The service was good but Sorry to say but this restaurant not authentic Korean restaurant. I eat Jap Chae and thats the worst taste Jap Chae that i ever ever ate. For my opinion chef need to more practice for korean food. Combine with your good service and good taste in future, you will be successful.

The owner is a really lovely woman. We ordered chicken teriyaki, kimchi, tteokbokki and ya chae bokun bab and although I'm vegetarian and I didn’t try the chicken teriyaki, I can say that the other two were just amazing. Would totally recommend to go with friends or family!

It is not recommended for people with large appetites to go there, as the portions of the grilled meat are really small and the sauce is quite tasteless.

On the Easter Sunday, after visiting On 13th May 2024, I visited this restaurant for our lunch with my wife. All staff were very kind as usual. All curtains were also very good. We enjoyed very much. Thank you. Stockbridge Market, we visited this Korean Style BBQ for our lunch. The BBQ was so good. Therefore I forgot to take Photos of BBQ. Maybe, I will take photos next visit. The staff lady was very kind. The restaurant was so comfortable. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you!

Our food was full flavored. The Kimchi Pancakes (#2 £18.90) were crispy on the outside and tender inside. The Do Ji Boologi (#35 Spicy Pork £12.80) was loaded with chili paste; good thing we order Bab Rice to go with it (#56 £3.00). The Mixed Vegetable Tempura (#9 £12.80) was light and crispy. At 18:00 on a Friday evening, we were the only diners; they have a half-dozen tables. Hope they decide to post the menu on their website.

Definitely to avoid the beef bone soup, can't see any beef with bone, just the tiny beef and the soup is super salty, feel like just the soup with MSG

Were there at lunchtime. The landlady was extremely friendly. The food was freshly prepared and was very tasty. Teryaki Salmon. Water and pickled salads were included as starters. Then a Korean tea. All in all very recommendable. Don't be put off if there are no other guests there.

Was taken here for a Father’s Day meal, really impressed with the quality of food and service. Food was tasty and I enjoyed cooking it on the hot plate and building the lettuce wraps with all the flavoursome bits and bobs. Small on the inside but we went as a family of six and we were comfortable. Parking may be difficult on weekdays however, on a Sunday afternoon we parked up with no issues. Highly recommend

My friends and I went here for dinner. There was a sweet lady who just as we sat there looking through the menu was already filling us some water. She was so lovely and the food was as great as se was. She also gave us some candies when the bill came up. Me and my friends really recommend this place so, if you happen to visit Edinburgh you most definitely have to come to this place to eat!! If you're looking for the best Korean BBQ experience in Edinburgh, I highly recommend trying out the sangyupsal at this particular spot. Not only is the food delicious, but the cozy ambience adds to the overall dining experience. The service is also top-notch and it's clear that the staff take pride in making sure their customers are satisfied. All in all, it's a fantastic option for anyone looking for a tasty and memorable meal.

A perfect place to taste the flavour of the homemade korean food. The owner is a sweet woman, who made the ambient so comfy. We ordered Chicken teriyaki, kimchi, Teok bok ki, Ya Chae Bokun Bab. Everything was delicious, and she even gave us some candies.

The Korean BBQ, cold noodles, sundubu, and bibimbap are delicious. You can have a salad-like appetizer with 3 types of garnishes, but you can get unlimited refills. The store clerk is very nice and it's one of my favorite stores.

Excellent Korean food! Didn't try the barbecue but the spicy seafood and rice was excellent.

One thing common of Korea and Scotland is cold weather. So warm food in hot stone bowl may be what you would enjoy in those cold winter days and nights. Perhaps not fully the Korean authentic way to cook, maybe with some fusion / influences from Chinese style, overall, good food at good price.

Fantastic visit! Our first time doing Korean bbq did not disappoint, our server was very attentive and talked us through the process. We had the mixed meat set for 2 and everything was so tasty, the side dishes that accompany are fantastic and so fresh! We also ordered a portion of rice and kimchi on the side and the house kimchi was so delicious. Despite not having an alcohol license there was a great selection of soft drinks and juices. Would definitely visit this place again, 5s all round

I believe the owner is not Korean but it doesn’t matter as it’s still the best BBQ and by far the best service. It’s small and there were only 2 people working in the restaurant when we were there. The lady offered lemongrass water to the people waiting for their takeaway, which I think incredible as it would never happen in London. We ordered kimchi and she topped up the plates whenever we finished, which again never happens in London. The beef was very tender and flavoured that my son finished 2 plates. We also got given 3 big coconut biscuits for dessert that my son had all without sharing any to poor old mum and dad. Voted best thing to do in Edinburgh by my son 😹 (well, he is only 12) and best kimchi by me. It’s definitely my family’s favourite.

Went for a late lunch/early dinner with 3 friends. Couldn’t ask for better service for people who haven’t been before, and the quality of food was astounding. I couldn’t recommend this place more, and if you’ve never been to a Korean BBQ place before you should 100% give this one a try, guarantee you’ll love it!

This was our first time visiting KS BBQ. We opted for the x2 person beef menu plus one other main and a couple of starters between 3. Probably too much food, but the various plates and tastes were fantastic. We opted for the x3 beef options in fantastic marinades and the bbq cooking was a lot of fun. The salads are wonderful and replenished if you’d like more. Nice cosy place to visit in winter although it was quiet for a Monday December night. Mei was incredibly helpful in guiding us on how to out our meat and salads together, so tasty. For a different dining experience, highly recommended if one the table doesn’t mind doing most of ‘the cooking’!

We felt like Joseph and Mary as everywhere we tried was fully booked so it was by sheer accident or desperation that we ended up here. Not licensed but a co-op 60 yards away has a good selection of booze. I had dish 20 which is BBQ thin slices of steak. Only once it was delivered did I realise that you cooked it yourself on a special hot plate set into the centre of the table. Beef fondue eat your heart out. The charming waitress showed me how to cook the meat and fold it into a lettuce leaf to eat. An absolutely unique experience that I can't wait to repeat.

Korean BBQ is a really fun vibe for a small group of people, and this spot is a great option! The food is so tasty, it is very reasonably priced for the amount you get and the service is wonderful.

Food was fantastic. Had the set pork BBQ for 2 and it was delicious. The side dishes were great and the atmosphere was lovely and cosey. The lady who served us was really friendly, attentive and fun. The prices were very reasonable for the quantity of food included with the BBQ set meal. I am a big eater but the portions were great. A very enjoyable place to eat, i will be back.

Went with a friend and we went for the self-cook options where you grill your own meat/veg on a hot plate at the table. Got a portion of noodles to share as well which were very good. Staff attentive and helpful despite being very busy. Prices very good as well. Would definitely go back. The Japanese lemonade was revelation for me as well!

The food appears to be decent and made with care. But as one of the few Korean residents living here, I have to make this clear: this is not Korean food. It is some form of an interpretation of Korean food (hence, Korean “style”). Judging from the scent and the way ingredients are cut and shaped, my guess is some variant of Chinese cuisine. If your interest is fusion cuisine, go for it. If you want straight-up Korean food, this is not it. 쨥췌에 향쉰류 ㅇㅈ고 덕보끼능 꽈츄갸루 범버기에요 항구크음식 기대해따가 크으닐나요 봔촨부퉈 바바용 몽말인지알지?

Op de laatste dag van de vakantie nog even hier uiteten. Bijzondere manier van BBQ-EN, maar zeker erg lekker. We waren erg verrast door de hoeveelheid en de constante aanvulling van div groente en rijst. Met een voldaan gevoel lopen we naar huis. Aardige mevrouw. Leuk restaurant. Helaas geen biertje.

Overpriced BBQ. Very few meat pieces, basic banchan, and no rice. not filling.

I have to endorse this Korean restaurant with my PhD student status at the University of Edinburgh again. I never imagined in Edinburgh I can have Jab Chae and tteok bok gi with fish cake…and they are so authentic. Because I’m Chinese from the north, their Jab Chae here tastes exactly the same as what I ever had in my childhood…so delicious as if I was back in east Asia right now…. tteok bok gi with fish cake is so rare in Edinburgh’s Korean restaurants as well. You have to order these two here as you won’t find them in other Edinburgh’s Korean restaurants. The spicy squid with veggies taste also great, recommended. The only problem is the kimchi pancake is all burnt and turns bitter all the way..a bit down but overall a good restaurant.

Had an excellent time here getting a meal with friends, we were quite early for dinner so the place was empty except for us. The owner was so kind and friendly, she was hovering over us like a doting mother and explaining how to eat things if we were struggling. Would absolutely recommend if you want to try KBBQ for the first time but you're nervous!

I got the beef bibimbap and the pork bulgogi. Both were very tasty and flavorful!! Cute little family owned place with great service. Will definitely come back!!

First time here and loved it! Great menu to choose from which includes dishes from the kitchen or food for your BBQ that sits in the middle of the table. We chose quite a lot of food to BBQ which meant cooking ourselves most of the evening which was lots of fun. If you prefer not to work too hard for your food, you can just order other dishes, a couple of which we tried and they were very good. Very cheerful welcome as soon as you walk in and at the moment, you’re allowed to BYOB which is super, but they also have quite a selection of soft drinks. Super service, great food and good fun! We are already looking forward to going back!

We went for the first time yesterday, and were blown away! There is a good choice on the menu and everything we ordered (for four people) was delicious. The staff are so friendly and helpful, if you are not quite familiar with the Korean BBQ technique. We ordered loads, and the portion sizes are generous, and the food was still only £25 per person. An added treat is being able to BYOB!! Cannot wait to go back :-)

Cozy little Korean barbecue restaurant, with very welcoming and warm service. We had the pork set, supplemented with some marinated beef short ribs. All the meat was excellent, with very flavorful marinades. Loved the food, service and ambience. Good value for money. Will be back soon.

Whoa! This is our new Friday takeaway spot for sure. I got the beef with glass noodles and family got the veggie tempura and beef with rice (I don't remember the names, but #'s 9, 33, & 36) with an extra side of rice. It was all delicious! I only wish I had ordered more food!

Amazing experience doing a first-time Korean BBQ. The staff was very lovely and the quality of the food was fantastic.

Not authentic Korean food. Avoid!!! food was me mediocre and not proper Korean cooking. The beef stew is a right rip off with chewy beef pieces and few strands of glass noodle with plenty MSG I would never go back again AVOID at all cost!

Overpriced. The hot soup dish (priced at 11gbp) only has 4 pieces of tiny beef dots, some glass noodles, no kimchi, no bean sprouts, no seaweed, nothing you find in typical Korean hot soups. It's basically a bowl of rice, a bowl of noodles, plus some cheap instant miso soup you can get from any Asian supermarket for less than 1 quid. It tastes like instant miso soup. The cost for this dish is less than 2gbp. It has little protein, no veggies, no nutrition, and plenty of carbohydrates (which are very cheap). This is not only not authentically Korean, but also ridiculously overpriced for a lack of any nutritional value. Really horrible experience here, and gives a bad reputation to Korean food.

It's one of the best restaurants I have been to. The owner is very welcoming, food is great and the rates are reasonable as well. If you visit Edinburgh and plan to have Korean food then this place it's a must, it's just few minutes walk from Princess Street.

I was very excited to see Korean Style BBQ joining the neighbourhood and went along with a friend for dinner shortly after they opened before Christmas. We ordered some classics from the menu (Kimchi-jjigae, Bibimbap, Tteokbokki) and all were delicious! The proprietress was so friendly and even gave us little Christmas gifts to celebrate their opening week. The space itself was warm, sparkling clean, and had a cozy atmosphere. I'm looking forward to returning in the new year with friends to try the K-BBQ menu.

We noticed this new Korean BBQ restaurant while out walking and decided to try it out. So glad we did, wonderfully friendly staff, super healthy tasty food, reasonable costs helped by the fact that they don't yet serve alcohol but you can bring your own. Enjoyed cooking our own BBQ food at the table once we had had an initial demo from our waitress. We highly recommend and will visit again soon.

We have been following the refurbishment of this place with great expectation, and I can say that I'm not dissapointed, it was worth it the waiting. Absolutely delicious food, the bbq is an experience itself!, the lady serving us was super kind, offering her advice and asking if we need more lettuce or drinks. I'm sure will repeat soon, and I can say it is totally recommendable. We pay 55GBP in total for a 3-people meal with drinks, good quality meat, and delicious sides. Gorgeous!

Came for dinner with my mum as we saw the restaurant had just opened, blown away by the friendly owner who even took the time to teach us how to kBBQ properly. The quality of meat was incredible and if you get a set menu you get unlimited sides! Lots of funky drinks imported from Korea to try! Will definitely be back!

New, shiny, scary and alluring! Korean Style BBQ is a case of nominative determination or determinative naming; it's a Korean BBQ. I guess it doesn't need a name beyond that. I'd never tried a Korean BBQ before when I bravely pushed open the door on week one of the venue being opened and went inside for lunch. I was welcomed as I stepped inside, and I returned the favour by explaining how excited and nervous I was. My kind host reassured me that they'd look after me, and they did. I sat at one of a half-dozen tables, each one suitable for about four people, with a hot plate in the middle. You don't have to order meat to drop on that hot plate, but I did. I'll try their rice bowls, noodles and other dishes over time, and I've already decided to go back. I had the marinated chicken and a seafood pancake to start, except the seafood pancake came later. I guess it needs to be made while the chicken is given in a dish to me. The menu, which I think is designed to feed groups of two or more but which has solo dishes. doesn't mean clear you also get a salad with your meat. I was curious! I got a plate of lettuce and serval little dishes of sides which I decided to turn into lettuce-style kebabs, cooking batches of the kitchen at a time and eating with my hands. I hope this isn't a terrible taboo in Korea. It was a little messy and a lot delicious. I can't cook. I'm a set fire to the bag the microwave pop-corn is in sort of kitchen disaster, but I managed here and had supervision. Next time, I'll turn the heat down to a cooking level once it's good and hot and then down again to maintain the heat while I eat through the last of my dish. Given we get such a generous amount of side salad, I don't think the food here is terribly expensive, and I paid about £25 for my fat pancake, a plate of chicken, hot sauce, a drink and several plates of side. Tip: Is it a date venue? I think it depends on people's abilities to cook and chopstick eat gracefully? For me? Fat chance!
