Tuvimos una comida realmente encantadora aquí el sábado por la noche. Comida muy sabrosa - tenía pares de berenjenas y verde su pollo con pan nan (que era encantador y suave). Poppadoms también genial. Los camareros eran agradables y nos ofrecieron una bebida gratis después de la cena (aunque tan lleno que no los tomamos en él! )

I will never go to that place again!!! The employees are racist and rude. Today I went to collect there and they kicked me out of there saying that it was not there that I would collect my garbage food.

Starter Tiger Prawn fine. Butter chicken, tender and moist, but no flavour at all to the sauce. Lemon lassi was a bit salty, but with no other flavour. Told waiter, who added lemon, did not offer to change it, and chuckled when I said it was no better.

Friendly, value for money. Reliable establishment.

Mi esposo, celíaco, visitó recientemente con amigos. El personal era ignorante cuando preguntó sobre el gluten libre. Los restaurantes indios son normalmente muy buenos para la comida sin gluten. Sin embargo, a pesar de hablar con el personal que parecía desinteresado, estuvo ‘pegado’ y enfermo durante días. El servicio también fue lento. Huelga decir que no volverá.

Fantastic place to eat food was fab. Staff very polite and friendly.

Lovely restaurant in Morningside just by Churchill bus stop.Two poppadums with pickles x3 fresh onion tomato and cucumber. Wonderful sheek kebab well cooked with nice fresh side salad.Second starter king prawn with potato and peas with a gorgeous spicy sauce the prawn was cooked superb compliments to the chef. Main northern garlic chilli chibken .Generous portion of chicken for one which we shared with a side dish of tarka dall steamed rice and a fab fresh chapati .Bottle of chilean sauvignon blanc £19 very acceptable.Bill £54

Yesterday I was visited this restaurant with my friend. We ordered mix kebab, garlic bread and chilli chicken. 1st thing lamb was not good cooked in mix kebab. And chilli chicken it's the most spicy dish which they mentioned in menu. But in reality it's not at all spicy. It's sweet. Atmosphere is good. Totally it's not worth of that price.

after a recomendation I travelled from midlothian to pick up a carry out meal .... this was the best I have ever had , chicken was tender and tasty, couldn't fault it. This is our new regular

Ordered online and was so so disappointed. Genuinely the blandest curry I’ve ever had. Ordered a vegetable korma and the veggies were boiled huge chunks of mushrooms and what looked/tasted like frozen peas and carrots. My partner had a dahl and said it was okay but needed salt and definitely wouldn’t order again.

Ordered online the set meal for two plus some additions. Collection from the restaurant we were greeted well and our takeaway meal was given to us in a speedy manner. At home the food was hot well cooked well seasoned and of excellent quality. If only we lived 500 miles closer. Totally recommended

We have been regulars at Morningside Spice for many years but it’s getting better and better Starters, mains, rice and paratha were all freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. It’s definitely the best Indian in south Edinburgh

Got my food in actually 10 minutes! And all plant-based 🌱 very sweet people!! Definitely gonna come back. The food always stays warm because they place it on a lil heater. The interior also looks so Indian 😂 love it. Student discount is so helpful & considerate🙏

We got a takeaway on Saturday night. Order through their website for collection. Everything was perfect. 20% off made it even better. Would recommend Lamb Bhuna and Red Fort Chicken. We always come back to morningside spice.

A warm welcome and a delicious starter on the house set the tone for a very pleasant experience. House wine was so-so but the home made kulfi icecream was a dream! Would go back.

Delicious food with nice presentation. Quantity served was also good.

I really like this place. It's usually quiet, which I personally enjoy. If you're a student you get a 10% discount, and all the dishes are already very affordable at around 9-14 quid max for a main dish. And the food is delicious. I get a different dish everytime i come and have yet to be disappointed. The service is great, very chill and kind staff. Just not trying to be anything but what it is, a really good restaurant.

Food is excellent. Staff lovely but restaurant was so cold we had to eat with our coats on.

The place itself is a bit dated but warm, waiter friendly, we went on the meercat 2 for 1 offer but only found out at the end this is on only starters and mains not rice, nanns or sides so beware as information is sparse. The food, starters, tandoori were generous and tasty as were rice and nanns but the mains (classic) were very bland and the sauce had a taste resembling preservatives the kind from a supermarket jar curry, I myself do cook well so have a good understanding of taste. We had a good enjoyable drink but not loads then at the end upon asking for the bill we were informed of the terms of the meercat offer in full, bill presented "do you want to tip" "no thanks" so paid by tap with card and did not get a receipt, upon returning home and checking my bank statement I found the payment was £10 more than stated at the time so would advise to be very careful if choosing to eat here, I would not return myself nor recommend.

Ordered here for the first time and the last the food was look warm it resembled more like a dog's dinner. However a lesson learnt never again

Superb, Good service through out the nite.

We just walk-in this place it’s quite empty when we visited,so we got seat immediately. Restaurant ambience is really nice. We tried different varieties in menu. In that Fish pakora is outstanding, mixed grill is bit hard to eat. And we customised for chilli chicken curry it is so delicious. Our waiter is so helpful and well mannered. As we are students we got 10% discount on bill as well😀We will visit for sure again

Second visit. Fiorst was before lockdown. Decor has been updated. Fodd was very good. Lamb and chicken pathias full of flavour. Prawn jalfrezi hot and tasty. Chicken Karahi full of flavour. Good service. ala ion all a good evening out.

Third visit here and on all occasions the meal and service has been first class . Reasonably priced food from the starters to main .

My go to for a curry. Only had take away. It’s always hot and very tasty. I get the kofta exotica, I’m vegetarian and like sweet mango curries. It’s delicious. My partner loves the meat dishes too. Pakoras and naans are always great! I won’t get a curry from anywhere else!

Popped in at nearly 9pm. Seated right away.. absolutely lovely service by the Waiter. Place brightly but tastefully decorated for Christmas. Every dish... delicious and well presented with lots of fresh salad and coriander.

Friendly staff, but food just not really in the same league as other Indian restaurants in the area. Inside was quite dated, but that wouldn't have mattered if the food had been better.

Had the loveliest Kathmandu murgh last night.. delicious! We were short of time unfortunately, but the staff were excellent and attentive and couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommend 😀

Very enjoyable meal. All the dishes were really tasty. The Chilli Garlic Chicken and Tikka Masala are our two favourite dishes.

Very poor standard, both our curry’s were bland,absolutely no taste what’s so ever. I’ve looked at the reviews and thinking this can’t be right but it’s true. Food not up2 much here. We won’t be back. The place was absolutely empty also. Few cobwebs in the corners aswel and dead spiders. Needs cleaned. AVOID

Fantastic Indian food, love the (very) green Bengali chicken. They've been very accommodating to allergies and great with our baby daughter.

The food was piping hot and but pretty bland. W rooted for a chicken madras, aloo saag, Daal Samba and chicken korma for our children. The lentil curry had the wrong lentils and was totally flavorless. The aloo saag was better but also very bland. The pilau rice only tasted of cinnamon and the chicken madras consisted of anaemic pieces of chicken swimming around in mildly spiced tomato purée. The drinks to ages to come so the highlight of the meal was the naan bread!

Ordered through just eat and the delivery was 10 minutes earlier, piping hot. I ordered the chicken Madras with pilau rice and it was lovely. Would definitely consider these again the next time I want a curry fix

First time we have been to Morningside Spice (MS) for takeaway in about 9 months. This was due to the Covid lockdown, trying out the new kid on the block (Slumdog) and only doing takeaway once every 2 ish months. Other places come and go but MS simply delivers the freshest, most consistent and tastiest Indian food in the area. I wonder if it’s because it is serving its restaurant quality food as takeaway?! I had Chicken Karahi - perfect and my partner Mixed Biryani. It’s simply the best option in Morningside.

I think maybe we came on the wrong night, but this was a strange one. They seemed to be under staffed (the delivery driver was bringing food to our table and taking our payments at the end). Went with some friends and waited a fair bit for our food ( got there at 5 and the food came out at 645). Our orders were mixed up too ..I ordered lamb vindaloo and got chicken - pointed his out to the waiter and he brought it back to me 30 seconds later minus the chicken). The man bread order got mixed up. On the whole, maybe not the best of service, but the food was excellent. The mixed kebab starter was nicely spiced, and the vindaloo tasted great, although was a lot milder than I'd expected. I liked the food so feel sorry for marking it down due to the service, but I'll be back to enjoy some more.

This is an excellent Bangladeshi restaurant situated a few minutes from the Edinburgh City Centre in Morningside. When we arrived on the off chance it was packed to the rafters with a large party but the proprietor made us very welcome and soon found a table for us, a party of four. The menu was extensive and reasonably priced and the food was excellently cooked. I have nothing but high praise for this restaurant and wish it well for the future.

Enjoyed a very tasty meal here with friends. Definitely to be recommended! The service was excellent.

Slow service, took 45 minutes to get a drink and the food was awful, chicken jalfrezi was a watery chicken stew with virtually no spice. Do not go here

Went with a friend and her mother and loved it. The Madras was the best I've had for a while and quite tasty. Good sized portions and good service throughout. Will come again!

Came for Christmas. The seats had big Santa hats as covers but I don't think they get the idea of Christmas crackers. There was only 1 between 2??? The winner gets the hat, the joke and the present, the loser gets nowt!!! The food was great and lots of it. We went for the set meal for about £22 each and it was worth it. Starters and then 3 big main course dishes between 4 but there was a doggie bag later. The lager was fine except for the last one, which was flat. They seemed to be having trouble with the pump. The place was only half full and not much atmosphere, but the food made up for it, except for the crackers!

Maybe it was because it was an early evening visit but my wife and I were not overly impressed with the quality of our meals, we have sampled Indian cuisine on many occasions and feel qualified to state that Morninside Spice need to ‘up their game’

Best Indian restaurant in the city. They are one of the few that have chapati on offer too. The service was quick and very polite indeed but the highlight was the food - the tender lamb was quite something.

Upon ordering, we told the waiter we want to order some dishes later, to which he replied I'm not going to come back and forth to take your order. Extremely unacceptable, we just left.

Went with partner, had lots of food and was so happy. Liked especially the saag panir and the aloo panir! Friendly and attentive staff.

Went with my food lover partner and ordered 6 different dishes. The mains are generous and everything was delicious. Highly recommend saag paneer and aloo paneer.

Why do they not put spice in the meals POOR

I ventured in with a friend on a Tuesday evening to take advantage of my Meerkat Meals voucher, although I have have lived in the area for many years I had somehow overlooked this gem!

Tasteless, unseasoned curry. Size of the naan bread was like half of regular naan from any other takeaway.

We are new to the area and wanted to try and find a good place for an Indian take away. Having previously lived in the city centre we had a couple of brilliant Indians (mother India and kebab mahal) and we were keen to find our new local replacement!!

Llegamos con el restaurante ocupado un buen ambiente en el lugar.

Queríamos un lugar para relajarnos y comer. Necesitábamos algo emocionante para mantenernos despiertos, así que intentamos Indian.

My regular, consistent good food

Last minute decision to go out for food. Used here plenty times in the past & yet again not disappointed. Staff efficient & not over friendly. Food great & inexpensive. Much better than neighbouring curry house Definitely recommend Thanks

Really disappointing - firstly they didn't have our table reservation, but fortunately the place was almost empty, then it took over half an hour to get the attention of the staff to make an order (four staff, two tables, but no attention at all). Two hours after arriving, our food arrived. They had got at least one of the dishes wrong i.e. one was chicken not lamb (the other they just said was 'vegetable' and wouldn't say any more, we had ordered balti vegetable, but it wasn't balti...). TThe food was OK, but drinks were super expensive so ended up about £35 per head when only half people had starters. Biggest gripe was the service though, it was really shocking despite being almost empty.

Myself and my partner ordered from here tonight , it was a disgrace it took 2 hours past it's stated delivery time to be delivered to us . Their excuse was that the restraunt was busy. Where my partner lives is basically down the road if driving so it is just so funny how it can take so long . The raging thing is that we actually thought oh they'll come and sat for ages waiting for two hours , the only thing they offered was a side when we order next time but trust me there isn't going to be a next time . we rang this restraunt a few times before they answered which honestly my opinion is bad service .I think me and my partner quite rightly deserve a full refund for waiting those two hours and honestly for your terrible service and awful food. Wise warning to anyone ordering here DONT because you'll recieve terrible service , if it was not for the just eat staff kindly helping us we would not have coped

Got my order wrong the first time, but rectified this as soon as I pointed out the error. The food was tasty and reasonably priced.

Popped in to Morningside Spice with my colleague, as we both fancied a curry. So glad we did. Menu was pretty standard but the food was excellent and the service was very friendly. The restaurant itself was clean and the decor very pleasant. Would happily eat there again.

Good price (£7.95) for starter, main course and dessert. Décor is a little old fashioned, though.

Ordered 2 dishes, rice and Nan. Free nibbles added in which were quite delicious. Outstanding food , courteous staff. Perfect!!

We visited today and the food was delicious as usual. The service was very quick too. The only complaint I had was that the portion sizes were greatly reduced from our last visit. Three bits of meat in one curry and four in mine!

Came in and seated fairlyquickly. Once seated, pretty much was ignored the entire night. No standard Papadums were served to use (but others got them) and whist the food was nice, portion sizes were quite small. Outside there is a sign which students get 10% off but the waiter tried to deny it and say it was for take away only (it states for take away and in dine). Overall, if the service improved it would be a great spot but until then i will not be returning.

Absolutely super tasty soft lamb korai with fresh chapati with basmati rice was my dinner in busy Friday Thanks Morningside spice I will definitely come back
