My birthday meal out was a great disappointment sadly .as I have an onion allergy. Was very little I could eat.i love having fish when out in a restaurant but not to be .!! Ended up either ocupus or beef.so beef it was extremely salty.. wished I'd had the kids fish chips .left feeling very dissatisfied. Everyone else loved the food .not birthday girl

Absolutely scrumptious!! Service was great, our sommelier was very knowledgeable and gave us some very nice wines. Every dish - starters, mains and desserts - was delicious and beautifully presented. There was one veggie in our group and they enjoyed the veg options. An overall, relaxing and luxurious experience. Will definitely be returning ☺️

Friday night dinner with my husband and two friends. Service was outstanding and every single dish was incredibly well presented. Very tasty as well if you like seafood but there were meat and veggie options too. I recommend the house White :)

I was expecting to be amazed and was left astounded at how terrible my experience was. I went with a group of work colleagues. Everything was bad, from the service to the food. We were seated at 6:45pm, and asked if we wanted drinks at 7:15, a full 30 minutes later. We ordered a selection of fish dishes and some had the chicken schnitzel. For £35 for each main, with nothing else included, it was pretty mundane. I've had better fish at both the Bothy and Stravaigin. The schnitzel was terrible, too tough to cut with a standard dinner knife, but it is a fish restaurant so what did we expect. Our food arrived at different times due to a glitch in the computer system, but that can also be forgiven. The main point is that the food was not great for the price. It felt especially strange to have a piece of fish on a plate and that is all. Perhaps add some veggies, garnich, anything! This did not feel like fine dining, it felt like a restaurant exploiting some good reviews to offer rubish.

Fine seafood and excellent service. The octopus starter is oh so good. Don’t hesitate to order this delicious plate. The octopus is cooked sous vide for 3 hours and then finished on a charcoal grill, tender, excellent smokiness and served with crispy chickpeas, tiny peeled tomatoes and a flavourful sauce. Our mains of cod and halibut were perfectly prepared with well thought accompaniments. The sides we ordered were right up to par. Our one critique the mains were not hot but rather just warm. We suspect the mains sat on the pass a bit too long while the crispy smashed potatoes were finished to perfection. The flavours were all so good that we simply enjoyed rather than wait for a refire. We highly recommend this lovely spot.

Hmm, the whole, but very small, lobster which cost a huge £80 somehow came without claws which was a little surprising.

We had the 2 course and 3 course set and they were fantastic!! Although steak in seafood restaurant usually disappointing, it's not the case with Shucks! The steak was very nice and tender. My partner enjoyed the mussels saganaki and the prawn and lobster roll. For us, the star of the meal was the roll. We also had an amazing time with the recommendation and a warm service from Jean/Jane (apologies for forgetting your name!). Will definitely come and visit again.

From start to finish - no faults. We ordered beef tartare, the linguine, the sole , the crab roll and a tuna salad special. For dessert, the crème brûlée and the coconut rice pudding. Each dish better than the other. My partner said this was the best dinner of his life and I would also agree! Great all around service and also lovely to accomodate a mistake on my part to have booked an itison voucher for dinner! Will definitely be back!!

Super lovely evening in Shuck, food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. Ambience is only marked down as the place was nearly empty on a Friday night which is a real shame as the place is a gem!

Ate the most delicious lunch here on Sunday 16th June😁. We shared oysters which were perfect, steak tartare (proper french), and fish dishes. Apart from the amazing food what we really loved was the pace of the service, and easeful vibe. The staff were great and also we had the perfect booth table right by the front window. Happy days. We'll be back soon. 🐟

Dined here tonight with the family and we were not disappointed... ... There is a new favourite in town 😮👀 I'd guess its a training ground from the more prestigious restaurant in the portfolio but do not let that put you off! Super attentive staff, who are all well versed in the wines and courses on offer. They are never too close to the table, but there when you need to order. The oysters were sublime quality, and paired with a tart traditional vinaigrette and an "almost' mastered strawberry and chilli accompaniment. [more strawberry/sugar and salt required imo] White bait (snack) was best in class and devoured by the whole table. Starter was the miso scallop, the best starter dish I've ever consumed, hands down 🙏 Sugar sweet peas, broad beans with an earthy crunch/bite, paired with a super rich/salty miso broth and a scallop, so tender/succulent/crispy/tasty I can only assume was reverse cooked to achieve its structure and taste I went traditional for main... ... half a lobster which comes with fries and garlic sauce. Paired with an equitable portion of all the sides on offer, which really exemplify the chefs vast array of skills/knowledge/seasonable panty/and palate on offer. Desert was a wild card choice. Olive oil sponge with a strawberry preserve and hazlenut creme. Words cannot explain this combination, however complete satisfaction was obtained by all who partook in this course ❤ Take a bow all those involved with Shucks... ... You should be really proud of every dish you serve

Attended Delamotte Champagne Evening, excellent food as usual, appreciated generous measures and tasting additional champagne cocktails to complement food. Attentive service by pleasant staff. Great local asset.

Last night’s Delamotte Champagne tasting menu was excellent. The dinner was warmly hosted by Chris (with able assist by Delamotte’s brand ambassador Cristian). Service was fantastic (thanks, Callum), the food was delicious, and the pairings were sophisticated. Special recognition due to Daisy, whose cocktail pairings were unexpected and pitch-perfect. Thanks, team!

Good mood and nice meals! The price is high especially for Japanese travelers but you can also try Japanese taste ‘dashi’ soup! It tastes great!

Our entire meal was fabulous, starting with a spicy tuna tartare as a snack, followed by gnocchi as a starter and kingfish shank for me. My friends had miso-glazed scallop, crab crumpet and wild halibut. We finished it off with a generous and tasty crème brûlée. The atmosphere was cosy and casual, although the music playlist was an odd mix of "TikTok songs" and throwback tunes. The team was lovely as well!

Beautiful place, really nice staff and delicious food - what more can you ask for? I especially recommend the sole meunière - it was to die for! The rhubarb creme brûlée for dessert was the cherry on top. Definitely our best dinner in Glasgow this time 😊

We celebrated a birthday of my wife, food was delicious and staff was friendly and attentive. The only unexpected thing was the cost of small glass of wine. I think you should let customers know if you offer glass of wine for £18. We felt a bit confused due to this situation anyway this is a great place to visit.

This is a limited review in the sense I only go to the bar. Of a relaxing afternoon in Glasgow's West End, I sometimes find myself drawn to Shucks. A seat at the bar, lovely staff. Some glasses of superb blanc de blanc champagne. Wonderful. The choice of champagne and wine by the glass is excellent. The prices a little bit less so - hence the 4* as opposed to 5*. I haven't eaten there but as it's the Cail Bruich team who own it I'm sure the food is very good. This remains a limited review. I still haven't eaten a meal here. The staff are so good. I'm made to feel so welcome even on a busy Saturday afternoon when everyone else is lunching. Sitting at the bar, the Blanc de Blanc is as delightful as ever. The wine prices seem a little more reasonable. I had a bar snack. There is a reasonable selection. On another day I would have had oysters but I wasn't in the mood. I had ham hough croquettes with burnt apple sauce and a chimichurri topping. Delicious. One of my go to places for a most pleasant afternoon drink.

First time in this restaurant. Nice atmosphere and good service. At first I was thinking that I would like to go back. But, I am not going to. We waited half an hour for our starter my mussels were ok, yet the bread that came with was burned. At this point I was still thinking that it was ok. They were just busy. Well, we also waited a long while for our steak and fries (one rare one medium). Both came rare. I loved it but my mum not so much. So, we ask the waiter to ask the chef to cook the steak a bit more. I just thought at this point that the kitchen might have misread the order or the waiter put it through wrong. Anyway, 5 minutes later the waiter came back with the steak covered in sauce and we could clearly see that the chef never bothered to actually cook the steak further. This made me somehow upset. They cooked a fresh steak after a further complaint. However, I find it is unacceptable the disrespect showed by the chef adding to the fact that we waited so long and I end eating while my mum was watching me and viceversa. I cannot and will not go back.

Delicious food in a chic, warm, slightly nautical environment. Great 80s music playing most of the night. And the service is top notch! Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party and make us feel welcome. We can’t wait to return!

Truly amazing place! It’s not hard to get a space here since I made my reservation just today. Classic decoration and friendly staffs, go for the tasting menu with the scallop for an extra fee. The snacks at the beginning are great, fresh oyster and soft flatbread. After that, king fish, scallop, octopus.. everything within the menu is super delicious and impressive. Besides the food they also have an amazing wine pairing, the fruity Sauvignon blanc with a feeling of tropical fruit really got me. Also don’t forget to get yourself an after dinner cocktail and a small bite snack. The one thing I feel is not quite okay is that one of their staffs seems to always be in a rush, which would give people a feeling of intense.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been! These guys prove, that Scotland has a very good cuisine. The whole evening was fantastic: thx for the amazing oysters, the perfectly matching wine, the smoked olives…. will come back, hopefully soon :)

Interesting menu with a few dishes you don't see elsewhere. The service was friendly and reasonably efficient. The ambience is reasonable without being anything special. From a value perspective, the prices are slightly on the high side but not outrageous.

Disappointing I have three expectations of a restaurant especially of this standard . 1.I received the correct food I ordered. 2. I can eat at the same time as my companions. 3. The food is cooked fresh. None of these were achieved. Three of us celebrating our son buying his first flat on Saturday 22nd June. Only table left was in the bar, which was acceptable to us & we booked it. Starters were lovely. No prob. Our main course order was two chicken & one halibut, three chicken arrived. Everything goes down hill from here. On pointing out the mistake we were given two options by someone very officious, who I can only assume was the manager ,he admitted the mistake was with the kitchen. Option one: two of us eat our main course & the sharing accompaniments while the third person sat & watched while their halibut was being cooked. OR Option two: All the food was taken away & kept under lights in the kitchen pass until the halibut was ready. We wanted to eat together but asked for fresh food to be returned. When it came back the chicken & sides were clearly not freshly cooked but had been kept under said lights. Chicken skin was not crisp but like jelly, prawn stuffing was tasteless & like rubber & the pea side had a skin on it. They got the potato side order wrong again. Apologies were made by the very kind & polite staff who offered us more alcohol which we didn’t want but we never saw the manager again. I must say we did receive a discount on the bill but it didn’t make up for the ruined evening ,bad food or the clumsy management of the situation.

We had such a wonderful time we have already recommended the restaurant to several friends. Our server, Lauren I think, was brilliant. She gave great recommendations for the food and drink. Food was incredible, one of the best meals we have had and definitely the best seafood we've had. We will be back ASAP!

We dined here for a birthday celebration. I can’t say it lived up to expectations set by previous reviews. The service was fine although it took awhile to get our bill despite efforts to catch various people’s attention. The food was tasty but not standout. Certain dishes were disappointingly stingy in size for the price point. Perhaps not coincidentally the dishes with a lower product price were reasonably portioned whilst the more expensive fish dishes were not. The octopus starter is a prime example where the portion was so small I felt they should be embarrassed to serve it. I won’t rush to come back.

It's decked out well. I think the food is ok, place is a bit pretentious. I think they need to perfect the food a bit. Instead of trying too hard to make it upmarket.

Fantastic meal, especially 1 quid oysters. Tasting menu was fantastic and had so much variation with every meal being different and amazing. Our server was great and very chatty and attentive. Only downside was a table of kieths was sat next to us who spent 2 hours loudly talking about Important they each were but that's not the resteraunts fault.

Tried to buy a voucher in person for a friend who lives here. I was told they only do them online and that I’d need to print myself. Given that I don’t live here and / or have access to a printer - pretty hopeless service and hopefully this can be changed.

Loved it. Went for buck-a-shuck £1 oysters and had a great time, food was excellent, drinks were excellent, service was warm and friendly. Had the broccoli and tater tots on the side and like 18 oysters - honestly could have slurped them all night! Really great atmosphere and will defo go back for the Al a carte menu at some point.
