Veeno in Edinburgh, City of

Veeno was easy to locate, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. A small establishment, it didn't take long to almost fill the tables. The meal, including wine and a cocktail, was served rather slowly, and my wife observed the cook/chef was also doing dishes as well, which made us wonder if Veeno was understaffed. The food and the evening were enjoyable, but not enough to mandate a return in future days.

Had a very warm welcome by alex. He made the effort to chat to us and made some recommendations! Although I'm not a chardonnay fan he gave us another alternative which was beautiful! Alex knew his stuff when it came to wine! He was a great guy and will definitely be returning! Been to the veeno down jn reading and the service was much better here than down south!

This was our first time at Veeno and it’s safe to say it won’t be the last! Alex our incredible server, took us through the Sicilian Wine Tasting and it’s safe to say it was a 10/10 experience from start to finish. Not only did we get to taste 6 fabulous wines but we also got to learn a great deal and eat some wonderful food. Alex took us through each of the wines, explaining each in a very fun and informative way. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening. Oh and the tiramisu was to die for! Would recommend this to anyone wanting to experience an authentic Italian wine tasting in the heart of Edinburgh.

We visited this veeno on a recent trip to Edinburgh and the service was incredible from start to finish, we had previously visited the Bristol branch and have to say this one was much more welcoming. The drinks are good but a tad overpriced and the decor is a bit odd but if you’re in the area it’s a great place to pop in for a quick drink.

my auntie and i were here on saturday afternoon for a bite to eat. the waiter was fabulously welcoming and chatty, a really friendly guy. we were just in for a wee glass of wine, i didn’t have id so ended up on the coffee, but both my coffee and the wine were fab. both of us are vegan and there were yummy options- salad and stew were both delicious. very accommodating for a nice wee afternoon in good company 😊

For en fantastisk koselig plass! Vi kom tilfeldig innom og det var så bra at vi kom igjen dagen etter. Alex serverte de beste viner fra familiens vingård 🤩 Vi spiste Focaccia Csprese og Misto di Salumi, det var en nydelig lunsj for to. Always enjoy trying something new and loved the concept of this place! We had the wine and nibbles which were all perfectly paired and Alex kept us well informed and entertained throughout our visit. Thoroughly enjoyable and will visit again for gorgeous food and wine.

Such a lovely place and we loved Alex our waiter. He was attentive, friendly, and accommodated our weird requests like a side of plain rocket and a “first” shot of tequila for our recently age-appropriate daughter (turns out this was not her first shot). The aubergine appetizer was really, really good - two of us don’t even really like aubergines and we ate the entire thing. Pizza and sandwiches also great.

We had a wonderful meal at Venous and highly recommend. Alex was our waiter and he was outstanding! Couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend.

Wonderful lunch, we had the Sharing platter and the selection was excellent, especially when it was washed down with a bottle of Veeno's own wine. recommended by our server Alex. Alex was attentive and informative and we will definitely be returning.

Absolutely delicious wines with a wide variety of choices. Alex provided excellent and very informative. He treated us like special friends. There were four of us and we each tried a different grape. All were excellent and had very different profiles. Loved the experience and hope to return when we are back in Edinburgh.

A very good option for a high quality Italian lunch - had the Carbonara and a glass of white. Service was efficient and polite, and a few locals in there too which is always a good sign. Will return.

From our arrival until we left my wife and I were treated some great food, nice wines, and a genial informative host. We were on a menu tasting the wines of the proprietor’s Sicilian vineyards. Accompanying the wines was a range of cheese, ham, bread and olives. Each of the 6 wines was introduced and were recommended a savoury accompaniment. Alex, our sommelier for the afternoon paced the presentation of the various wines well. We were not in a hurry and enjoyed the easy rate the various wines arrived. The finale was a sweet Sicilian dessert wine to accompany an excellent tiramisu. Full marks all round!

Amazing "something different". We had the Scicilian Experience with brilliant food and pairing wines. Great value. Very knowledgeable and attentive server, Alex. Really knew his stuff and was there when we needed him, despite how busy he was, without pestering us. Stayed longer than intended. Really lovely day out. Will be back.

We visited Veeno today for the 'Trip To Sicily' wine tasting experience. The wines we drank were all great and the sharing board and dessert were outstanding.
