Food is alright usually but a really weird and confused venue where we had to wait half an hour for some microwaved rice and a couple of chicken bits that were already on the rack? Staff seemed pretty clueless. Wasn’t even busy. Will try again in few months.

This place has just opened so maybe should give it another' chance.. 1st time wasn't so good when was busy . Gave it 4 star 2nd visit was better than first chicken was really fresh and tastes really good and chip and rice was on point so 2nd visit 5 stars

Chicking Edinburgh is not worthy of 1 ⭐. If you want food poisoning go here, you'd be safer not eating any of their meat, because if you can't do chicken right, what can you do right, my chicken was pink & grey the two colors that shouldn't be on chicken. Worst £12 I ever spent, & their manager lies to make more money, even McDonald's can change your coke for a hot drink and all you do is pay a little extra, at least when they ask you to wait 10minutes the food should be good & fresh, but my chicken looked old like it died of natural causes & was then under cooked by under trained staff. I doubt this place will be open much longer, not even any music playing in restaurant, not sure what this place is, but it feels like a front for something else.

This place as far superior to all other fast food restaurants- In fact it feels wrong to call it fast food when it’s so fresh tasting good to see some places still value there customers good portion sizes amazing prices nice relaxing atmosphere well decorated friendly staff can’t ask for anything more this is now my number one go to place wish there was more of them.

After eating here I have contracted food poisoning and been unwell since EDIT: there are 2 other reviews here also mentioning food poisoning. This is a problem you must address quickly EDIT 2: there are now 3 others reviews saying that they got a stomach bug after eating here. You have only been open for 2 weeks and people are getting sick after eating here EDIT 3: there are now 5 separate reviews saying that they got ill after eating here.

Read about the place on Halal Hot Spots, first time I went weeks ago less than half the menu was available. Went today - ordered 2 chicken tandoori burgers and the quaeselda as meals. Got home and whilst we had 10 minute drive home / food cold ! Think the buns are served cold. Paid for Peri fries ..around 1-2 sprinkles on top. I asked at the start how long the order would be / I was told 10 minutes, it was actually 30 minutes in the end. Didn’t ask what drinks I wanted and automatically added Pepsi ! Which I changed ! This is the most basic part of customer service, asking what someone wants ! Such a shame lots more nearer me in Newtown / Hillside area. Good luck but if you’re the owner please be there on a Saturday night - it was like walking into Faulty Towers ! My daughter said she prefers KFC

The food was really good except the chicken strips they were really dry and tough but the chick pop were absolutely amazing I would come here again and the customer service was absolutely fantastic I will 100% be tomorrow for more delicious food at a great price and thanks to the worker who helped me😎

just had Dinner with family. Burgers were okish. spicy fried chicken was awful. still raw near bones. worst thing is staff was arrogant (girl was having an argument with me over 2p). service was rubbish as we had some order straight away and have to wait 20 mins for rest of the food. i will not go again not recommended to anyone at all.

really good chicken would love it if the spicy chicken was a bit more spicy.

Ordered two plain chicken meals, almost burnt my face off. I could see some kind of red/orange marinade just under the skin. Either tone down the hot spices used in the plain chicken or make sure your employees are making the correct chicken.

This should be a great place, the chicken is far superior to KFC and most other halal places in Edinburgh. The service is very poor though. I had lukewarm chicken that was served to me after a ten minute wait and there were zero people inside the establishment. The staff seemed to be running around doing nothing as far as I could see. I was also served a very measly portion of chips with my meal - a bit shameful tbh. The pot of peri peri mayo that you pay extra for tastes of nothing. Very poor indeed. The chicken itself is really good, let down immensely by poor service.

Was looking forward to this but ended up being extremely disappointed. Food was tasteless and took forever coming out. Staff were not helpful at all, asked staff what was in the tacos and got told the complete opposite of what was actually in them. Chicken was grey inside. Wouldn’t recommend and definitely won’t be back.

I don’t think I will be going again I woke up with a very sore stomach this morning and also have been in and out the toilet several time! The first time I went to this place I thought wow the food was nice and hot service was really good but the second experience was very disappointing my cocktail wrap and tandoori burger was so cold it hardly had any salad or cheese in these burgers or wrap and I was sitting in and the fries omg they were cold and hard. I suggest they make the fries and food fresh when they get customers instead of giving them cold food! I did complain then only we got semi hot fries. Half of the things on that menu they don’t have so very disappointing again!

We recently tried Checking, the new fried chicken spot in Edinburgh, and it's hands down the best! The food is great, especially the must-try gulab sunde and all their chicken items. The cocktail wrap is another winner. Tried some veg dishes last time, and the plain rice was surprisingly delicious. The staff is super welcoming, despite a bit of slow delivery – they just opened a week ago, so I don't mind. Overall, amazing food and great service!

the chicken n coleslaw is fantastic... better than any other place

Ordered 2 meals asked for 1 to be a plain burger no spice and ordered 2 milkshakes. The one doing the milkshake didn't know how to use the machine and the burger was too spicy I couldn't eat it. Told them to cancel milkshake and asked for a non spicy burger again, when it came it was still spicy and not cooked very well.

I don't usually post negative comments but I have no choice. Came here for the third time since it opened two weeks ago. I was about to give it good comments but the third time was an utter disappointment as I had a ROTTEN chicken wing in my order! It was fishy and I gave it the benefit of the doubt since this place does good fried chicken. Sadly, the foul chicken wing was so pungent that a whiff of fishiness came as I opened the takeaway box. It made my stomach turn and I had to throw away the rest to avoid contamination and food poisoning. *My stomach was unwell on the second day! Service is slow since it just opened and I anticipate this would get better over time. However, the server who took my order just placed my takeaway on the till without telling me it's ready, and he continued chatting with his colleague. There are inconsistencies in quality and I hope management looks into this.

Chicking is the new fast food restaurant in town, but an established brand all over the world and coming all the way from Dubai. It is a great alternative to the KFC and provide much better and tastier fried chicken. The Chicken served is Halal, which is a great plus for those looking for Halal options in the town. Prices are cheaper too. Atmosphere is great and offers a lot of space for dine-in.

Wouldn't recommend. I spent over half an hour waiting for my food, and when I got it it was undercooked. There are so many nicer places to eat in the area.

Was recommended cocktail chicken wrap by the staff. It was very good and flavourful. A very filing wrap and very affordable too. Also got the chicken wings, one of the best fried chicken wings I have tasted here in edinburgh. Will get the spicier option in my next visit!

Food out here just smacked my tastebuds. Never had this quality Fried Chicken so far in UK. Me and my family loved it. Ambience in the restaurant is so good and spacious and the staff too are well organised.

Just ate lunch at Chicking in Leith. Great value, great service, great taste. Really pleased with the experience. They are still sorting the ordering but that is to be expected as it has only just opened.

After waiting 30 minutes for 2 chicken burgers and 6 bits of chicken half the chicken was piping hot the other half was freezing cold and tough , seen at least 2 people leaving after being told to wait at least 20 minutes for takeaway , maybe just teething problems as it’s newly open but I wasn’t very impressed!!

Chicking: Halal fried chicken from the UAE. Chicking is a new halal fast food restaurant that is similar to KFC, but with a few twists. The menu features chicken burgers, wraps, buckets, and fries, as well as some unique items such as shawarma burgers and chicken rice bowls. I was at Chicking a few days after it opened, and I was overall impressed with the staff, I found some teething problems with the service and otherwise promising food. The fries were tasty, even though they were a little cold. The flaming sweet chilli bites were delicious, but I did have to eat them with a spoon because that was all the restaurant could offer. One thing that I noticed about the Chicking menu is that there are no calories listed. This is a shame, as I like to know how many calories I am consuming when I eat out. However, I understand that Chicking may not be legally required to list calories on its menu. Overall, I think Chicking is a good option for people who are looking for a halal fast food meal. The food is tasty and the prices are reasonable. I would recommend trying Chicking, especially if you are a fan of KFC and can't get into the centre of town.

Honestly this is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Years ago traveled US to take Popeye’s chicken and never forget the crispy chicken. This restaurant got the very similar recipes for Popeye’s. Best crispy chicken in Edinburgh!! Definitely worth to have a try!!! Their service is amazing as well. Staffs are lovely and happy yo help!

Stick to KFC. Egrets addition for Leith to have as no fast food available other than the chick shop next door. But for the same cost and time waited in shop I could have ordered double the amount of food to be delivered from KfC on St Nicholson street.

This is a gem in Edinburgh opened recently. Been to Chicking Edinburgh with parents and they loved it! It’s a must try fried chicken restaurant when you are in Edinburgh. The seating and interior had a cozy ambiance. Their tandoori rice is a definite try, Tiny chicken strips mixed with spicy rice. Even in Edinburgh they have kept their authentic Signature fried chicken the same old taste. To end the meal on a sweet note, I indulged in their Gulab Chick, another good one. Overall, I can't recommend The Chicking enough. The combination of exceptional food, friendly service, and cozy ambiance makes it as the latest gem in Edinburgh.

I've been ordering from Orinoco for about a year and I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review. I have celiac and it's always a challenge to find good gluten free food. Look no further. Orinoco has an incredible selection of arepas and empanadas that will have you ordering over and over. I also make sure that when friends visit this is on our list of places to go or places to get food from on a rainy night in. Ham and Cheese empanadas that reheat perfectly for breakfast? Stuffed arepa for dinner? You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. Oh and that garlic sauce? Surreal. Groundbreaking. Love this place.

I’m so grateful that a Venezuelan friend pointed me in the direction of Orinoco! I am absolutely obsessed! The arepas are so filling and tasty, an absolute must try. I also tried an empanada filled with plantain which was different, but delicious! I highly recommend Orinoco!
