BE CAREFUL ORDER. Our favourite takeaway had closed this week. EXTREMELY rude drivers. Stone cold and hard brick. We keep open minded to try somewhere else. Curry was bland and tasteless. Salt pepper had no season in it. Sweet and sour chicken were swimming in the watery sauce which is very bland. Couldnt taste any sour but sicky sweet. Wont advise anyone to place an order here.

This place used to be decent but what a massive disappointment and a big waste of money. There are other places that are of much higher quality and consistency. Will never be back.

The price was good for the set meal (too good, obviously). Very, very bland chicken curry. Chips were not good. Ribs had hardly any meat - but the sauce was tasty and the little meat was nice. Rice and prawn crackers were decent. Cantonese style chicken was maybe over cooked, as it was very chewy, and the sweet and sour sauce was not the best. Feel a bit let down, as used to be good. Don't think we'll be ordering again. Plenty other options around.

Ordered today (10/12/23) through Uber eats and waited over 2 hours for delivery... had to complain to Uber eats for a full refund... never again!

We ordered first time. Missing items. Food too salty. We asked for simple noodle and we got thin ones. Spend £80 pound on food. Very disappointed 😡

ordered from Lucky Chen via uber eats for a 5.45pm-6.15pm delivery only to be told at 6.45pm that Lucky Chen had cancelled our order!!!!! what a shocking way to treat any customer, spoiled our Saturday night, a disgrace

Pork with Peking sauce far too sweet (couldn't even eat it) Mixed starter (everything cold) Beef chow mein (strange) Egg fried rice just looked like plain white rice,,no egg or colour in it Ribs in the mixed starter had no meat on them Just over an hour to deliver to drum brae which is 2 minutes up the road,,,, everything cold and needed reheating,,,waste of £30

Order lemon chicken tonight via Just Eat (have ordered before) it was horrendous!! Tasted of pure lemon, no sweetness in the sauce at all - will never order again!

Just had a delicious take away from here. I had chicken with pickled ginger and pineapple , husband had crispy chicken with honey and chilli , had with noodles Both dishes extremely tasty. Grandson had chicken chow mein also very nice

My daughter and I had the crispy duck last night and both have sickness and diarrhoea since early this morning. Called to advise them couldn’t care less! Avoid, I will be!

炒饭，炒面和椒盐鸡都很好吃，所有菜饭分量都很足，还送了一包虾片。送到的时候还是热的，很快。 用Uber Eat定的，菜单把我整的有点迷糊了，划半天认出3菜😂。

AMAZING FOOD! The chowmein and lar chee was especially outstanding! Would definitely suggest if you're looking for Chinese food. 💙

I had a truly awful dining experience with the lemon chicken dish. The flavor was overpowering and tasted like a harsh chemical mixture of bleach and sugar. I would not recommend this dish or this restaurant to anyone.

Lemon chicken tastes like bleach and sweet and sour is way too sickly. Super disappointing.

Ordered 3 hours ago and it hasn't arrived. The restaurant are unable to offer any solution other they don't know what happened.

Been wanting to order for weeks but they are no longer taking orders through their website and send you to Just Eat instead. It’s a shame really as Just Eat are shady and I’ve had too many issues with Just Eat. After the rigmarole that I had trying to get my money back on an order from another restaurant that never turned up. I said I would never use just eat again. But if Lucky Chen start accepting orders directly again I’ll be back. But I’m giving it a miss just now as I don’t want anything to do with just eat

Best chicken curry and chowmein we’ve had in Scotland. Very tasty roast duck in plum sauce. Would definitely come again

I regularly get takeaway from here and it's always excellent.

Very busy place when I was in there with boxes of food flying out the door for home deliveries. Staff are nice and the menu was straight to the point. I got the roast pork in peking sauce. They added a bit of chilli to the sauce so it's not just all English style Chinese food where it all tastes the same. Decent enough. Chips were ok and portion was ok. Could have done with more meat but they do give you a half size bag of prawn crackers for free which is cool. All in all decent but nothing mind blowing.

By far the best Chinese food in Edinburgh. Excellent.

I ordered food off just eat, not knowing the place closed not long after( not from here) they accepted the order and then closed for the night without informing me. So they blatantly took my money and scammed me essentially. You’d think they’d not accept the order or call me to say I wouldn’t get food in time.

揸車經過叫了一個大蝦炒麵同埋蝦多士回酒店食，雖然是星期六食晚飯時間但是食物很快便準備好了。價錢合理，食物有預期的水準很不錯。我開頭不知道門口可以停車等待，所以把車停在對面的麥當勞停車場，然後再過去。但也只是多了兩三分鐘，真的很方便。強烈建議大家試一試。

A rest good takeaway and the kids loved the rice, chow mein and also the duck rolls! Great value for the amount of food we bought and they even threw in some free spring rolls. Yummy!!!

I've just been living in the area and working, and this little shop has been a godsend. Huge menu, great flavour, incredible value, and the the people running the shop are lovely and efficient. I cannot recommend enough. Thank you Lucky Chen!

Absolutely brilliant food from here. Used it twice now and both times food comes really quickly and piping hot. And really tasty. The sweet and sour pork was amazing and we've had curries and other dishes which are all delicious!

Never disappointed with meals. Orders ready in good time. Friendly servers.

Two of their Special meals bought last week were the worst Chinese meals we have had. Watery tasteless gravy, tough meat and tasteless chicken, sums up what we received, definitely not recommend to order from here.

I ordered a takeaway for the first time about 2weeks ago on recommendations and we weren’t disappointed loved the food the one thing for me I ordered crispy shredded beef in sweet honey chilli sauce by mistake I don’t like honey but my partner loved them next time I will order the sweet chilli sauce no honey I highly recommend this restaurant it’s the 1st restaurant I have enjoyed we will be back tonight .

We ordered from here and were surprised at how long it took to arrive as was close to an hour and half. We couldn’t track the order as they didn’t seem to be updating their tracking info on justeat. When the delivery driver arrived justeat was still showing that the order was accepted. I was disappointed in the food which I felt was not worth the wait. The fried rice was all sticking together and a bit congealed. The chips were very soggy and the crispy shredded chicken was chewy rather than crispy. This is the first time we have ordered from LUCKY Chen and was following g a recommendation from friends but we won’t be ordering again. We prefer our usual Chinese takeaway.

I ordered a delivery from this place following the recommendation of a friend. It was a surprising result - I loved the food. I have never ordered a Chinese (as I'm Korean and therefore never had the craving for other types of Asian food) but this was lovely. The food was plentiful (I was eating with my three kids and we still had food left) and lovely. It was very quickly prepared and delivered also.

Phoned 20 times on Saturday 3rd October 2020 but always engaged so we gave up. If they are not prepared to answer we will go elsewhere which is shame as we live locally. If they have an exclusive deal with Just Eat then good luck as we do not use them.

Had the most amazing takeaway last night. Everything was fresh and delicious. The shredded chicken in honey and chilli sauce was fantastic. Chicken egg foo young, light and fluffy with lovely white chicken. Definitely recommend. Happy customer

Absolutely fantastic take away! We used to drop in after shopping on a Friday evening but with this pandemic, we have had to order in instead. Much quicker than most and the food is always been fresh and delicious! Always had fantastic service and the staff and delivery drivers are very friendly and helpful. We always add a little extra for the drivers tip. No plans to go anywhere else for our chinese take away. Dogs love the free prawn crackers too 😉

Food was fine but they don't seem to think it's drivers responsibility to close a gate after he opens it. Consequence my dog got hit by a car after getting out of the open gate.

Ok decided to order some food tonight from Lucky Chen as our usual takeaway is closed . It really couldnt be a worse experience . My son had duck that was cremated and not cooked . It was difficult to tear off even small amounts of meat from it . He also has salt and pepper chicken which was so chewy it was difficult to swallow . I had beef curry and im not sure what the " BEEF " was but it wasnt consumable . Absolutely a waste of money and my daughter had warned me the food was bad and chicken was often undercooked , i should have listened !!

I've been using this as my regular Chinese takeaway for almost 2 years now and always satisfied with the quality of the food and the service on the phone. Admittedly I live quite near but the speed of delivery has always been excellent in comparison to the ones I used previously, only once being over the half hour from ordering to delivery. Not sure why this is classed as a restaurant as they only do takeaway yet some reviewers seem to think they have ate here. Maybe confused with the Chinese Manor a few doors along

Received a takeaway for 4 tonight and on opening 1 of the dishes found there to be a strange smell/taste from the chicken. Decided to call and complain and can’t believe the response offering to refund the 1 dish only and drop the cash off even though I paid by card. Tried to blame the supplier of the chicken and argue the case rather than refund the order and potentially keep a once loyal customer. Have used this Chinese for years and won’t be using them again. Avoid.

Very pleasant and always lovely food

We have used this carry out for years when ever we want a Chinese about every 2/3 weeks. the portions are excellent and the food always fresh and hot. all the staff are great and most obliging. Highly recommend for value and flavour.

Chicken curry was disgusting,rubber chicken and reheated chips.wont be back.

Wish I could rate the food but after waiting over an hour for delivery we got a notification that the order had been cancelled. No phone call + no explanation = no dinner! Wont be ordering again.

The food we ordered was rather mediocre. Reheated meat, dry rice and the taste pretty poor and basic. Cannot recommend.

We used to use natural way for years.... They changed the chef and it was never the same, started using these guys and they are fab! Quick service, typical Chinese menu (British Chinese) quo k delivery really freindly.

Sorry, Beef and Tomatoes were very bland. Chicken Curry was good.

Great little place. Very friendly service and prompt only waited 10 mins for drop in order. Food was very good quality and fresh. Decent price for what was ordered. Would recommend the Shredded Chicken in Satay sauce. Top notch

Ordered from here as it’s my local Chinese take away. When it arrived the noodles tasted and smelled like a cigarette had been stubbed out in it. It was absolutely disgusting. I called them to explain and they brought fresh noodles and which also stank of smoke. It was the most revolting chinese I have ever eaten in my life. They would not accept the fact it smelled like smoke, I even gave it back to the delivery driver to take to the shop for proof. I will never order from them again, I am absolutely appalled.

A hurriedly arranged meal with friends. The food was fine, nothing fantastic,although the duck was delicious.Staff were friendly and our crowd all served in good time. The decor is a bit tired and could do with a freshen up as well.All in all, not a bad place to have a quick meal. An OK standard of food and prices were not bad at all.

What the hell rights does ur delivery driver have to help himself 2 a tip then decide to shout at me for asking why he just helped himself... Won't be back in a hurry.. Over priced, over rated and ignorant staff both in shop and delivery......

Don't go there. I tried slaty prawns and there terrible. You can feel it they come out of the freezer. Mix of cold and hot in your mouth. Same night massive headache. Lucky Chen is not lucky with me

I gave this only one star because the food was great but the guy who delivered it was very rude. He had the nerve to ask my husband if he had anything for him when my husband said no he had paid by card online the guy started rambling on that his family needed shoes etc em well thats why you get paid wages!!! Never will i order again from this place as i dont want him back at my door!! Arrogant or what!

Ordered our family dinner just before 8pm arrives at 9.40, by that time kids had cereal and were in bed. Ruined our Saturday...no apology and got offered 10% off out next order, that won't be happening. Very disappointing.

We have used their home delivery service twice now and was amazed at the quality of the food bith times. The chicken satay skewers starter is superb and the lemon chicken is just right. Keep up the good work!

Food took an hour and 30 minutes to arrive and it was luke warm. We phoned prior to ask if our delivery was coming and was told it would be with us in 5 minutes however it took another 25 before it turned up. I will not be returning to Lucky Chen and I advise others to stay away!
