I have purchased take away a few times and every time it is exceptional. The food is magnificent, it is prepared quickly , and the service is exceptional. Good prices too. I’m very happy.

Food was hot and fresh but curry dishes were tasteless, bland and watery. This place used to be good but is now operating on its previous reputation which is not what it used to be.

A hidden gem… super fresh and tasty!

Had lamb karahi and a chicken stir-fry with rice to go. The food was expédient, the manager was friendly, and it was all very tasty. And very hot!

Ordered a Chicken Karahi take away and what was delivered was chicken tikka meat in a creamy sauce ... clearly think I don't know my food! Expensive too, not planning to order from them again.

Waited for 2 hours for delivery. Food was luke-warm upon arrival, cauliflower bhaji not cooked, poppadoms burnt and everything else below average.Won't order again and this place was recommended by a friend.

Been waiting for over 2 hours for the food, still nowhere to be seen even though its been out for delivery for the last hour. Phoned up and the man on the phone couldn't have cared less. Avoid at all costs, there are better Indian takeaways in Edinburgh, stupidly I ordered from this dump at the suggestion of someone else.

Ordered several vegetarian dishes (saag paneer, vegetable karahi, tarka dal), naan and rice and they were all great. Each dish had a distinct flavour, unlike some Indian restaurants where everything looks and tastes the same. The veg karahi had plenty of green chillies and was delightfully spicy. The dhal was smoky and flavourful. The saag paneer was creamy, a bit sweet, and you could actually taste the spinach. The portions were large (incl. the naan), so we're looking forward to leftovers. The average rating on Google reviews severely undersells this place!

Just moved nearby and tried Ruchi for the first time. Tandoori lamb chop freshly cooked and really tasty. Saag aloo has loads of flavour and another higeportion. And rice is rice! Recommend!

Got a chicken tikka masala didn't expect it to be almost sweet like. Interesting. The rice was good and the peshwari naan was standard. The chicken pakoras were very good though. Probably the highlight of the meal and the poppadoms were too. Won't be rushing back here..

Great service, food really tasty and they delivered exactly what we asked for including extra chilis! Spice level just right and stand out flavours on all dishes. Thank you, so glad we moved close by, we will see you soon! :)

Over many years I've ordered so many different dishes,..... Anybody who gives this takeaway taste sensation any less than five stars... Is bitter maybe because there was a delay... Most likely traffic I can't get enough.... Choose here.. Amazing!

Food was really bad. The rice was uncooked. My partner's lamb dish didn't have much of meat and my dish was as bad as his. It felt that someone opened a jar with ready sauce and added the smallest amount of meat. I don't recommend it. It used to be a great place but not anymore..

i have ordered here so many times since 2019 that the staff members seem to sometimes recognise me - the food is delicious, portions generous, prepared quickly. i wouldn't order takeout anywhere else in edinburgh because ruchi's is always consistent. ONCE (out of many times) they missed out one of the curries (we ordered for 6), and when they sent the order again they included free vegetable pakoras. cannot say a bad word about this place, amazing stuff!! :)

Worse Indian takeaway I've ever had, never again.

Had heard from a few friends this was place to go for a lamb madras , I never had a madras before this but my cousin David is the king of the madras so I was influenced by him! I went for the lamb as Hudson has an allergy to chicken so all was well. I was startled to realise this restaurant is placed 1,237th best in Edinburgh when I’ve been telling everyone it’s manhattans finest! Anyway long story short, I got a half poke of McDonald’s chips and 4 burgers and just told the driver to make a u-turn and get out my sight. Will try one day. I will be in robbies bar this weekend selling sandwiches if anyone wants to pop in thanks

This is my local takeaway and the only one I go to regularly .food always freshly cooked and tasty, never been disappointed. Definitely deserves five stars .

Some of the best Indian Currys I've ever tasted. Excellent. The Delivery service always arrives before the time quoted when ordering. I highly recommend.

Hemos estado pidiendo comida para llevar de Ruchi en bastantes ocasiones, principalmente porque somos lugareños y mi esposo disfruta de la comida india. Lamentablemente, hoy hemos estado muy decepcionados con la comida entregada en nuestra puerta, tanto el pollo Korma como el pollo Tikka Masala no tenían absolutamente ningún sabor, los panes naan se estaban cayendo en pedazos y toda la experiencia fue muy, muy pobre. Mi esposo se comunicó con Ruchi, pero todo lo que escuchamos fue que este mensaje se transmitirá al chef. . . ¡VERDADERAMENTE DECEPCIONADO Y NO PEDIRÁ OTRA VEZ!

Never had a bad thing to say about this place but last night we ordered veg pakora, onion bahgees and a vegetable korma for 3 vegetarians. Food arrived and we plated up all the food and when we went to top the rice with the veg korma it turned out it was a chicken korma. Called and advised of the mistake and was asked... are you sure it's chicken?, what? I think I know the difference between chicken and veg?! Was offered a veg korma but we'd already poured the chicken korma over the rest of the food. Ruchi would not give a refund or a new takeaway. The only thing they offered was a free veg korma, nothing else! £20 down the drain. Won't be back and neither will anyone I know that uses the place. Terrible service.

Best curry house in Edinburgh. Hands down. Returned here on spec. tonight after having moved away a year ago. Haven't found anywhere else that comes close.

We ordered popadums, a pakora starter, two main dishes, fried rice, and naan bread for delivery on a Saturday evening, and it turned up much faster than the one hour stated. The food was excellent. The chicken tikka in the main dishes (Nentra and Kathmandu) was lovely. All of the other stuff was really tasty. This was more than enough food for two, and in fact we got two more meals out of it. Ruchi was recommended by a friend, and in turn, I can recommend it here.

Hands down the best Indian food in Edinburgh! Takeaway always arrives early and piping hot. Deeeeelicious!

Worst Indian Takeaway I ever had, went straight to bin..

Excellent service and food was amazing. Veg and chicken pakoras were fresh, huge and really tasty. Would definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Indian food at affordable price. Good taste and quantity. Cutting down a star because at times i find rice half cooked. Bit more attention would help

Disgusting/inedible. The naan was charcoal black on one side, the vegetable pakoras had clearly been fried a number of times and were also burnt to a crisp. The spicy poppadoms appeared shop bought and re heated, which were burnt - and also had a mud looking like substance on. We ordered a selection of sausages - ordered mint sauce (which was yellow and unsure what this was). Ordered a butter chicken curry, which was just a chicken korma with the appearance and taste of baby sick. None of the food appeared fresh, all the sides had been fried to be reheated a number of times, including chips and rice. I phoned and spoke to the manager who advised me that he himself had checked the food and if I didn’t like it I should “make it myself”. I requested he come and collect the takeaway so I could show him the burnt food items, or request a refund which he stated he would not drive “all the way back to my apartment for” and Overall, rude staff and awfully prepared reheated, overlooked food which was totally inedible and was all thrown in the bin.

Love Indian food, however this was very disappointing. Meal arrived late and cold, sent chicken meal instead of lamb. We contacted them to complain, we were offered replacement food or a free dish with next order. NEXT ORDER I DON'T THINK SO Eventually agreed to 50% refund. Won't be back Ev

Have moved out of the area few years ago but when visiting friends decided to get a takeaway. Still the same good quality as it was years ago. Very pleased.

I’m sad to say that after being loyal customers of Ruchi for some time, we won’t be ordering again. We had the House Thali (£25) but when we checked our bank statement at end of month we discovered we’d been overcharged by £15. We rang them and were told that “it had been a busy night and they’d meant to ring us back about the mistake”. Despite recognising their error, the man on the phone was very rude indeed and not apologetic. Because of this customer service and the way we were treated, we won’t order from here again.

I've been ordering from Ruchi for a few years now and food is always good quality. Chicken Pakora starter size is large and very good.

Have tried a few of the curries here and they have all been very good. Normally takeaway and service is good.

Admittedly we benefit from living very close to Ruchi's (easy fast delivery, warm food) but even then I have to give them five stars for delicious food and very little issues (I believe they have forgot our naan order once or twice but delivered it soon after). I love the grilled chicken (especially the whole half on bone) and the veggies sides are very tasty and a great value too.

Richie is our local Indian restaurant. The owner and all staff are kind, welcoming and friendly. They remember customers by name/address and most importantly the food is beautiful, flavourful, well portioned and always warm on delivery. Would highly recommend. It’s by far our favourite delivery in town.

It'd alright. .when it'd good its very good

Absolutely raging! When my food arrived, part of my order was missing and the food that I did get was awful. The Jalfrezi was inedible as it burnt the mouth clean off me, I could not eat it. The Methi Gosht needed armbands as it was swimming in horrible oil. £31 on my treat meal and it was lousy, not to mention when the delivery driver came back with the rest of my missing order it was as cold as ice. I will never get food from this place again. So angry at wasting so much money that all I could eat was the naan bread. 31 quid dinner and all I could eat was their lousy Nann bread. Save your money people and buy an Indian ready meal from Iceland! Not to mention the delivery driver who was that paranoid he would not let go of the bag when he was handing me it till I gave him money, then had the cheek to pull my own goddam door shut on me. Honestly, you get better service at Mcdonalds! Cheaper too. When I called the place to complain about my meal he hung up on me.

Terrible service, its always late and the staff are extremely rude. The driver went to Leith instead of Newington this time, Does he not know what a post code is? When I called the restaurant they said it would be another 20 mins so the food would have been cold. He then called me to tell me he had canceled my order and wouldn't deliver to me because apparently I hadn't paid?? "under new management" but still a disaster.

Went there tired and starving. Prompt service. Excellent food. Extremely reasonably priced. Highly recommended the fried rice and sheek kebab that we tried.

Always order indian from Ruchi. Food always fresh, pipping hot and delicious. The best butter chicken ever!!!

Excellent take away..on occasion food can be a little too salty

This is one of Edinburgh's best take aways. The food is fantastic and they are usually very fast. They have a good range of classic curries as well as the chef's specials that are well worth checking out. Good garlic naan and good sized portions. Highly recommended.

A diferencia de algunas consistentemente bueno y llevar india, cada plato gustos distintos y puedes ver los ingredientes frescos utilizados. Es el favorito y bombay aloo hara pollo. Pollo hara es delicioso! Si llama con anticipación, puede recoger desde el restaurante en 15 minutos la mayoría de tiempo. Altamente recomendado!

I use this take away quite regularly for collection and delivery. Premises are clean, service is always is good and delivery is usually fast. Offer some really good meal deals giving value for money and their food never disappoints.

Have tried different Indian takeaways before and I have to say this one is definitely won our heart. Have been going for few years and never been disappointing. I absolutely love their starter Murgh Chatt and hubby is usually taking Madras. The plain naan bread is delicious. Food is very tasty and not greasy like some other takeaways.Portions are also good. Very good value. Give it a try you would love it.

On receiving my Indian meal 40 mins later than they said it would be it was cold...upon calling to complain the person who answered said what do you want me to do about it if we take it back it's a waste of food. Poor service and no attempt to keep customer happy

Best tasting Indian I've had around this area in a long time. Huge portions and full of flavour. Ready super quick and great customer service. A++

The thali is excellent value and will feed you for days. The curries are great but the bread isn't the best but is getting better!

I haven't had that good and tasty Indian meal for ages. I haven't had a curry for ages though but this one quite good. The whole family agreed. I'm sure there's quite a lot of Indian takeaway with quality food but I tasted this one and it didn't deceived any of us. I'm not used to the portion size anymore and we never manage to finish our food.

This excellent takeaway is tucked away quietly near the corner of Easter Road and London Road. The quality is very high, a good selection of regular curries and specials. The naan are generous and moist. Curries are generally quite thick and lush, with appropriate combinations of heat and spice. Service is attentive and polite, and the estimate of time to collect is usually spot on. Value for money is good, the House Thali (for 2) offers great value for money.
