Currys grate. Onion bhaji are best i have had. Garlic nan is not grate dry and flavourless if am honest. Got the fish pakora tonight and they taste life they were frozen and heated in a microwave bit of a let down. Grate shop But Fresh is best
I hope the staff have woken from their slumber by the time tourist season hits the Royal Mile. It wasn't even that busy with customers. Maybe 5 covers. We were acknowledged quickly with menus. 👍 We pointed out to them that something had been spilt on one if the chairs at our table. Nothing was done about it or even acknowledged. 👎 Then part of our order had been forgotten about. I had to chase this up. 👎Then the table next to us sat the entire time we had eaten, and drank... and used the restrooms before leaving and they still hadn't even had a menu put in front of them. 🤦♂️They also had to chase them up.
The food itself was nice.👍 (Albeit you're paying tourist royal Mile Edinburgh prices). So a bit of a shame really.
Could definitely do better.
For a 4 star I expected better. The staff were very welcoming but the rented apartment was cold, literally and figuratively and very poorly insulated. The heaters were not working. Sewage smells in the bathroom. The terrace at the back is used for storing rubbish of all kinds.
Positive points: close to the center, very spacious and top bedding!
Well...where do I start! Door locked! Person at takeaway hatch asked is we had booked, I said no, she asked how many, I said 4, she said I'll get the door opened. No chat, not interested in customers AT ALL. Lady opened door didn't even acknowledge us. We looked at menu, none came. We decided we would have coffe and cakes. We went to counter, ladies were just chatting, I had to say excuse me.. she turned round and said yes! I asked if there were cakes etc, was told yes it tells you that on the menu!! I asked to see them so we can choose, was told no we just serve them. I went back to table and advised our party we didn't seem welcolme and left. Will not be back.
Food was ok and for Edinburgh on price point for what you get. Not amazing value but city dining.
Service was lackluster and slow. Took a long time for food to come out and the children in the party was getting hungry. What should be good east to get ice cream for them was also difficult and more complicated that it needed to be. Never checked in to make sure out food was alright and if they could get us more drinks so not very attentive.
Would be a bustling busy place with a good atmosphere when the rugby is on however with the proximity to Murrayfield.
Didn’t have half the cocktails in stock, messed our orders up waited 50 minutes for our drinks, ordered a pina colada and when telling the staff member that we thought something was off with the drink, the immediate response was ‘well you’ve been drinking it still’. Rude staff and don’t recommend, not worth the money for the price you pay!
It is consistently messy, with majority of tables uncleared for extended periods. The standard of coffee produced is variable depending on the staff member, with the manager being the worst. He seems too concerned gossiping and giggling with his mates to actually take notice of the disastrous scenes evolving around him. Professional standards have slipped to the point that it barely resembles a Costa store any more and is more a run down version.
