Came across this little cafe while stopping after a work meeting and so glad we did! Such great value for a large roll with filling of choice and was enchanted to be served tea in a real China teacup and saucer! Friendly service too thank you will definitely return when in the area!

Parked at Longniddry beach car park and walked into Gullane via Aberlady Nature Reserve and the beach so lunch was an absolute necessity! Goose on Green proved a perfect place to regenerate! Loved the mushroom soup and cheese scone both delicious followed by cream scone. Greed not need! This was perfect fuel before the lovely return walk back to Longniddry.

This is obviously a popular local spot and deservedly so. The atmosphere was buzzy and homely and the staff were very welcoming. The food was absolutely spot on and real value for money. I had the full Scottish, which was well cooked and a very generous portion of the usual favourites. Pot of real tea which poured to a decent strength right away, showing they don't scrimp on some cheap bag that you have to beat the life out of to get a decent cuppa. As for the selection of cakes, it verged on the criminal. I felt guilty eating one after the brekkie but they looked just too tempting to resist. Struggled to choose between a delicious looking lemon cheesecake and the outsized scones. So, more tea and opted for the latter which proved a very satisfactory choice. The day was topped with a drive back to Edinburgh via the lovely East Lothian back roads, even through the March drizzle. Thoroughly recommended as a specific destination if you're on a wee morning out.

Nice to see you open today. I got a really nice coffee. But I am concered and wonder why your staff do not wear masks. I am sure you do not want to get infected or pass coronavirus on to your customders. Think about this: your staff meet many customers and are therefore more likely to catch Corvid and more likely to pass it on to your customers. Your coffee was so nice I thought I would come back later for another. I didn't because I did not want to risk getting Covid again. Please think of your customers and wear a mask.

Can’t rate the food (which looked delicious) because I ended up having to ask for a refund so can only tell of my experience at the counter. Ordered 3 breakfast rolls and after a 15 min wait I asked how long and almost immediately my order was handed to me, after checking my order I informed the person behind the counter that my order was wrong, they questioned wether I was mistaken but eventually after I told them my order they took it back into the kitchen and then reappeared 5 mins later with what I had ordered, upon checking the order again, the food was cold and it appeared that they had just scraped the food out the roll that I didn’t want as there were bits still in the roll and again was cold. After informing the same person again I asked for a refund which was met with a scowl and a ‘sorry’ while putting the money in my hand. Very poor customer service.

My travels have taken me all over the world and after a while places to sit and drink coffee and have a snack all blur into much of a similar pattern, bought in cakes pre-made sandwiches and so-so coffee. Which I fully appreciate busy place have to do. Goose on the Green has a wonderfully authentic feel where you can just tell the owner really really cares about the customer expereince. Always a smile, the coffee is fine, but the cakes are as good as I have found anywhere, tradition cakes with exceptional baking. The average portion would feed a family of four. The brownie and Salted Caramel cake should be available through the NHS as their ability to lift ones spirits are quite magical.

We recently visited for a cuppa and slice and cake and were very impressed! Very welcoming upon entering and a great selection of cakes greeted you at the counter! The girls were friendly and welcoming. We choose a slice of carrot cake and chocolate fudge and then sat down to go with our coffee. The coffees were served in proper china cups which at this time makes a change from most coffee shops which are choosing to use paper cups! Very impressed! The cakes were simply delicious and will be returning to try more next time am in the area! Thank you.Certainly the best coffee and cake shop in the area in my opinion.

What a find on our recent visits to Gullane. We went three times whilst on holiday nearby. Dog friendly. We were made to feel very welcome. The food is superb. The staff are all very nice and pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately on our last visit our golden retriever puppy Bella became ill after drinking a lot of salt water on the beach so we had to make a hasty departure. The staff were so concerned and looked up details of a nearby vet. Fortunately Bella recovered after treatment from the Vet in Macmerry. I would certainly recommend this cafe. It seemed to be used by local residents which is always a good sign. Will definitely visit again if we are in the area. The scones are amazing.

Apparently this has replaced a very nice bakery. Well, we needed a hearty breakfast to keep us all going until a 4.30pm wedding meal and this place did a fabulous job. Eight of us descended on them on a sunny Bank Holiday Saturday and we had superb food and drinks, and brilliant, attentive service. The eggs royale were as good as any I have ever had, and I’ve had plenty! The coffee was delicious, and perfectly piping hot so I could enjoy lingering with it.The Scottish breakfast was truly hearty and well-satisfied the hungry chaps so anywhere that prevents the “grumpy hungry boy syndrome” is worth five stars to me! We’ll definitely return next time we’re North of the Border.

I went to Goose on the Green this morning for brunch with my elderly mother and partner. When we arrived no one greeted us and so we took a seat at a table. The young waitress walked over and throw three menus on the table without speaking to us. Unfortunately this is not the first time that we have experienced poor service from this particular girl and after reading over reviews it would appear this is a common issue. A nice cafe, with good food, let down by an extremely disinterested waitress incapable of providing good customer service.

Been here a few times now,,premises/atmosphere lovely, menu excellent and our food was very enjoyable, and would def recommend a visit. The only reason for a 4 star is that the staff were not over friendly. The young girl was very "sullen" and obviously did not want to "be there". When clearing the table (which took quite a while) I thought that we would be asked if everything had been enjoyable and if not then, maybe when we paid.....but no, it did not happen. Would go back again but these points maybe something for owner to take note, especially when they have a board asking for Trip Advisor Reviews!

I had the good fortune to stumble across this little gem and was so impressed by the warm atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Gullane is a golfing community, not really known for its progressive take on food but this lovely cafe has changed that. The owner took time to chat and told me that they had opened last year with the aim of bringing healthier food to the area. The eggs benedict was superb and their homemade cakes and absolute winner. They bake their own sourdough bread which was some of the best I have ever had. Sitting by the roaring fire I knew I had found a place that I would return to whenever I pass through.

Literally just got up and walked out after reading the menu prices. We were here last summer for lunch, had one of the best bowls of Cullen skink soup to date, came back specifically for that today as in the area, only to find that for one bowl of soup as a starter was £9.95 or for a large bowl of the same is now priced at £15.95! FOR A BOWL OF SOUP! I know it’s a tourist hotspot, but take off your Dick Turpin masks No 12!!
