I really liked the place. Very cosy and extremely helpful staff. I could easily use the restroom, pump milk for my baby and ask for water bottle refills. The haggis I bought was vegan one and it was quite yum. They have merchandise of hagis as well which was quite fun to see 😄

We tried the haggis for the first time at this place, the service was very fast and we were satisfied. When we returned, my friend and I ate two boxes each. Highly recommended.

A place where you can taste haggis at a low price! With sauce, turnips, potatoes, etc., it's light for an offal food, so it's good to eat! The scotch eggs are served cold, but I think they taste better when eaten warm.

I visited the place in March 2025. I tried the vegetarian haggis with whiskey sauce made by Adam and I thought it was spectacular, super delicious that obviously gives a plus to the dish. The place is very quiet and pleasant, Adam, who serves, is an absolutely friendly Scot who speaks impeccable Spanish and prepares delicious coffee. I greatly appreciate your attention, as well as that of your Spanish colleague (I don't remember the name) for the excellent service they provide. The price-quality ratio is good and for all veggies who don't want to leave Scotland without trying something typical in a vegetarian version, this is without a doubt the place. See you next time!

It was my best Haggis experience. The extra whisky & mustard sauce made it absolutely phénomenal.

The Haggis Box – A Hidden Gem! What a fantastic little spot! The Haggis Box delivers on all fronts – the food is absolutely amazing, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The coffee is top-notch too, rich and smooth, just the way it should be. The place has a really nice vibe, and the staff couldn’t be more welcoming or friendly. It’s clear they care about what they do, and it shows. Definitely worth a visit – I’ll be back for sure!

The Haggis Box was an amazing find. The haggis was absolutely delicious – I highly recommend the original recipe. So flavorful and perfectly prepared, exactly what you’d hope for when trying authentic Scottish food. The coffee was also really good, and the person running the place was super friendly and welcoming. You can tell they care about what they do. If you’re in Edinburgh, you definitely need to stop by!

Ideal place to try an authentic Haggis in the middle of Edinburgh. Behind a small bar where you can place your order, there is a kitchen where the chef carefully prepares his Haggis, with vegan and vegetarian options, in addition to the classic one. Very good atmosphere, impeccable service and very delicious food. I hope to return

We came to this place for the haggis, while lacking a bit in flavour, it was still pretty decent as was the mash. The staff was very friendly and the place had a nice cozy atmosphere. Not the place if you’re looking for an excellent meal, but would recommend if you’re looking to eat decently and avoid the classic pub food you’d find anywhere.

Bestest haggis I've eve tried in Scotland. A lot better than a cheap excuse in a Scottish Westherspoons. Whiskey sauce is extremely important in the meal and it would ne to the same without it! Highly recommended!!!

Haggis is one of the Scottish dishes we wanted to try. We chose this place on our second day walking around Edinburgh. The environment is not luxurious, modest, but I absolutely loved the Haggis, it was served warm, especially with the whiskey and mustard sauce, we recommend it👌

Went in because I saw a YT short about this place; came out with overflowing love for haggis and humanity. When I went in the tables are all occupied, so I was like, I’m gonna sit at the bench. But the owner (I’m sorry if you’re not an owner but you definitely own my heart after this interaction) PULLED OUT A CHAIR for a table in a corner for me to sit ALONE, asking me about my day, if I came here in time to catch the live music. This act of kindness made me believe in humanity again. There’s hope for us y’all!!! Anyway, the food— haggis & neeps and tatties was criminally smooth, rich, and the sauce will further make it easy to eat for all the first time haggis tryers. This is not my first time eating haggis, but I enjoyed it all the same. 100/10 stop reading and go try it out already

Haggis was delicious and the whisky sauce was on point. Some solid craft beers as well. Service was fast and efficient. Relaxed atmosphere. My only gripe was that the portions were way too small for an adult male. It would be perfect as a starter or for a kid. I cannot give more stars since I left almost as hungry as I arrived

Small cafe inside the Scottish Storytelling Centre on the Royal Mile. I had cake and the Haggis. The Haggis itself was extremely dry, crumbly, bland and lacking in flavour - almost comparable to cardboard or polystyrene, and fell apart when the waitress placed it on the table. I've never had Haggis crumble before my very eyes before. I was quite surprised given the positive reviews. I definitely recommend the Auchentoshan whisky & mustard sauce, as it is rich in flavour and is what gave the Haggis any sort of moisture or flavour. The Neeps and Tatties themselves were hot and quite nice in flavour and texture. I also had some "Fly Cemetery" cake, which was quite delicious. Service was good. The gentleman at the stand was helpful in helping me decide a cake, and also, thankfully, recommended me the Auchentoshan whisky & mustard sauce. It is a nice, quiet and peaceful atmosphere. As it is inside the Storytelling Centre, you can read about some traditional Scottish tales. The venue also hosts occasional community events. Whilst I wouldn't recommend the Haggis, I would recommend going there and relaxing with a slice of cake.

This place is amazing! The haggis is so delicious. A whiskey sauce that isn't only about the whiskey. Such friendly and knowledgeable staff. Nearly everything has a gluten free, veg, or vegan option. Absolutely a must.

I had the veggie haggis with the mustard and whiskey sauce. It was delicious and I‘m so happy that there‘s a vegetarian option because I was really curious. Although the place is very informal, the staff was very polite. Would definitely recommend.

Our first encounter with haggis, which was delicious. Even though I hardly eat meat, I made an exception and I definitely did not regret it. As a second course we had scotch eggs with salad which was rather average.

We tried two dishes of Haggis, one with whiskey sauce and the other with red wine gravy. We liked both, but we would like to point out that the first one seemed sweeter and the whiskey flavor was almost imperceptible, with the mustard flavor predominating. It is worth noting that at the end of this gastronomic experience our faces had an unusual color and temperature at this time of year due to the fabulous choice of whiskey cider 😁

I was reluctant to try Haggis when I first visited Scotland, then ended up regretting not having the experience and promised myself to try it next time. After finally trying it, I can say that I am even more angry about not trying earlier. The whole experience really threw my prejudice out of the window. Adam does the haggis and sauces himself and is a lovely person, eager to share his culture through food. Couldn't recommend it more!

This place came recommended from a local for good haggis and the environment was lovely. I'd never tried haggis but wanted to. It was delicious and not very expensive with a decent sized portion. I usually hate swede (neeps) but I actually enjoyed that as well! I'd also highly recommend the coffee here.

First time having haggis, so I can't compare the Hagis Box's offering to anything else, but I can say, it was delicious. Nice employees and cute space. It does close early, though.

Safe place for LGBTQ+ people looking for a haven of peace in Edinburgh. The vegetarian haggis is a little salty, the whiskey sauce is excellent (without it it would be a little dry) and the portion is correct. We paid around 13 pounds. Eating there is an opportunity to discover Scottish history and folklore, don't hesitate to chat with the waiters, who are adorable. Too bad the place closes so early!

My first Haggis ever, and I loved it. I had the classic one with whiskey and mustard sauce. It was absolutely delicious. For drinks we had Tempest hell, as recommended by the server.

Tried haggis for the first time and it was mind blowing. The restaurant is located in prime location and the staffs were very polite and friendly. Haggis is a must try when you're in Scotland and I definitely recommend trying it at this place. Not your usual restaurant / cafe / pub setting but rather a 'box office'-turned-kitchen inside the Scottish Storytelling Centre. Cheerful and friendly staff. We ordered their Haggis Neeps & Tatties with Whiskey & Mustard sauce at a reasonable price which comes in a decent portion size. The dish was brilliant! Each element had its own flavour not being overpowered by others. We enjoyed it a lot. Highly recommend this place.

I ordered the Haggis over Neeps and Tatties with the Auchentoshan whisky & mustard sauce. Oh my stars, it was SPECTACULAR and made me a haggis convert. Please do give it a try! The Haggis Box makes it a delicious experience! Also, I want to comment that the staff are all so lovely and kind! The restaurant itself is very bright and clean!

Great place to try haggis and great place to go back to for a quick meal. I was a haggis virgin and the haggis box was recommended. I ordered it as recommended with the whiskey mustard sauce and could have licked the plate it was so good. The hubby ordered a BLT roll and his was also incredible. The place is setup more like cafeteria than restaurant but I would come here again and again for the food and friendly service!!!

Had their haggis in their catering van at the Royal Highland Show. Then i had to visit their permanent cafe on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. It's in an interesting building too! Great haggis served in the traditional way. Haggis is a must try if you are a visitor, this is the best place for it! Awesome place to have a solid Haggis. Had haggis the night before as a starter but the portion was teeny. Went here for a proper serving and wasn’t disappointed. Lovely quiet setting with solid wood furniture inside what feels like a community hall -a very unique vibe. I sat at the window and watched all the tourists scurry around while I gorged myself on the offal and oats that make up a classic haggis. I highly recommend you do the same.

We ordered the soup of the day with oatcakes and regular and veggie haggis. We also tried both sauces and gluten free beers. And it all was absolutely delicious. The place is nice and quiet, the staff is lovely and we would definitely go back again.

The Haggis Box is inside the Scottish Storytelling Centre, and we ate there while waiting for a show during the Fringe. Haggis, neeps and tatties are on the menu, but we settled for a bacon roll. It was probably one of the best bacon rolls I've had, two nice rashers perfectly cooked in a nice soft roll. Tomato sauce and brown sauce is available as well. Yum! Hot drinks and alcoholic drinks are available to complement your meal as well. A good place to have a sit down and refuel on the Royal Mile.

The plate is mini. Literally for the same price I ate plates (also haggis neeps & tatties) up to three times bigger in all the pubs/restaurants around. In terms of taste, it is even worse than others. I ordered it with the whiskey and mustard sauce and it is delicious, but it is inferior to all the nearby bars. The atmosphere is not comfortable to be in (it is to eat and leave immediately). At least they give you food quickly

Great vegan haggis including really good mashed potatoes. The staff was super welcoming and friendly, and prices were descent. My partner had the "real" haggis and was delighted as well. Highly recommended for everyone who wants to try a Scottish delicacy while in Edinburgh.

It was the first time I tasted Haggis and I guess it was quite high class. However, the food was generally too poorly salted, so I had to add salt myself. But it rarely turns out completely well if you add salt to the food afterwards. However, the taste was much better after I added salt. If it hadn't been for the low saltiness in the dish, I would probably have given a higher rating because I think it was a very good Haggis. I ordered with Whiskey and mustard sauce and it was really good! The venue was probably a bit dreary, but there was still plenty of room. And the staff was nice.
