Obsession Of India in Glasgow City

Excited to find this wonderful Indian restaurant on our Scotland trip. We all enjoyed our meals, very authentic, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

Went to this restaurant on 6th January for my birthday meal was excellent great service and staff sent out a cake and sang Happy birthday will definitely be back and will tell all my friends

The staff there are very rude they say very bad things about white people idk why i was there from nyc racist towards everybody specially a lady there please is it possible i can get number or email of the owner ?

ALERT ALERT ! very bad experience. Staff was very rude and very poor customer service. The chef was very rude . They didn’t let us sit even if i was there before closing time . Poor Experience. Please don’t go !

We had our works Christmas dinner here, food was amazing as was the service. Had never heard of it before and after doing research into finding somewhere that accommodated dietary requirements and fussy eaters without making us choice from a set menu we came across it - brilliant find and would highly recommend. The bonus with the bill was amazing - wear layers though as it’s one hot place ❤️❤️

I think I must have tried this place on an off night as I used the place based on review, I’ll start by saying I’m a confident Indian / Bangladesh cook and have lived and worked in that region for 2 years in the past so I’m pretty well guised to good food from that area, The curry itself tasted like the base wasn’t homemade, it tasted bought in The tikka chicken in the curry was barely tikka ( minimal marinade ) I’d say less than 8hrs The rice carried a strange flavour almost Chinese style, also carried a day old rice scent with it ( might just be me as I’m used to fresh rice from the pan ) so apologies if the rice was indeed fresh I ordered also a paratha which did live up to the advertised specifications, freshly cooked and plentiful with vegetable filling - very good indeed I was a little disappointed here based on the reviews and my experience however I do feel this establishment has the skills to deliver top quality meals as per the reviews online, like I say I must have just gone on a bad night Best wishes all the same and thanks to all at obsession of India, but unlikely to use again Regards

Probably the best lamb curry I’ve ever had! So tasty and tender. My wife and I almost fought over it….. and we eat a lot of curries country wide! Surroundings and service also very good. We will definitely return!

Food and service perfect as always - chicken tandoori comes on sizzling plate. best curry in Glasgow by far. And the toilets are immaculate!

Clearly the kitchen takes pride in the food here — the curries had a homemade flavor, the dishes came out quickly and were obviously made to order. Service is friendly and welcoming and the prices are very reasonable.

First visit, 4pm Saturday. Food was very good but it is not right to give 5 stars until you have eaten a more substantial portion of the menu, something that I intend to do over coming months

Just good food! The friendly service helped us make a choice from the extensive menu. Lots of vegetarian options. We will come back when we are in Glasgow again 🍛 😋

Really mediocre - biryani randomly flavourless with random jalapeño tossed through? Really expensive - £8.95 for over coriandered and kind of otherwise meh SIDE portion of Dhal. Meh

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE Ordered food online and took 1h30mins to arrive. Rang numerous times and rude staff just kept saying it was on way and would be 15-20 minutes. Rang 3 times with same answer before it arrived. Would not order from here again. Disappointed

We were visiting Glasgow and wanted to have a curry while here. Looked on google maps and found this one which had great reviews so tried it and was not disappointed, really great chicken tikka masala with lovely depth of flavours. Plus fried rice and naan bread with a pint of kingfisher, very friendly staff and would recommend anyone to try

Great meal tonight! Food was lovely and the service was spot on..not a large restaurant but the six of us felt no pressure to rush our meal. It was a catch-up wth ex work colleagues. Highly recommended!

Definitely make it a point to try this restaurant! The food was delicious, with dishes I have not seen on an Indian restaurant menu before. The server made several recommendations and they were both amazing! It’s a beautiful restaurant with highly attentive staff and amazing food!

We've just had our 3rd visit to Obsession and had another wonderful meal. Starters and main courses were lovely, my main course from the specials list was exceptional. Best Indian restaurant in Glasgow.

Unfortunately, the vegan dish Saag Aloo was not appropriately spiced. It was relatively dry and not aromaticdally flavored.

Just wanted a quick light meal. Had 2x starters and desert. Couldn't have asked for more delicious food.

The food from Obsession is always top notch… haven’t had a bad meal yet! I had veg pakora… which was yummy, just the right amount of crunch then I had a lamb bhuna… my favourite thing on the menu … it’s absolutely stunning… tender lamb, thick yummy sauce… 🤤🤤🤤 I could eat it again right now (it’s 8.20am, lol) had a peshwari naan … again exceptional!!! This is a must try x

This was our first time here. It was a great experience. The food was delicious and the service kind and thoughtful. our spice palette was well met and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in our group. We will definitely come back.

We were down in " Glasgow" & we came across the restaurant on Trip Advisor well we certainly weren't disappointed the food was amazing & well presented. We shall certainly be back when back in Glasgow.

Good food and excellent service, the staff are very polite but be warned a medium curry here is quite hot! Would recommend and would like to return for a milder curry.

The food was excellent and the chef’s specials can be highly recommended. These dishes are unique and we thought that they are really delicious and make the restaurant stand out. Everything was prepared with great skill and love. The service was very pleasant and customer-oriented.

The food was absolutely terrible. The strangest consistency of palak I have ever encountered, with chopped spinach and separated flavorless sauce. The only thing you could taste was boiled spinach. The garlic roti wasn’t much better, since it was both burnt to a crisp and cold at the same time, and the garlic was nowhere to be seen. Even though i was very hungry, i could not eat more than a few bites. Complete waste of money.

After a week long travel I was literally missing indian food, found this hotel through Google as im new to Glasgow. Ordered paneer biryani and it was really tasty. Small but decent dining space. Whenever I travel to Glasgow I surely plan to go there again.

I always order the chicken rezala…. But this was by far the tastiest version I have had! Creamy and spicy!!! Absolutely delicious!

is 45 mins late and your staff are hanging up on me. so much for “exceptional service”, possibly work on staff training and/or punctuality, pity as food is good if or when it arrives

That was by far the worse food I ever had... The cheese naan arrived and the naan was infused with it's packaged and couldn't separate them. The masala dish awful in taste and reminded nothing of masala.

Chose here for a meal on first night of a trip down to Glasgow and wasn’t disappointed .Everything was very good , the service , the food and the environment.just what we were looking for and more than likely what you will be looking for too.

We ordered Chiken Biryani, Smokey Chiken curry and Veg biryani. To our surprise the dishes were spicy and delicious. Loved the food. Ambience can better. But again one of the best Indian food I've had in uk.

I live across the road from Obsessions!! Can be a bit pricey, but the food is wonderful the chicken patia is amazing!!! Lovely staff also! 👍🏻🥘🥘🥘

Had to cancel my booking last minute because I am wheelchair bound and they have zero wheelchair access or accessible toilets even. This is so sad and quite shocking really. I love the food from this restaurant as I have ordered from just eat. You would think in this day and age they would consider not everyone can walk 💔

We got the garlic naan, butter chicken both mild and mediun spicy, and the tandoor chicken tikka. Everything was delicious! The medium spicy butter chicken was some of the best I've had and everything else was great too! The service was really nice too. Our server was very helpful and a generally nice guy. Definitely recommend!

This wasn’t our first visit to Obsession of India and because of past experience we decided to have dinner here for my husband’s birthday. Really busy as usual, our table position wasn’t great, right at the back next to the bar and walkway to the toilet which meant there was someone constantly either standing right next to me or squeezing past. Would suggest making this table just for 2 people to allow a little more room. The food was tasty, we had chicken poori although very very little chicken in it, pakora etc. Mains were Chasni, South Indian garlic chilli chicken and madras which as I said before were tasty. The staff are very nice however service was variable to be honest, we felt a bit rushed between courses in fact we hadn’t actually finished our starters when the next course was brought out. Had to ask for more drinks and no one asked if we wanted dessert or coffee which we would have but decided just to call it a night because no one came back after our table was cleared. We were in and out in just over an hour. Maybe just an off night as we have been before and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The food was just excellent! I love Indian food but I must admit that I'm not the best at choosing what to order, but this place has really friendly and helpful staff. They suggested the perfect non spicy (Butter Tikka) and spicy dishes (Smoke Karahi) and even guided us on how much food should be enough and it was perfect. Just the right amount of food and it was excellent! All this for a great price as well.

Food arrived in good time. The food was lovely, however the chicken pakora although very good was not the same as the chicken pakora which you were making around 4 years ago. I remember it being the best pakora I’ve ever eaten in my life. This time around it was still really nice but it didn’t have the wow factor that your food did back then. Second time I've visited. The food is absolutely delicious. Have the chicken tikka smoked Kahari. Mmm. On this occasion I'd booked the table early and found the restaurant wasn't busy and cold. Brr. It was cold outside (end of June!)

The restaurant was ok, a bit dark and drab, and the music was far too loud. The food was nice, I won't go back but I'm not sad to have gone. The lamb dish was nice and spicy but the chicken tikka masala was far from the normal ones (and not in a good way) I don't think my father enjoyed it very much.

Definately not good value for money - super expensive for what you get. Waiters sad and suffering from serving you.

Veggie meal just had few lumps of potato & some obviously frozen veg, wee squares of carrots, some corn & couple of the green beans!! Shocking they didn't have fresh veg.

incredible service. we ordered the mild chicken Tikka marsala which when we tasted it found it was very sweet. almost inedible. called the restaurant. they were very kind and understanding. sent the medium masala a replacement which was delicious. also replaced everything else we ordered (not necessary as everything else was delicious). this was above and beyond service. only our second time ordering. will order again. the south Indian garlic chicken is particularly great.

I don't know if our expectations were set unfairly high because of all the positive reviews, but we were disappointed with our visit. The food was okay, but I won't be able to relate to statements like “I travel to Glasgow for this”. Both my wife and I love Indian cuisine. Nevertheless, we didn't manage to taste anything special in the dishes that would make such a statement plausible. The bottom line is that it is the same cuisine as in any other Indian restaurant. The service was friendly but very passive. Although the restaurant was almost empty, you had to try very hard to get the waiters' attention. Was the restaurant bad? No. But in our opinion there was nothing that made it stand out.

Excellent restaurant! I went with some friends last week, 1 has a few food allergies which can be very tricky. The staff here were very attentive, checked allergens a few times, discussing the meal with my friend before ordering. They even made him his own sauce. All very reassuring! I love spicy food, most places don't cater to this too well, but after requesting extra spice, I had fresh chili sauce and extra chili's brought out! We all loved our food, the staff and the atmosphere!

Delicious Food and Great Hospitality

Food was excellent, still very hot. Everything tasted fresh and the quality was fantastic. Highly recommend if you haven’t tried this already you do.

Excellent chicken biriani with Chana Dal, egg korma, mixed pakora, salad. Good service from the staffs. Very friendly and welcoming ambient. 👌
