HOPE THE OWNERS SEE THIS!! So this is the best Chinese takeaway but there's a catch they only open when they want to so it's so frustrating 😞 on busy days like Friday/Sunday and I wait for hours hoping that they open . And there's no way contacting your phone number just rings out So the food here is amazing but just wish they update there open times at least please Thank you

A typical takeaway. If you like Chinese fast food, you will be happy here! The portions are large and taste good. The prices are reasonable and the service is very friendly. There are a few chairs where you can wait, but I wouldn't eat in the restaurant - it's just a takeaway!

Their food is really no good. We ended up throwing away most of them, total waste of money.

Sushi is 10/10 and so fresh! Delivery time was under an hour. Will definitely order again! 😍

My family had the diarrhea and stomachache and vomits. Seems quite similar to food poison. CANT BELIEVE YOU LIE ON THE WEB SAID YOU HAD PASS THE HYGIENIC CHECK BUT TRUTH IS YOU NEVER EVER PASS IT FOR AGES. Still doing business. Shame on you. Im going to sue this shop...and din not order until they pass.

Forgot half our order and what did turn up was poorly fried and really little meat, just loads of onion.

I’ve been ordering from HUI for years. The reason because food is excellent so is the service. They go an extra mile to make sure the customer is satisfied. The portions are good size and ingredients are fresh and tasty. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Cannot recommend this place enough! I no longer live in Edinburgh but still make an effort to get my food from them to take home because they are worth it!

Cracking food at a very good price. We also massively over ordered, as it was our first time, and sometimes the portions can be tiny! Not here! Generous sushi, loads of chips and other tasty treats in the "munch box" (not too salty either!) and plenty of the various other dishes. Sorted for lunch tomorrow, and another dinner!

This woman is very rude and extremely unpleasant, complained about having to give me two bags to carry my food, and gave me only one at the end anyway. Their cheap food container is toxic as they melt with heat from the food!

Used to order here regularly, but has very much went downhill latley. Second dissapointing meal in a row, Curry tonight tasted off...I've had spicy and sweet currys, but never had a tangy curry....partner also said thier food was quite bad compared to previous times. Used to order the sushi here but If the curry is tasting dodgy I certainly don't fancy my chances with thier raw fish in future. Shame as used to be awesome, but they've clearly made food quality cuts.

Once again Hui don't fail to deliver! Food arrived very quickly, piping hot and delicious as always...salt n pepper chips had soo much garlic 😍 We ordered very late at night but not an issue.

Great service from the lady at the counter! Food was ok but it was still an excellent quality for price. Really convenient if you want a quick takeaway, but I recommend ordering in advance if possible to avoid long waits.

This is the best 👌 take away in Edinburgh. I unfortunate live far it they always deliver and its hot. The quality of meat, fish, vegetables and sauces are incredible. I cannot fault this place. I have a refined pallette, so when HUI is closed. I become stressed and can't find another Chinese restaurant of this quality. The stars 🌟 should be 5..... HUI PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE SHUT OR ON HOLIDAY. FANTASTIC

My boyfriend and I both love sushi and a friend recommended Hui. It was Valentines day and I know they were busy. Our order didn't arrive as planned but the lady on the phone was supper helpful and resolved it immediately. We got amazing, delicious and freshly made sushi and both were very happy. Great customer service too. Will order again.

Disgusting, rude woman who won't bother resolving issues.... Update, it is definitely your shop... easy to not take ownership and pass on the blame. Funny how every negative review "oh its another shop... we all know its you, the one at Roseburn Terrace.

Ordered at half 6 tonight, cancelled the order 2 and a half hours later after a no show. Unable to contact restaurant. Following incorrect response from the owner. I did check the correct resturant I was reviewing. It was this resturant even 2 years ago as I was staying near roseburn. After many calls that night at least after 2 years I got a response 😂😂

Over priced basic food, tasted like water and an oxo cube, avoid. In response to the reply below from the resteraunt, this was definitely the resteraunt I ordered from, I know which one I ordered from, your food was basic and poor quality, trying to worm out of a bad review by just saying I got the wrong resteraunt with no explanation on how u came to this conclusion is pathetic. You make basic food, please do not blame and patronise your customers when they rate it badly.

Must surely be a blip in the normally excellent standard. WTH- old and horrid tasting avocado maki. Tasted like it was made at least last week - yuck! The rubberist ever king prawns in the maki too. Only thing edible were the har kow as they have to be freshly steamed. Gonna give this place a miss for a few months. 2/10.

Avoid this place. Duck with orange was terrible, rice was dry and this is what they class as a veg spring roll. Not one of them had any fillings in them and when i took it back i was told by the rude lady serving that this is how the whole of Edinburgh make them! Never seen that before TBH, pastry is all i could taste. And as i was walking out i was told never to come back again! Like i would....What a lovely person, Im assuming one of the owners! You might want to learn some manners and customer service. Maybe try apologising and just offer me some alternative instead. Word of mouth goes a long way in the food industry. Would have been a quick and easy fix but now you have a bad review because of it! Great job. Keep up the good work :D

The worst customer service we have ever received!! We ordered a takeaway and when it came, the food was either not what we ordered or tasted completely different to what it should. We then called the restaurant to ask them to pick the food up or to give us compensation and the woman at the desk was the most RUDE and VILE person ever. She was shouting at us down the phone and starting an argument all because we wanted to give feedback on the food. She couldn’t talk calmly nor listen to what we had to say without shouting and swearing so needless to say we didn’t eat the food or have a refund for it. £30 wasted!

I work once or twice a week in Roseburn and Hui was my favourite place to go for lunch at least once a week. I am devastated now that they no longer open over lunchtime. Where do I go now, other than roll shops?

I am staying at an air bnb and put the corrrct address, but mistakingly the wrong postcode. I am not ablw to collect, the order coat over £50 and the restaurant is refusing to deliver but has still taken.my money! The owner was rude when i called to discuss :( I have just wasted over £50 and cannot afford to get my family dinner elsewhere now!

Favourite Chinese take away at the moment

I've found my new Chinese takeaway, Maybe I was lucky but everything as close to perfect as I could hope for, Called, nice lady on the phone.. Crispy beef, Breast of chicken curry, fried rice.. all very nice, with a bonus of prawn crackers.. thank you.. Delivery, very fast although I don't stay to far away, delivery driver very polite (Thank you, hopefully he will see this) On today's food & delivery I will be ordering again, I'll try something else & will update this review.. But I would say, worth going for,

Simply the best food in Edinburgh. Amazing staff - super friendly and always happy to chat :). As we are vegetarian and cannot eat sesame - they always accept our requests and personalise our meals <3. HOME MADE TOFU IS GLORIOUS! Highest recommendations!!! (5 stars is not enough)

The worst costumee service ever you can faced. It was not the first time when was ordering from them but this time was absolutely discusting experience. Had food poisoning from Ramen .when called to make a complain and us for refund . The lady on the phone was laughed on me on the phone .Made evrything to make me guilty tryid to make me as liar. Apsolutly disgusting attitude towards peopele how are paying them for service. Will sugest to avoid .

First time I order, and I feel very disappointed the quality is so poor.. And the price you pay is not the value you specting.. Never again..

The first time I had a look at this restaurant to order online, I was taken down by the reviews, after a while I decided to give it a chance so I could judge by myself. WOW! I absolutely love this place, they are very nice, very quick and the food is actually really good. I'm in love with their salt and pepper king prawns, absolutely FANTASTIC 💕 will be definitely ordering again and I've become a loyal customer from now on

Terrible, rude customer service!

We’ve ordered here 2 times. 2nd time the chips were under cooked and we were offered a replacement. 1 hour later we called as they hadn’t arrived. A woman ended up shouting down the phone saying she could show us CCTV footage of the kitchen cooking the chips. She didn’t seem to understand that a refund was agreed an hour hence. Apparently they can’t provide crispy chips unless you eat in, as we’ve ordered these before and had no issue this didn’t make sense. Had to specifically ask her for an apology. Still waiting for the agreed refund...

One of my personal favorites in Edinburgh. Great food, great service, reasonable price, allows us to order outside of regular delivery area and adds free snacks. What can be better? Definitely worth a try.

This place is the best take away I've ordered in Edinburgh. I've had both the Chinese and the Japanese food and honestly, everything we have had has just been amazing. Timing is always prompt and the delivery drivers are so kind and friendly.

Sometimes it’s the small things that set the standard.......hands down the best chilli salty chips I have had anywhere! The rest was very good too.
