Delicious food - sort of food you'd get in a really fancy restaurant but at a fraction of the price. The students are enthusiastic though some of the serving students are v inexperienced which I guess is what you can expect. I'd go back again and I think it's a great thing to encourage.

We had lunch yesterday 19 October. We had a wonderful experience. Everything was perfect . The staff are amazing, one and all. The service is impeccable. The food is truly exceptional. If you get the chance to go here, do not hestitate. I cannot find fault with anything at all. We chose the Market Place menu and I was fortunate enough not to be driving , so chose the wine pairing with my menu. It was so worth it. I had an English wine for the first time and highly recommend it. My husband was driving and only had a sip of each of mine, but he agreed totally that the choices were perfect. We were both bowled over by the whole experience .I am looking forward to going back as soon as possible.

Tuvimos un buen paseo desde Edimburgo, a través de Dean Village, así que estábamos listos para una taza y algo de comer. Tomamos té, café, un bollo de pudín negro y un bollo marrón hachís, los marrones hachís eran bastante insípidos, sin embargo, el bollo / chiabatta era delicioso. The best restaurant I've been to in Edinburgh! The price for the meat buffet for dinner is high but it is well worth it. The meat is delicious and from time to time they ask if we have any meat preferences so they can bring us a little more of that. All the waiters and waitresses who served us were very friendly, especially Douglas, our favorite! Highly highly recommended!

The pizza in here is phenomenal! The range of options and flavours is unreal. They are big enough to share or take some home with you. The staff are so lovely and helpful, you couldn’t ask for a nicer bunch of people to interact with.

We’ve been to Kanpai many times and have always had excellent sushi. It’s always beautifully presented and the service is always friendly

Best Ice cream in Scotland, proper Italian Ice cream. Like mama made it.

When I was a student, I went 3 times a week. I couldn't drink alcohol, so I was grateful that he let me order coffee. I like the hideaway-like atmosphere under the stairs, and the chairs are great because you can sit freely and relax. It's more free, spacious, and friendly than the jazz live houses in New York. On funk days, if you want to dance, some people will dance in front of the stage. Rough clothing is also OK. I've seen many people get too drunk to climb the stairs or fall down the slope outside, so please be careful. Taxis don't come unless you call for one. It's my favorite place.

A very nice Thai lunch from the fixed menu. Draught Singha beer is good, I could half a half and husband could have a pint. Not a large restaurant, so best to book. We'll be back.

Ordered the chicken ramen and a vegetarian tonkotsu - both gorgeous. Massive portions, well worth the money.

All of the staff had immediate knowledge of what was included in each dish, and the dietary requirements they were suitable for. They were very polite! Nothing was too much trouble
