Came in and did tuesday night burger special. Great deal. Reservation website said nothing available we walked in as close to hotel and they had plenty of availability. Burger was good over seasoned with salt but tasty.
Fries and glass of wine included for $20. Worth it. Our waitress was kind and efficient. Believe she had a full plate as did take long time to get order in. Get condiments after food was delivered to table etc.
I tried focaccia with egg for my brunch. This is an amazing place. Very tasty food and brilliant view of the beach. The staff is also friendly and nice 🤍🤍
Bonito pub, el personal del bar era muy amable. . El lugar era agradable y cálido, que era acogedor en el clima frío. Buena variedad de cervezas y muy buena comida. .
Little gem of a Chinese restaurant within 5 min walk if you're staying at the Novotel.
Food was amazing. It felt like it has an authentic Chinese touch to it. Very friendly staff too. Good options for vegetarian people too.
I was with friends, and this was by far the worst experience we had in Edinburgh. In a city full of such kind people, the staff at Pilgrim were incredibly rude. We stood in front of the beer taps for over 10 minutes without being acknowledged. When I asked one of the guys, he ignored me. Minutes later, I asked a female staff member, and she responded with an extremely rude tone and expression, saying it was on the other side. It wouldn’t have cost anything to be honest and polite. I will never go back, and I definitely do not recommend this place. Terrible experience
Old school, stripped back bar probably best known nowadays for the connection to Ian Rankins Rebus.
Great service, no gimmicks (or fruit machines!!) and well made and reasonably priced rolls.
Probably hasn't changed at all in the last 80 years.
Sunday roast, you might think beefeater but think again, undercooked hard almost raw potatoes and parsnips, cold sirloin with lots of fat and cold turkey, staff on phones and kitchen cook wanders out and uses his phone at the dining area window, hands in pockets.

Aiden was first class. I'm disabled and he went out if his way to help me. He helped get up from my seat . When I raised my hand to get the bill , his colleague missed it and he came to the rescue. I've been watching him and he has never stopped. He made my day. Thank you Aiden at kinnaird

We had a falafelwrap and donner & chips.
Falafel: falafel itself wasn't bad; salad was cursory and tasteless. No tahini sauce! Bread just about fresh, but not very good.
Doner & chips: meh. Sauces ok if not seriously flavourful. Meat tasty enough but nothing great. Chips very average.
All this for £2-3 more per item than I would expect to pay.
