Taylor Walker in Edinburgh, City of

Gibt sich als Restaurant. Wir saßen draußen mit anderen Gästen. Der Tisch klebte stellenweise noch etwas. Das hätte uns zu denken geben müssen. Nachdem sich nach 10 Minuten niemand vom Service blicken ließ, ging ich rein an die Theke. Ja, bestellen kann man hier oder online vom Tisch aus mit QR-code. Steht nirgends. Also am Tresen bestellt. Es dauerte 50 Minuten für "fast food". Alles etwas klebrig, keiner hat gefragt, ob man noch etwas trinken möchte. Fish u Chips waren naja, Burger war ok. Insgesamt so gar nicht unser Ding.

After heading into town on our first evening we came across this pub. Good selection of drinks and the menu had plenty of options. There was a comedy gig going on up stairs, and we couldn't hear it so that's always good. The food came quick enough and was really good! Nice atmosphere, TV with sports on but it didn't make the place heaving with sports fans. Good for a bite to eat and some drinks

El sitio no está mal, lo bueno que tiene es la ubicación, porque el servicio se podría decir que es inexistente, pides en la barra, pagas, y cuando está el pedido con suerte te lo llevan a la mesa, si estás atento mejor recogerlo tú. Pedimos fish and chips, plato muy completo, buen pescado y acompañado de cebollitas en vinagre, salsa tártara. No merece la pena

Cuando me fui con mis padres, me encantó el conocimiento y el interés del personal del bar. Estaban dispuestos a responder a nuestras preguntas y Jimmy fue capaz de dar recomendaciones realmente bueno. Su favorito de mi madre no hablando. :) era claro a la hora de la cena y del partido a partir de que todo el mundo estaba ocupado, pero todavía mantienen un ambiente realmente agradable y divertido. La comida era buena. Nos dieron pescado y patatas fritas y me encantó! Fue una gran porción y lo mantenga todo el día. La única dificultad que tuve fue intentar encontrar el nombre de la barra para dejar un comentario. El único lugar que podría encontrar que sólo era en un sitio pequeño. Todos juntos super contentos con nuestra degustación de whisky y de nuestra panza!

Mia moglie ha preso le lasagne ed erano pessime come era lecito aspettarsi. Io però ho preso un banalissimo hamburger, che in teoria avrebbe dovuto essere fatto semplicemente con il manzo. In realtà la percentuale di pane non faceva sentire il sapore della carne. Senza dubbio il peggior hamburger che abbia mangiato in scozia. Hanno anche sbagliato il conto, ma appena l'ho fatto notare lo hanno corretto immediatamente senza storie. Poco costoso, ma decisamente di bassa qualità.

Posto accogliente il titolare molto carino e si mangia veramente bene fish &chip very good. Birra ottima😉

This is one of the oldest pubs in Scotland, and right by the Theater and near the Castle. Sounds silly, but we had probably the best Mac and Cheese at Taylor Walker, moist, with a distinctive slightly tangy cheese taste; and you have to try their Lamb over Sweet Potato, although Lamb was a bit crusty around the edges. They have a limited wine list but we tried the Pinot Grigio and it was good. Also their Cod Goujon sandwich. They excel in local beer and ale so try their Hop House Ale.

Típico pub inglés muy similar a la cadena Wetherspoon.El servicio es inexistente,algo muy normal en los pubs de Gran Bretaña. Pides en el mostrador,pagas y te llevan la comida a la mesa. En nuestro caso fueron un poco más atentos,hasta la camarera se acercó a nuestra mesa a preguntarnos qué tal todo.Los precios son un poco elevados, para darse un capricho.Pedimos la New York Burger y Fish and Chips. La hamburguesa bastante buena, y el pescado muy completo,con patatas,guisantes,cebollitas en vinagre,pan y mantequilla y dos salsas(tártara y curry).El local acogedor.Fish and chips+hamburguesa +dos bebidas 30£

Abbiamo cenato al primo piano di questo bel locale che si affaccia su Grassmarket. Ordinato l'Ultimate Fish & Chips (buono) e il Burger Wagyu (ricco e gustoso). Ottima la posizione per fare dopo cena una bela passeggiata sul Royal Mile e nella old town.

Pub davvero molto bello, situato vicino alla stazione centrale. Cibo e birra buoni, servizio gentile anche se un pò confusionario.

Longue attente pour manger. Burger au poulet : sec. Frites : froides. Sans saveur. Buvez un verre mais n y mangez pas il y a bien mieux. L accueil mériterait d etre un peu plus chaleureux.

Pedimos un fish and cheaps a compartir y una hamburguesa y les costo 50 minutos en servirlo, casi nos vamos. Es un detalle que le resta muchos puntos. Lo demas, bien. La hamburguesa era bastante sencilla y el fish and cheaps rico. Lo mejor un ambiente tranquilo y sosegado, bien ambientado y una seleccion de cervezas muy buena

Carte fournie proposant burgers, fish & ships variés, agneau un peu sec quand même. Plats copieux pour un prix correct pour Edinburgh. L'accueil est très charmant, et rapide alors que l'endroit est bondé. A savoir qu'il existe au moins deux adresses différentes pour ce pub (que nous avons testées toutes deux) mais la carte est exactement la même. L'ambiance est très très conviviale, le choix de whiskies, de bières et de cidre est remarquable. Parfait dans sa catégorie.

We went here without much thought and it proved great. The woman behind the bar was really helpful and we enjoyed the food. On this Scotland-trip I really learned enjoying Chicken tikka curry: hmm! The cookie cheesecake I had was a bit too sweet for my taste.

Ottimo PUB dove poter mangiare un hamburger con carne di qualità nettamente superiore ad un qualsiasi fast-food. Buono il beef pie ma se capitate di domenica speciali sono i piatti di beef o pork.

If you want to experience good beer, fish/chips and pies, this is the place to go. Amazing and friendly service from "Coral" topped the visit! Try the shanks and potatoes, they're the best!

Beer is good but what they do not tell you is kitchen is very small and it takes a long time to get food. We ordered soup and it took over 40 minutes and that was with us pushing the last. Food ok. People pleasant . Just stop in for a beer.

We stopped here for a light lunch. Had the cod goujons, Mac and cheese and cheese bacon toastie. All were tasty. Great beer selection as well.

We stumbled across this pub whilst trying to find a certain venue in the town centre. It seemed a pretty vibrant pub and had a decent atmosphere. There were a number of people dining and the food being served looked very nice. We only stopped long enough to have a couple of drinks. There was a great choice of bitters, ales and lagers. The bar staff were very friendly, and welcoming.

I was looking foe a place with good bangers and mash on my walk back to my Quarter Mile hotel and I found none. have bangers and mash fallen by the wayside in favor of fish and chips and haggis?? I ordered the fish and chips, around 10 pounds, which isn't bad in this area. They were very good. the fish had their own batter, but with most fish and chips, the batter was very greasy. It came also with fresh garden peas which tasted like they were fresh picked. The chips were average. Service was just ok. I should have looked at the special of the day before ordering. they had a fish pie for 5.95 pounds that I would have liked to try.

Visited for dinner. Service was really spotty. Had a great IPA cask beer. Fish and chips was generous and very tasty. Wife had chicken sandwich also really nice. Overall food was fine and beer was good prices a little high reflective of the tourist area. The reason for a three rating they just seemed to be overwhelmed. We watched assorted service mistakes while we were there. Overall fine but lots of better options in Edinburgh.

Macaroni was amazing! Burger was delicious! Fish and chips were average. Great beer selection and the staff was great!

Popped in for a quick bite mid afternoon and had the best steak and ale pie! Rich sauce with plenty of beef. Really good pastry crust. Also tasted the chicken and mushroom pie...not as flavorful. Had a nice chat with the server since the place was not crowded.

Nous nous y sommes arrêtées pour y prendre une pinte de Guiness, pub plutôt sympathique et plutôt tranquille, la décoration un peu kitch mais nous avons quand même apprécié.

We stopped here for lunch and were seated straight away. There was an array of cask beers on tap along with many bottled varieties. This is a chain, but its actually quite good. We ordered pot pie, lamb shank, fish & chips. All were served piping hot and the quality was very good. I recommend this place for a quick lunch. Well done for a chain!

Bellissimo pub in pieno centro città, tanti tipi di birra e ricco menù. Provato per la prima volta la jacket potato e fagioli. Il tutto annaffiato da una ottima birra chiara. Locale molto ampio e pulito. La ragazza al bancone è stata molto gentile e paziente nel comprendere il mio inglese maccheronico!

My boyfriend and I visited this bar today - the 19th March 2016. It was our first time in Edinburgh and we had just completed the tour of the castle! We were really hungry and tired! We needed to find a bar that we could eat in but also watch the rugby match! We found Taylor Walker and instantly loved the buzz! Quickly we realised the bar was very busy and we would struggle to find a seat downstairs in all the 'craic'. So we asked for a table upstairs in the bar where they also had a tv! The waitress - her name wasn't given but she had blue in the end of her hair- was so attentive and did everything she could to help. I am Coeliac and she knew exactly what I could and couldn't have! The food was superb and amazing value! If that wasn't enough I told the waitress mentioned above that it was my boyfriends 21st birthday and she went out of her way to make it special! Being students we were surprised to learn we also got 20% off the meal! I couldn't recommend this highly enough! If we are ever back in Edinburgh we will 100% be back!

The food was great but to get 5 stars it should be cheaper. But definitely recommendable. PS. I had the platter to taste different stuff and tasted magnificent. :)

A great little pub with good beers and pub food. The Taylor Walker pub was buzzing and full of interesting people. Right on the Grassmarket and well worth a visit

Roaming around town and decided to give this place a try. Great pub atmosphere! Tried the pastrami burger and it was very tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed a nice meal with very friendly service. The chicken and chorizo pie was excellent and quite filling. The fish and chips was also very generous. Highly recommend this location.

Wish we'd gone to weatherspoons or even a coffee shopVery basic food, undressed and very small portions. What more can i say? Will not be back

Difficile de rentrer dans d'autres pub avec des enfants le soir! Donc fini dans celui là! Mais les garçons ont été ravis... Burger... Madame à testée la "Spicy soup", très bonne et moi le Taylor Walker Hunters Chiken 1730, très bien. Cela reste une chaîne sans surprise.

Wandering the streets of Edinburgh, I was looking for the first pub I could find that looked authentic enough to provide decent pub grub. Taylor Walker delivered. Not sure if it is a chain or not... as it didnt lack in attention to detail... but the food was really good!

Les plats sont bons mais sans plus. Le cadre est chaleureux et typique mais le personnel n'est pas aimable du tout. Personne ne s'est occupé de nous pendant plusieurs minutes et, en tant qu'étranger, nous nous sentions vraiment méprisés. À tester pour l'ambiance mais pas pour la nourriture.

estoy escribiendo en este momento desde el mismo pub. está localizado muy céntrico. es precioso. estamos a 8 de noviembre y tienen decoración navideña muy bonita. ahora bien, el servicio es pésimo. nos han servido 2 tes y tres capuchinos super helados y sin cucharitas para mover el azúcar. les pedimos las cucharas y nos dicen, lo siento, estan todas sucias.... al final nos traen una para que la compartamos todo el grupo. en fin, ya no tengo más que decir. ahora estoy aquí esperando a que me traigan la cuenta

My dinner here was excellent. It was the first time I had ever had steak and ale pie and I definitely was not disappointed. Fantastic food.

Stumbled into this very busy restaurant. We had steak and ale 1730 pie ...slow cooked beef with a rich ale gravy in a a crisp pastry with Cleveland brown IPA. It's dam good.

Malgré le prix d'excellence de TripAdvisor, on a connu mieux. Trop peux de Cod dans le Cod chips. The ultimate n'a pas plus d'intérêt. En revanche la décoration est superbe, le service agréable et rapide. Pour y déguster une beer, n'hésite pas.

Ужинала с племянницей. Старинное помещение, центр Эдинбурга. Национальная кухня. Официантка летала как ласточка! Запомнился этот паб не меньше, чем достопримечательности города!

We were there during the 2015 Fringe. We wanted to see a show in the area, so we tried to get into a pub for a quick dinner. We were able to shoulder our way in. Needless to say it was a zoo. I did work myself up to the bar and ordered some ale, which was OK but not great. I then discovered that I had to shove my way to the bar again for food. When the food came it was cold.(mine was still partly frozen). Another trip to the bar to get them to cook our dinners, which turned out to be not great. There are a lot of much better pubs in Edinburgh.

Pas de services aux tables, un menu avec beaucoup de friture: je ne m'attendais pas à grand chose de ce resto. Au final, j'ai été agréablement surprise, ma "pie" et ses accompagnements étaient bien meilleurs que ce à quoi je m'attendais. Pas mal!

Ho mangiato qui ormai due volte. Cibo buono e atmosfera accogliente. Consiglio la pie di manzo. Devi ordinare al bancone indicando il numero del tavolo e poi ti portano il cibo

Vegetarische Fish and Chips, die Burger oder Pies sind sehr, sehr gut. Unscheinbar aber selbst mittags voll. Bar-Atmosphäre mit guter Musik in stimmigem Ambiente. Nettes Personal, das auch einen Spaß versteht.

Visitamos Edimburgo, hicimos la visita de hop on hop off y para almorzar bajamos en Grassmarkt. Había varias opciones para elegir pero optamos por Taylor Walker y no nos arrepentimos. Lugar muy agradable, comida muy buena, el servicio rápido y eficiente, los pies, imperdibles. Relación precio -calidad muy conveniente.

Stumbled into this place by accident - being too lazy to walk any further.I enjoyed the steak and ale pie. My colleague had the lamb and sweet potatoe pie which was equally delicious. There's a nice selection of beers and ciders.I tried a ginger beer (with alcohol, not the fizzy drink) and was pleasantly surprised :)Highly recommended!

Big food, very good food, full to the point of can't be bothered to move. Had lamb n sweet potato pie very tasty. The ultimate fish n chips is a challenge but really nice.

É um pub inglês com ótimo ambiente. Frequentado tanto por homens como por mulheres. Você pega uma mesa e pede direto no bar. Possuem umas opções de cervejas da região muito interessantes. Pratos tipo hambúrgueres e fish & chips, na faixa de 12 libras. Também têm TVs passando rugby direto. Recomendo!

Pub nella media con hamburger e piatti tipici scozzesi buoni ma non eccezionali. Il servizio un po' lento. Il locale è situato nella parallela di Princes Street per cui in pieno centro. Da rivedere.

Sono stata in questo pub a pranzo con le mie amiche e abbiamo mangiato veramente bene: fish and chips ottimo, ottimo anche il chicken burger e il taylor walker. L'unica pecca era la cameriera un po' scortese.

The Bee Hive, is a great spot for lunch, had the chicken chorizo burger friend had Pastrami burger other friend had sandwiches, all seemed fresh and well presented, reasonable price, although I thought the drinks where a wee bit overprice, but this is a popular part of town, lunch for 4 was £50.00 Food ,drinks £48.00 included bottle wine and 6 alcoholic drinks so not bad. I would return. Staff are very friendly and pretty efficient it was busy when we arrived but where dealt with quickly.

Pub típico, com um Fish & Fries muito bom em ambiente agradável. Cerveja de ótima qualidade, mesmo no frio vale a pena experimentar, quanto ao atendimento... é atendimento de Pub, pede no balcão. paga e depois levam à mesa, quer mais? Volta ao balcão e pede lá.

Local muy agradable para una pinta después de pasear por Edimburgh.Además de la pinta siempre puedes tomar algo para comer hasta tarde.El pastel de carne estaba delicioso, nosotros probamos el de ternera guisada con cerveza y nos encantó.
