'Cherish' offers a wide range of different lunch options in a really vibrant and comfortable atmosphere, which has proven to become very popular with the locals. My experience there, this afternoon, was a pleasant one where i could enjoy a handmade cheese and ham toastie with a nice hot chocolate. The staff there today were lovely, approachable and best of all, chatty. I would highly recommend and will definitely come back.

Wonderful. We took my mother for afternoon tea for her 84th birthday and it was a real treat. Lovely experience with great sandwiches, scones and a selection of cakes. Tea and coffee in chinaware tea cups too, with refills. Very friendly, attentive and helpful service. The afternoon tea was so good that my mother and wife declared it was the best ever. That is some praise as they've been to many places for afternoon tea over the years. Very affordable price and our various dietary requirements were dealt with thoughtfully and helpfully in the booking process - do book in advance for that help. The front of Cherish has obviously suffered from some damage recently but don't let that put you off. It is well worth the tiny bit extra walk away from the main shops. Do visit.

The loveliest place with fantastic staff and delicious homemade food! I pop in to Cherish regularly and I can honestly say it’s one of the nicest cafes in East Lothian. We’re always welcomed with a lovely atmosphere, the staff are very friendly. There is a great selection of food, sweet and savoury and drinks (lots of lovely loose leaf teas too!). I’ve had afternoon tea there on three occasions and it’s one of the best afternoon teas in the area. 100% worth a visit, you won’t regret it!

We came to this cafe today for some lunch , 2 kids , 2 adults and a dog . We saw on the website it states ; We strive to create a warm and friendly atmosphere with both indoor & outdoor seating, free wifi and full disabled access. Children and dogs are very welcome, please ask the team for children’s activities or doggy snacks! When we arrived and settled down I went up to order the food . When ordering i asked what cold drinks do You have and was told - it’s on the menu. Wow ! Having worked in hospitality for many years that’s not the typical response . I didn’t find that friendly . We all ordered the sausage rolls. To be fair they were nice but I think it needs to be clear that these are mini sausage rolls not an actual full sausage roll. We noted when we were sitting there the staff were very friendly to the locals , very chatty and also speaking to the dogs . No one spoke to us apart from when I ordered . I also had to ask for the sausage roll to be heated the woman looked like I had really annoyed her by this and so when I asked for tomato sauce I was met with ‘I’ll have to check ‘ . We ate our food after spending around £22 for 4 mini sausage rolls ( 1 with salad and crisps ) 2 cans of san pellegrino And 2 cartons of apple juice and a soup. We got up to leave and not one member of staff said thank you or goodbye as they had done with everyone else . Maybe it’s just a cafe for locals. In East Lothian we are spoiled for choice so we know we have many other excellent cafes and we most definitely will not be back and will not recommend .

Had a cup of tea and a scone here the other day, and I'm not kidding - with the exception of my grandma's treacle scones, the scone I had here (lemon and poppy seed, served with lemon curd and clotted cream) was the best scone I've ever eaten in my entire life. And I've eaten a fair few. Can't recommend highly enough!

The perfect place to stop off after a beach walk. From the minute we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. The cakes and scones all looked amazing so we settled on sharing a slice of Victoria sponge, pimped up with some gorgeous Easter decorations, and a tropical fruit scone which we were able to have with pineapple jam. Our pot of tea for two was plentiful, just like they used to be! Everything was brought over to the table on a little trolley which we loved. But better than all of this, was the service, which was absolutely faultless. Our dog Seve, absolutely loved all of the fuss he got. Thank you for giving us such a great start to our week in Gullane.

My family and I had booked an afternoon tea for Sunday 11th September and were very much looking forward to it. However just over an hour before we were due to arrive I received a message from Louise the owner telling me that broadband workmen had arrived to lay cables right outside the tea room and were making a terrible noise and mess. Louise was so apologetic - she hadn’t been told that would be happening so it was as much of a surprise to her as it was to us. At first I was thinking we’d surely just be able to brave it but she sent a video and photos of the work going on and I was shocked at the extent of how inaccessible it made the shop. Louise kindly offered us afternoon tea to take away instead of sitting in which we gratefully accepted. We had gift vouchers for 3 out of 4 of us I had been given as a present and we had planned to pay for the 4th member of the party in the day. Louise told us that due to to the inconvenience she would waive the cost of the 4th afternoon tea. I was so grateful to her, especially when the inconvenience to us was minimal in comparison to the inconvenience she must have felt. She’d had to close the tea room for the rest of the day (and the following day too I understand). When I arrived to pick up our take away I understood why. The work was going directly outside the front door and I couldn’t even go in to pick up my order - one of the workmen who was sitting on a digger between me and the front door had to pass me my food and Louise her vouchers. I felt terrible for her. On a positive note the food was delicious and I would thoroughly recommend the afternoon tea. We were all very full by the end and my guests left with doggy bags! Thank you so much to Louise for saving the day and we’d love to visit the tea room soon for a rerun!

I can strongly recommend this lovely cafe. All the food is fresh and there is an amazing selection of sandwich fillings which can be served as a salad or toastie. I am Coeliac so was delighted to find a Gingerbread loaf as an option and my husband loved the Victoria sponge so much he took two slices home with him but one went to our daughter who also loved it. There is an emporium of vintage and local crafts in the basement well worth a wander through. We travelled from Edinburgh and were glad to get a table as there are only six tables inside and two outside. Thank you ladies 💝

There are a lot of cafés {as well as golf courses} in Gullane. My preferred café is the Cherish Vintage Tearoom where the staff are always friendly. This may not be the "trendy" place to go but the coffee, cakes and scones are good quality and great value. For example, the café don't list macchiato but after a brief description they produced one of the best around Edinburgh. And yes, I did order a second and yes, it was as good as the first. We also ordered a chocolate banana cake which looked lush of chocolate. The taste of banana came through giving a nice balance of flavour; good enough for the whole slice to disappear rapidly. Next time we may try one of the grand looking scones or even the home made soup which had been recommended by the people sitting next to us. If you like tea, the shelves are full of many variations. My friend was offered an explanation of each tea but I was more focused on the essentials; the cake counter. Roll on our next walk along the coast.

After going to our usual cafe in Gullane, with my mother in law and nephew in tow, and finding it closed I was trying to find an alternative . Thankfully we didn't have too far to walk until we came across Cherish. I had the soup of the day which was nice, but could have been warmer, and the Cherish The Beet sandwich which was very tasty. My nephew and mother in law enjoyed their food too. Overall an enjoyable visit and this could well be my new usual cafe when in Gullane.

Great food, superb staff. Starters, so many to choose from. I plumped for the bees bau bun, my wife Haggis bon bons and marmalade sauce. Both were superb, the bau bun was soft, filled with superb, tender, tasty beef. The haggis with marmalade sauce was equally impressive. Mains... The wife had mussels, good sized portion and very tasty. I plumped for the burger. I love a good burger, but often the disappoint. Not here though. Really good burger, pickles, chips and a proper tasty coleslaw. No room for pudding. Beer was well kept and tasty. Thumbs up from the wife for the pornstar martinis. The staff were really friendly and made the night, as dis the epic 80s playlist. Well worth a visit.

Literally just got up and walked out after reading the menu prices. We were here last summer for lunch, had one of the best bowls of Cullen skink soup to date, came back specifically for that today as in the area, only to find that for one bowl of soup as a starter was £9.95 or for a large bowl of the same is now priced at £15.95! FOR A BOWL OF SOUP! I know it’s a tourist hotspot, but take off your Dick Turpin masks No 12!!
