Super Wok Chinese in Edinburgh, City of

Probably the worst Chinese food I have had in a long time. Not sure what beef is used in the curry but it was almost powder like texture, three random half mushrooms and tonnes of onions. Very poor. The duck was not shredded duck as advertised and portion size was small for the price. The munchy box came in a tray and is very small compared to other take aways. Would not use again.

Brilliant Chinese, this will be my regular for the foreseeable. Would have been 5 but the salt and chilli chips were pretty dry and under seasoned and it was pretty expensive. Definitely recommend the starter box for 2 everything in that was absolutely delicious and super fresh, best prawn toast I’ve ever had.

Nice food. I tried the sweet and sour King prawn Cantonese style. It had added pineapple pieces, carrots , peppers, and onions through it, and the sauce wasn't too sweet. It was perfect 👌. The prawns were nice and tender. I also had the three in one rice, chips, and curry sauce. The curry sauce is really lovely. Definitely will be back. 👍 😊

Food came quickly and was hot but was greasy

Thus take away gets better each time we use it. Saturdays spring rolls were a worthwhile extravagance, best I've ever tasted.

Ordered a takeaway from super wok on juniper green last night as the usual takeaway was closed. Ordered a beef curry, noodles & salt & pepper chips. Food was bland & tasteless, no curry flavour in the main dish, the chips were hardly cooked & had slices of onion added. I live locally to this takeaway but will not be ordering again

Used for decades ( the Swallow) and one of the best... Until original family sold up to another that runs other takeaways locally and food now as bad as they are.. Bog standard at best... .. Shame , as said before used to be really good. Used again recently and tofu horrible.... Liked it had been fried long time ago and heated up. No way deserves 4 or 5 stars

Great Chinese, especially for its salt and spice selection

Food order taken quickly delivered within the hour. Food quality appalling. Lukewarm and medicore. I threw the chicken chow mein in the bin it was that awful. Won't be back and I don't recommend either. The guy who delivered was pleasant. The lady owner rang to make amends sent across a very hot tasty chicken chow mein meal replacement. Thank you. I change my star rating.

Had chicken volcano ! last night, absolutely the tastiest delivery I've had in a long time, the lady on the phone was most helpful, the driver was really polite and pleasant, 10/10.

I rarely give 5 star reviews but I simply couldn't give Super Wok any less. I've shared a few meals from here with my dad and no matter how full we feel after scoffing the generous portions, we're already planning what to try next time and how soon that should be! Everything is beautifully cooked and full of flavour and it's so consistently good. Lovely staff too!

Amazing restaurant, always accommodates even the pickiest (like me).. always fast delivery and hot food, took me 15years to find a good Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh, this will be our family's favorite for many years to come.

This place used to serve disgusting food the dishes where not up to standards food was horrible with leaving a bad taste... but omg since the new couple have taken over the place they're food is absolutely delicious fresh clean and made with love lol 👌

What a difference the lovely new owner has made! Not only is the food superb now, it’s a pleasure to go into the shop. I didn’t catch her name but she’s so friendly and polite, massive difference to the previous owner andI hope she gets lots of local support. Great food!

Had a meal tonight , new owner , food was lovely , tom yum soup superb and tasty ,salt and chilli chips , beef and tomato tasty , volcano chicken tasty , and fried rice , definitely recommend , will be back

Just had a delivery and the food was absolutely delicious! My daughter had Korean Chicken and I had Thai Chicken Pattaya, couldn’t fault any of it. Large portions so have some left for lunch tomorrow. Delivery chap was very nice. Will definitely be back!

Just ordered from here today because we heard it had a new owner. Food was delicious, hot and delivery was fast. Highly recommend.

We have been ordering from Super Wok for a while, as always no complaints, loved the food as always, also very pleasant over the phone giving an option if having chew mein dry or with sauce, fabulous keep it up, and the drivers also always quick delivery and also always pleasant xxx

Very bad experience,the Curry sauce has a lot of particles And it tastes weird,Those meat has a sour taste, my friend have complain to food health center,My friend kept this belly after eating, and went to the hospital to check out food poisoning

The Owner was horrible, foods were inedible straight to the bin. Never get refund and they never accept comments.

Ordered a collection and then got a text saying order was cancelled and restaurant would refund. Over a week later still no refund.

Super Wok, more like Below Average Wok. Decided to try this take-away for the first time, since our usual (Ying, Balerno) was closed on a Tuesday. Well, after this we'll just not be having Chinese on a Tuesday in the future. We ordered a munchie box which was supposed to be "spicy and salted", but unlike the salt and chilli flavour we have elsewhere, this was lacking any spice. And with a heavy sense of irony, actually needed to be salted when we got home. A meagre portion of flavourless chicken, was made up by throwing an extra big portion of flavourless chips. Curry sauce was included... this is important later. Since we were somewhere different, we thought we would trying something different on the menu. So we had shredded (supposed to be crispy) chicken with "Thai" sauce but it lacked anything remotely Thai flavoured, resembling more of a watered down sweet chilli sauce. Perhaps there was a chilli shortage we didn't know about that which might explain. Lastly we ordered crispy curry triangles. They were at least triangular shaped to be fair, but certainly were only curry flavoured when dipped in the curry sauce which (if you remember) came from another dish. I gave it two stars only because they were prompt, knocking this up in record time of 15 minutes. However I suspect they only managed to be this quick as they skipped the whole adding flavour part of the preparation. Won't be back. Unless I have no choice... wait, no I won't be back still.

Don't know what's happened here : always had superb food, but telephone guy made me suspect 'different management.' Delivery 20 minutes late (at 6.20 pm), shredded beef tasteless, chicken satay had very little sauce and the rest was bland

Reasonable prices very quick delivery.

Food was ok, sauce was a bit too thin and too heavy on the oil. Delivery was cancelled with no explanation. We called to see why, lady told us it’s too far away for the driver, but we only live 7 minutes from the place so we went to collect which was fine. Would have given a 4 star if it wasn’t for the delivery guy being lazy!

Had a couple takeaway's from here now. Always good food

Very friendly staff, good value and great food

£8.50 single meal deal. Soup / main with rice and a desert. Awesome value. Stuffed afterwards and the food good.

First time using their delivery service. Ordered early and it was delivered promptly. Food was hot and plentiful. After reading previous reviews we chose the crispy chilli chicken in Thai sauce and the shredded beef in chilli and honey sauce. We also had the spicy and salty ribs to start. Cannot fault any of it. It’s been ages since we’ve had a good Chinese takeaway nearby. I’m so happy!!! We’ll definitely order from them again. xx can’t add any photos because we scoffed it immediately 😂

Absolutely fantastic food the Shredded Crispy Chicken Thai Sauce is the best I’ve tasted. How someone gave this take away one star with no explanation is beyond me ?

Best Chinese up 5his way have tried them all and they are disgusting but this is fab always quick delivery and food tastes great!

Never open when I want one! Never let's customers know on social media that they're not open. Usually love this place but getting fed up if bad customer service, not every one drives past everyday to see the signs saying when is shut.
