My self, my son and his friend went tonight for fish supper for myself and it was as always delicous, as it was a bit later and few of the other food shops closed there wasn’t a lot of chips, my son and his friends had two boxes made with food and they were over the moon. Thank you so much for accommodating them! The service was fantastic and so was the food. Would highly recommend the food here.

We had quite a big order but really didn't take long food was lovely definitely visit if you want nice chips.

An absolute terrible chip shop food was cold severely overcooked absolutely disgusting as for dike I'm bro instead they telling someone they don't have it they just give you something else instead I am focused on the food avoided and also very greasy but I don't know my friend it's some of the chips we shared sausage supper I gave the dog sausage put the rest in the bin it was that bad🤮

Staff very pleasant, fish and chips really delicious. Prices are fair, and portion size very adequate. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Dunoon.

We were greeted by 3 lovely ladies, and our fish & chips order was taken and processed very quickly and efficiently. The fish was fresh, and the batter golden, crisp, and not too thick. The chips were well cooked, and overall the portion size was generous. We were each given one and a half fish, and plenty of chips. We were thanked for our order on departure. The price was a very competitive £8 per fish supper. We will definitely return on our next visit to Dunoon as this business is well run with good food at a competitive price.

Beware of this place! The workers told us that the chips were fried in vegetable oils, but the owner later revealed that they are fried in beef dripping. No wonder I was kept awake by horrible reflux after I ate here!

Vegetarians and vegans avoid! I am disgusted to learn that this establishment uses beef dripping in the preparation of their chips despite telling me on three separate occasions that they use vegetable oil. After eating chips from this shop last night, my wife and I have both been very ill and, after some digging, we find a facebook post from the owner admitting that beef dripping is used. Lying to customers is bad for business. Lying to customers with dietary requirements is dangerous and could very well get you sued.

The best chips, fish and kig rib I've had...friendly service, generous portions and great value...as well as the most perfectly cooked chips I've had from a chippy in Scotland. Sublime and a real treat

Grabbed a selection of dishes before hitting the ferry. Delicious fish and chips, haggis not bad either. Staff were lovely and even gave me a taster of the deep fried pizza for free!

Fantastic chip shop, cheap kids meal that are perfect size. Will keep coming back. The service is fast and the staff have been lovely every time that I've been there. Can be very busy and can be a queue, but they seem to go through it very quickly.

Best and favourite chippy in Dunoon. Staff are wonderful. Food is perfect every single time. Never have to wait or long even when bust. Food is always warm on delivery. Could never fault them. Best chippy going round here. Would never go anywhere else.

First class service. Used them for years. I took my damaged phone into them at 430pm. I explained it was a business phone and would struggle not having it. The stayed open a wee bit later to hel0 me out. FIRST CLASS SERVICE !!

Excellent quality and convenient

I placed an order for a good old fashioned sausage supper. I didn't have to wait long; the service was prompt, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. They gave me a larger portion of chips than some other chippies, and the sausages were delicious, but the batter was thin and tasteless. The chips were OK, not the worst I've ever eaten but certainly not the finest; some were hard, while others were mushy. Overall, it was satisfactory, encouraging me to return and give them another try. 3 out of 5 stars.

Well I sent my husband down at 5 pm to get fish and chips I was so disappointed the fish was so small and very thin and the chips were cold I was so disappointed as I tell everyone it is the best in the town what a let down it was I am not sure because of the lock down you cannot see what they are putting in the box and what you are getting in the box but not a happy customer I would have thought it was a kids meal we got Tonight

What a way to end our holiday in Scotland, fish was so thick and meaty and chips lovely and fluffy and not at all greasy. Just wish this chippy was in our home town, as we’d be there every week! Definitely as must if you are visiting the area, you will not be disappointed!

food is always good alot of people on this thinking they're a masterchef with their "poor" reviews hate to break it to yous but chippy food is greasy same as every other chippy. Best place to go to for a chippy food is always great no matter what you get and staff are amazing really friendly and welcoming definitely recommended and always make sure we go to this chippy every time we come over

On holiday 18 - 22 10 20 staying at a luxury villa, what with the restaurant restrictions in place decided 2 order in some fish chips etc... this place is absolutely superb, the food was amazing, fish and chips you get around 2 slices each! or similar dependant on the weight, enough for 2 really! the roast chicken massive again enough for 2, mushy peas and cockles amazing... price around £6 each for a supper well worth every penny... definitely recommend and delivery was excellent

Was on holiday in the area, had joked we should have fish & chips on the sea front. Saw Queen Street had excellent reviews and spotted on the menu items we had never had battered before so “when in Rome”’we had to try them out. On a lovely September evening at 5pm was first in the queue to order. Chips, battered haggis, battered black pudding, smoky sausage, battered pizza and curry sauce - massive pig out too much for 2 of us but was a treat. They are CASH only which surprised us in this COVID-19 world and so we had to get some as we rarely carry cash these days, all contactless and ApplePay.We went and sat on the sea front could drive straight down the road from the shop and onto the promenade which had plenty of parking and seats, we watched the ferries and enjoyed trying everything.Smokey sausage was our favorite and we came back again during the week and had more. The curry sauce was fabulous. We enjoyed everything was a good holiday experience.

Just what you want from a chippy. Fish was thick and well cooked. Chips was just right on outside and soft and fluffy in middle!

Service a bit slow but always worth the wait .Huge portions of fish and chips. Opinions tend to be divided as some locals prefer Anselmos but personally have tried all the other ones and didnt rate any of them.Its stuck down a residential street past the Co-op . A lot if people even locals dont know its there! Worth searching out you wont be dissapointed. Ps side order of gravy or curry sauce ,Sublime!

Had a munchie box. The small one but I think I would have trouble eating a large one. It was lovely and there is a choice of dips etc. Definitely will recommend it.

Had a fish supper the potion size is huge. Love the fish its fresh and well cooked. Staff very friendly and good mushy peas!

ok, i was in that "so hungry I could eat a scabby dog" sort of state after a long day outdoors but we all agreed that these were some of the best fish and chips we'd had a long time. Massive portions that we struggled to finish and really freshly cooked (busy Saturday night). Excellent value for money too :)

My Wife and I have been using this chippy every time we stay at Hunters Quay holiday village. The girls who run the chippy are outstanding. I ordered a leg of chicken and received two for price of one due to them being small but they were more than small. We will definitely be back each time we are over. Thank you so much Ladies.

We’re visitors for the Cowal Gathering and I’ve been craving fish n chips since we booked our accommodation. So when we got today’s well prepared boxes back to our condo, we were both struck by the dryness of the fish even though it had a nice crispy batter. I’ve come to the conclusion that the fish filet itself was the culprit as it was rough and small textured unlike the big flaky filets usually presented at a Chippy.Thé frites were big steak cuts unlike my preference but very good. They benefitted a lot from being placed in a dry Teflon frypan over a low heat and so were the tasty, crispy guys I love.The wait was short and the lassies in the shop could not have been nicer or more accommodating: kudos to them.I just think Queen Street Chippy should buy better fresh fish. Just my personal opinion, mind. But next time I’ll try another shop.

This chippy really was brilliant. Although not listed on the menu, they do a kids fish supper with a drink which went down a storm and we had to go back before our holiday was over. Adult fish and chips do not disappoint either. My husband and I had to forfeit some chips as the fish was too good to leave. Fish is battered in a light crispy batter.

Local fish and chip shop. Park down the street in the car park to avoid the double yellow lines outside. Lovely food and big portions. Staff are always bright and friendly. Can get pretty busy about dinner time.

Friendly staff and polite, the fish looks great, a little dark batter but it’s cooked the traditional way in beef dripping mmmmThe fish was tasty and the batter thin, crispy and firm but the chips were pretty horrible and were thrown away, the staff explained they were having issues but to be honest they should not be serving it if it’s rubbish or poor quality as it will effect returning customers.I have had better from here and I will give them another go but I will be expecting free chips or a sample first
