Rickshaw & Co in Glasgow City

Loved the look of the restaurant and was impressed with the decor as different from other restaurants in the surrounding area. Has a small outdoor area and a mezzanine floor. First impressions were very good. However, hugely disappointed with the food. We were recommended to choose 3 dishes and realised when presented with the mains that the portions are very small. The chicken was overcooked and dry. A rice dish also very dry. So sadly won't go back.

I dined at Rickshaw for the first time yesterday evening 21/3/25. Excellent service, food and generous portions. . I must mention and praise the Lamb Lajawab, definitely a winner. "I'll be back."

Worst place to eat. The portion size was so bad. Not worth the money and the manager’s behaviour was not friendly at all. Never going back to this place ever.

Lovely atmospheric and delicious food. Really good value for money. The okra fries and butter chicken were amazing.

We had Pav Bhaji, Beetroot Bature & Chicken roll and one Rose Lassi, all of which tasted really good with moderate masala and not spicy either. We will definitely visit again.

Lovely find via Google maps. Arrived on a Monday night and it was quiet but there was steady stream of customers. The food is served like tapas so they recommend around three dishes per person consisting of a starter a main and a rice / bread. We were served quickly and the food arrived piping hot after not to long a wait. Everything was tasty and we sent only dirty dishes back to the kitchens. If in the area ..highly recommend this place.

Everything we ordered was delicious but I will highly recommend the Beetroot chole bhature.

NIce place seating up and down styled well (4.5 is my score ) staff were friendly and attentive . Big central bar so some will love some may feel over sized unless you had many drinking at the bar socially. The decor is intresting and nice from outside open plan light and entertaining. Food is 4+ based on what it is, price and your preference. small plates again. Spiced right in flavor and heat but many restaraunts in glasgow are lacking a genuine own take as they please the crowds. with traditional menus and presentation. Naan nice ,i took left overs back and enjoyed next day. King prawn is large but i believe thier jumbo prawn was more to what i'm used to as king and then jumbo i see as more like long open lobter style (but thats variation and preference). Would i recommend trying ,yes i would ,would i go again yes i would .

Wow! What a wonderful evening. The staff were soo lovely, informative and attentive. We had Lamb lajawap and Chatpata chicken with the Cauliflower dhansak. All good, particularly the chicken. But the star of the show was the coconut naan bread. The best I have ever had by a country mile. The portions are not vast but we struggled to finish ours. What a find. We will be back. It's next door to the Three Judges which is a very genial pub and not far away is the Liosmor bar which is named after our home. In other words a great location!

Review for takeaway food. Ordered from here through Uber eats, food was very poor quality, arrived lukewarm to cold, was likely sent out lukewarm. Charging main meal prices for starter sized portion, chicken tikka barely saw a grill and was almost cold, curry sauce was tasteless, wings were slimy and tiny, cauliflower dhal was also tiny and lukewarm. Chicken pakora was dry with hardly any batter on it, seemed re-heated. Naan bread was good though. Overall seriously bad value for money and food quality was mediocre at best. First and last time eating from here.

Best Lamb Jalawabab with black pepper,I have tasted.Liked the Roti,done in clay oven,instead of Chapati,rice pilau up to standard.Has a rusty feel upstairs with corrugated walls,gives it patina,but rest done out in colourful Indian style, even a Rickshaw at entrance.Hidden away 💎 gem.

Yesterday we visited there, 10/10 for decor of the restaurant, but food was not good. Garlic naan were not at all fresh I think they were Re-heated. We asked for to make our spicy but Unfortunately it was not spicy as well. Not Happy 😔

This is an amazing place to try desi authentic chaat dishes. Absolutely loved the ambience of the restaurant.

We had such a feast in here! One of the best places to get a curry in Glasgow. Also the first to get fresh sugarcane juice. You can takeaway too. Really amazing experience, easily one of the best Indian restaurants in Glasgow. My partner and I really enjoyed our meal, especially okra fries, lamb chops , and tandoori jumbo prawns. Plenty of variety in vegetarian options as well as unique Indian street food. We hope to be back soon!

Great food at great price and many choices for vegetarians (the paneer dishes are delicious). Particularly love the chicken biryani and the mutter paneer.

BEST INDIAN IN GLASGOW!! Food is worth for money and extremely tasty. Restaurant is not crowded and compact where tables are a few inches next to each other like other restaurants and service is polite and helpful. Wouldn’t change anything about my experience. Had the butter chicken, Chatpata chicken, Indian chicken green curry, lamb lajawab, Bengali king prawn curry and prawn koliwada with 4 garlic naan, 1 Roghani naan, 1 paratha to share among 4 people…out of this world.

Came as a group of 3 with a booking. Overall, it was a lovely meal. We got 4 curries, 3 starters, 2 rice and a naan. Standout curry was the lamb lajawab from chef's choices. Not quite a 5 star review as drinks service was slow, one drink didn't arrive and we had to chase for it. We also ordered 2 cocktails which we were told they didn't have that evening so ordered different drinks instead but the cocktails were left on the tab. We weren't charged and the staff were very apologetic for having not removed it. However I do think service was just slightly under scratch. Otherwise the meal was delicious, lovely environment and enjoyable sharing size curries.

Low prices, average food, terrible service We ate as a group here, I had been wanting to try the place for ages because the reviews have been so good, having eaten there myself now I find those positive reviews quite confusing as they don't reflect our experience at all. The positives are that the prices are on the low side for an Indian restaurant in Glasgow, the portion sizes reflect that but at the same time you don't leave feeling like you've overeaten, so that's a good thing. The food itself is average at best, there are many, many restaurants in Glasgow that do this so much better. Some of them within an easy walk of this place - you'd think they'd up their game in the face of such competition but maybe the low price point is their USP. The service was appalling. We had to wait ages for any kind of service, whether it was getting drinks, ordering food or even getting the bill. More than once we had to wave to try and get some attention, at one point one of us had to get up and ask for service. We even had the waiter walk away in the middle of taking the order at one point and took so long to come back we were starting to wonder if we'd ever see him again! Based on the mediocre food and the poor service, it's very unlikely we'll be back. I was personally embarrassed as it had been my suggestion to the group that we go. The place even had some "awards" on display in the restaurant area, I can only assume they were purchased from Etsy. No self-respecting awards body would think this place deserved any kind of recognition. Very disappointing.

Best indian I've ever eaten. Loved the decor and the atmosphere. Gaint tandoori king prawns to die for. Curry's are authentic. Can't wait to go back.

Second time here and again didn't disappoint. Requested to sit in upper deck on booking form but was seated in lower deck. Food was amazing. The garlic tandoori chicken and garlic naan is the best ever. My friend had the paneer dish which also looked lovely. A great all round experience.

Service was slow! Table booked for 630 we didn’t get starters till 730 and then mains at 930 table was building up with glasses common sense prevails or the lack of it by the waiting staff Otherwise food was spot on and reasonably price

Am very disappointed at the quality and quantity of the food here. It is not authentic at all. The vada pav had tomato in it almost like a burger, the pav bhaji was like a thick paste and served cold, and the golgappe were okay, the pani could’ve had more flavour. This restaurant seems to be mostly catered to the local palette, if you are south Asian I do not recommend visiting. The service was also a bit of a disappointment as well. The concept and atmosphere of this place is great, but apart from aesthetics this place doesn’t have much to offer.

Excellent meal. Went with my daughter pre-show. Vegetarian but recommendations made. Paneer maharani delicious. Paneer cooked just right. Highly recommended.

Food was good. Items took lot of time to arrive after order placed. 30 minutes was long wait for mains. But taste wize food was good. Mocktails excellent. Appetisers were very good.

Tasty food and reasonable pricing

Really nice restaurant with beautiful decor, food was delicious, so many different flavours and different from usual Indian restaurants and to add to it we received excellent service from Ankita! Highly recommended.

Disappointed with the service. We were a table of 8, had booked for 7.30pm then server asked if we were ok with the food coming out as it was ready, so some of us didn’t order pakora, as it was the pakora came out first with a time lag to the main course, one of our party was gluten free and their dish arrived well before everyone else’s, and all the ‘main’ courses arrived at 9.10pm. It didn’t seem particularly busy. That said the food was lovely but there was a wait.

Seen this place advertised and was so excited to try it out. Met with a cold greet(or you can say none)Then we were grunted at that there will be a wait for a table which is fine if the place was busy, we were expecting some kind of waiting on a Saturday in Partick. We felt so uncomfortable as the time went on and decided to go to another restaurant but shame we were willing to try somewhere new. Basic politeness and kindness goes a long way especially with many other establishments within walking distance.

First visit but certainly won't be the last! Lovely busy restaurant with a great vibe. Food came quickly and was full of flavour. Pakioras excellent!! The staff were super with excellent customer service. Our server was Faria who was just so lovely and really added to our very enjoyable experience.

Wonderful food and excellent service. Dolly was a great help when we were deciding what to eat. Her suggestions were excellent. We will be back.

One of the best Indian restaurants.

I cannot fault this place in any regard. I'm Indian and the food is top-tier: I've tried everything from starters to dessert and it is some of the most delicious food I've had anywhere. Servers are highly attentive and want to know you've had a good time. I've come here at different times of the day and regardless of how busy they might be I've never felt rushed. The decor is simply delightful and coming to Rickshaw is an occasion to look forward to every time.

Chanced on this restaurant on the way to a gig. Absolutely delightful. The food was excellent and the menu really different. The dahl was simply gorgeous, Chicken wings starter was delicious. food was perfectly spiced with plenty of fresh herbs and spices. I would go again to try some other dishes. well portioned too. staff really friendly and helpful. recommend a visit

Really liked the whole experience, normally it’s just the food , but the whole decor and feeling is genuinely Indian. The food was fantastic and the choice really brought back memories of travelling in India, if you want to recapture the best bits of Indian cuisine this place is a must. There are Indian puddings and sweets as well we finished with Ras malai, perfect finish to a great evening. Thank you

Best food ever ….. tandoori king prawn thank me later

Collected a carryout, had ordered the poppadom and onion platter and opened it to find no onions. One of my favourite parts of an indian takeaway so very disappointed! Happens far to often these days! Not good enough! Robbed!

Eaten in the restaurant and ordered home delivery and same exceptional quality. Just a cut above other places and great quality. Absolute hidden gem. Staff have always been lovely, great with 2 of us and then just as good with 20 of us.

We went to this restaurant when we were visiting Scotland. I have not tasted such good and homely Indian food in Indian Restaurants back in India! Good Indian food in India is found in homes, not restaurants. And that's what this place reminded us of! Eating at someone's home! Non-greasy delicious food! The naan and mutter paneer was absolutely brilliant. My partner loved her lamb and naan as well. I almost don't want to come back here to give a chance to ruining such a good wholesome memory of Indian food.

Such an amazing restaurant with fabulous food and service. The food is great quality and clearly prepared fresh, so is worth the short wait. Every dish was delicious and reasonably priced. The garlic naan was the best I’ve tried for some time. I loved every dish and just with this restaurant was in my home town. The pina colada cocktail and house lager are well worth a try. What a fabulous restaurant! Food was amazing, service outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful. Plus just need to add ive never seen a restaurant cleaned within an inch of it's life as this restaurant!No complaints, highly recommend, forgot to order the tandoori prawns so can't wait to go back to sample those. Back again and got the tandoori prawns, fantastic! As was everything else, food was absolutely delicious.The staff are so nice and the service is is outstanding. It's also a beautifully decorated restaurant, can't wait to go back again.

So yeah I like it. The atmosphere is fun. The fact they serve authentic pani puri (golgappa) automatically elevates their food above most Indian food restaurant zombie clones in Glasgow. The rest of the food was playful and tasty so top marks there. What lets them down is the service. When we went it was quiet and the service was "ok" (apart from all the dishes being delivered more or less together). However as the place filled up, while there seemed to be enough servers they were disorganized and uncoordinated. That's a shame considering they got everything else right..

Ordered through Uber Eats and the food is lovely. The portion sizes are fine too however £2.29 delivery along with service fee is a little too much, if it was way lesser, I would order from here more times.

Okay place. Few item are good and few are worst. I ordered chilli chicken and the chicken is frozen and samosas are also like halidram frozen one.

Without a doubt one of the best and most authentic Indian restaurants in Glasgow. Having spent some time in India in 2023, I can honestly say that this has been our best experience since we've returned. Each and every dish faultless and so reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend highly!

We went for a quick lunch and stayed for some lovely masala chai. It was incredible. You need to try the masala chai with no milk (I was recommended to try it by one of the servers farya since I don’t like milk). She was so accommodating and attentive. I loved the vibe and decor was unique. Would definitely recommend.

I was dining with my daughter and granddaughter, both grownups, and we had a wonderful experience. The food was exquisite, the staff were excellent and attentive, the atmosphere was uplifting and we will definitely be regulars from now on. Thank you ☺️.

Used an itison voucher for the tiffin lunch. Food was lovely, excellent chicken pakora. Curry and sides lovely too. Not a fan of Dahl so next time when choosing from the full menu would give that a miss. Service was excellent throughout. A couple of desserts weren't available but enjoyed the gulab juman. Definitely worth a visit. Nicely decorated also. Dog friendly also which was great for me.

Rickshaw has become my go-to spot for delicious Bangladeshi and Indian food. It's rare to find a restaurant here so committed to authenticity and customer satisfaction. Their student-friendly prices with large portions is a rare find.

I tried Bangladeshi Street Food for the first time at Rickshaw & Co. and have been back several times since because the flavour and quality of the food is amazing. The staff are always very helpful and attentive and overall there is just such a lovely atmosphere here. Highly recommend visiting Rickshaw & Co. and I know I'll be back again soon.

Nicely decorated restaurant albeit a bit on the chilly side. Took around 20 mins before orders were taken, restaurant wasn’t busy. Starters of chilli paneer- nice , vada pau - different but tasty, chicken pakora - disappointing. All could have been warmer. Curry’s were good, garlic Nan amazing, paratha wasn’t the best. Drinks were good. Overall positives - nice food, pleasant surroundings. Negatives - starters could’ve been warmer as could the restaurant. Don’t like dogs in eating establishments and certainly not sitting on the chairs, do us all a favour and keep them at home !

Always a wonderful treat! Love the staff and the ambience! We were talking about missing chai from back home and the staff actually gave us complimentary chai which was such a generous gesture!! Will come back for more!

I had moved to Glasgow for a bit and it was my first time living away from home and my mom’s cooking. Coming from a South-East Asian background, food and specifically the usage and combinations of spices means a lot to me and that’s why I find a lot of comfort when I go to Rickshaw and Co. Every visit to Rickshaw (I’ve lost count by now) has me satisfied, smiling and a full happy belly. Also, I really like how they allow us to customize the spice level so it can really hit the spot and cure my ‘homesickness’ for my mom’s cooking. I also reaaaally appreciate that it’s TAPAS style so I can try a little bit of everything while on a budget. The staff and manager are sooo pleasant and friendly to engage with. I go so often, I lowkey consider some of the staff as my friends lol. They make really fun drinks and the ambience in general is very wholesome. The decor is to die for and you can really tell the amount of effort the Rickshaw team has put into this restaurant. The best Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant in Glasgow!!✨

I found one of the most confusing staff with wrong order. The food i changed all including in the bill. I was so much disappointed that i had to formally put a complaint in.

Surprised and impressed with this restaurant. Venue is quite chirpy in character. Staff are very attentive. Food choices are great with a tapas style approach suggestive to order multiple dishes. Surprisingly filling and very tasty. We all enjoyed the quality and taste of food presented. Very reasonably priced as well. Will visit here again.

Well sorry for the terrible reviews but i was totally disappointed about having something to eat. It was an English girl and i had queries about few items and the changes in order, all mixed up/Wrong dinner was served. Like who drink tea with cocktail but i didnt think to say anything as it was Sunday. I feel they should give a min to listen what the person finally wants and what has been cancelled. And the portions for take away, i mean i am not non veg bug i bought for someone shrimp 4-5 in count for£6.50 . What a joke? Drink was good taste but guy please pack a proper portion so that some one can eat a nan with that chilli paneer which was just one spoon full. Total waste of money and will never recommend anyone.
