The Marigold Café in Glasgow City

Beautiful food, portion sizes were definitely only for one person most will.need 2/3 dishes. Quite pricey when you do this. Cocktails, drink and food service was good although there were only 1/2 other tables dining. Lights out in most of the gents toilets ....other than that Beautiful.surroundings and we will visit again.

Booked as a last min birthday dinner after plans fell through and all I can say is wow! Food was insanely good with many unique dishes on the menu - we ordered around 10 different plates and everything was outstanding!!! Some seriously talented chefs. Wish we got our waiters name as he made our experience all the better, such a difference to feel so well looked after. Everything was perfect I cannot fault one thing - can’t wait for our next visit!!

Our first visit to The Marigold cafe and it won’t be our last. It’s a beautiful cosy restaurant and the food was amazing. Full of flavour and the portions were a great size. It’s so nice to be able to have so many gluten free options on a menu. The fact it’s dog friendly is an added bonus. Service was excellent. Can’t wait to return again.

Finally! A super well designed restaurant that isn’t minimal (uncomfortable) or stuffy (“classic”). This dining room has both excellent welcoming details and finishes, and offers great comfort/ergonomics. A dining room designed by discerning adults for adults. Service team are very good hosts and attentive. Not just well trained, but people in their element, naturally good at customer service. A rare thing indeed. The papadam and chutney were signaling that this is cuisine and not heavy on ethnic laurels. The proportion of light and crisp papadam was generous. The chutney was fresh and a new take on what often is dull, over-stewed items. We also had the butter chicken, the lamb and roasted aubergine raita. The chicken and lamb were traditional and the raita was again, a very fresh take on something that often is just yogurt sauce. It had great texture and flavor. The crowning dish was something very hard to find here in Scotland - real Marsala Chai. My dining companion who’s been to India several times and had one of her dishes on the cover of Bob Appetite magazine, tells me it is very authentic.

The food is incredible and it's super handy for Kelvinbridge area/underground.

Absolutely fantastic food. Got a mixture of dishes and couldn’t fault a single one. Particularly loved the MFC and butter chicken, but everything was tasty. The cocktails were also fab. Staff were great and the restaurant itself is lovely. Will definitely be back!

Excellent service. The food was excellent. Particularly, the full veg breakfast - the naan was the right amount of soft and crispy. Everything was fresh. This food really exceeded my expectations.

This is a really excellent restaurant. We were made very welcome from the moment we arrived, the menu offered a wide choice of really tasty options all of which were very well presented. Highly recommended.

We made a great decision to scrap the traditional Sunday roast and spent the afternoon grazing on fabulous food in a smart environment being waited on by friendly, informed and attentive staff. Very highly recommended for quality food and drinks and sensible prices. The staff will guide you through the menu if you’d like a little help as they’ve tasted all the dishes themselves. This is a gem!

Called in for late lunch with family, we sat at an outside table in the sunshine! Great service and delicious dishes, would definitely recommend the Black Daal, fried chicken with salt and pepper peanuts, lamb samosas and the Chicken Masala House curry.

Unreal Indian-fusion tapas. So unbelievably underrated - it’s one of the best restaurants we have been to in the city. Service is great. Food is such high quality. Marigold Fried Chicken is our favourite dish.

Excellent food ,place was quite for Sunday lunchtime but service was excellent. Staff were friendly and chatty whilst giving us space to enjoy our food. Will definitely be back. Our friend was visiting for the first time and was full of praise and will be telling her friends.

Very glad we found this cafe whilst out a walk! Great place to stop for a drink and the food was amazing. Really reasonable, good portions and very friendly and attentive staff. Nice outdoor seating for better weather. Will definitely be coming back.

Food is decent and drinks are good too. Only issue is the service charge especially when it's added on when you've just had a couple of drinks. Tips should be optional not mandatory

What an amazing place…wish we had discovered it sooner! The food was amazing (the spiced hasselback potatoes were hard to share!!!) , and the restaurant itself is a beautiful place to enjoy dinner. Fantastic restaurant with lovely atmosphere. My friends and I ate there yesterday and the food was delicious. We all had 2 items from the lunch menu and we enjoyed each of them. Great choice. Drinks menu was extensive and they catered for two of our party who weren’t drinking- adapting cocktails into mocktails for them. Will definitely be back!

6 of us had a lovely meal last night at The Marigold. The menu was excellent with lots of variety, including the vegetarian options. We had a large selection of dishes and each was lovely. The staff were very pleasant too. Thank you.

The decor of the restaurant was beautiful, although slightly ruined by the choice of music they had playing, it's not a nightclub. The service was a little slow. It was a pretty full restaurant with only 2 staff members working. However, after we ordered our food it was pretty fast and tasted nice. Liked the idea of small plates so we could all share but the tacos and bao buns are difficult to share. Marigold Fried Chicken with the peanut sauce stole the show. Would probably go back but not in a rush because I'm worried the service is slow again as they applied service charge on to your bill.

The best brunch I've had in ages - so nice to find somewhere that offers something a bit different. Delicious Indian-inspired food, beautifully prepared drinks, and lovely staff. Massively recommend.

My favourite place in west end. Usually come here lunch time. Staff are very friendly and nice to my kids too. Lunch time it’s not too busy and we can eat and relax. Food is great here, some sort of Indian fusion?? Tastes all good anyway. I always order fried chicken, my favourite!

Highly recommend Marigold. Just off G Western Road, it’s a gem of a restaurant - excellent food and too notch staff. Between 4, we tried a range of dishes, the highlights for us being the Cauliflower Malai, five spice chicken and Indian-style Shepherd’s pie. We’ll be back to try more of the menu I’m sure!

Absolutely loved this restaurant. The staff were so lovely and friendly. The decor inside is gorgeous and is so cosy with a lovely atmosphere. We went for a few tapas dishes and they were delicious. The Marigold Fried Chicken was particularly amazing, as were the masala fries and naan bread. Will definitely be back!

For us, a good bar/restaurant combines great service, fantastic food and drink, a good ambience and attention to detail. Thank you! You deliver all of these. We’ve lived in the West End for a number of years and this is a favourite spot of ours. We just love it! Our favourite dish is your ‘MFC’. The deep fried prawns were a wee bit small today, so consequently a little on the dry side, but I don’t like to complain when you are all working so hard and in such a polite and efficient manner. We’ll be back as soon as we can.

Food was poor. Ordered Popadoms, got some monster munch instead. Hassleback potatoes were undercooked, lamb in the slider was smaller than the tomato slice. Food all sounded good but was really disappointing

Well I've had to give them one star to put the review on but didn't even get to eat here. Booked a table a week in advance for 9.30pm for last Saturday night. At 8.40 pm they rang us saying we needed to be there by 9 as the kitchen closes at 9.15...they told us that it was an error that we were able to book the table for this time...their booking site even has slots advertised til 10pm. We'd just bought a drink in the pub up the road so other than downing it or leaving it we clearly couldn't make it with such short notice so had to forfeit the meal. I wouldn't mind so much but we'd paid for taxis (£25 round trip) to get us to this part of town specifically to go to the restaurant. Then they had the cheek to email to say that we'd cancelled the table.. absolute insult as we had no chance then to get in somewhere else.

My wife and I were attending The Stand comedy club, Glasgow for a birthday treat. It was my responsibility to find a restaurant near to the venue, that’s when I found The Marigold Cafe which had positive reviews. This is a tapas restaurant, on our arrival we were shown to our seats by a very pleasant young man, we were then greeted by an equally pleasant young lady who explained that 3 small plates each would more than enough and she wasn’t wrong. The food was fantastic. All in all we had a wonderful experience, I’m delighted we found this little gem and we will definitely be back.

First visit here. Really nice venue. Staff were friendly and moved us to a better table when it one was available. Food was good and arrived quite quickly. Would recommend the Dahl and fried chicken. Took a while to get our drinks both times but it looked like there was only one person on the bar. I think we’ll be back to try some of the dishes we didn’t manage to this time.

We visited after seeing a review online. Lovely surroundings with a mix of modern & vintage decor. Staff were very friendly & smiley from the start. The menu was very different, with a mix of lunch & brunch options, all with a spicy/ Indian twist. Loads of flavours which all worked well together. I had a chilli paneer flatbread with hassleback potatoes & my husband had a breakfast Naan with masala fries. Everything was delicious. Only slight negative was that the drinks were quite dear.

I’ve come to Marigold Cafe often since it opened. It’s a really relaxing environment, the food is great quality and the service is impeccable. As a balance I think it deserves 5 stars as each area of experience is high quality. I’ve been at different points during the day with different groups and it’s always been the same. My friends describe it as an “out of London Dishoom” because it’s better priced and nicer food.

Very expensive. Order cauliflower courgetes they were the sizes of a malteser. The plates were tiny. Wont be back

Third time visiting The Marigold Cafe Glasgow and this is fast becomming one of my favourite eateries in the city. Firstly, the place is absolutely stunning…stunning. The drinks / cocktail menu is superb and the food is out of this world. The Shepherd’s Pie was my favourite last time we visited for dinner. Today the wife and I went for a boozy brunch, the breakfast nan was amazing and my wife’s eggs Ben with a sriracha hollandaise was out of this world. Couple of exceptional Bloody Marys (spicy) and I’m a happy boy. The staff are all super friendly too. Full FIVE STARS from us. Keep up the great work Team Marigold.

This is a great find for pre-event dining. Great Indian street food, great service and a nice atmosphere- it’s always a bit quiet midweek before 7! Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

First time visit. We enjoyed it but were not wowed. Group of 8 and all agreed that it was a nice place, our server was great, but the food was average. Plenty of options for food in Glasgow and won’t be rushing back but glad we visited

Very long wait times (long wait time to order, from there it took 50 mins for food to arrive). Can’t understand how the kitchen was ‘backed up’ so early in the day. Drinks order was wrong. Was offered free drinks due to food delay, fair enough. Bill came with automatic 10% service charge - had to ask to be removed. Food was fine but can’t recommend this place.

While the food and service were great, it's one of the few restaurants we've been to this winter where it's actually been warm and cosy, even downstairs in the basement toilets.

Not a busy time with it being January, but food and service were excellent, every dish we got was great, will definitely be back!

This restaurant is absolutely superb! Food is a modern fusion of Indian flavours with strong Scottish, and international touches, melded into fantastically novel flavours. If you love Indian food and Scottish food you’ll love this quirky combo. As a table of 9 adults and teens we had a large selection from the menu and honestly everyone loved everything. Staff are excellent, polite, attentive, friendly and professional. Decor is beautiful and stylish too. It’s a 10/10 from us!

Beautiful lunch! Staff were warm, welcoming and relaxed and the decor is beautiful. We had a cocktail to start (Ruby Daiquiri) which was fruity, tangy and sweet followed by some Pinot Grigio. My little boy had waffles from the brunch menu while the adults opted for the 2 for £10 day menu. The food was delicious. We got the Marigold Fried Chicken (the butter sauce with it was so tasty), salt and chilli spring rolls, hassle back potatoes and honey chilli chicken bao buns and masala fries. We had the gulab jamun sundae which was nice - we just needed a bit more gulab and sauce to ice cream ratio. Was a lovely treat and we will certainly be back.

Lovely cafe bar atmosphere. Friendly service and some nice food. Quirky selection of crossover indian/asian/european dishes. Highlight was the house special cottage pie (delicately spiced up), closely followed by lamb parcels and spring rolls. Reasonably priced. Two dishes per person is plenty.
