What a cracking little bar. Friendly staff and locals.

The interior is very nice, enjoyable and warm. The dog in the pub is very cute. The only negative is that there are no snacks to go with the beer, there could have been side items like fries.

First visit. A great wee bar with a cosy fire and friendly staff. Wee defo be back.

Cozy, small and historic bar. Not to be missed. I found some good whisky bottles amongst core range.

Our favorite Pub. The owner and staff are super friendly and welcoming. They pour a great pint of Guinness but also have a great selection of local breweries. Can’t wait to go back.

Kay & Compy was our third stop in a tour of 17+ pubs around Edinburgh. This felt like an exclusive little neighborhood pub almost exclusively used by locals. We had pints of Old Speckled Hen and Morticia. Adding to the charm of this tiny place was a Pub dog (not sure if it was the owners or a visitor). A local lady was relieved to find out I was not her blind date 'Steve'. Definitely an old world charm to it.

I have such a beautiful memory of this place. We were travelling to Edinburgh and staying in an Airbnb near this pub but were early so thought to stop by this bar and wait. But we were with a ton of luggage so felt a bit wrong to just get in with all of it. But an extremely kind person from the pub gave us such a warm welcome and even offered to help us with luggage. We felt right at home :). This place is so warm to everyone. I went another time this time alone and there were people who made sure I felt comfortable. I miss it so much, I want to go back 💗💗💗

Lovely pre-Christmas drinks here on the Monday before Christmas. Busy but not too busy, friendly staff, one of whom replenished the lunch rolls after we missed them following the lunchtime rush. Will definitely be back.

We asked for a pub, which was not a tourist trap. And that we did! Wonderful staff, amazing gin, and it is absolutely beautiful inside.

It’s all about the ambiance. Food is good and cheap. Staff is very kind.

Terrible tourists should avoid.... No, in truth this is a fantastic pub a true Edinburgh drinking spot. Slightly off the beaten track but worth going out the way for. It's a place to settle into for an evening with friends and get chatting.

Absolutely fantastic traditional pub, beautiful old school decor, like stepping back in time. Very friendly regulars and Andrew behind the bar was the ideal host, had a good chat and he gave us a list of recommended pubs in Edinburgh. Essential visit if you're in the area.

Has a good reputation but reality is different. Awful rude staff. Unpleasant avoid at all costs there are so many good bars in ed. This is not one of them.

Great authentic place for a drink! The bartender is a really nice guy and knows how to bartend. Great selection of whiskey and beers.

Bit pricey, ~£15 for a pint of Guinness and a line of neck oil. Didn’t realise what we’d been charged till after we’d sat down. Pub has a great vibe though and I’d suggest it.

hello um whiskey I came here to enjoy whiskey The lineup is really heavy. No, but in the UK Enjoying the pub atmosphere It's perfect, playing chess next to you It's a cool British place where couples bring their dogs. I recommend it. I tried 3 draft beers to enjoy the atmosphere, but they weren't good. If you're curious, the price is approximately 6 pounds and expensive drinks cost 10 pounds per glass.

Great Neighborhood Pub in Edinburgh. Friendly and lively.

This is one of those pubs you don't forget and when you arrive you know the trek was worth it. Seemingly in the middle of row housing, this little cozy tavern's red accents beckon you to come inside. Truly a tiny place but warm and welcoming. Takes you back in time. Clearly many locals and folks who return often and I can't blame them. Had a tasty pint of Landlord and was on my way.

If u would like to wait at the bar and have the bartenders look at you but then completely walk away and take the locals orders- then this place is for u! Typical “locals only” spot and if you aren’t one good luck getting served and getting friendly hellos

The most incredible wee pub - as in proper pub - I’ve ever seen. The fire place is the cherry on top. Nae tourists, no highland coos, no overpriced shortbread, just a proper tiny pub for friendly locals, with great staff and a lovely selection of reasonably priced cask and keg ales. Need to bring back the shrink wrapped ham and cheese n pickle bar rolls. Outstanding place that deserves every penny.
