A very good place for a quick bite, I have ordered a couple of times and always fresh boiling chips and cheese. The staff is so friendly and chatty, prices are affordable and you have a variety of choices.

2X large fish & chips with curry sauce. Added salt & vinegar. Couldn't fault it. Belly buster. Called in to order and collect. In & out in five minutes. Well fried & very generous portions. Pricing was fair enough.

This chip shop is a hit and a miss sometimes the fish and chips are excellent but sometimes the fish is nice but the chips let them down So hit or a miss

Pizza was good but chips were undercooked normally order food from here quite often but sad to say I'll never eat the chips again

Service one ⭐ food not bad but could be better mostly dry kebab and pizza and free street parking available.

When they get my order right it's an amazing place they just need to listen better and get my orders correct.

I really don't know how you eat in this place??!!! We are in 2023 and these serve food that not even dogs or foxes would eat.... those who work there are shoemakers... and not kitchen professionals.. I am addressing those who fry and not those who they serve customers...I advise you to change the grease every now and then...incredibly you serve rubbish!!!!!!

Good food staff were friendly. Well worth the effort to go and try, prices are average as to every where else.

Meals recently have fallen very below par. I am a regular Tuesday night customer and have noticed the quality and quantity of food has nosedive over the last few weeks. Paid £4 tonight for 1/3 of a smoked sausage, a large single fish, that looked like bait to catch s decent fish. Paid £35 for food worth half the cost. Will give this one more try, hoping 🙏 that things improve! If not they will lose my custom.

Used to like this chippie but last 3 times some orders were missing resulting in having to wait until it was delivered again. Last time totally wrong order no refund or order to replace was offered. Kept the money as i payed online. Disgrace.

Was in here last night for a quick bite to eat as passing. I woman whom was clearly struggling with life asked for chips for 50 pence and they gave her a free bag 🥰 thought this act of kindness from the staff and owner was so kind

Ordered shish, kebab to say it was revolting is being polite, bread brick hard, steak definitely not char grilled,taste less it was a waste of a good food almost criminal how they cooked it, lol, waste of a good bit meat.wont ever be returning I wldnt gee it 1 star, I'll stick to my normal take away Turkish kabab never disappointed, shame on you samsun's👎👎👎👎

Decided to pop in here as was quite hungry and nothing else was open. Got charged £5.20 for a cheeseburger single which was about a 4/10 for taste. Wasn’t even a quarter pounder was more like a McDonald’s burger. Absolute disgrace. Would not recommend.

They keep upping there prices every other month just a chips and cheese wrap is over a fiver now, I don’t get why they’ve made them smaller now too.

Decent chippy with a wide range on offer. I particularly like their Calzones and the choice between a large or small fish and chips is a good idea especially for those days you are either particularly hungry or not. The staff are friendly and efficient and there's lots of them so you don't wait long. Always get a friendly hello on my arrival. Would highly recommend if you are in the area

Ordered a Turkish style pizza, The pizza was bland and dry but the kebab meat put on it was shocking! Looked like dry rats tails, I am shocked they would send something out like that, it was horrible. Won’t be going back.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We were staying in a hotel but fancied something different and came across this wee takeaway. Someone asked for a spoon for their kids ice cream and as the staff member got to the back of the shop she wiped her nose up her hand, got the spoon and handed it over, still didn't wash hands. 9 staff members behind the counter, 3 had masks on but only 1 was wearing it correct. Touching cash, the till, computer screens, serving different customers and not once did any staff member wash or sanitise their hands even touching food including the 1 who had wiped her nose up her hand. I was having a wrap and seen 1 guy actually pushing it flat with his hands 🤢 put me off, didn't hang about and certainly won't be going back.

It's time for the big eats n treats at Samsun's at drylaw shops went and got a mixed meat kebab I was absolutely stuffed with the amount of meat I got enough for 2/3 people depending how. Hungry you are value for. Money

It's ok they've messed the order up a few times with parts of meals missing and what not, the pizzas tend to be really nice but sometimes the base is different and ruins the pizza the Donner wrap is lovely and the pakoras and chilli sauce is really nice too, only 3 stars for though due to the several times they messed an order

Was really lazy and got it delivered one night. Came within 15 minutes, the chippy was great!

Friendly staff, good food, too bad they do not sell "lahmacun" or "pizza turca" (known in Spain with that name) - I am a regular customer, so I recommend it!

One of the best takeaways in the EH4 area the food is always fresh and delicious In terms of price and quality of food it cannot be matched. Edit [June 2020] the dedicated team at Ferry Road always go the extra mile to help me [severely disabled] their food, as always, is fresh, hot and is delivered safely/quickly by their staff. Cannot praise this branch [Ferry Road] enough.

I've just had easily the best fish and chips I've ever had from Samsuns this evening. The fish was lovely and fresh, batter fluffy and perfectly complimented with a sprinkling of salt, little splash of vinegar and a good helping of broon. I'm sat here in awe at how insanely good the chips were, the absolute star of the show - incredibly outshining the fish! Crispy on the outside, not too greasy and cooked all the way through. Absolutely sublime. Well done Mr Samsun!

Placed an order via just eat for just under £40, order was cancelled so I phoned to ask why...very rude guy said i'm far too busy so rejected it, not delivering to you but you can come and collect it if you want it. Shocking way to speak to a customer that uses them regularly. Well we won't be using you again.

Just spent £16.80 for 3 suppers,chips were disgusting,half of them were green,my wife took what we didn't eat back to show what we had been served, (not looking for anything other than an apology.Two of the staff called her a liar (old blonde and young blonde)said she must have got them somewhere else,it must also be said girl with black hair did apologise.We have been regulars since it opened.Will never go there again.

I gave it a 3 because the chips and gravey was extremely watery and they used bisto! Not official chippy gravey, ruined it for us, the chicken Pakora was nice, fritters, mozzarella sticks all nice, they should think about changing the spring rolls, they weren't very nice, the fish and chips from here are always nice

Awful. The kebab was not fresh. It was stinking. The guy behind the counter was totally indifferent and slow. Several times asked me what I would like. Might be he has bad memory.

Surprised at some of the comments. I use the one on Ferry Road and have found the food and service to be great. Staff always very polite, food served quickly and nice and fresh unlike another review said. I've ordered online a few times too and had it delivered quickly and well packaged and pricewise it's very, very reasonable. Anyone who doesn't think so should try travelling outside of Edinburgh. At the end of the day, it's not gourmet food and it's not trying to be. Pizza, chips, kebabs and all the usual takeaway stuff basically but well priced and rather tasty. Oh, and one more thing - it's clean. I don't feel like I'm taking my life in my hands everytime I order.

Food is terrible, they obviously keep it for days on end. Would not eat there even if I was forced. The only thing worse than the food is the staff. (Especially the old blonde haired women) she treats customers with no respect and charges them more what is priced. Horrible experience would never go back.

The only way to end your night out. It's a takeaway, so set you expectations to "grease, chips and simple delights", and the prices are really great for the center of town. I recommend the king rib. 8/10
