I think she was the manager,Annie, who was so lovely and helpful, was the best customer service I've had at a dessert place in Edinburgh. Yummy

Absolutely adore this place! Have taken many friends and dates here. The staff is always super friendly, the atmosphere is amazing, and it’s open late! The ice cream is also top notch, so many flavours to choose from that regularly rotate. The prices are amazing for Edinburgh and there’s so much to choose from. The cookie dough is also truly an experience. Cannot recommend highly enough!

After i took my mom to scoopz she said she loves me for the first time!! Caitlyn makes dreams come friggin true. I was depressed from a recent dental surgery and she made me made a kinder surprise waffle and held me while i cried. 10/10 must do in edinburgh. Ps: caitlyn if your reading this my family would like to meet you please join us at the villa in italy this summer you queen❤️

Came here the other day and was incredibly impressed. The bubblegum flavour in particular was just stunning (always a personal favourite but this had to be the best I've ever tasted, easily). Also had chocolate orange which was divine too. I really loved the lack of pretentiousness and the fact they wear the "ice-cream" label with pride, rather than lying about their produce being Italian gelato like far too many places (*cough* Alanda's *cough*). Prices are also cheap and cheerful. Will not only be returning but will be telling all my friends to come here!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed some sweet treats here for a very good price. I had a tub of 4 scoops of different ice cream flavours for £4 and the scoops were HUGE! I had lotus biscoff, vanilla, strawberry and irn bru. There were lots of cool flavours and i was given a spoon and napkin. My partner got hot kinder bueno cookie dough with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream for £6.99 and absolutely loved it. Super yummy food with lots to choose from! You can get packs of sweets, ice cream, waffles, crepes, tango ice blasts, and hot cookie doughs, highly recommend

I visited scoopz for the first time in a while as my kids really like going, however since COVID-19 started we hadn’t been back to the shop. I was horrified upon arrival as not a single person in the que was social distancing nor wearing a face mask!! After repeatedly being told by staff inside to not enter with more than 2 people, unless living in the same household, people still entered in large groups and got sent out, then got argumentative and held up the que due to not being able to understand simple instructions. A lot of swearing and abusive language was exchanged by youngsters which wasn’t handled appropriately by staff as they all seem to be young girls with NO MANAGER in sight?! Never returning, food was okay but not worth the unnecessary emotional stress this place gave me and my kids. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. Would give no stars If I could.

Came here for ice cream coz the place we had dinner wasn't great. There's lots of choice, staff were lovely and they had covid safety measures in place. Our dessertz were delish 😋

I have been a customer of scoopz for over 10 years. Tonight has got to be the worse service ever. I am honestly so angry and so upset because I enjoyed coming to scoopz. After tonight I will no longer be making my services available. The new staff member has no idea on how to handle customer service. There were two ladies in work tonight and one was a blonde girl the other with long ginger hair. The girl with ginger hair was really not bothered in the slightest she took 15 minutes to make one milkshake (no exaggeration). Despite the long queue outside she carried on taking her time. In the space of 30 minutes of me waiting in the queue she lost out on 15 odd customers who decided to walk away due to how slowly the line was going. I waited in the queue for 30 minutes and when it hit 10.30pm the ladies promised they will still serve the customers who had been waiting. When we finally got into the shop the ginger girl said that she was no longer making milkshakes and they had to go home. She did not care that because of how slowly she was working people were waiting so long and despite being so patient only to be told after 30 minutes of waiting that she will not serve us. I am so outraged and never experienced something such bad service in my life. I get the ginger girl was new and this is why we remained patient. However, 10 years in the customer service industry I do not think she should be carried on being employed. She has lost so much business today and lost so many customers in one day only to think how much she is tarnishing your reputation. I came for a milkshake, waited 30 minutes to be told they are closing when they knew we had been waiting. I will no longer be going to scoopz and urge the rest of you to save your time too as it is not worth it. So upsetting.

Came here Tuesday for a milkshake after my lunch and it was delicious! Way too many flavours to choose between and I mean that in the best of ways. Such a nice place with plenty of sweeties and desserts. The girl who served me was very lovely and as it seemed quiet she was happy to listen to me rant about my rubbish morning which definitely cheered me up. Will definitely be back when I can. 5 stars!

We were on the hunt for some nice icecream and this place was the only one that sprung to mind. Hubby had a sundae - it was very rich and could probably have done two people (regular size). I had Oreo cheesecake and icecream. Again quite rich and probably be good as a sharing dessert. I felt like a kid in a candy store (no pun intended!) So many exciting choices and trying to decide on just one was tough. Staff were friendly too and shop was very clean.

Having just eaten at noodles at Red Box just a few doors down we were in search of a quick dessert before our next show at the Fringe Festival. This was perfect - a range of 15-20 ice creams to choose from, ranging for the familiar to the un-usual (e.g. red velvet), in a cone or a carton, with or without sauce or decorations. We both enjoyed our 3 scoop cartons, which were decent quantity for the price given the quality. They also sell sweets of many, many varieties, as well as chocolate. Definitely a good option if you crave ice cream while at Pleasance or Bristo Square.

Came here at the recommendation of a friend for a milkshake and was not disappointed by the myriad of candy bar mix in options. That being said, this isn't a must-see spot and I think there are better spots for ice cream and sweets in Edinburgh - the purple walls are a tad jarring and things could have been kept a bit neater.

We stumbled across this place when looking for somewhere for dessert. Decent range of sweetie inspired flavours - parma Violet, reeses, caramac, twix to name a few. Hubby went for a waffle + I had a bit of fudge cake with icecream. That was us £9 lighter! Icecream was nice, think I'd just get icecream next time. Lots of ye olde sweeties in jars, 2p sweets, 5p sweets etc. Bags of mixed sweets. I'd go back for some sweets + ice cream any day.

We went here on a Saturday night instead of getting a dessert in the restaurant. We both had waffles and Nutella, which were delicious. Loads of warm Nutella with ice cream and whipped cream. We sat in but you still have to order at the counter.

Absulotly smashing song choices , couldn’t believe what I had just heard as 2 I’d my absolute favourite songs came on by 6ix9ine of course , it really cheered me up as I am blind ~ Kaitlyn :) x

Came here tonight for icecream, staff are so friendly. Loved the soundtrack playing. Place really clean. Really reasonable prices and really tasty. Would come again.

Seriously great candy ice cream joint. The 3 steps to heaven are the way to go. Pick a base (cookie dough), pick an ice cream (caramel creme egg) and a topping (rainbow sprinkles) and heaven awaits you. They heat up the cookie dough a bit, add the ice cream and topping. Delish!

Milkshakes are amazing, never disappoint! Always a great selection of new and funky flavours, nachos are also very nice!

I have been here quite a few times now and although the milkshakes and sundaes are great, the rest lets it down. Dark and dirty place with very unfriendly staff who make you feel like a nuisance for wanting to order anything. Shame about this because a little cleaning and better staff would make it amazing

First time, at scoopz, I bought two flavours of ice cream for me and my partner. We both felt unwell after having the ice cream. Thought to give the waffles a go, and they did not taste too good, I have tried much better waffles in Edinburgh. The 3 Staff behind the counter seemed like they had been forced to stand there and could not be bothered serving.

Scoopz has constantly changing flavours and one of my favourites is there Jaffa cake ice cream but you never know when its going to be coming in. This either a very clever ploy to get you coming into the shop or a short sighted one not keeping a constant supply of popular flavours. I suspect there very clever.

I have been here for the first time, as I heard they make good ice cream.

My first visit here was pretty unimpressive as the staff refused to serve customers 40 minutes before the closing time despite there were a handful of people wanting to order some late take-away milkshakes etc. The reason for this was that "they had already cleaned and washed all the stuff". The staff was /very/ young on that evening so maybe this had something to do with this weird response.

We went in as a party of four. We had 3 cones and a shake. All were good. The highlight among us was the Kiwi Melon Ripple Ice Cream. Sooooo good!! I wish I had the option to stop in often just for that treat. Too bad we're 4500 miles away!

They almost have too much selection! It makes it hard to decide. There is a wide variety of mix-ins to add to your ice cream. It is a bit out of the way from the Royal Mile, but it is worth the walk for a true ice cream shop.

Arrived here around 8pm a few weeks ago, the atmosphere was very frosty. 2 girls (blonde and brunette) working looked like they wanted to kill anyone that walked in the door! Felt like we were being rushed out the door. I got the Oreo cheesecake and was offered cream with it, was lovely. My friend got the chocolate fudge sundae which was lovely too. Found the menu on the wall a bit outdated, I understand this was maybe the look they were going for but just think the place could do with a spruce up. Overall lovely food and great choice of ice cream etc, just a shame about the staff.

They use the same scoops in everything, and didn't recommend eating any ice cream if you're allergic. There was so little ice cream remaining in the ones I wanted, so I didn't risk it. They do have store bought gluten free cake (Toblerone I think)

Ordered a waffle and ice cream sundae to eat in. Just as we ordered 6 people also came into the shop. Rather than organise our order the server promptly started serving the others and began to make their orders. After waiting 10 minutes still no sign of our food being made and further customers had entered to join the que. in the end we had to leave to get back for out train. A real shame as the menu looked tasty. They maybe need some more staff for the tea time rush?

So many flavours of ice cream and the shakes are fabulous (pick a chocolate bar and a flavour). Great place for deserts!

So I have been here multiple times and every single time I've been left wanting more. The selection of ice-cream has always been great and the staff are nice. Two of the best things there are the sundaes and crepes but make sure you get it with ice cream. Whether your sitting in or taking away, I highly recommend this place.

Took my son here on Saturday as he loves ice cream and milkshakes. Neither of us were disappointed, he had a scoopzilla milkshake and I had a banana and nutella waffle with ferrero rocher ice cream. Both tasted fantastic and were great value for money given the size of them. I'd also read a couple of reviews criticizing the service but the girl who served us was very patient and helpful. (especially as my son took about 5 minutes to decide what he wanted) 1st visit but definitely not our last.

I read about Scoopz on a couple of different sites, and being the ice cream lover that I am, I made the trek to give it a go. Sad day. It just didn't taste good! There are other spots in the city with fresh, simple ice cream, but like I could have gotten this quality at the grocery. I was disappointed. At least it looked pretty. Oh well, on to the next spot!

Scoopz features ice cream made out of candy (like Kinder eggs or Malteses) and many ways to combine it in the most indulgent way (like with a brownie or a warm cookie). Not the best place to go if you're on a diet... But definitely a happy sweet place!

Great choice of ice cream, in tubs or cones! Shakes from the ordinary to the really inventive, my daughter opted for peanut butter and loved it! Crepes were also spot on!

Only had ice cream. Was not a bad place. Very small though so probably avoid during busy periods. Staff were all nice and polite. Think probably try one of the milkshakes next time as they are main reason for all the hype around this place

I had milkshake and hotdog deal, it is great for its price but it I didn't really feel anything special. Milkshake is good as in standard good, and the hotdogs were big and standard :) It's a goos place to crush by for snacks

Great Little ice cream shop in the centre of Edinburgh that do a great flavour range, especially look out for there Jaffa cake ice cream it is delicious although is not always on, watch there facebook page to see when they have it. They also do shakes and waffles and although I haven't tried them they look mighty nice.

The staff are so so lovely, ice cream is delicious (cookie monster for the win) good hot dog deals and really nice place! Definitely going back again many more times with my loyalty card

My partner and I rushed dinner and drove over to get milkshakes as the listing looked good online. We arrived at 21:15 and waited five minutes while the guys in front were served their milkshakes, the staff seemed rude and abrupt to them. When we got to the front we were told they wouldn't do us milkshakes and frappes, only ice cream as they wanted to close soon and had to clean up. After complaining that the guys in front of us had got milkshakes, we were met with nothing but rude refusal and walked away disappointed and empty handed. If the shop is open until 21:30 then your most popular items should be available until then. Went to mcdonalds and got a mcflurry instead.

I found large amounts of plastic in my milkshake , it was nice but sickening that plastic was in it, not impressed that's unacceptable standard , shame because it tasted amazing bar the plastic wrapping left from the Bueno

We had been told that this little place was worth a visit on a sunny day, so we walked well out of our way to visit it

Visited today and could not believe how dirty this place was and didn't notice how bad it was until I had paid so to late to say anything,needless to say the milkshake had a massive black pubic hair in it so I didn't even drink it neither did the others I was with after seeing it.

I love Scoopz! It is my favourite place for a treat or dessert.

I met up here with a friend who was leaving to London the next day and this little cafe was the perfect place for it. The setting was reminiscent of a 50's style diner which I liked a lot. This place opens until 9.30 pm and although we were there when they were almost closing, the waitresses were nice and did not hurry us or seem anxious to leave. I had the chocolate fudge brownie sundae which was very yummy and had lovely chunks of brownie in it. Overall a great experience here and would recommend for anyone wishing to fulfill their sweet craving.

This is a must visit for adults and children alike! ! Milkshakes, ice cream, sundaes, cakes - it has it all for a sweet treat! Highly recommend 😊

So many choices of what to put in your ice cream or milkshake! Easy to just chill out and have a rest enjoying whatever you choose. Friendly staff- little pricey but worth it after....

I am big fans of milkshake and I have tried so many milkshake in Edinburgh, my friend who lived in Edinburgh for over 15years took me to this place. IT.WAS.AMAZING! The milkshake I love have to be strong taste of milk but not much milk and too watery, so the balance of milk and ice cream is utmost important. Scoopz milkshake not only have excellent taste of milk, the texture is thick enough as they add just the perfect amount of ice cream. The best part is, you can choose different snacks mixed in the milkshake which you never knew they could match so perfectly. ( I chose Ferrero and malteser) if you are a milkshake lover like me it's what you have to try. It shakes each of your taste bud and make your day!

Scoopz has a wide variety of flavours, but their Belgian Chocolate milkshake is simply fantastic. Thick and rich of flavour. Great to find a place in Edinburgh that does such awesome milkshakes!

My friend had introduced me to this place for the first time and I must say the milkshake I had was so tasty!! There was a variety of stuff to choose from it took me about 10 minutes to decide. Worth it in the end though! Would definitely go back.

We walked down to scoops as I seen it somewhere, it was not would I thought once we got there. Not busy or a comfy in there. But saying that I have a banana split and it was lovely. The ice cream was so yummy :) if you walk past its well worth a look inside :)

Been in here a couple of times, progressively gets worse! Unclean would be a suitable word to describe it but also its fairly obvious all their ice cream is run of the mill (albeit varied flavours- however that is NOT comprise for quality). Seems like the employees cannot be bothered as well half the time.

I visited for a first time last Sunday with my daughter and husband. I was intrigued by the great reviews so decided to give it a try. Unfortunately I have to agree with the opinions that the place was filthy! The fridge, counter, tables.. never mention the ipads! I understand that they're being used by kids eating ice cream but that should be also a reason why they're properly cleaned throughout the day.

Been here quite a few times now, always a massive selection to choose from and soo tasty! Unsure how the review below can complain, its a tiny shop and staff will go out of their way to serve you as quick as possible. They serve one person at a time even if theres two of you there, I dont see the issue? My friends and I would ALWAYS choose to go here over Lucas so thats saying something. They have a much wider selection and the options of milkshakes too :) Writing bad reviews for petty reasons causes nothing but loss of business for small businesses like this!

So much variety of different milkshakes - you pick from about 50 different bars of chocolate which is then mixed up to make your shake ... Always tastes delicious. It's made in front of you which is always a bonus. Little tables available to sit down and enjoy milkshake! ... Constantly recommending scoopz to different friends and family members.

A visit to Scoopz was the perfect end to a sunny Edinburgh day. I chose the Irn-Bru ice cream and the blackcurrant sorbet. Portions were very generous compared to the scoop of sorbet that I'd bought at Ciao Roma the day before. Seemed very popular with a constant (short) queue that moved quickly thanks to the 2 ladies behind the counter. Most people were in-and-out, but if you wanted to eat in, there were some diner-style booths with iPads available for use! Would recommend for a sweet treat.

Was a friendly fun place but we went there because of good reviews and the ice cream is actually not good, just average joe ice cream.

This place was such a let down, 4 unusual ice creams the rest standard, shop dirty, 1 poor girl serving and stressed out nothing served at the same time 1 kid finished before the other even got theirs. Had to change my baby on the floor of the 1 dirty toilet. Not a place for a family visit plenty of better options worth the money.

Opens late, loads of flavours, good value, nice vibe and lots of different types of people. Waffles and sundaes and so on. They also make falooda and have halal stuff.

On a wet, windy day shopping in Edinburgh we came across this lovely little coffee shop/ ice cream parlour. It was like a haven from the rain and we popped in to warm up with a couple of coffees. My flat white was one of the best I have ever had and the Irish girl who served us was so welcoming and friendly that although we had only intended to have coffee , we ended up having paninis (which were well filled and delicious) and then had a mixture of several of the wide variety of ice creams they sell. I can particularly recommend the ferrero rocher one!! It was scrummy! So often when going to coffee shops such as Costa or Starbucks , I have felt very awkward or as if I am interrupting the conversation of the barista staff by my coffee request-not so in here! The girl who served us could not have been more helpful and she recommended areas in Edinburgh for us to visit which we were then able to check out on the I-Pads which are for free use of the customers. We will be back!!!

Good selection of ice creams and the Nutella crepes are delicious! The girls working there are very helpful, even when the place was really busy during Edinburgh festival.

Lots of customizable options but it is quite expensive if you want anything other than vanilla ice cream.

I actually LOVE this place. Now.... admittedly they do have a huge selection of ice cream flavours, but my favourite thing isnt the ice cream, its the MILKSHAKES! You can literally get a milkshake made with any sweet chosen from the back of the shop, I mean who knew a Wham Bar! milkshake could be so tasty. If its cold outside you can always skip the ice cream and go for a hot waffle or coffee, and with the free wi-fi and ipads its a great place to warm up and check your emails. The staff have always been really friendly and service has been with a smile, the tables were all kept nice and clean and the tennis was even on the tv so we could catch Andy Murray ;-). Admittedly during the summer it gets busy (its an ice cream shop, ofcaurse) but the treats are worth waiting for. I wish I could give this place 10 stars...........

The ice cream here is really great - imaginatively sourced from some decent suppliers (I once heard a customer interrogating the owner as to where, so I know it's a wide variety!) - the flavours change on an almost daily basis, but I'm a big fan of the kinder egg ice cream! Unfortunately, the place would be better off without the rude, obnoxious woman who works behind the counter! My Lebanese wife ordered chocolate ice cream only to discover that it had hazlenuts in it - this wasn't advertised and, when we raised it with the woman working, she abruptly told us that we should have asked about nut allergies on arrival. Maybe true, but not very good customer service!

This being our second visit, I decided to have a milk shake this time (last visit I had 3 scoops of ice cream and we also managed a sit down in one of the booths before the Fringe show we wanted to see).

I was torn between three and four stars for this friendly ice cream bar - it is not very sophisticated but the ice cream is good. Fairly conventional flavours but a nice place for ice cream lovers!

We went to Scoopz on Trip Advisor recommendation. The cafe is ok, it's well specced with iPads on some tables, TV etc. It's a bit rough around the edges but a decent enough diner style place to hang out in for a quick desert, the service was also very friendly. The range of ice creams were good, the ice cream itself was ok but no more, certainly by no means the best available in Edinburgh.

I first tried 'Scoopz' on the recommendation of a work colleague. I visited on 8/6/13 with my wife and thoroughly enjoyed the wide selection of ice creams on offer. I opted for the 3 scoop tub and chose Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Mint Choc-Chip and Oreo. My personal favourite was the Oreo ice cream as I could taste every bit of Oreo which was delicious. The portions served are of a very good size; 3 big scoops within a decent sized tub.

Was here on Monday 20th May. Decided to get a 2 scoop tub, a good range to choose from. I decided on green tea and mango sorbet. Ice cream rich in flavour and not too creamy. Went down well on a sunny day. Son choose choco mint and belgain choc, he scoffed it so fast i didnt get a chance to try. The 2 scoop tub was £2.50, worth money as you get a giant scoop. Defo worth a visit, and i cant wait till i do.

My daughter and go to Scoopz once a week after nursery, though we would both happily go every day! Best chocolate icecream & not too expensive. AND I get to play with an iPad!

Wow the Ferrero Rocher ice-cream is super! I fatten myself up with one whenever in local to Scoops. Not just a small cone, oh no one of the huge 4 scoop monsters. Just simply the most scrumy ice-cream I have had. You can keep you S. Lucas and the likes. Come here for a real treat.

I've been going to Scoopz with my two teenage sons for a while now. We love trying out different milkshake combinations each time. The shakes are simply delicious! Staff are friendly and the tables have iPads and WiFi. Great place, recommended!

A wide array of ice cream flavours, although none too innovative. Dozens and dozens of possibilities for milkshakes and sundaes. I had blackcurrant sorbet, which was flavoured very true-to-life and tasted wonderful. It was creamier than sorbet is usually, which I liked. My other half had a Malteser milkshake which was smooth and tasty. They also have many sweets, pastries, and hot chocolate and coffee options. The server was a bit surly and seemed to be annoyed that we were taking so long to order, which is strange because they have so many different options, it's not exactly easy to decide. The other server in the restaurant seemed more friendly though and it didn't take away from the tastiness of the treats.

Great ice cream. We took our ice cream out but the cafe had ipads to use for free at the tables which looked fun. We will be back.

Brilliant ice cream, great range of flavours and very reasonable prices. I went with my boyfriend and he was very pleased to see they had the football on. They also had iPads on the table which was odd but very cool. The service was fairly standard but didn't take anything away from the place. I absolutely loved it.
