We stopped here for lunch on a day's walking. The halloumi flatbreads which we had toasted, were delicious with lots of fresh salad inside. Coffee is good too. It's easy to pass by these little cafes without noticing them but this one was worth a stop.

Such a hidden gem in the middle of Stockbridge. Fresh sandwiches and flatbreads prepared daily in their main deli in Henderson Row (just around the corner). They use Williams and Johnson beans, which are roasted locally in leith. Tunes are great and staff is super helpful. #supportlocal

Given the transient nature of eating establishments I cannot see Cafe 33 being a mainstay of Stockbridge. There are loads of cozy, homely places to eat in this part of town and Cafe 33 sure ain't one of them. I only went in here because my cousin was being problematic and I wanted to sit down for a minute. When I got in the first thing that struck me was the absolute, stone-cold S-I-L-E-N-C-E which was utterly deafening. There was one other customer - a middle-aged woman who just sat alone at a table and stared dead-ahead without blinking. It was so uncomfortable. I ordered a hot chocolate but was served a cold/lukewarm chocolate that was gone in three gulps. Bargain for £4. The indifferent woman serving, who had no warmth or cheer to her at all, seemed to be quite busy making an aggravating racket loading and unloading the dishwasher. Here's a priceless tip - keep that sort of thing behind the scenes. Customers don't want to be disturbed with that noise. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Stockbridge is spoiled for choice when it comes to cafes. No. 33 is easy to pass by - it does not look like much from the outside. However, they do know their coffee, have delicious cakes, and a nice selection of flatbread sandwiches. The mood is friendly and non-hipster in a good way.

Coffee is actually not too bad, but this place feels grubby, sticky and dirty. Been in two or three times but I've given up now. The floor is always covered in crumbs, tables inadequately wiped, staff stand around talking....there's plenty more coffee places in Stockbridge. And they don't seem to do the Pastel del Nata anymore.

I'm lucky enough to live near Stockbridge where there are a number of nice places for a coffee and something yum, so when I saw that this place had popped up, I had to try it.I've been a few times now, and there are a couple of things that stand out.On the upside, the staff are really friendly, the coffee is lovely, the cakes and tarts are freshly baked interesting delights (a few different brownies, home made carrot cake, honey cake, friands, maple & pecan cake) and they have ever changing delicious filled wraps/focaccias/croissants (e.g. goats cheese & roasted veg, grilled halloumi & spiced chickpeas, falafel & peppers).I haven't awarded them 5 stars for a couple of reasons; the toilet is TINY and can be out of order, there is no way a wheelchair or buggy could even get near it, and even after a not-so-hot summer, it can get VERY hot in here (which night end up being a plus point in the winter?!).I will be back; they have really good Portuguese custard tarts and I do think that it has probably the best coffee in Stockbridge. It's a little know statistic that there are 17 coffee shops in Edinburgh for every inhabitant of that city and its a miracle that those inhabitants aren't all caffeinated to the verge of violence. Amongst the great number of coffee joints there are a few stellar ones where coffee snobs and hipsters tank up. Everyone knows of Artisan Roast, Lovecrumbs and Brew Lab but there's another that's a little outside the city centre and almost as good - No. 33 in Stockbridge. The staff are friendly which always helps and the place is noticeably clean, the food is tasty, but beyond that everything else is wrong, but I still like it. They offer a few different types of prepared croissants and a number of different cakes along with some soup. All of these are good and I believe are fresh that day. There is no kitchen onsite so you'll not be able to order any variations. They have the usual range of coffees and a small selection of alternatives. The place is small so you may end up sharing a table but they are ok with you sitting a while and taking your time. The place is very narrow so I doubt there is sufficient room if you use a wheelchair, or it'll be tight if you do. Steht nirgends. Also am Tresen bestellt. Es dauerte 50 Minuten für "fast food". Alles etwas klebrig, keiner hat gefragt, ob man noch etwas trinken möchte. Fish u Chips waren naja, Burger war ok. Insgesamt so gar nicht unser Ding.

Popped in for a coffee with my wife. The service and atmosphere was amazing. The two girls serving were a delight and their names are Julia and Stella. Plus the coffee was excellent.

Had a lovely meal, very relaxed atmosphere and the team were friendly. The food was lovely and well presented. Would visit again when in Edinburgh.
