Lovely staff coffee excellent. Just popped in for coffee, but will go back again for a bite next time.

This place came recommended from a local for good haggis and the environment was lovely. I'd never tried haggis but wanted to. It was delicious and not very expensive with a decent sized portion. I usually hate swede (neeps) but I actually enjoyed that as well! I'd also highly recommend the coffee here.

Discovery of Haggis in this place we loved it! Just like Scotch Eggs! In addition, the people who took care of us were friendly, which was rather rare so I would like to point it out :)!

Haggis Neeps and Tatties to die for

First time having haggis, so I can't compare the Hagis Box's offering to anything else, but I can say, it was delicious. Nice employees and cute space. It does close early, though.

Safe place for LGBTQ+ people looking for a haven of peace in Edinburgh. The vegetarian haggis is a little salty, the whiskey sauce is excellent (without it it would be a little dry) and the portion is correct. We paid around 13 pounds. Eating there is an opportunity to discover Scottish history and folklore, don't hesitate to chat with the waiters, who are adorable. Too bad the place closes so early!

Tried haggis for the first time and it was mind blowing. The restaurant is located in prime location and the staffs were very polite and friendly. Coming to the taste of food haggies tatties and neeps blew my mind. I tried with classic whiskey and mustard sauce. I highly recommend this place if you want to try the dish for the first time.

My first Haggis ever, and I loved it. I had the classic one with whiskey and mustard sauce. It was absolutely delicious. For drinks we had Tempest hell, as recommended by the server.

Haggis is a must try when you're in Scotland and I definitely recommend trying it at this place. Not your usual restaurant / cafe / pub setting but rather a 'box office'-turned-kitchen inside the Scottish Storytelling Centre. Cheerful and friendly staff. We ordered their Haggis Neeps & Tatties with Whiskey & Mustard sauce at a reasonable price which comes in a decent portion size. The dish was brilliant! Each element had its own flavour not being overpowered by others. We enjoyed it a lot. Highly recommend this place.

I was so scared to try haggis because the description sounded off-putting. I finally mustered up the courage and made a stop at The Haggis Box after reading other Google reviews. I ordered the Haggis over Neeps and Tatties with the Auchentoshan whisky & mustard sauce. Oh my stars, it was SPECTACULAR and made me a haggis convert. Please do give it a try! The Haggis Box makes it a delicious experience! Also, I want to comment that the staff are all so lovely and kind! The restaurant itself is very bright and clean!

Nothing is as satisfying as food that stays in your memory longer than the memories of the trip. For me it's a revelation, I think it will be a reason to come back. I recommend.

Great place to try haggis and great place to go back to for a quick meal. I was a haggis virgin and the haggis box was recommended. I ordered it as recommended with the whiskey mustard sauce and could have licked the plate it was so good. The hubby ordered a BLT roll and his was also incredible. The place is setup more like cafeteria than restaurant but I would come here again and again for the food and friendly service!!!

Had their haggis in their catering van at the Royal Highland Show. Then i had to visit their permanent cafe on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. It's in an interesting building too! Great haggis served in the traditional way. Haggis is a must try if you are a visitor, this is the best place for it! Awesome place to have a solid Haggis. Had haggis the night before as a starter but the portion was teeny. Went here for a proper serving and wasn’t disappointed. Lovely quiet setting with solid wood furniture inside what feels like a community hall -a very unique vibe. I sat at the window and watched all the tourists scurry around while I gorged myself on the offal and oats that make up a classic haggis. I highly recommend you do the same.

We ordered the soup of the day with oatcakes and regular and veggie haggis. We also tried both sauces and gluten free beers. And it all was absolutely delicious. The place is nice and quiet, the staff is lovely and we would definitely go back again.

The Haggis Box is inside the Scottish Storytelling Centre, and we ate there while waiting for a show during the Fringe. Haggis, neeps and tatties are on the menu, but we settled for a bacon roll. It was probably one of the best bacon rolls I've had, two nice rashers perfectly cooked in a nice soft roll. Tomato sauce and brown sauce is available as well. Yum! Hot drinks and alcoholic drinks are available to complement your meal as well. A good place to have a sit down and refuel on the Royal Mile.

The plate is mini. Literally for the same price I ate plates (also haggis neeps & tatties) up to three times bigger in all the pubs/restaurants around. In terms of taste, it is even worse than others. I ordered it with the whiskey and mustard sauce and it is delicious, but it is inferior to all the nearby bars. The atmosphere is not comfortable to be in (it is to eat and leave immediately). At least they give you food quickly

Got the traditional haggis with the whiskey and mustard sauce. First time eating haggis, very rich, hearty and interesting flavors. Staff is efficient and super friendly.

It was the first time I tasted Haggis and I guess it was quite high class. However, the food was generally too poorly salted, so I had to add salt myself. But it rarely turns out completely well if you add salt to the food afterwards. However, the taste was much better after I added salt. If it hadn't been for the low saltiness in the dish, I would probably have given a higher rating because I think it was a very good Haggis. I ordered with Whiskey and mustard sauce and it was really good! The venue was probably a bit dreary, but there was still plenty of room. And the staff was nice.

Great vegan haggis including really good mashed potatoes. The staff was super welcoming and friendly, and prices were descent. My partner had the "real" haggis and was delighted as well. Highly recommended for everyone who wants to try a Scottish delicacy while in Edinburgh.

I visited to enjoy Scotland's famous haggis. When I ate haggis for the first time, both the taste and texture were wonderful. It went perfectly with the Scottish pale ale recommended by the staff. The staff was polite and helpful, and the staff who were studying Japanese spoke to me in a friendly manner, making the meal enjoyable.

Try the special local food and this beer is full of flavor and smooth to drink.

Our first time trying haggis, and we loveeee it. We are not into mustard, so we order with red wine gravy and it's perfect. We're glad we order it here instead of somewhere else which might be too fancy. The owner is very helpful and tell us about this dishes since it's our first time trying. The building is inside the Scottish Storytelling Center. It's £10 for the haggis and £1.5 for the gravy.

I don't have much to compare it to because this is only my second haggis, but as much as I liked it, it was cheap.

Driven by the curiosity to taste haggins and by the good reviews of this place, we chose it to taste this local specialty without necessarily having to go to a pub for lunch or dinner. We were pleasantly surprised by the strong but very good taste of this dish, so much so that I would have immediately had another portion! If I were to return to Edinburgh I would definitely return to this place!

The exterior doesn't give amazing lunch spot but it certainly is. It's a gem on the royal mile and I recommended it to many people staying at my hostel, especially those wanting to try the traditional haggis, neeps, and tatties. It's a very busy place during lunch and it can be a challenge to find a seat but it moves quickly so often something will pop up. Love the shortbread as well!! Thanks!!! 🙏🏾

It was really nice for us: we wanted Haggis in an unconventional atmosphere - it felt like backstage at a gallery. Large, bright room with an exhibition all around. Also very tasty and prices are great! The lady at the cafeteria-like counter was very nice, the waiter served with a smile and joy

Absolutely loved my experience here! Was recommended this spot to try haggis, neeps and tatties and so glad I took it on. I’m not a huge fan of creamy things but the whiskey sauce was perfectly balanced and not too heavy or salty and everything went so well together! The service was probably the friendliest I encountered in Edinburgh and it’s such a cosy space that puts on storytelling events as well! 🩵

Service was friendly, suggested the Whiskey Mustard sauce. Haggis was adequate, but for £10 the portion was fairly small, would be nice to have it a little bigger.

I tried the haggis, neeps, and tatties which was gluten-free. It did not have a lot of flavor and seemed a wee bit bland on its own. I poured the whiskey mustard sauce it came with over the top and it gave the haggis more flavor. The place was clean and ample seating.
