We hired out Chatters for our wedding and it was the perfect place to host our wedding breakfast. The meticulous planning of Katie and Rosie was exemplary; they really listened to what we wanted, and catered for every need. Communicative, clear and kind. The service from all of the staff was amazing - glasses never empty, extra portions, and personable conversation. It felt like being welcomed into someone's home. The food at Chatters is some of the best in the area and all of our guests are still talking about the fantastic meal they had: "One of the best meals of my life" said one! The pudding trolley (a Chatters institution) was fabulous as always, too. The kitchen team are every bit as amazing as the front-of-house team. We knew the service from the Chatters team would be excellent, so we employed them for our wedding reception at Dunoon Burgh Hall, that same evening, and the transition from location to location was seamless. Our evening buffet food went down a treat, and sustained everyone for the rest of the night. Our day would not have been what it was, if it wasn't for the team. They are absolutely a 5-star restaurant and dining experience - we'd give them more stars if we could! Thanks again to Katie, Rosie and the team. Lewis and Ed x

We went to Chatters for the French evening on Fri 10th November. What can I say? Food the best on this side of the peninsula and would give city centre eateries a run for their money. Front of house had Rosie working her magic getting everyone seated and settled (the place was full). Eva was knowledgable, funny and selected superb wines to match the food so tastefully prepared by Katie and her team. It was tasteful, flavoursome and beautifully presented. Having good friends in Lyon, I never knew the French preferred their cheese course before dessert but it does make sense. A wonderful evening and I look forward to going back for an a la carte experience next time.

Wonderful bakers and cafe centred in Dunoon town. Wide range of bread / rolls cakes and bakery products. Cafe with large menu choices from full cooked meals to lighter options of rolls and cakes. Helpful and friendly service with staff serving you at the table. Toilets available for customers. Full disability access throughout and disabled toilet - at least a toilet a wheelchair can fit in. Parking kerbside close by when space allows and there are also public car parks in Dunoon - highly recommend …

It is more than a decade since I visited Dunoon and time has not treated this once couthy resort town well. In the sixties, my granny would spend a couple of weeks there in the summer and visits to the town were frequent in the decade, when various family members were participating in running and jumping athletics events at the Cowal Highland games. The buildings on the once-marvellous Victorian pier have been allowed to fall into rack and ruin, giving you a very bad impression right from the off. Walking up Argyll Street is similarly depressing, with countless run-down and unoccupied shops adding to the impression that the town is really struggling for survival. Indeed, many of them have had a notice from the proprietor of a local enterprise almost pleading with the owners to do something about the sorry state of their property. Although I had been recommended to take lunch in the Lorne, the outside is, like much of the town, nothing to write home about. BUT..... The inside is a revelation. It really is extraordinary. From dilapidated to delightful, the contrast between the exterior and the interior is jaw-dropping. Everything about the Lorne is absolutely smashing, with well-trained, friendly and helpful staff, keen to make you feel at home. Although there is an extensive menu, I decided to opt for one of the specials on the blackboard, a soup and sandwiches combo for £9.95 plus a pot of tea for £2.90. The soup was home-made and extremely tasty; the minute steak toasted sandwich and fries served alongside it in hardly any time at all. The toilet, like the rest of the establishment was sparklingly clean. When the time came to return to the pier to catch a ferry across the Clyde, the staff were more than happy to summon a taxi to the door within minutes.

Booked for Sunday Lunch yesterday. Wow, what a change from the lack lustre post-Covid experience found in many other restaurants these days. Too many eateries still blaming Covid on high production costs and serving ridiculously small portions for increased prices. Contrastingly, The Osborne served a delicious Lamb Roast (my husband had Beef Roast, also delicious), with a bountiful Yorkshire Pudding, very, very good, and sizeable Roast Potatoes, and a very homely amount of Carrots, Broccoli, French Beans and Cauliflower together with plenty of tasty Gravy. The food was good and hot and remained consistently hot throughout eating. Plenty of lamb and beef. Two Course Menu for £23.00 each. For Dessert we thoroughly enjoyed Warm, moist, beautifully filled, Chocolate Fudge Cake with a beautifully creamy vanilla ice cream and Sticky Toffee Pudding (amply covered in decadent Toffee Sauce) with ice cream too. The members of staff ALL felt like family to us. Nothing was too much trouble at all. The hospitality shown towards was outstanding in every way. Amazing panoramic view to rest our eyes upon. Wonderful afternoon. Thank you, all concerned; those in front of house and Elliot, the Chef and his assistants. Looking forward to our return already, perhaps for every future Sunday Lunch Xx.

Thank you to the lovely people at Eat Street at the Stadium - they went above and beyond to make battered fish and French fries for me - different from their current daily special of breaded fish- excellent customer service. Food was delicious! Thanks a bunch guys - great little find.

We were staying in the village for a week and ate at The Ardentinny on three evenings, and had excellent meals each time. Well presented and good sized portions. The menu is fairly small, but well varied, with an obvious use of local products where possible. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and it is dog friendly. (Just check their opening hours during the off season) Highly recommended !
