I’m shocked at the previous reviews. Can only say that we had a fantastic meal with great service . Food was delicious and generous. We will be back next time we are in Edinburgh.

Advertised as open until 09.50pm WRONG ! Here at 08.10pm to find them closed. No notice on the door or windows with any explanation. SO ANNOYING ! Not the first time tis has happened either.

I haven't written a review before, but had to write this about getting treated arrogantly by the staff. Please be polite and nice with the customers and don't make it an unpleasant experience for everyone. Treat everyone equal. Thanks..hope they take it constructively to improve.

We have used this restaurant for takeaways on a number of occasions and found it to be of a decent standard. On 3rd March I ordered a takeaway from this restaurant ( at no point being told they were busy)and waited 90 minutes for delivery, following 2 follow up calls to question the delivery schedule. Despite the delay and unhelpful attitude I at least thought the meal would be palatable, unfortunately it was not, the chicken was cooked into submission so much so I couldn’t get the knife to cut through without great effort and even our dog refused to eat the prawn crackers which smelt terrible and tasted the same. Not sure if Wongs is under new management but will certainly be giving it a miss, which is unfortunate

I have never left a review before, but I am so angry after my experience that I feel the need to warn others about this place. I just spent £22.50 for a small bowl of fried rice and bbq pork that was listed on the menu as a “chef’s special.” The bbq pork looked like dried jerky even covered in a sauce. I can’t imagine they would serve that to themselves much less serve it to a customer for £22.50! The worst meal I’ve ever had! Should have known when I saw the completely empty! Arrrgh

Good choices for Gluten free options 👍 only gripe is that despite ordering at the till for takeaway the last 3 times they've got my order wrong and I've had to wait to collect another- I should really check before leaving ! Generally they have provided tasty and well liked food by our family- most as non gluten free and have no complaints.

2130 on a Sunday evening so not expecting tooooo much. My god they under delivered. Call taker rude and abrupt, service really quick tbh but the quality……….Brutally bad.

Have used in the past and tbh food is passable and modestly flavoursome. Ordered 2130 ish, delivered soon after and undoubtedly one on the worst takeaways I’ve ever had………..Very quick delivery but quality was absolutely terrible!!!!!!!! Why guys honestly why!!!!! Taste and deliver. It was just awful.

We went in. Servers were sitting down on their phone and continued to giggle on their phones while we stood there waiting for table service. Eventually came over like she couldn’t be bothered. We decided we wouldn’t trouble them and go for take away instead but they said they couldn’t do the same dishes on the sit in as the take away menu so we decided we would give this restaurant a Miss and leave them to go back to their phones since there was no one else in it anyway and no wonder!

Horrible attitude and raw food! We ordered chicken wings, chicken curry, rice, 1 soup as well as spring rolls. When we complained about the food being raw we were then told we were lying. Appalling don’t-care attitude and I have raised a complaint with Edinburgh council’s food hygiene department.

Food was undercooked and cold, complained and just got shouted at by the manger tell us to get out. Worst food and service ever.

I popped in for a takeaway on a very quiet early Mondsy evening. My order was provided very promptly and was delicious. I was just in the entrance really so can't comment on atmosphere.

Raw food. No refund or credit note given. Was a take away order and called to complain and hung up on. Then went into restaurant and told 1/2 of order was eaten (untrue) and no refund or replacement would be given. Avoid completely.

Wongs is my favourite Chinese been getting delivery's for year, phoned put my order in bbq Ribs, chicken chow mein but wasn't enough for delivery max £15 so disappointed ,had to get my Chinese somewhere else not happy at all, so if Wongs can refuse a £13 order on a week day it's a shame 😡

Place was not busy. Staff were pleasant and the food was okay. Keep it in mind if looking for somewhere to eat last minute in Edinburgh. Salt n pepper ribs were a bit small but okay

Good food and service but restaurant was a bit cold

We were driving off from the Forth bridge and were looking for some place to eat, just saw this restaurant and thought to check. We took takeaway as it was already 10pm & dine-in wasn't possible. The restaurant staff happily told us they would accommodate takeaway, even though it was their closing time. We ordered king prawns in black bean sauce, Sichuan chicken & special wong's chowmein. Everything was delicious. The food was prepared superfast! Glad we stopped & tried :)

Looked online and thought cheap and cheerful. Arrived, and no one was in the restaurant. We started walking up the road to go somewhere else but it was raining so we went back. The food was nice, good portion, and very flavoursome. Staff were friendly. Negatives: no atmosphere. Wine glass had lip stains on it, so I sent it back. The prices on the outside sit-in menu don't match the inside a la carte. At least 4 pounds more per main course. Overall, the verdict, neither cheap nor cheerful, takeaway trying to be a restaurant... a pity it could be good with some more effort... should have kept walking.

Horrendous!!!!!!!😡😡😡😡 Son & daughter-in-law took us for mothers day meal. Ordered starters at the same time but starters came out all separately and very late. We ordered main course and again all came out separately complained as staff where rude manager came over but didn’t give a damn. Never even offer tea or coffee offered us water and used dirty glasses that was the last straw never will we go back totally disgusted I wouldn’t even give a star but had to leave 1 very rude and unrespectful. Anna I wish you where there .

Mother’s Day Horrendous !!!!😡😡 rude staff, meals came out all different times some where finished when other where starting. we where the only people in the bloody restaurant we waited to get drinks never offered any compensation not even tea or coffee. Will not be back. Have to leave a star they don’t deserve 1.

Been going to Wong’s for a long time. Always been happy with the good. But tonight I had a carry out and it was awful. Deep fried chilli beef and it was inedible because it was almost all fat. Had they ran out of beef?

Visited on spec tonight. Staff so lovely and attentive. Food fantastic, so fresh. Bottle of lovely house wine £15.95. Will definitely be back.

Dining in Wongs at the moment. Food was fresh, hot and delicious. Staff very attentive. House wine at £15.95 a bottle very pleasant. No reason to give negative comments from this evening's experience. Keep up the high standards Wongs.

Got a carry out yesterday evening and it was awful. Barbecue Spare Ribs, meat was old and tough. Char Sui Satay, I've never seen pork provided like that, and it was under-cooked. The only thing edible was the rice. Service was unfriendly and unwelcoming.

1st time visiting since lockdown. I believe establishment may well have changed hands. Shame as it was a place I visited often before but not sure I would go back. That sounds dramatic as the food we had was very good and was served very quickly but the niceties were missing. We had the chicken and sweetcorn soup, lemon chicken and sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. I felt I would have been better with a takeaway. The room was really quite chilly No offer of chopsticks No candle food warmers on the table No hot flannels No fortune cookies. Was all over and done with very quickly. As the food wasn't being kept warm it wasn't wise to take a leisurely time to eat and enjoy. Not for a night out, but for just a quick food stop it's OK.

I got a take away from this restaurant and can honestly say it was disgusting. Curry powder. Vegetarian and was full of onions. I phoned and complained. The owner of restaurant was very rude. Tried to say that there is always a difference in take away food. To sitting in. As if I didn’t know what I was talking about. Never again would I use this restaurant. Complete waste of money.

Honestly the worst Chinese meal we’ve ever had.Tasteless sauces and soft slimy texture to the beef and chicken,would not recommend eating here.

Slight error with my choice of dish, however quickly corrected. Very basic layout giving the appearance that the Takeaway element is their main trade. However good social distance between tables and staff wore face coverings while Front Of House. Hand Gel on each table.

We phoned in a large order (7 people) for collection. The beef was chewy and barely edible. The rest of the food was fine however. I rung Wongs to explain that 2 of the meals were unsatisfactory and would they be willing to reimburse us for the cost of those 2 items. The female who spoke with me seemed to agree with this proposal and was initially understanding. She then went off to consult kitchen staff and returned to say that all beef dishes had been enjoyed by other customers that night and that it was just me that seemed to have the problem. Her tone had changed dramatically in the space of 60 seconds. It seems that the kitchen is always "right" and the customer must surely be "wrong" therefore. She reluctantly agreed to a partial refund after dragging her heels. - but insisted that we return to their restaurant for it. She insisted that they could not put any reimbursement back on our payment card unless we did the walk of shame and came back begging for it - she cited technical reasons for this that don't wash with me - she could of arranged a cash reimbursement to be dropped off to us by a delivery driver at any point over the night. I am interested in solutions and not barriers. No, the customer must jump through hoops if they have the audacity to complain. I decided to leave the matter as the debate was going nowhere and I was made to feel as if I was burden. I have a tip(s) for Wongs: Whilst you are trading in Corstorphine, 1. Respect your customers. Value them. They pay your bills and keep you all in work. 2. Don't always believe your kitchen staff - their word is not king. They will obviously not admit to poor workmanship. Residents in Corstorphine have LONG memories. They also share stories of bad experiences of local businesses. Understand that and you might have a chance.....

Got a takeaway from here for the first time. Positives first, nice noodles, nice chips, decent rice, generous portions. Negatives, chewy beef, green Thai curry was gelatinous and not very Thai, mushroom foo yung unpleasant, satay skewers gloopy. Also IMHO either MSG or a tonne of salt were used in the making of the meal. Overall a disappointment

I don't normally lave reviews but felt I had to on this occasion to warn others. Worst Chinese meal I have ever had. No flavours in soup.or curry whatsoever. So bland. Had to add salt and still rotten. I've never had to add spices to a carryout to try and enjoy. Called to complain and asked for a refund, 50% only, as I know they have to survive. Staff uninterested and no offer of a refund. Since the departure of Rosa restaurant has gone downhill. Definitely won't be back.

We have informed they are under new management. Horrible customer service just the way they handle business and the way they treat customer.

Had Takeaway from here over the last few years, more so since lockdown (both of them) as we cannot eat out at the moment.Food still tasty, and portion size reasonable both under old and the new owners (May 2020 change over, but no name change). Confused on some menu items though.The House Special Starters "Wong's Mix Hors D'Oeuvres" changed in December 2020 from having "Prawn Toast" to "Crispy Mango Rolls" in description and in box content.These new items are OK when we got this 2 weeks ago were tasty, but last night the box went back to containing "Prawn Toast".Which is it?Personally I would prefer the Prawn Toast (4 pieces) that we used to have, and got last night in the box, i.e. go back to how it was, but please make it clear on the menu what we are getting so we do NOT order extra Prawn Toast to cover this omission.Also, "Spicy Thousand Chicken" not very spicy. Though it has whole dried chillies through it, they are not hot, need some chilli like in your Salt & Chilli Chicken to make this dish spicy.

Ordered a delivery from here for the first time. Delivery was speedy for a Friday night & the food was tasty. Chicken & sweetcorn soup was delicious & the lemon chicken & fried rice were great. good. would order again. friendly delivery driver.

AMAZING! Trying to find ANY takeaway that is gluten free is nigh impossible. But finding a Chinese one is harder! There food is amazing!! It was so nice to finally have a TREAT. A perfectly cooked, perfectly spiced, great priced, gluten free takeaway! The service was also amazing! Kind, more than willing to explain all the options, patient at all the questions. Needless to say, will be our ONLY takeaway now!

Had a meal at Wongs this evening and the food was good BUT the ambience was nil! Firstly the restaurant was freezing cold, please put the central heating on instead of two useless heaters secondly teach your waiting staff to be a bit more friendly!!!

Los restaurantes son caros. La comida esta bien. . . como tus cosas típicas, pero a precios más altos si te sientas. El aspecto del restaurante en el interior es como el comedor de la escuela hace años, sin atmósfera en absoluto. ¡El personal necesita capacitación en servicio al cliente ya que no es muy acogedor en absoluto! No volveré.

En una semana de licencia del trabajo, nos quedamos en la zona y reservamos restaurantes locales, etc. Reservamos esto para el almuerzo del viernes, sin problemas en el sitio web, etc. No hay llamadas ni correos electrónicos para sugerir un problema. Llegué allí para encontrarlo cerrado con solo personal de cocina en el lugar. ¡No hay servicio de almuerzo! Actualice su sitio web o póngase en contacto con su cliente. Lamentablemente, Rose y David vendieron el negocio. No es tan bueno como antes, ya que la atención al detalle no está ahí. La comida está bien, pero no mejor que eso. El tamaño de la porción está bien para el dinero, pero casi igual que en otros lugares.Como en la nueva dirección no se apresuraría a volver ni recomendar. Negociar la reputación de los propietarios anteriores.

Tomé una toma de aquí y fue horrible. El pepino y la cebolla tierna para el pato crujiente estaban calientes y húmedos como si hubieran sido descongelados en un microondas. Del mismo modo, el arroz frito se parecía más al risotto y la carne en el plato principal que tuve estaba tibia y suave.Absolutamente terrible: nunca lo volveré a usar y no era barato. La peor comida china que he tenido desde una mala experiencia en un restaurante buffet en Canarias, pero al menos por más o menos el mismo dinero, incluimos cerveza y vino en el buffet.

Food was nice enough, though too expensive to sit-in. The main disappointment however was the fact that the heating had only gone on upon the opening of the restaurant rather than an hour before to make it welcoming, so we came in from the cold to a cold atmosphere, not good.

No teníamos la intención de visitar este restaurante, pero el lugar al que íbamos estaba cerrado, así que decidimos probarlo. Nosotros no estamos decepcionados. La comida era excelente y el menú del almuerzo era de buena calidad. Los tamaños de las porciones son buenos y el schezuan tuvo una patada. Definitivamente volveremos. Nuestra única crítica es que el restaurante estaba un poco frío.

Called to order Gluten Free takeaway as I had read from online reviews that Wongs were helpful with allergies. Lady over phone had no idea about anything if I could order anything and said she'd have to ask boss if they could do that. I found them to be very unhelpful over phone, she came back saying they could possibly do that and only listed one or two things that might be ok. I didn't put in an order due to their hesitance and lack of knowledge.

Recibimos una cálida bienvenida y nos llevaron a una mesa. Los tres elegimos comer del menú fijo de precio fijo que era muy buena relación calidad-precio. La comida era deliciosa y grandes porciones. La señora que nos atendió fue genial y amable. Gracias por una agradable velada en su restaurante.

Had a takeaway tonight for me & my sons, cost £21 & what a complete waste of money.. Not one of the 3 meals I ordered looked or tasted like it was meant to.. I had chicken Thai green curry & it was white, bland & watery.. I make my own from scratch & mine is 100 times better.. This was made by someone who can't cook to save themselves.. Will not be back ever again.. Absolutely disgusting, & very angry.. 😠😠

Fui a Wongs a almorzar hoy por primera vez en mucho tiempo ya que no estaba contento con el servicio en la visita anterior. Hoy el almuerzo fue excelente y muy bien presentado. Ahora sirven una mezcla de entrantes como pollo satay y rollito de primavera. Entonces el plato principal de pollo en frijol negro era hermoso y una muy buena porción para el almuerzo. También había una porción muy generosa de arroz. Todo y todo no puedo esperar para volver. No sé si es un chef diferente, pero todo ha mejorado. Fue tan buena relación calidad-precio. mi hija es celíaca, por lo que pudo tener pollo al limón como opción.

Order quite a lot from them usually no complaints, tonight egg fried rice looked like boiled rice, chicken fried rice looked like boiled rice, crispy chilli chicken half portion, and to top it all our delivery was delivered with a dog in the car!!! I'm a dog lover been a delivery driver for 14 years but don't think it's right to deliver food with an animal in the car 😡

My daughter and I enjoyed a great catch up at Wong’s Chinese Restaurant a family favourite where we always enjoy receive a warm friendly welcome. The extensive menu offers a wide selection of styles, Set Meals and old favourites too. We chose Mixed Starters, Crispy Beef, and Wong’s Special Fried Rice and lashings of Chinese Tea. Judging by the empty plates we clearly had enjoyed our meal. Wong’s also offer a popular Carry Out service. Highly recommended!

Wonderful service wanted to have Chinese impromptu, called them up and they had it delivered to our Hotel in 30 mins flat. Kids loved the food and so did we! Cheers and all the very best!

Stayed at Leonardo’s Murrayfield and needed to have food delivery. This is nearest Chinese take out in the area. Maybe we have different taste buds , but it’s not as authentic Chinese food. It’s ok. We have chow mein ( ok) , mapu tofu , orange chicken and Thai beef noodle are ok. But the chicken wings and spare ribs are salty. And they forgot utensils in the bag.

Acabamos de pedir una comida para llevar de Wongs por primera vez, definitivamente no volveremos. Pedí la ensalada de mango, que se veía hermosa en la imagen del menú, pero en realidad era trozos de mango flotando en una salsa de curry, ¡no había ninguna ensalada! El chowmein de pato asado estaba lleno de piel de pato graso. Mi marido tenía calamares fritos que no se podían masticar. Muy decepcionado.

Excellent family run restaurant and very friendly staff

Tuvimos varios excelentes platos de nuestro lugar local en una noche cuando recibimos visitas y todo estaba delicioso. Langostinos Chow Mien, platos de cerdo y pollo al estilo cantonés y arroz y fideos. No le di un cinco, ya que dejaron de lado un tazón de sopa, pero diez minutos después lo llamé cuando lo llamé. Lamentablemente, para entonces ya habíamos empezado a usar los platos principales, así que no se comía.

6 of us visited and all ate gluten free as family member has coeliac. We visit Wongs fairly often. On this visit food was much poorer. Sweet and sour was hard dry meat balls and thin sauce with massive chunks of veg came in separate bowls. Overall disappointing.

I have been to wongs a few times for a sit in meal and I also have had takeaways delivered the food has always been first class along with the service and it is very well priced for traditional Chinese food and there delivery service has always been quick and I would defiantly recommend to others to try this restaurant.

The food is very good and is well priced, the staff are very friendly and helpful and will give you an accurate as possible estimated time of arrival for your order if you phone up for a delivery and you can phone your order in for collection so that it is available for you arriving to the restaurant to collect. The drivers are polite and friendly and will do their best to get the food to you as quick as they can. You are needing to phone up if you are wanting a delivery or you can phone in your collection order. The food can be prepared quickly and you will not wait long on your meal even if you do not phone in your order ahead of arriving at the restaurant. They also have restaurant sit in side to the business and the staff are very friendly and helpful and offer first-class service. They have assortment of wines spirits and beers they also have non-alcoholic beers and a good selection of soft drinks, water is available on request, they also do very good coffees( they are good at making cappuccinos lattes as well as standard coffees and pots of tea) Is are very good restaurant and has very good takeaway service would recommend to anybody looking for good Food. They have got toilets facilities that are always very clean and working and you can pay by card.

Group of us were booked here for the set lunch menu. A good choice of starters and mains with all the usual favourites.
