Finally found a great place for roti canai in Glasgow! This place did not disappoint. We had the Nasi Goreng and Moo Goreng and both dishes were delicious! Great value for money because the portion sizes are huge. It gets busy so probably better to book ahead of time.

Not the best picture but definitely the best food (therefore I forgot to take a picture and just dug in). Pictured here are Nasi Goreng and Beef Laksa Curry. The Nasi Goreng at Satu Satu is my go to comfort meal - the flavours are absolutely divine. Not pictured from the meal is the dessert: milo drink, French toast, and bubble waffle - all made to perfection. I have tried other desserts from their extensive dessert menu as well and they have all been really great however the French toast with condensed milk is my favourite. The music is also not loud which I prefer in a restaurant as it makes it easier to speak to whoever I am dining with and makes for a pleasant atmosphere. The service is always exceptional and the staff is super friendly. It is always a pleasure to be served by Aulia who now remembers my favourites on the menu which highly elevates my dining experience. I could not recommend this place enough!

We dropped by here for dinner as a group and really enjoyed it. The service was friendly and helpful, the food was very tasty and the portions were big. They sadly don't sell alcohol and they charge a 10% service fee (smaller than we would have tipped by the way), so -1 star for these.

Great Malaysian restaurant, you can smell the lovely wok hay, giving almost a street food vibe. What we tried: - Nasi Lemak with fried chicken: 8/10 really delicious, the fried chicken is juicy and tender, love the sambal and samba egg with it as well. They also offer this with curry chicken or curry veg. I wish the portion is slightly bigger. - Belachan Udon: 7.5/10 If you love spicy shrimp paste, you’re gonna really like this dish, pretty big portion, it has prawn and pork in it, it is quite spicy which I like, but my friend did find this too spicy. - Curry Laksa with chicken: 7/10 - Hainanese chicken rice: 7/10 - Roti canai with curry sauce: 7.5/10 The flaky roti with satay flavoured curry sauce is very good, a great appetiser. Desserts and drinks: - mango and black glutinous rice in coconut milk: the mango are very delicious and the gluttonous rice are great. They offer loads more dessert with mango too. - Hong Kong style French toast with peanut butter and condensed milk: a classic Hong Kong dessert, it’s a delicious combo, highly recommend. You can choose your own aside and spread such as kaya, nutella and red bean. - Dessert roti: this is such a great creative combo, I loved it, it comes with ice cream and whipped cream, I opted for kaya and condensed milk. The flaky roti with ice cream is just amazing! The only comment I have is I l wish the roti itself is sweet. - taro ball dessert: lots of toppings like grass jelly, sago and coconut jelly with coconut milk or red bean soup or milk tea, can’t go wrong with this one. - lemon tea: very good, refreshing - Hong Kong style milk tea: very good - honey citrus: really good with yuzu pieces. Overall, the menu offer a great variety of dishes, from starts to desserts, love the range of food they offer. Especially the huge range of dessert and drinks they offer! The restaurant does get busy in the evening and they have 7/8 tables. Very friendly service.

Top marks for the friendly and efficient staff. I am afraid I did not find the dishes we ordered to be authentic Malaysian. The chicken satay sauce was not Malaysian peanut sauce - not sure what it was. I am sure the chicken had a thin coating of batter - should be just grilled meat - no batter. The tofu with sambal - the tofu was nice but the sambal sauce was chilli without the shrimp paste - so not proper sambal in my books. The roti canai curry sauce was Chinese take away style curry sauce. Similar comments in terms of the Nasi Lemak sauce. The Hainanese chicken rice was good but a small dish and with very small amount of chilli sauce. It was cheaper (about £12.50) and I would have liked a bigger portion (and yes be charged the same price as for other dishes £15) and with far more child sauce. I suppose I could have asked for more but should not have to. Looking at what others in neighbouring tables ordered, wish I had gone for the char koay teow - that did look good. Would I go again.. maybe as the staff were great but sorry, this is not authentic Malaysian.

Had a very enjoyable and satisfying dinner of Penang CKT and nasi lemak at Satu Satu Glasgow tonight. The CKT has ample wok-hei, the lub-cheong adds some sweetness to the slightly salty and spicy noodles, and the generous amount of beansprouts provided the extra crunch. The nasi lemak is very authentic as well. The rice cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaves is fragrantful on the the nose and flavourful in the palate, true to its name!

This is sign posted as a dessert cafe but we just had mains and they were incredible. I had Nasi Lemak - coconut rice with Sambal, roasted peanuts, cucumber and a curry - and it was amazing. Pretty spicy so maybe avoid if you dont like chilli. Other half got the nasi goreng which was a huge portion of spicy fried rice with egg. Service was fast and the lunch was with a main and drink was only £12. Informal cafe setting serving food you’d not expect in a desert cafe. Will def return.

Tom Yum Goong - so sweet and spicy Hainanese chicken rice - average, no surprises Malay fried noodles - there is a little oil, but you can't taste the Malay flavor because it only tastes spicy. Hong Kong style frozen lemon tea-Zhengzhengchang Hong Kong style frozen milk tea - nothing like it On the contrary, my friend told me that the chicken lasa was delicious, while my Mala friend said it was expensive and authentic. *The service attitude is just average. When we called to make a reservation, we were not told that there would be an additional 10% service charge for six or more people, so friends who want to help us should pay special attention. Even if the orders are divided, they must be accepted unless they are seated at separate tables (but they must be separated). When we asked to be transferred to a different channel, the attitudes of the store clerk and the suspected proprietress were really, really bad. But this is not our fault. If he had informed us in advance, we would have made the appropriate decision. (Update May, 2024: I still think they are capable of serving food that is amongst the top within Glasgow, however, after a couple such experiences, I'd suggest avoiding the place when they are visibly busy, as their quality dips significantly when staff are under pressure. My partner actually threw up last time when she got home due to how oily one her rice noodles were. Original review in 2022:) Would recommend for small gatherings or dinner for one, at least once a year as they do revise their menu (I still miss their previous rice dishes that come in small wooden barrels). Dishes offered originates from Malaysian Chinese culture and/or the Canton area of China. Take note Satu Satu means business when it comes to spiciness. Their Hainanese chicken (boneless, mostly) rice dish is my partner’s favourite. Never had trouble getting a seat, but seating is limited and so would recommend booking in advance.

I saw a Facebook reel about this place and thought it looked well worth a try. My wife and I went last night never having tried Malaysian food but boy were we delighted we made the 70 mile round trip. Its a busy place with takeaways, customers having tea or desserts and people like us who were in for a meal. We ordered Sieu Mai, chicken satay, roti with curry sauce and salt and pepper chicken wings to start. Every started was delicious and piping hot. We then had a Malaysian crispy chicken curry and Nasi Goreng and both were outstanding. Might have been our first taste of Malaysian food but it will not be our last and can't wait to go back again. Recommended on TikTok. It’s hard to find really good Malaysian food in Scotland let alone Glasgow. This was a very good effort. Nasi Lemak was the best dish, served with fried chicken. Penang prawn mee had a brilliant spicy kick to it. Overall it’s a good shout for the Glasgow food scene and we will probably revisit.

Was really excited for the nasi lemak since it is one of my fav comfort food but overall felt underwhelmed. Rice has very mild coconut flavour, the sambal feels more like the dried version of the Chinese chili oil and I would expect friedchicken wings but cutlets though the meat is nice. Sambal egg without the sambal is just the fried hard boiled egg. The Hainanese chicken rice is so so. Rice has a bit spice which is kinda weird. Chili is nice and not sure if the condiments provided is the light soy sauce coz it tastes a bit sweet and the ginger seems like those you bought from the grocery store. Ordered both the mango pomelo sago and the red bean soup, which I enjoyed more than the main dishes. Service was slow and I felt the attitude of the server was a bit strange towards me and my friend felt it too and I've been polite throughout the evening. Personally I would not recommend for someone who is from Singapore (I'm not fussy eater) as I find the food is quite average, but for first timer to get a taste of Sg and MY food, sure.

Ordered takeaway from UberEats and even from the packaging you could tell they cared about their food. They used cardboard dividers, packaged the roti and noodles in foil to preserve freshness and heat, sauces were all separate and fresh tasting. I ordered the roti canai with curry, char kway teow and taro balls in red bean soup for the base. You could taste the wok hei in the noodles. If you like spicy, these folks will deliver. I asked for extra sambal because a lot of places can't deliver on spice, but I didn't need it. The dish was flawless so now I have extra (seemingly homemade?) sambal for other dishes. Please please order from and support this hidden gem. Prices and portions are great and I can't wait to visit in person.

Imagine this. It’s 4.45pm. You’re walking down the street. You see a small cafe. It’s quiet, they’re preparing for the dinner rush. You look at the opening times. It opens in 15 minutes. You smell the air. *sniff* It hits you. The rush of spices and heat that only the Far East can create. You’re suddenly reminded of the Hawker Stalls in Singapore. The street food of Indonesia. The home cooked meals your Malaysian mother made for you at home. Your senses are overjoyed before you even walk in the store. You decide to wait and order food when the restaurant opens. You order roti canai followed by a serving of laksa, with a cold Milo Dino on the side to cool it all down. Satu Satu will bring you back to simpler times. With great, authentic tasting food that reminds you of home. Although any restaurant outside of SE Asia will struggle to match the real deal, Satu Satu does a remarkable job and I’ve never once been disappointed with an order. Although I wish the prices were as cheap as the food back in Asia, I suppose all great food requires a price tag. And I believe with the quality of food I’m given, I can’t complain about the cost.

Fried chicken so crispy and juicy (should reheat in oven if crispness softens after takeaway). Real soy milk! So much choice for dessert! They sell you tofu custard (doufufa) only if you go yourself--they found out that the soft texture of the dessert gets broken up by the takeaway services. Surprised to see they use truly compostable/recyclable paper, PLA and aluminium foil takeaway packaging. These people care about their food and the environment too.

Amazing Malaysian food. Authentic, good value, delicious. Better than anything we've had in London.

Being a Malaysian, I truly loved eating here. An unpretentious environment, friendly staff and delicious food. Everything it claims to be and more. Had the sambal eggs, char kuey teow and HK bubble tea which were all tastes of home.

Satu Satu hasn't lost its touch, great food, lovely nasi lemak (national rice dish for Malaysia), and we love the char koay teow (fried flat noodle, most popular Malaysian street food).......

Super good meal here! Had a sambal egg, Hainan chicken, noodles(?forgot the specific name), coconut milk based dessert, and Rose tea. Chicken, tea, and dessert were delicious. Restaurant is clean and friendly atmosphere and service was quick.

This place was highly recommended by my landlord who is also Malaysian. The nasi lemak and the Hainanese chicken rice was definitely authentic Malaysian food. Coming back soon to try out their other dishes especially the char kuey teow and the curry laksa.

Utterly delicious food. Inexpensive and pleasingly chaotic, the staff are lovely and so helpful... I watched them negotiate the menu with an elderly customer who didn't know Malaysian food and it was an essay in tact, patience and good customer service. The Szechuan tofu pudding shown in the photograph is one of the tastiest - and spiciest - things I've eaten!

Okay so first of all, the food here is delicious. It’s actually the best Korean food we’ve had in Glasgow so far. BUT! The 1 star rating is because of the service. I have to be harsh here unfortunately because their mistake was simply unacceptable. We were there this summer and the person serving us did an awful job. I am vegan and the person I was with is Muslim AND WE WERE SERVED PORK. I always finish any order at any restaurant with “so everything is vegan, correct?” and the server replied “correct” 😣 We ordered the aubergine katsu curry but even with the lack of meat on the plate, there was apparently pork in the sauce. We found that out after coming back later when another server said “no sorry, you’d have to order the aubergine with the garlic soy sauce instead because the katsu curry sauce has pork in it”. I haven’t had pork in 17 years and the person I was with is Muslim so they obviously have never had pork. Absolutely disgusting. It’s such a shame because we truly love the food and would get food from here as often as we could but I even know someone who went here and got the chicken katsu curry DURING RAMADAN. That means they broke their religious fast with PORK. Just awful. But if you don’t have any dietary restrictions, the food is delicious and I would recommend it 😅 Just be really careful if you’re vegan or Muslim.
