Great food and service. Well worth visiting

I don't understand the rage about this place. The food is OK but the staff are absolutely awful. I looked online for the pre-theatre menu and saw that it ran from 4-6 on a Saturday, but when I arrived I was greeted by a very unfriendly man who informed me that it only ran until 5 on Saturdays, I've never heard of that before in my life. There is also a woman who walks about with a constant scowl on her face and the music is so repetitive, it does my head in. It seems that people only go because it's cheap, because the service is way beyond appalling. In response to the person who replied to this – they're fully aware that I have been a regular at Himalayan Dine Shawlands for a while, so I think I'm well placed to comment on the quality of the food. Furthermore, it isn't 'clearly stated on the menu' as it cannot be found online and therefore can be changed at will without anyone knowing about it. The pre-theatre used to run until 6 on a Saturday, I've had it before. Regardless, the man at the door's attitude stank and has been very unpleasant the numerous times he has served us in the past. Looks like the management is grasping at straws here.

Ordered a takeaway and it was easy to order. I ordered through the website and was ready to collect as soon as I got there. The food was great! Ordered chicken Momo’s and they were excellent as were the chicken spring rolls. Also had garlic chilli chicken and lamb rogan Josh. Both were good and had a really good amount of meat in. Not as spicy as what I usually like but still very flavourful. Would recommend and will go again.

We've always enjoyed Himalayan curries, so delighted to find this gem! Himalayan ghost, mutter paneer and naan all really delicious!

This establishment in the South Side is one of the few to have survived over the long course - and with good reason. The staff are gently welcoming and the restaurant setting is impeccable in a simple way. All the dishes we ordered were served to the highest standard. If I were to choose a highlight, the chicken jalfrezi was way beyond the basic: succulent chunks of chicken and seriously sizeable elements of green pepper, mushroom and onion. The Peshwari naan was subtle perfection. My bottle of beer was totally satisfying and my wife's glass of red was deemed special. The value for money is hard to beat. Ordered online via Deliveroo and the food was incredible, highly authentic, with huge portions. Best Indian food we’ve had in Glasgow so far! Special mention for the Lamb Biryani. Looking forward to visiting the restaurant!

My partner and I order from Himalayan at least twice a month and they never disappoint! The portions are big and the curries, rice and naan are so delicious! The delivery guy is always so lovely and positive too! Highly recommend!

Great food in a lovely quaint little restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their meals along with the variety of accompaniments. Nothing could be faulted and would definitely come back. Would recommend to anyone.

We got takeaway tonight. Food is 10/10. The popadom and dips are exceptional (especially the lime pickle). All the mains we tried were amazing. The chicken momos were really fantastic. Our new local for sure. Keep up the fantastic work! Very happy and full customers tonight :)

Just moved back to Glasgow and decided to look into an Indian. This had good reviews and it did not disappoint. Went for the meal for 2. Excellent food and great portion size. Will be back!

We really enjoyed the food here. Especially recommend the Haggis Pakora, but everything was great and I'd happily have it all again.

Out for an evening meal with my daughter and brother. Great choices of food. Nepalise. Chinese, Indian.. suited all palettes. Meat eater, vegan and vegetarian. Service so friendly

Amazing traditional food, very tasty too. If you dine before 5pm you can get a deal for starter and main for a reasonable price which was a nice surprise. Staff were super attentive and polite. Atmosphere a little dead but I think it’s just because we were in at a quiet time, I’ve walked past on a Saturday night and it always looks busy and much more atmospheric at this time.

Service was really quick, food was amazing and the menu was reasonably priced. Obviously more natural ingredients used too - pakoras, chicken chaats etc werent neon orange like other similar restaurants

Visited in a pre-booked group of 10. Staff seated us with welcoming smiles. Orders taken efficiently and served accurately. Beers replenished when requested. Meal suggestions explained. When all plates served.....what a feast of top quality food. Large portions and very tasty. Thoroughly recommended.

Amazing food tonight as usual. I absolutely love the sauce that comes with the Momo dumplings. I've tried countless times to recreate it and can't get it right.

Good choice of Asian food, including momo - little packets of tasty veg or chicken. We had a lamb curry, fish curry and Manchurian balls - everyone happy, and it sounded as though the tables round us were enjoying similarly. We've had takeaway before, so we knew the food was good, first time dining in, very good.

My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time and the food was some of the best we’ve had anywhere. The value for money is also incredible. Will definitely be back. Great portion sizes. This wee place truly exceeded all expectations.

Not how we remembered it me and my mum haven't been for good few years after our Xmas dinner was a shambles However we where passing tonight and thought we would get some chicken pakora as this was always amazing Unfortunately it wasn't fresh definitely old chicken majority of it went in the bin had we checked this is shawlands before we headed home me and my mum both agree we would have took it back in but we certainly weren't traveling back after getting home . Very disappointing. I remember when this place first opened it was amazing we where always going and couldn't wait until next time as it was always consistent and good until we received received bad Xmas dinner. Tonight has definitely put us off ever returning.

Four of us arrived to a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Service was great and unhurried. Food was quite simply out of this world. Highly recommend the chicken tikka, monkfish and lamb. Exquisite. Drinks prices are very reasonable. A great find in the heart of Shawlands.

First time I tried a home delivery from Himalayan Dine, and I can assure you it definitely will not be my last one, food and service both excellent, would highly recommend it to everyone, best ever.

Last night for the main course I had a most delicious Bhindi Masala (okra) and a chicken korma with a vegetable momo starter. Absolutely faultless deliciousness. Highly recommended.

Great food and service, if you're in Shawlands give it a try

Wether its sit in or take out this is one of the best places to get a curry in Glasgow! The food and service is always top drawer and I can recommend the sharing platter to start (you wont regret it). Nice and relaxed atmosphere with a wee bit of pan pipes playing in the background. They also have Everest beer which is worth a try.

Visited on a Saturday night and was quite busy. The staff were attentive and happy to chat through the menu. Lots of familiar Indian dishes with added interest. We had a mix of lamb, chicken and fish options and all excellent. Fish curry was especially good.

3rd time in this wee local gem, yes it’s tiny but the food is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. The 4 dips and poppadums are delicious the mango chutney had a hint of cinammon which was really nice. There was something different about the spiced onions too they were super tasty. There are 3 I think fish curries so I chose the Nepalese Malekhu which was really tasty big chunks of fish (still had skin on which may put some people off). Good sized portions. My dining companions had chicken rogan Gosht, madras and Nepalese dumplings all very tasty too. Will definitely be back.

Last night I took my family to this restaurant for dinner, and although we turned up late due to taxi issues, we were warmly welcomed and a fresh table set-up! Staff were attentive, menu offered lots of choices. For starters we has the Chicken Pakora, Vegetable Pakora and Vegetable Samosa's, all came well prepared, warm and very tasty, the sauce was [particularly nice! For mains we had Chicken Chasni, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Himalayan Tikka special and Vegetable Chow Mein, again all very tasty, warm and plentiful. Overall a very well run restaurant with good service and a very good kitchen, well worth a visit!

Me and my partner went for a weekend brunch. We ordered paneer tikka, channa poori, chowmein, momos, spring rolls. Paneer was very hard and seemed stale, channa poori presentation was pathetic, they had poured this very tasteless channa over the poori break making it soggy and non-edible, spring had this 1 pound pack frozen veggies inside which were also tasteless, chowmein was pathetic as well with loads of soy sauce and no salt and flavour. Only edible thing they had were momos. We tried to cancel chowmein after tasting the rest of the food, they clearly denied it. After having all of it, i felt very pukish. I wouldnt recommend anyone to go visit the place. Better cook at home or go to greggs rather.

Really great restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious. Much better than places in Brick Lane London. Very reasonable pricing and large portions. Reasonable seating area and staff were friendly and on top of things. Would highly recommend!

First visit to this smallish Indian style restaurant but with a Nepalese twist. Our party of 5 shared 3 lovely fresh panoramic starters. The main courses we all agreed were excellent. I had a Goan fish curry which came with a lovely aromatic sauce not too heavy on coconut with lots of whole spices. Can recommend.

Authentic Indian food in the South Side, stumbled across this place a few months back and have been going here ever since.

First visit and will be the last. chicken tikka with no sizzle was tastless. The starter chicken chat 3 peices for £6 rip off. Not to even mention the staff that wished they were somewhere else, NOT WELCOMING AT ALL Far better places to eat

I have lived in the UK for over 20 years and always struggle to find tasty Indo Chinese style food that is a famous cuisine in India. But the chilli chicken and chicken Manchurian from Himalayan Done makes me miss Indian food less!!! I love this and it's just amazing. Special mention to the lemon and cashew rice which is sooooo yummy. Oh and the momos. Must must must try if you're in the south side.

Traveled from Kent for lunch and we were not disappointed. The food and the staff were excellent. We moved to Kent 7 yrs ago but every time we return to Glasgow we always make time to dine in our favour restaurant. The food and tge service has skwats been first class. WELL DONE.

Was here looking for Nepalese food in Glasgow and travelled all the way here from the town centre but it kinda disappointed as chowmein was too oily. Loved the momo although it took more than 45 minutes to arrive at the table. Good to have authentic Nepalese food far away from home but had higher expectations from the resturant.

The food tastes amazing. We had lamb chops and monk fish. It might not look enough but it is super filling. Great level of service, and the place was full on a Sunday evening. Only downside is the sits next to the toilets are just a no no!

Some of the best curries we’ve had both in the restaurant and as a takeaway. The Goan monkfish curry is delicious and the chicken Bhuna was fantastic. Never had a bad meal here, it’s very reasonably priced and delivery was very quick. Can highly recommend.

Loved the food. Spice levels were just right without being too bland or too spicy especially the chinese food items. The Manchurian and Chicken Chilli were great.

The naan and the vegetable Manchurian were tasty. The vegetable pakoras felt a little heavy on oil, but overall the dishes were very nice and moderately spicy.

This is a great wee restaurant it looks nothing from the outside but the food is always fresh tasting and delicious and the meal deals excellent value. I'm not a fan of chops but oh my they are delightful! Give it a try you won't be disappointed! x

Our first meal our since the lockdown restrictions have been lifted and it was a great experience. The standout dish was the Himalyan Lamb Chops. The sauce was fantastic, thick and spicy it was the best curry sauce I've tasted for a long time. The lamb was lovely and tender and superb with the sauce. The starters were also top class - the tandoori king prawns were beautiful. My only gripe was that the naan bread wasn't crispy enough, although this my preference. The staff were friendly and attentive and happy to help out explaining the more obscure dishes. A good wee restaurant - highly recommended

I've had food here before which was great but tonight was the worse meal I have ever had, reheated chicken pakora hard as leather, garlic chili chicken that would burn the mouth of you couldn't eat it not for anybody's palat. Disgusting

I ordered through Deliveroo and was initially frustrated as the delivery took a long time. Having now received the food, I understand why it was so long. The food was absolutely excellent. I agree with an earlier reviewer; definitely one of the best in Glasgow. Up there with Mother India. Fish curries, biryani, Karachi all amazing. Ill definitely be back.
