Amazing food and service. Couldn't recommend more!

Viet restaurant if it was presented as “high end.” I didnt expect much when the restaurant doesn’t seem family owned. Got the summer rolls and pho. The food was decently authentic but portions were brutally small compared to its price. The pho bowl was about the size of my hand with little protein. The summer rolls were smaller than the average roll; with mainly noodles. Pho came with a fried chinese donut stick—good touch. Hoisin sauce and sriracha were presented in a small disk. Beef was tender. Broth was a little flat. Edinburgh does not have many great viet options, this is the closest you’re going to get. Unfortunately, not something I’d recommend as someone who is viet. Service was good and attentive though.

Not the best. Service was good and friendly. However, the broth was not very flavourful. Very small portion compared to price. Meat to broth to noodle ratio was off. They give you a little bit of chili sauca and hoisin in a bowl. Wish they just let you do it yourself. Summer rolls were very small and not a lot inside them. But the peanut sauce was good.

We had a delicious dinner here. The Mi Ga was our favorite but the crunchy sea bass was a close second.

A super cozy place, a very small restaurant with a nice, quiet atmosphere. Super good and pleasant service, and there was time for the waiters to take care of the guests. Really good vegan and vegetarian options! We tried their vegan dish, salt and pepper tofu. A very simple dish, but hold on, a taste. Great balance between strong and sour. Wow, if you come here, you must taste this dish. We also tried the pho and stir-fry chicken pho. Both dishes were tasty but did not quite reach the same level. The noodle dish could have had a bit more flavor, and the pho was a bit too sweet - it lacked a bit of acid, so the balance wasn't quite right. The meatballs in the soup were not my thing either. The price was really good in relation to the quality, the interior of the place and the service.

I have been to this wonderful restaurant 3 times. 2 times the servive, atmosphere and everything were an honest 10/10. Our waitress was amazing with her recommendations and making us feel welcome. So for the third time I reserved a table for my special guest, my mum was visiting us and all part of her birthday celebrations. Unfortunately this time I was a bit disappointed. The staff was friendly but nothing like the usual hospitality. I had mentioned several times that it was a special occasion, but nevertheless we were very rushed with ordering and the vibes were off for me. I am gutted as it was a special time for us and it left me feeling a bit disappointed. Hopefully next time it will be great again :)

This Vietnamese restaurant is a gem! The staff are incredibly welcoming, and the food is as authentic as it gets, with really fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It’s easily made its way into our top 3 restaurants in Edinburgh—highly recommend!

Had a delightful lunch. The waitress was so friendly and helpful. The food was gorgeous and lots of vegan options. I also had some organic wine which was delicious. Everything we ate was delicious. The avocado summer rolls and the stir fry veggie pho were particularly good

Visiting Edinburgh and walked in this nice Vietnamese restaurant , we didn’t make reservation and the server was nice enough to offer us a table. The food was very good, you can tell that all are made and not store bought products, the Vietnamese spring rolls were not the same as the ones we used to have in Hong Kong, it tasted fresh and crispy. Pho had 2 types of beef and with very tasty beef balls, broth was just right, also love the crispy dough with a chili/Hoi Sin sauce, something that I’ve never had in Vietnamese restaurants before, the server said it’s from the boss’s hometown. The fried rice and salad was also tasty. Will definitely recommend to friends and come back when I visit the city.

Small and intimate restaurant, serving exciting Asian - fusion foods. I have never liked eating peppers my whole life, but somehow the way they were cooked in the beef dish was simply phenomenal! Great service, and lovely atmosphere. Already recommended to friends and family! Will definitely be visiting again when visiting Edinburgh next time.

Visited SEN for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. It is a small and cosy restaurant that is quite popular, so I would highly recommend to book in advance. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had ordered a variety of dishes but a special mention for the salt & pepper squid with the special seasoning, delicious! They have a vegan menu too which was a bonus. The only downside was that we were not able to try any desserts cause we were so full but will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place.

Great food. Reasonably priced with friendly and helpful staff. We were there during the Edinburgh Festival and it’s a very popular spot. Make sure you book as it’s not a big restaurant!

There isn't much to be found for Vietnamese food here in Edinburgh, but this place will satisfy your craving for the flavors of Viet Nam. The food was flavorful and delicious, presentation is excellent and the range of items on the menu perfect for a great dining experience. I'd fully recommend this to anyone who loves Asian cuisine. We were dining lightly, so we just had the 5-spice chicken skewers, sticky tofu tamarind and the papaya salad. Skewers were quite flavorful, with sweet chili sauce, served atop some rice vermicelli. The sticky tofu could have been a bit more tamarindy, but was a nice treat nonetheless. We added a serving of rice to sop up all that tasty sauce. Papaya salad was crisp and fresh (who knows where they got the green papaya!), on point: tangy, sweet and spicy as it should be with the expected aromatic herbs: mint, Thai basil and cilantro. Next time, we'll be having the Shrimp Paste on Sugarcane (a personal favorite), Pho and the Sea Bass, all of which sounded so appetizing, but we weren't hungry enough to do it justice. Space is tight, the place is popular, so definitely get a reservation in advance. This is an awesome place for a date, interesting food, classy, yet lively, atmosphere and the service is very friendly.

This beautiful little restaurant was one of the best discoveries we made in Edinburgh. The place has few tables but the space is very pleasant and cozy. I went with high expectations about the pho, one of my favorite dishes and I can safely say that it is the best I have had since 2017 in Vietnam, I would dare say even better! You can see that the recipe is traditional and they use the Better ingredients and technique We also tried the shrimp with pepper as a starter, a true delight, and the fried calamari, also a surprise of flavors. For dessert, panna cotta and ice cream!!! Accompanied by white wine The best thing is the girl who runs the place, with nice attention she makes you feel at home! An experience not to be missed in Edinburgh

My wife and I were coming to Edinburgh for a 4 day trip, so I went onto a couple of Edinburgh Facebook groups to ask for recommendations as to where the locals eat and where to go. You will be pleased to know quite a few recom you, and as such why we booked. The food we had was excellent, and the two staff on duty that night were very friendly and helpful, even getting me on the Vietnamese beer. Certainly glad we took the local advice. This is literally the best food in Edinburgh! So fresh, tasty, amazing flavour combinations. Wish I could afford to order food from this restaurant every day.

We were walking along looking for a place for dinner and saw abit of buzz at Sen. Run don't walk here. Avoid disappointment and make a reservation. We had eaten alot that day and decided to order an assortment of starters - we had the papaya salad, crispy squid, spring rolls, fish cakes and chunky chicken with a couple of beers. The rood was unbelievably flavourful and complex - salty, sweet, sour and funky. It was an explosion of flavour in my mouth. When I had a spicy chili, they rushed over with a small bit of milk to cool the fiery heat without me asking. Service was fantastic- efficient without hurrying. For a small place, they had a good amount of traffic from reservations, walk ins and takeaway orders. If I lived in Edinburgh, this restaurant would be on my rotation when I am in the mood for elevated Vietnamese.

Food was nice whilst not being fully authentic but the flavours were well seasoned. The setting was small and cozy and was full, booking recommended.

Went with a friend for a chat and had a wonderful time. The chili chicken was delicious and incredibly crispy and fresh, some of the best Ive had. Our server, Nilufer, was lovely and very attentive. She mentioned the vietnamese coffee could be chilled and it was such an amazing treat on a hot day.

Oh my what amazing food! Lovely atmosphere, you almost felt like your Vietnamese mother had invited you into her house to have dinner. Lovely vibe. Lovely friendly service, two people for only a handful of tables, which made them relaxed about stopping and chatting about the food. Brilliant. So good we booked next week!

SEN is a cozy and inviting place. Professional, friendly and approachable staff with a great music taste. The presentation of each dish was visually appealing, reflecting the care and creativity that goes into their preparation. The blend of spices was spot on, providing warmth without overpowering the dishes. The seabass was perfectly cooked with a delicate texture, it was seasoned to perfection. Also, the curry at SEN is something you absolutely must try. Rich and creamy, it had the perfect consistency, with a depth of flavor. Definitely would be back in the future.

So arrived and we're informed it's cash only. The service was a bit mismatch and they could have left a jug of water on the table. Not much choice for wine by the glass but I would recommend the Vietnamese beer

This place was recommended by a colleague of mine and the food was really exceptional! I didn't have the chance to visit, so I can't comment on the atmosphere as we ordered takeaway. We ordered through UberEats the Saigon Prawn Summer Rolls, Stir-Fry Chicken Pho, and a dessert called Che. The summer rolls had an interesting texture, and the peanut sause was amazing. The stir-fry was full of flavour! This was the first time I tried dessert Che, and I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it. I will visit the restaurant the next time I'm back in Edinburgh.

This place is definitely a hidden gem and the great reviews are well justified. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. The starters were fantastic in particular the salt and pepper squid. Then I had the lemongrass chicken with rice for mains. All of it was excellent and would love to come back again.

One of the items delivered was incorrect. That's fine, things happen. Called the restaurant and was told they would not redeliver with the correct item despite it being thier mistake. If I wanted the correct food delivered I would have to reorder it online, pay for it again plus pay another delivery charge (or to avoid this go and collect it from the restaurant myself) The reason for this was 'the system won't allow us to redeliver because you ordered on Just Eat'. Eh? Terrible service.

Could not fault the food one bit! It was absolutely delicious! The service was also superb! Can’t wait to revisit!!

My experience was as a one time take away customer. I had one starter, three mains and one side. Overall, food was really good in terms of taste. Exception would be the Pho, the broth was just not right and I believe that if you are going to serve the variation with meat balls, that should be communicated as it is essentially another dish. In my case I just dislike it. Portion sizes and price its where I really had issues with SEN. Paying GBP 9 pounds for 3x mini spring rolls is nothing short of a joke. The most expensive however, must have been the Coconut Pork Belly with rice that was borderline tiny with meager 3 thin slices of pork belly, 2 leaves of pakchoi and half an egg for GBP 22. This has get to be one of the least laborious dishes and highest input price x final price ratio I came accross in Edinburgh. The only well served dish was indeed the Pho, which unfortunately was not to my taste. Packaging was really good though and food arrived warm the other side of town, and super fast. Dont be fooled by the low delivery fee, you will hardly feel satiated with close to 25-30 GBP per person without drinks. SEN is charging modern Asian bistro fees for takeaway and that does not make any sense. I wont be ordering again and due to the bad experience, shouldnt be coming around to enjoy the atmo and service, which just might make this all have some financial sense.

Loved this place. I went with my partner for Valentines and it was better than expected, we both like to try different types of Asian restaurants wherever we travel. Safe to say this is one of the best, if not the best we’ve had. Great, friendly staff, outstanding food and beautiful interior. I’ll be back next time I’m in Edinburgh!

What a gem of a place. The food was out of this world. The spring rolls, S&P squid, duck curry and pork belly was amazing. I’ve tried several Vietnamese restaurants and this is by far my favourite. I’m just gutted we don’t live in Edinburgh. The service was really good too. They were attentive and friendly especially Jane. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Very good service, simplicity and delicious food

A little gem in Edinburgh! Great for vegans and meat eaters as there is two full menus with great options. We ordered from the vegan and couldn’t fault the food in any way. So full of flavour and fresh ingredients. The portion sizes were very generous and we can’t wait to go back!

Had the prawn mousse, the pho bo, papaya salad, salt and pepper tofu and a lotus tea. Beautiful presentation, excellent atmosphere, astounding food. Staff was great - very informative and chatty. Be warned, the restaurant is intimate, so do book in advance and let them know if you need special accommodations.

I hate to leave a low review but the chicken lemongrass was inedibly salty. I politely mentioned this and was told 'that was how Vietnamese food is' (not my experience spending a lot of time in Vietnam). I'm sure they've taken on the feedback on but leaving an honest review of my experience. Staff are nice (except when dismissing polite feedback) and so was the rice.

10/10! Incredible food and service. Highly recommend going, however book because it’s small, but that’s all apart of its charm!

The duck leg flesh in curry stew is extremely soft and melts in the tongue. It's quite tasty. Fried squid is also a good option. The salinity is ideal. The beef balls in pho, a must-try in Vietnamese cuisine, are very fresh and do not have the taste of quick-frozen beef balls.

This is a great wee restaurant. It is small, so it can be difficult to get a table. The range of choices is wide and they cater well for omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. The service is thoughtful and prompt. Our spend per head was inflated by two bottles of wine. The wine list was short but offered good quality at reasonable prices. Everyone in our party, of five, enjoyed it. We will be back.

Wonderful food, friendly service and the setting is beautiful.

The personnel of that restaurant are very kind and they pay a lot of attention to us. We got three dishes, the salmon tart, pork with spring rolls and phỏ. Everything was very tasty and reminds me of when my wife and I were in Vietnam visiting her family. I really recommend that restaurant you will enjoy it a lot.

Very nice little restaurant with good food and amazing service. Pretty full at times - i recommend making a reservation. Food was amazing and not too big portions nor too small. Perfect for a datenight or bigger groups if you enjoy freshly made authentic vietnamese cooking.

Absolutely incredible! Could not recommend this place enough. We got the Tofu and rolls to start and then had the Lantern Duck Curry and the Sea-bass. All of the food was incredible. They also had a completely vegetarian/vegan menu and a fully GF too. If your in Edinburgh and after Vietnamese food this is the place to go.

Very nice viet food and always like to order the noodle soup with spring rolls. The price is relatively higher comparing with other Viet food, for example the pho viet. However, the noodle soup is rly tasty and it is one of the best favour for me. The only issue is that I feel a bit awkward when the waiters checking if we are done.

Fantastic food, wonderful service, friendly waitresses who took their time to explain (and show!) food preparation. I could have chosen any of the dishes on the menu. The six we had were all amazing. Loved the green tea with jasmine and pandan leaves (I believe), too. It's a small restaurant, you absolutely need to book a table. Overall, a wonderful experience, an explosion of flavors!

Both of the waitresses were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. The summer rolls were absolutely delicious and the main courses were good as well. Maybe the stir fry could be a bit more seasoned… Overall it was a great experience and one of our most satisfying restaurant-visits in Edinburgh!

Thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at SEN. The staff were lovely and very hospitable. It was my first time trying Vietnamese food and I am now definitely a fan. Myself and the rest of my party all thought the food was incredible. I had the chicken nest to start then the duck curry for my main, and was so stuffed I couldn't even manage dessert. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anybody.

Excellent! The beef noodle soup is everything and you must get the spring rolls. Great place to stop in for takeaway or enjoy a meal in. Be sure to book a table if you do plan to sit-in.

Professional service and sublime dishes. Portions were big. Vietnamese beer delicious, as was the Chenin Blanc. Sea bass to die for. One of the best dishes I've ever tasted. Cannot fault this place. Beautifully decorated. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.

We got a chicken stir fry instead of a vegetable one :( A vegetarian almost had to stay hungry.

Most of the dishes were super nice, tasty, and pretty authentic, except the Beef Pho which was too sweet for me (likely to be the Southern version of Pho, not the original one)

Venue à 2 pour dîner. Très bon accueil,bonne entrée (rouleau printemps fris au porc). Pho très bon mais j'ai été déçu de mon plat (poulet spicy trop salé et dans un bain d'huile).

Really pleasant restaurant with friendly staff. The food was really good, I had the seabass which was lovely in the sauce and very well presented. For dessert I had the Panna cotta which was not very sweet but really nice.
