It wasn't bad but it wasn't spectacular either. The lunchbox has a cheap price but that is because the portion is also small.

We had Podi Dosa, Idly Vada & Chicken Kodi Veppu. It is after a long time the dishes tasted authentic when far away from home.

This place is amazing. The masala and chicken dosas are simply delicious, without mentioning the butter chicken curry, which is sumptuous. Plus, the price is super reasonable. Overall, this restaurant is a true gem.

Fabulous meal here. Both vegan n omni choices and cooked freshly upon order we had 2 vegan lunch specials and they were fabulous!! Well worth a visit.. great prices too !

I am very disappointed from Madras dosa test is very good but portion of lunch special chicken curry reduced this time One small piece of chicken and too less curry.

Immature girl taking wrong order and trying to justify she was right. Ordered chicken Biriyani and she was talking with kitchen staff and the rice kept in microwave given half cold rice with one small piece of meat. This is the second time bad experience with her attitude. Used ti be good not anymore with their standards

We have visited quite a few times and loved their dosas but we set a very high standards for this outlet for Saturday Hyderabadi biryani. While today(22.05.2025) we picked a chicken biryani and my utter surprise that biryani wasn't fresh ,chicken and rice was hard(frozen and the thawed) ,this is what happens when you serve food after reheating multiple times. I am quite sure if they made it freshly then it would have been of great taste.£10.99 was charged for very small portion and stale taste. This wasn't expected. May be we are unlucky.

I love the food here, especially malabar paratha and masala chana. Masala dosa is decent but I feel masala needs to be more tasty with some salt. Otherwise so good.

Had an amazing experience here! The biryani was packed with flavor, and the paratha was perfectly soft and flaky. You can really tell the chef knows their stuff. The service was super friendly and attentive, making the whole meal even better. Thanks Haripriya for serving us even during the break time. Definitely coming back for more!

Food was great. Served piping hot and fresh. We got a big selection to share between our group, and my favourites were the butter paneer, roti and cauliflower pakora. Really good options for vegetarians and vegans here. Wish there was a bit of music or radio in the background, but otherwise great wee place.

Cuatro de nosotros fuimos aquí por recomendación de mi sobrino, que es un asiduo. La única crítica fue que el sitio web y TA dicen que está abierto todo el día el sábado. Aparecimos a las 16. 35 (estábamos en un día de madrugada) y estaba cerrado. La persiana estaba parcialmente abierta en la parte inferior, así que llamamos y uno de los empleados salió a decirnos que no abrieron hasta las 5 pm, pero nos invitó a esperar. Esto no era un problema importante, ya que habíamos traído nuestro propio vino / cerveza (no hay bar) y podíamos sentarnos y charlar con una bebida mientras esperamos. Pedimos una gama de entrantes de red y dosas. No puedo recordar todos los detalles, pero terminamos con una mesa cargada con la mejor comida india. Fue maravilloso y a un precio muy razonable. Had just gotten here from the motherland, and was missing some South Indian breakfast food. Was pleasantly surprised that they served dosa here for an affordable price. I got a chicken dosa with paneer which I had never tried before, but it was fantastic. All the chutneys were so good as well, and the entire dish was so filling. I got a chai as well, which they served in the steel bowl and cup system that they do back home! - I got super excited when I saw this - it was like being home for breakfast 💕 The staff here are really friendly as well :) Will definitely come here again the next time I’m craving some South Indian food 🥘

Ayer por la tarde, compré tres biryanis en tu casa. Soy de Chennai y actualmente soy turista aquí. ¡Esta fue la peor experiencia de mi vida! Sirviste biryani viejo, recalentado en el microondas, y ni siquiera se calentó correctamente. Había solo dos trozos de pollo diminutos, y el tamaño de la porción era muy pequeño. Pagué 32 libras, ¡y fue un completo desperdicio de dinero! La comida era demasiado aceitosa, y la calidad era inaceptable. He adjuntado una foto como referencia. I was in here with my mates and we were a little skeptical with our food choices but the restaurant didn't disappoint us. If you want a taste of authentic south Indian food then I would highly recommend Madras Dosa. The owner who is also the head chef came over and had a chat with us about how all the dishes are his own recipes. I would definitely keep coming back.

Went there for dinner. We took set menu which included plain rice, chicken curry, chana masala, one piece parata and papadram and chicken dum biriyani Which served with rita. All the foods were nice and delicious. Highly recommended for others. Price is also less than others.

We dined in at the restaurant. Do not rely on first impressions. If I had not be recommended this restaurant I would probably not have ventured in as first appearances it does not look like somewhere that would offer good food. But looking past appearances we ventured in. Not familiar with the dishes we asked the waitress to guide us. The food that came was excellent and full of new surprises. Quizzing the waitress, she was very knowledgeable on the dishes informing us how the food presented was from southern India. Having not eaten most of the dishes before I was very pleasantly surprised and would certainly go back for more! Great value for money. I would even pay more if the restaurant were to have a make over

I’ve been here multiple times and most of the times it’s been nice, but I visited today and the service, food and quantity all three were lacking. We ordered a big portion of curry and only got three small pieces. The service wasn’t the best this time and the masala dosa we ordered had almost zero salt. Madras dosa used to be a go to place for me weekend comfort food but I’ve been doubting it after my last visit. 🙏

Authentic Tamil / South Indian food. Good dosai as per the name, and their malabar parottas are great when eaten fresh. We were also pleasantly surprised by their samosas, which are more authentic than most around. At busy times, food can take a while.

The Food was excellent as always. The Vegetarian Options are plenty.

I had a chicken Dosa with Poppadoms and a hot spicy gravy type sauce to dip or pour. The food was exceptionally tasty and fresh. I am a big eater and finished everything easily but was not still hungry!. The area has lots of ethnic restaurants and takeaways with the menus in their native languages so I knew the food would be authentic and fresh. It is a small place with a fairly open kitchen and 4-5 small tables. The couple that were running the place were very nice and pleasant and I think it is a family business. Having never tried Dosa I thought it would be a safe bet as their signature dish and I was not disappointed There's nothing flashy or high end here, just good quality traditional food and friendly service. For any Scottish locals, do not be intimidated if these places are full of Asian people. It just means the food is great, you will be made very welcome 🤗

I had an amazing Donne biryani 🥺😍. It reminded me of south India. I have never had such amazing biryani through out England and Scotland . I would highly 100% recommend to eat Biryani and also the dosa smells like proper South Indian Dosa (Andhra, Telangana and Chennai ) .

A cozy spot with limited seating, but great food. Though the full menu wasn't available during our visit, it worked out perfectly since we came for dosa and weren’t disappointed. The ghee masala dosa with three chutneys and sambar made for a truly satisfying lunch.

Our favourite most authentic South Indian wee restaurant in Glasgow. Food is always tasty and authentic with fresh ingredients. Lovely and super helpful staff, chill atmosphere and BYOB. Stunningly decorated with murals by a local artist (a marriage of Indian and Scottish art). Highly recommend

First Dosa and will 100% want another from here. Lovely greasy spoon vibes and quick service. Lamb dosa was so tender and the sauces/broth were just the right levels of spice. Very good prices too

Never thought I would get authentic South Indian (read Tamil Nadu) style food in Glasgow! Madhras Dosa is a cut above the rest of the cookie cutter Indian restaurants in UK, who serve a mish-mash of broad spectrum Indian food that mainly comprise of pakoras and kormas! Here there an array of idli and dosa to choose from, served with a trio of chutney (white coconut, coriander and tomato) with fresh drumstick sambar made in typical Tamil Nadu style. We started off with some spicy tomato rasam that hit the right spot considering the brutal 2 degree weather outside. We then moved on to plain dosa and a chicken dosa that was equally outstanding, and washed down the spicy with a jug full of chilled mango lassi. South Indian first curry, some steamed rice and a Chicken 65 followed. Each dish was better that the other and our Indian food starved taste buds were in culinary heaven. We were offered some Chettinad style lamb biryani made the authentic zeerage samba rice; the owner was testing a new recipe and kindly offered us a portion to sample. The taste and texture of lamb and rice hit the ball out of the park. Paired with a mellow yoghurt raita this spicy biryani (hopefully) will be an upcoming addition on their menu. I think we’re lucky to sample it, considering we were only in Glasgow for a day! Fabulous restaurant, small and homely, serving up some excellent, authentic Tamil fare! Must try if you are in Glasgow and are craving a taste of home.

I ordered food in Uber eats on 18 sep 2024 1 non veg set meals (No soft drink given) 1 chicken biriyani (No Chicken at all it’s just Rice) 1 chilli chicken (Not received ) It’s not good and a bad experience I will not recommend this place to anyone

Después de haber viajado mucho por la India y cocinado y comido comida india durante toda mi vida adulta, me sorprende decir que esta joya escondida de un lugar sirvió dos de los currys más sabrosos que he probado. ¡Así de bueno! Teníamos la sosa Masala, pollo Kurma del sur de la India, pollo con chile y ajo, arroz y popadomas x 2 ; un mango lassi para terminar - cambio de £ 40 ! Los currys no son demasiado aceitosos, perfectamente divididos y el equilibrio de sabor es otro mundano. El lugar estaba lleno de muchas mesas que complementan la comida y cuando hablé con dos adolescentes dijeron que sus Thalis eran excepcionales. Ojalá les hubiera hecho una foto sonriendo. No es un espacio enorme, pero el equipo es súper servicial y vale la pena esperar. Todo el personal realmente parecía preocuparse por toda la experiencia y el lugar estaba impecable. Recomiendo encarecidamente cenar para que la comida sea la prevista - directamente desde el chef a su mesa (pero eso es cierto para la mayoría de los alimentos). En resumen, si te gusta la comida del sur de la India, o si quieres probar algo nuevo y hacer feliz a tu barriga, ve aquí. Muchas gracias equipo - ya estoy deseando nuestra próxima visita.

Hands down, the best dosa I’ve ever had! The chicken korma was delicious as well. While the seating and atmosphere is not what I was impressed with and what it lacked made up with the quality of the food!

Aayushi was the most brilliant host. The dosa’s were phenomenal!!! The paneer butter masala was not the best but the Malabar parotta so fresh so perfectly made!!! 10/10 recommend. Aayushi was so nice and helpful with some very great suggestions too. Defos deserves a bonus will be visiting again ❤️☺️

Great, quick, and super tasty! The service was super friendly but really efficient. Note that it's very small (only about 6-8 tables) but as the food comes out so fast, you won't be waiting long if it is full. Pictured is the King Dosa.

Having travelled extensively in India and cooked and eaten Indian food for all of my adult life, I’m amazed to say that this hidden gem of a place served up two of the tastiest curries I’ve ever had. It’s that good. We had the masala dosa, South Indian Chicken Kurma, Garlic Chilli Chicken, rice and popadoms x 2; one mango lassi to finish - change from £40! The curries are not overly oily, perfectly portioned and the taste balance is other worldly. The place was packed with many tables complimenting the food and when I spoke with two teenage lads they said their Thalis were exceptional. I wish I had taken a photo of them grinning. It’s not huge but the team are super accommodating and it’s worth the wait. All the staff genuinely seemed to care about the whole experience and the place was spotless. I highly recommend dining in so the food is as intended - straight from the chef to your table (but that’s true for most foods). In short, if you love South Indian food, or if you’d like to try something new and make your tummy happy, go here. Thank you so much team - I’m already looking forward to our next visit.

Mi sobrino me recomendó Madhras Dosa, así que mi amigo y yo fuimos allí para almorzar ayer. Fue una delicia, tan poco típico de los restaurantes indios estándar... y así, mucho mejor. Los platos de tapas que comimos estaban recién hechos y absolutamente deliciosos, así como todo lo demás que tuvimos. Sin duda volveremos. Gracias por un almuerzo encantador lleno de sorpresas encantadoras.

By far the best and most authentic south Indian food outside of India. Tried many things on the menu - idly sambar, vada sambar, multiple varieties of dosa, uthappam and filter coffee - everything was delicious. Service was great. A must visit on any trip to Glasgow.

Big fans of the old banana leaf but Madhras Dosa is even better, food was delicious and the service was excellent - even made sure we didn’t order too much food! BYOB as well - overall bill was very reasonable. Would recommend!

I took my 10yr son as he has decided to become a vegetarian with the misses and we had a wonderful meal here. The Malsla Dosa and Samba was fantastic as was the Lamb Dosa. It's a very low key place to eat more like a cafe and was very friendly and welcoming.

Had dosa with family, The experience was delightful! The Dosa was perfectly crispy on the outside, with a soft and flavorful filling inside. The accompanying chutneys and sambar were fresh and well-balanced, complementing the dish perfectly. The service was excellent as well. The staff was attentive, polite, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, making the overall dining experience very enjoyable. Thank you for the wonderful meal and service. We love the the food here and it is amazing and really authentic. We come here regularly whenever we need an indian food fix. However, for the past few visits, the waitress had been really rude to us. her attitude changes and she was nicer to other customers around us. when she takes our order, it seems like she was annoyed at us and looked at a different direction when we placed our order. We were also not aware that curries are charged by portion size, when we placed the order, we weren't told about it, only until the bill arrives, we only realized there are different charges. The owner was really nice to us when he's in once but whenever this waitress is in, we do not know what to expect in terms of her attitude as it had already happened a few times and it made us feel really uncomfortable. Food is definitely 10 out of 10 but the attitude of the waitress is ruining the experience for us.

Absolutely love this place to bits, a Glasgow institution! Amazing original South Indian food, including my absolute favourite Mysore Masala Dosa (superhard to get in the UK). Only a couple simple tables and more of a takeaway atmosphere than a sit down restaurant but that's part of its charme. Service is super friendly and the food is always incredible!
