foodie seat!

Another stellar evening at Brett! Burns Night included haggis and whisky, of course, but Brett took it to another level with a Highland Park pairing for each course, including 12-, 18-, and 25-year-old pours. The haggis, neeps, and tatties were accompanied by delectable crispy lamb sweetbreads. The meal couldn’t have been better—especially served in Brett’s signature comfortable, friendly, professional style.

Stunning the quality of the ingredients really shines thru. Love seeing the chefs progress from junior to senior roles. Just lovely people who obviously love what they do. Ate their again last night and - Stunning as always. The quality of food at Brett is absolutely top notch. Their Oysters are the best I have had in Glasgow, they are Cumbrae from the West Coast, reminded me of Kumimoto oysters -amazing.

Absolutely first class restaurant. Menu choice was extensive, food was sublime, service was impeccable. The corriander oil oysters were spectacular, the scallops and squid dish were the best I have ever had. This was my first experience at Bar Brett having been recommended. I live in Newcastle and would definitely make a trip just to dine here again. A total 5 star experience.

The oyster with cucumber and hot sauce tickled me. The potatoes dauphinoise changed me. I will never be the same. Excellent service. Will definitely be back

Fantastic meal here, service was knowledgeable and friendly without being overbearing. Food was simply sensational. Oysters to start, fresh and tasty, we had cod, scallops, raw beef, tortellini, cod toast, venison, chocolate mousse and cheesecake. All well presented, imaginative and delicious. The raw beef was a particular hilight, lots of different tastes and textures, was exceptional.

Petit restaurant avec une belle sélection de vin et de très bons plats. Point faible : vu la taille, même avec une réservation, on a attendu, debout près de la caisse, car il faisait trop froid dehors. S’adresser aux gérants pour le vin, le personnel n’y connaît pas for grand chose. Les portions sont petites, cela peut décevoir certains. Elles restent excellentes. Pain à l’huile d’olive extra ! Cuisine live derrière le bar, de grande qualité.

Tried Brett for a Saturday lunch and it didn't disappoint. Understated and relaxed but everything was perfect. The cocktails to start were great and there is a really well priced wine by the glass menu that was perfect for a lunch meal. We sat at the bar and got to watch the chefs work which adds to the experience. The food was faultless with the highlight being the venison, chanterelles and seed granola. Can't wait to return for dinner in the future.

Fabulous “wee” restaurant/bistro or whatever you want to call it. Great food, drinks, & wines you will not find anywhere else. The staff & chefs revel in being asked about the dishes and sauces, so don’t be shy to ask!

This was my first visit to Brett and having eaten at what are regarded as some of Glasgow's best restaurants I can honestly say the dishes sampled pretty much exceeded anything I've eaten elsewhere. Well balanced complex flavour profiles perfectly considered to give each dish a totally unique character. A menu with enough variety to suit any palate and meat and fish cooked to absolute perfection. Staff were attentive, knowledgeable and passionate about their dishes. I'll be back.

Belle découverte lors de notre passage à Glasgow. Petit restaurant très sympatique, ambiance musicale décontractée, et surtout plats excellents (les prix vont avec mais bien largement compensés par la qualité de la cuisine). Petite hésitation sur une peise de dessert ou non pour ne pas finir sur une note moins intéressante mais finalement nous avons craqué et quelle bonne décision! Rien à redire! Personnel accueillant par ailleurs, ce fût un plaisir. Je recommande vivement!

Been several times and this is the best restaurant in Glasgow IMHO. Food is amazing, service is low-key yet attentive, cocktails are also really good. I literally have zero complaints. Sitting at the kitchen bar adds to the occasion as you watch the chefs work. 10/10. Raw beef was my favourite followed by the squid. But honestly it was very close between everything.

Fabulous dining and wining experience in Glasgow. Probably the best food in the city, definitely the best service, incredibly passionate and knowledgeable front of house. The food is just a bawhair behind, the raw beef possibly the greatest, most intelligent reworking of a tartare I have ever eaten, the lamb so-so, the much raved about dauphinoise underseasoned, the squid superb. Vegetarian plates were handled brilliantly. But the standout was the wine and the wine service, barring an overly young Barollo, which was our fault (never order a sub 20 year old Barollo) , the wines were superb, and served with knowledge and passion. We had it large and did £260 for two but on the whole it was quite brilliantly done. Maybe the wonderful patron could spend a few quid on making the window tables level? But those few nitpicks aside, it's superb, memorable and deserves to succeed.

Brett is a truly amazing restaurant. The food is incredible and the staff are so lovely and passionate about their work. We had some wonderful conversations with them, and the wine list is fantastic. The sommelier gave us some recommendations to pair with our food and her input was spot on. They made my husband's birthday super special with their amazing service and food. We are both vegetarian. They were very attentive to this and there was plenty of beautiful food for us

Late review here, my partner and I wandered in while in the West End a couple of weeks ago. The food was so good, I forgot to take pictures. Every dish was better than the last but we were absolutely obsessed with the potato dauphnoise! The GIANT scallops also deserve a shout out. The wine and whisky lists were extensive and again didn't disappoint. The entire serving staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We loved watching and listening to the kitchen and expo staff work so well as a team. Coming from hospitality backgrounds ourselves, we really loved seeing such a well run establishment. Absolutely can not wait to come back, and experience Brett again!

We had the most incredibly memorable evening at Bar Brett. The food was perfect and so was the service. We were celebrating our engagement plus a birthday and the Bar Brett experience just added that extra special touch. For me the raw aged beef and the lamb special were the highlights. For my fiancé the gnocchi and beef were his personal favourites. The cocktails were incredible and we would highly recommend coming here for any occasion! The team knew in advance of my birthday but when prompted by my partner that he had actually proposed then proceeded to offer further congratulations (signed card) and offer of champagne. We are fortunate enough to know Kris (chef) who also gave us his congratulations (and privacy) adding to the experience. Could not recommend Brett highly enough. Regards One very happy couple x

Cuisine classique mais extrêmement bien maîtrisée. Des vins inhabituels que nous avons eu plaisir à découvrir. Des conseils vins/plats… à suivre les yeux fermés.

Absolument délicieux ! Voici un restaurant que j'ai découvert grâce aux conseils du guide Michelin. Les petits plats à partager sont juste exquis. Et je dois avouer qu'après presque 3 semaines d'Ecosse, cela faisant vraiment du bien de BIEN manger. Déception personnelle côté vin pour ma part. Je sais que c'est très personnel, les préférences pour les vins, mais je ne comprends pas du tout l'engouement que les Ecossais ont pout les vins d'Autralie, Nouvelle Zélande, Afrique du Sud, Amérique du Nord et du Sud. Faire boire du vin bio qui a traversé les océans, il faut m'expliquer le sens !!!! Il y a d'excellents vins en Europe que le monde entier nous envie, alors pourquoi boire du Sauvignon de Nouvelle Zélande qui nous vrille l'estomac ??? Bref, si j'exclus les vins qui ont parcouru plus de 3000 km, il ne reste pas grand chose sur la carte au verre, et je trouvais les prix des vins corrects horriblement chers. Je ne suis pas prête à payer 19 £ plus service soit largement plus de 20 euros pour 125 ml de chardonnay français. J'ai donc essayé un vin orange d'Italie à 9£ le verre. pas mal, mais pas mon kif non plus et mon mari a tenté le Merlot d'USA, plutôt décevant aussi. Dommage pour un restaurant - bar à vin.

Outstanding plates, great wine and brilliant staff!

One of the best meals of my lifetime!!! We ordered the olives, sourdough bread, carrots, tomatoes, KFC cauliflower, gnocchi and cod. I don't know what made the olives so magical but I've never had such delicious olives! Each dish was unique and flavorful! The standouts were the olives, tomatoes, KFC cauliflower, gnocchi and cod. My husband greatly enjoyed the duckfat butter which accompanied the bread (I don't eat meat). The service was exceptional and we really enjoyed sitting at the bar to watch the chefs in action!

a total gem. get a tasting menu, let them pair your wine and you shan't regret it! it's some of the best food i had in town, and the setting is as tasteful as it is laid back. open kitchen, attentive service, i couldn't ask for more.

It's ok bit disappointed in the mearvwas chewy but the Korean cauliflower was amazing.

My husband and I came here for drinks and snacks. The atmosphere and service were very good. Hubby enjoyed oysters very much. I enjoyed the cauliflower but would've liked it with a slice of sourdough. Very large selection of alcoholic drinks ( probably more than 5 pages) and a tiny section of non alcoholic ☹️ so husband enjoyed himself very much and I ended up drinking sparkling water.

Absolument délicieux. Ce sont de petites portions à partager, ils conseillent d'en prendre 2-3 par personne. Tout ce que nous avons goûté était très bon, jusqu'au dessert. Mon compagnon m'a dit que les huîtres étaient fameuses. Leur carte des vins est tout à fait intéressante. La salle est petite et si vous voulez être assis à une vraie table (sur la mezzanine) et pas au bar ou sur une chaise haute il vaut mieux réserver (on peut choisir où on préfère être assis sur leur site au moment de la réservation)

We recently spent 5 nights in Scotland, and this was easily the meal of the trip. The food was stunningly good and the service fun and friendly. We would return in a second, and will recommend a visit to Brett to anyone we know visiting Glasgow.

Food was fantastic and felt a fair price for the overall experience with out wait staff being being very attentive, and the sommelier delivering great pairings to go with our dishes. You really made my fiancée's birthday extra special. The only negative is finding somewhere to live up to the quality that the team and the chef delivered in the night!

Honestly the BEST Tartare I’ve had - ever. Period. Aged raw beef, yuzu kosho creme, raw mushrooms, salt cured egg yolk, barley, sesame Just 🤩 The Chorizo is also to die for The KFC (Korean Fried Cauliflower) is just crazy The Jerusalem Artichokes are too good to be true Chefs, hats off. Only issue : you’re too far from where I live:-) You should move to Lyon

Quality menu, with food prepared in front of you if you sit at the counter where chefs may chat about it, makes a great ambience.

I just can't fault Bar Brett. Had such a lovely dinner with friends on 10 March 2023. Truly excellent, original food and outstanding, friendly service. Can't wait to return.

This was an exceptional experience. I have never had food and service of this quality in Glasgow.

The scallops were delicious, the portion was small so I ordered two. We ordered a total of six courses for two people, which was obviously not enough.

Absolute disappointment that you have to pay significantly for. The dishes looked well presented and the service was very good. That is where the good stuff ends. They did not taste up to scratch at all, especially for the prices and given the competition around. Not worth visiting here unless you want to waste your money. Might sound harsh but just being honest.

A wee restaurant with creative dishes. However they’re are a bit pricy as each dish is served in small portions.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service.

Excellent food with enough options to satisfy meat and plant-based diners. Each person in our group had a different favorite, from the falafel in tahini sauce and the beetroot to the roast cauliflower and the chilled coconut rice pudding. The cocktails are so-so and whisky selection is limited. Be sure to make reservations ahead!

Hard to fault this modest sized wine bar and eatery. Turning out unique plates from a small kitchen in front of your eyes. Good service and nice "natural" wines finish it off. Got to try it

Upmarket and vibrant with outdoor seating, a sophisticated drinks menu and fairly complex food offering. A little different from surrounding venues, in a good way. Nice location on GWR and decor is stylish and modern. Staff were pleasant and efficient. The menu seemed a bit over the top to me. But that’s an entirely personal opinion…

Well. Almost a wine bar and tapas restaurant at a location where tasty used to mean two spoons of nescafe. I really hope they do well. I loved the sashimi, the salchichon and the pulpo. Subtle, complex flavors. Some of the other dishes were beyond my pallette - I just got salt and garlic, but please try and decide for yourselves!

I don't really understand the hype around here, was really excited to try it out, and despite the friendly and welcoming staff, the food was flavourless, lacked seasoning, and was just underwhelming. If you are going to charge £9 for one scallop and some butter, hit it out the park. I hate leaving a terrible review, but for the other options available in Glasgow, this was far below standard.

Had some small plates and a bottle of vino-verde - a really nice menu, some interesting dishes, recommend the ox-cheek croquette which was superb, they only serve a house lager on tap which is decent, quite light, but won't be to everyone's tastes, nice decor and good service.

Extremely overpriced yet nothing exceptional about this place. The food is ok (nothing to write home about though) but the ridiculously small portions ruined the experience in my opinion. I see what the place is trying to do but the execution is wrong and comes across as very pretentious. Although initially intriguing, the menu is quite misleading and one of the “mains” was even served with crisps. Note that the “mains” are, at best, the size of a small appetiser. On top of all this, there is a charge for tap water and bread also. Overall disappointment.

Had an amazing time at bar Brett and am looking forward to the next time I can go. I loved the scallop dish, absolute must-try if you like scallops. The wine selection is excellent, I tried the special of the day and the very knowledgeable waiter did not lie - it was exceptional!

This was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Glasgow in the past few years. Bit pricey, but the food, wines, atmosphere and staff were all amazing - definitely worth it. I hope they can rotate the menu so I can have an excuse to go back soon, but highlights for us were the artichoke, squid and beef tartare. The wine selection was also v interesting, and they clearly spend time considering the items on both the wine list and the menu.

I waited for coming back to Glasgow and I heard about it on social media. Perfect evening: value, good from the starters to the desserts. Not to mention the kindness of the working staff. It was worth the wait! Can't wait to get back there!

Very friendly modern restaurant. Big and Small plates with convivial atmosphere and excellent service. Good drinks menu. Pricey but good value.

You can pop in for a pastry and wine... Try the Tokai and crumble, it's like being in heaven, without actually being dead.

Had an absolutely wonderful evening here with my other half. Popped in for a bottle of wine and dinner. Food was fantastic and full of flavour! Service was excellent too! Will definitely be back to try the sprouts!

We booked a table for 5 people and on arrival we were shown upstairs. My worst nightmare is a table with bar stool chairs. I hate them as I am very small. I made a fuss of course and asked if we could possibly sit somewhere else. The waiter was very helpful and quickly made other arrangements for us. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a large main each and shared 3 sides between 5. Could have probably had more sides and bread tbh. One of desert was nice but nothing to write home about but the other which was a honeycomb type mousse was amazing. We had two bottles of wine and a few beers. The total bill was £237 plus a tip. So not a cheap night mostly due to the cost of the wine. Honestly I would recommend the food but I do feel the wine is severely overpriced.

Great experience all round with very attentive service. The yakitori was exceptional (chicken meatballs were a favourite) as was the squid and. The wines on offer were also something special. Will be back!

Can't fault the food. Absolutely delicious, you need to get the squid!! Explanations about portion size were not very accurate though, portions are definitely on the smaller side. Had 3 small plates and thanked god when the waiter brought me bread. We felt rushed to leave our table as well, you only get 1 hour 40 which is not really enough for a dessert or if you're someone who likes to enjoy a relaxed dining experience. Would have happily stayed longer and bought more if we'd been able to.

We came here recently and absolutely loved it! Great selection of natural wine and the food from the grills was tidy af! Highly recommend!

We had a table outside and it was a little cooler. When we sat down though they put the heaters on and evening was cozy and great. The menu was a little different but the food was very good. I found that the lamb was cooked to perfection and the Jersey Royal potatoes were a great accompaniment. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Unplanned visit for a last drink before home-time and wished we'd found it earlier in the night. Excellent design, ethos, food and drink. Service was outstanding: from a flower I was holding being noticed and a glass of water offered for it; the music playlist being shared with my partner to perfectly pitched drinks choices for each of us when we asked for recommendations. We all loved it and will definitely be back for an earlier start next time!

Great food and service. A different take on ingredients. Particularly liked the duck leg, mackerel and oyster/marrow. Well done Team Bar Brett.

Good wine and nibbles selection. Nice decor inside too. Far too expensive though. Charging £7.50 for a glass of house wine will lead to closure in the end. Completely misjudged their market here. Seems like a cheeky attempt to overcharge without paying for the postcode. Won't be back.

Only been here once but really liked the timbre: intimate and good quality with very friendly, helpful staff. It's a tapas style place with inventive plates and what promises to be a good wine list. We will return to explore further. Who knows. Next time it might we'll be five stars!

Excellent small plates and a great wine selection

A small French style wine bar with potential. There is bar food available but menu is limited. Interesting selection of good cheeses. Reasonable range of wines but probably too expensive to ensure a customer base that will return on a frequent basis. Be prepared to spend in excess of £60 a bottle if you wish to take advantage of the majority of the wines on offer. Nice surroundings but rather too cool and the choice of music doesn't fit the style of the bar.
