After traveling for miles to reach the restaurant, our anticipation turned to disappointment as we found both the board outside and Google indicating it was open. However, upon arrival, we discovered that the restaurant was closed, leaving us feeling frustrated by the wasted time and questioning the professionalism of the establishment for not being open as advertised

Disgusting curry's, worst I've ever had in my life. Avoiding this place from now on!

Bibi's was great! Lovely food, fantastic service and very reasonable price. We've been back a few times!

I got Samosa chana chat tske way for 5,95 Pounds. Chaat was very tasty and girl at the counter was very friendly.

Disgraceful, food akin to McDonald's rather than authentic Indian pakora. When I complained,they blanked my calls . Do NOT use this takeaway!

This place has re-opened and now has a decent service and menu. The guy behind the counter is helpful and emphasizes on making everything fresh. We had poori, Chana and Halwa, Chole batore n Chicken pakoda and steaming hot tea. Apart from chicken pakora everything was fresh and tasty. Pakoda was dry and the batter layer was thick. The tea was very good and Chana and Halwa were decent. Overall damage was GBP 20. They should work on the aesthetics of their shop and it's really not a fancy place for bigger groups.

This is my go to place for chilli paneer (I would give that 5 stars). However when my friends want a mild/medium vegetarian dish.. there seems to not be one choice! The spice level in every dish they ordered was way too high for them to enjoy. So unfortunately when as a group and wanting an Indian meal we will be going somewhere else that offers mild/medium spice levels of vegetarian main dishes. When I’m only catering for myself, I’ll always stick to the chilli paneer because I love love love spicy food unlike my friends

We spent two days in Edinburgh from France, and went to this restaurant three times for lunch and dinner. The food is delicious, homemade! Kudos to the Chef! Thank you for the warm welcome too, the young man at the reception is very very nice and pleasant! The prices are very very reasonable for the high quality of the food and the welcome. A small restaurant with a small room is a thousand times better than a large restaurant with exorbitant prices. A great discovery during our stay in Edinburgh! Really really very very good!

Food is ok,chickpeas are undercooked or not in good portion and main is not in good serving bowl,please change your bowl for serving chickpeas. Halwa is also not good and hot at time of serving. The most important not satisfied part with tea service. Please improve your all service points. Precooked chicken pakora bites are not too good and kebab was so spicy for kids.

This is my second time here. Reason for it, my first time experience ☺️ 🤣 Best butter chicken alongside Peshawari Naan to “die for” second time ordered the same as 1st time with some extras such as Nutella paratha and it was so good. I highly recommend . They do sit in there’s 3 tables available with a long table at the window with a view to the main road. They do milk shakes too 😱🫣😆

This is an amazing place for lunch/breakfast/dinner or takeaway with a healthy environment and superb service. They have lots of options for veg and non-veg. Should definitely go for it.

#youtubechef, avoid at all Cost. Who put a cucumber in papdi chaat. (£5.95) you charged for this mix of dried papdi. Missing papdi. Missing yogurt Missing green chutney Adding only tamarind chutney with salad it’s not a chaat papdi. How it’s Indian Punjabi or Pakistani food. #complety rubbish

Good addition to Edinburgh's early morning breakfast. Desi breakfast best of luck guys doing a good job. Good place to vist for breakfast lunch and dinner open 9am to 9pm.

Such a delightful desi (pure) food spot in Edinburgh and the ladies cook the most homemade pakistani/Indian food which isn't any less than a mothers cooking at home. I have tried the Parathas and the biryani and both were exceptional. Punjeeri and other traditional accompaniments are available clearly the ladies are very passionate and work hard to make this place. Carry outs and eating in are both an option which is ideal and the owner is very welcoming. Definitely worth a try and I would say that Edinburgh needed something like this from a very long time ago. Worth a try and you can thank me later.

Awesome 🤩 best desi Punjabi food in Edinburgh proper Punjabi nothing beats the quality and if you’re from Punjab it will remind you of your time in Punjab guaranteed. The lady who runs it is very passionate about it and can clearly show her hard work paying off.

I tried Chole bature which was good 😋 paneer chilli wrap was made with tortilla wrap expected wrap made with parata but taste wise both were great.Had samosa which was dripping with so much oil and was charged 6£ for two samosa’s which was expensive.Good custom service but slow. Lot of scope to improve.

Only open limited hours for punjabi style breakfast as a soft opening this week. Halva (sweet made of semolina) and puri were decent, chole (chickpeas) were excellent. It is the kind of heavy breakfast you are meant to eat after toiling in the fields for a few hours. Food is halal.

Very nice takeaway food and very friendly

In general we have always had good experiences with Desi Dera, the food is delicious and abundant, but last night (the 10th time we have ordered!) our rice came with A HUGE KITCHEN HOOK INSIDE OF THE RICE. It literally must have fallen from a wall and was in our rice! The worst part is that it was made of metal and magnet, and we had microwaved it! I'm so happy our microwave didn't explode because of it, but that is incredibly disgusting and dangerous. The fact that someone could pack a tupperware of rice with a massive metal hook inside and not notice lets you know they're not really paying attention to what they're doing or the cleanliness!

I dont order online from here but I go into the takeaway so I dont know how their delivery service is, but delicious food every time and it's really good prices, the chicken zinger burgers are delicious

Recommendation: Never think of havin food from here!! Oily. Not close to punjabi taste. Even after specifying less oil, the oil in food was a little extra than usual. Stuff I ordered: 2 Chana puri, 1 vegetable rice, Salad. Chana puri to an extent was good since the chana sucks up most of oil from puri. Vegetable rice was so so bad with potato not pealed and had a lot of blacks on them, every bite had oil gushing from rice. The rice at the bottom of box was floating in oil. Only 3/4th of the box was consumable.

Brilliant Indian food. Great value for money on the meal deal for two. Highly recommend Desi Dera. Give it a try. You wont be disappointed. ♡

Waited 2 hours, no sign of a delivery. Tried to call but line was apparently busy for around 20 minutes. Gave up after that. Very disappointing.

Food arrived exactly 3 hours after the order was placed (17:35pm on a November Friday). I rang over an hour ago (2 hours after the order was placed) to see what had happened and they said it would be "10 minutes". Slowest delivery I have ever experienced in my life.

We were looking for a quick bite near our Air BnB and grabbed something here. This quickly became our favorite food so far on this trip and the best Indian food I can remember. I know that's a lot and maybe it was just low expectations or something, but even if it were, it is still very good and a great value. We purchased the curry dinner for 2. And it was plenty for us both to get two meals from it. I was compelled to write this because it is worthy of some praise and checking out.

saag paneer and vegetable pakoras are the best I've ever had. Service was fast with sit-ins and the man who cooked and took our order was very nice. Truly delicious.

Not friendly to customers... if you want to sit-in, you have to order meal course mandatorily.. if you order Small snacks or starters, you will be forced to take away even if restaurant has all tabkes free.

Great Food and Service! Thought Id try this takeaway out and purchased a large pizza, lamb curry and mince from these guys today. The quality of the food was really good, there pizza was delicious and they serve in nice big slices!. The lamb curry was top notch as well as the mince, Can't complain. Great service, great food, inexpensive food = happy customer!

I ordered pizza totally burnt . I rung them and told them about that and the guy on the phone answered “that’s how you cook pizza and he cut the call. Ridiculous no quality and really poor customer service

1st time kebabs tasted nice.... 10/10 then wow absolute 360 didn't even get food... I went in hoping to order Large doner and sheesh kebab.... Hi can I have a LG doner plz and NO!!!! He said machine no working even thou the big round kebab meat was on the pole... Anyway I asked what was available he says curry OK can I have lamb rogan josh but can u plz hold Back with the tomatoes NO!!!!!! Its how it is.... Yeah but all u have to do is try to not put in so much NO!!!!!!! Get out you messing with me go away well gobsmacked didn't come close

Sub-standard food and the owner/manager seems to think that it is somehow acceptable to park his Silver Astra - S21 LGN - on the pavement at the corner of Gorgie Road and Wardlaw Place very night, restricting access for wheelchair users and buggies. This selfish behavior speaks volumes about the business. Avoid at all costs.

Horrible briyani. I even don't consider that as briyani. Tasteless, I was so disappointed.

Decent place for a quick meal or takeaway

Food is fairly standard, tasty but not necissarily the best in Edinburgh. Good level of heat in the hotter curries. What is excellent however is how easy it is to order vegetarian options (panner or veg currys on the standard options list), and how very good the customer service is. They were very apologetic about the food being late (even though it had said 70 minutes when i placed the order, so by my reconing you were only talking 5 minutes). Then when the order was slightly wrong (they had forgotten an extra naan) they immediately sent another round (not always the case with edinburgh take aways, which are neither sorry for extreme lateness nor likely to send round the missing items - looking at you Noors). I had also put in a note about the set menu mix pakoras to be only veg, which i wasnt sure they would see (i should have phoned it in if i were worried but there were carnavores in the house), and initially they hadnt seen it but when we phoned up about the naan they must have seen the note and so sent round an extremely large extra portion of veggie pakoras and more sauces (in only about 15 minutes from the original delivery). Probably the best customer service i've ever had from an edinburgh takeaway, and certainly you cant beat the set meal for 2 for value for money (will probably be eating it all week). Also there is a 10% discount if you order straight from their website. Would order again.

Me and my partner both ordered the chicken tikka which was good. I ordered a side of lamb chops and within a couple of hours I had servere food poisoning. This went on for a couple of days as I ordered on Monday and I Still have not recovered (thursday). Very poor service. Could not work or go to uni. Will not be ordering from here again.

Bad taste of foods. Briyani tastes like fried rice. Absolutely not worth the pice.

Great food. Very reasonably priced.

Went 10 min before closing time and ordered good to which they didn't have some in stock and then when i did receive multiple orders in bag it was missing 1 or 2 items. Couldn't remember if I was overcharged or not. But when staff confirms what he's supposedly putting in the bag and actually has not, you can imagine the frustration coming home and discovering one person or two won't be having their dinner tnyt.

Ill give it a star as women serving was really nice but food was shocking orderd a madras with rice told them i was nipping over to scotmid witch is over the road it took me maybe 3-4 mins tops and by time i was back my food was in a bag ready to go couldnt believe it the sauce was disgusting and rice well i wont get into that wouldnt set foot in the place again would advise all to stay clear
