This used to be a fairly bog-standard pub frequented by summer stag parties looking for nose-bag food. One to be avoided. Now a very friendly gastro-pub with nice staff and great service. Super location and dog-friendly. Now attracting families for food rather than stags for drinks. Nice.

Deliveries are always pretty quickly, & the food usually arrives with no errors, no squished stuff, usually still hot, the drivers are always respectful & friendly.

Decided to pop in here from working late in Edinburgh for a simple chicken curry fried rice. The chicken, rice and curry sauce all had barely any taste to it which was the first thing I had noticed, this was followed by the chicken having a very weird soft texture to it which was easier than normal to bite through for chicken, was told this could possibly be due to the way they boil the chicken at first so not thinking much of it I continued eating. Even in my very hungry state I couldn’t manage to finish the food. I then spent the next 4 days in bed, unable to eat or stay stood up longer than 5 minutes without being on the verge of passing out or vomiting. I am just now feeling slightly better after 4 days of constant diarrhoea and vomiting. I have been unable to go to work the past 2 days and will no doubt have to take tomorrow off as well as I still don’t think I’ll be fit enough to carry out physical labour. Can’t fault the service at all as we received our food relatively quick and the server was polite and helpful. Unsure if this was just a dodgy batch of chicken but after doing some research, all my symptoms line up perfectly with salmonella food poisoning. Eat at your own risk
Wrong order for the 3rd time absolutely rude as anything couldn’t of wanted out of the place fast enough , absolutely joke and to the lady who served me you really need to learn what manners are absolutely joke of Place !!!!!!
We stopped here for lunch on a day's walking. The halloumi flatbreads which we had toasted, were delicious with lots of fresh salad inside. Coffee is good too. It's easy to pass by these little cafes without noticing them but this one was worth a stop.
I've been here a few times since it opened but this was the first time for about a year. The food was very good but for a Saturday night the place was empty: no more than 2 tables being used at a time during the whole time we were there, although it did do a steady trade in carry-outs. Even although it was quiet the service was less than attentive. There were 2 waiters and someone who appeared to be the manager but who seemed to do very little. We were not made to feel welcome. The food was very good, not too spicy hot like I find with some restaurants. It's such a shame about the atmosphere and service and I wonder why it was so quiet.

This was my first time using this Chinese as my local was closed, it was a great first experience , to anyone not sure about changing please, you won’t be disappointed using this Chinese and it will now be my new favourite, food was delicious and very fresh tasting, only small critique is maybe the fried rice needs to be more fried as it seemed like boiled but not complaining was still nice.
I used to frequent Cafe Truva at the shore a number of years ago and was looking forward to visiting their Lady Lawson street branch on a visit to town.
What a disappointment!
The ‘panini spice’ that I used to love was a delicious mix of spiced chicken, mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes served with a lovely Turkish-salad meze. Unfortunately there must be profit margins to protect here and the quality of product has been compromised beyond all recognition...bland strips of processed chicken, one piece of sun dried tomato all cooked without seemingly much care.
The side salad used to be a real treat served with feta cheese, stuffed vine leaves, tzatziki and cous cous, instead you are now served some chopped lettuce, tomato and cucumber with no dressing.....distressing stuff.
I hope they are reading and take these comments into consideration, will not return in a hurry which is a crying shame.

I have used this restaurant many times over the years through different ownership. Dined in with my son and was not overly excited. First warning sign - place was empty at 7.00pm. Second warning sign - on opening the menu the dreaded white strip of paper over the prices with new (inflated) hand written prices. Final bill was just over £63.00 for two starters, two mains, 1 rice, 2 naan and 3 soft drinks!! At £4.50 each, rice and naan totalled £13.50!
My son chose the mixed grill and at a cost of in excess of £16.00 there was high expectation. Very disappointed as everything seemed to be overcooked. Will not be rushing back.

Probably the worst Chinese food I have had in a long time. Not sure what beef is used in the curry but it was almost powder like texture, three random half mushrooms and tonnes of onions. Very poor. The duck was not shredded duck as advertised and portion size was small for the price. The munchy box came in a tray and is very small compared to other take aways.
Would not use again.
Steht nirgends.
Also am Tresen bestellt. Es dauerte 50 Minuten für "fast food". Alles etwas klebrig, keiner hat gefragt, ob man noch etwas trinken möchte. Fish u Chips waren naja, Burger war ok. Insgesamt so gar nicht unser Ding.
