The best restaurants in Edinburgh and Lothian

Genuinely really enjoyed all the cocktails and the theme, and all the staff were very attentive and friendly, and they knew all their stuff!

My partner is a coeliac and she's also currently feeding our 2 month old who seems to have a cows milk protein allergy at the moment. We're not the easiest to cater for at the moment, but we were really really well looked after. They checked everything carefully and the chef was made aware. The food was absolutely flipping amazing. I had a Jai and saag aloo myself and it was phenomenal. I'll definitely be going back! Thank you for looking after us.

One of the nicest pizzas ove had in years. I was in a bit of a rush but the food came pretty quickly without asking. Pizza was excellent from base to toppings and cooked perfectly. Lovely cosy atmosphere as well. I'm rarely down this side of Edinurgh, but I might make a bot more of an effort now I know it's here.

Part of me is loathe to review this place as so much of its charm is how local and authentic it feels. But it really is a perfect Edinburgh pub. Incredible selection of whiskeys and very friendly staff on hand to help you pick one (of the 850!), especially Moira. Thanks so much, looking forward to returning here.

Superb pub! Had drinks and a light meal Friday afternoon/ early evening and then took the family the next day for a cheeky afternoon pint! Service is superb, location is absolutely stunning and the food and drinks are perfect. A touch more pricey but well worth every penny👍👍

These are by far the best sandqiches in the world. The sandwich experience is elevated with the ingredients, way of making them, the super happy lady who serves you and the whole vibe of the place! We had the Coronation chicken (panini) and the Elliot special (wrap). The panini had a sweet note thanks to the raisins, and an overall milder taste but very filling and satisfying. The wrap had a stronger taste, but my bf loved it and ate it in just minutes! Would definitely recommend and come back if I'm ever again in Edinburgh. 🥰🙌🎉

Hi, it is a lovely place to be! We stayed three days in a pension near by. My daughter and I loved the atmosphere in that café. The flat white, the Nutella Hot chocolate, the tuna melt sandwich and the delicious waffles were great! To complete the perfect picture of a cosy café, a pretty, young woman always sat at the next table, on her red sofa, with her notebook… my daughter and I wondered what she was doing there. We agreed (because it fits so well with the mood in that café), she writes on her book and absorbing the atmosphere of the café, to create a new world. And we on the transit before our camping tour, maybe appear in it :-) If you visit the cafe, please say hello to our writer ;-)

Ordered a Cappuccino and chicken ciabatta sandwich. Loved it😍😍so filling and delicious. The atmosphere was so nice and such polite and friendly staff. 10/10 would recommend.

Ordered some tapas, it was below average, my partner is convinced it was partially microwaved. The lady who served us didn't seem very interested, I would ask her a question whether they had a particular drink and she would just say 'no' and walk away not even interested whether i maybe had an alternative i wanted to ask about or order 😂 It felt like hard work. Not going back 🤣

Lovely hotel, very good service, nice staff. Good central location in the city.
