Delicious dinner! I had the venison which I highly recommend.. great drinks and attentive friendly staff. I will definitely be returning.

Had a beautiful evening meal on our first night, and a lovely breakfast on 1st day of opening for breakfasts would well recommend and bonus of free tea or coffee

Another lovely visit to our favourite restaurant. Everything was great and staff are were amazing.

Stayed in the cabins for a week during the summer, ate here most nights and the food was excellent freshly cooked plus the service was exceptional. Been in much more expensive restaurants that couldn't match this place for the quality of food and service. Plus they allow well behaved dogs in which is a great for pet owners like myself.

The Barn never disappoints, fantastic opening times if you can't manage to squeeze into traditional lunch times. Weekly changing menu, tasty wine at affordable prices. Fantastic cooking always fish courses. Speedy service. Going to the Barn is a no-brainer.

Rural, homey atmosphere. It seemed like a locals favorite. Great service. Great food. The duck was wonderful. Worth the short drive.

I had the venison. It was very hot in the room with the fire going.

Disappointed with the food. Macaroni bland. Baby portion same size of the adults. Small macaroni huge plate of chips next to it for £15. Prices to dear for what Is offered. Barn use to be cheaper and food better. The batter on my sons chicken burger over cooked and the half of bougette it came in was burnt. Kids didn't eat the macaroni. Over all service good nice staff. Let down.

Stayed on site where the Barn is and have to say the food was amazing. Visited both nights we were there and both nights the food was fabulous. Catered for a gluten free diet and couldn’t have been more helpful. Also dog friendly Thank you

We visited the Barn twice during our recent stay at Cologin lodges. Both times the food was excellent. There is a good choice on the menu and they use local produce. The crab chowder,venison ragu,and the pork fillet were all amazing. The restaurant was relaxed with a good atmosphere, all staff were friendly and welcoming special mention for Julie and Leanne who served us. If you are in Oban I would highly recommend a visit to the Barn.

Went to The Barn with family and had a great time. As the title suggests it was nearly a five, so it gets five… Our party had steak, duck, Mac n’ cheese and pollock in a bouillabaisse followed by various desserts. All were very good, although the pollock could have done with some bread or spuds… (first tiny tick back from five stars) A well kept local real ale was served and there was a decent wine list for a place of its size. The desserts were very generous and went down a treat. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The other little recommendation is that steak knives should be provided. Absolutely recommended a visit when in the Oban area. Arrive early and take a walk down to the Loch side is recommended too

Really in the middle of nowhere! Lovely staff serving up tasty basic food with a smile. Amazing to be surrounded by fields and sheep yet have quality service with big smiles.

We visited on Thursday having booked the last sitting at 8:30. A nice venue and the staff were very attentive and helpful: they know their stuff about the whiskey. We started with the Haggis Bon Bon’s which were fantastic and the ham hock which was really good. The mains were steak cooked a good medium rare was really nice and the duck, which comes a little pink, which was beautiful, the jus compliments the duck perfectly. Dessert was a lovely ginger and white chocolate cheesecake. The staff then helped me selected two whisky to try. The Rasaay and Benriach both good choices for my preference on whisky. All in all a great meal.

Been here few times and this place never disappoint. Their Crab Chowder or Venison Stew are over the moon. Great service and warm welcome staf. Always looking forward to come back there.

Excellent food, warm atmosphere. The server was so sweet. The venison was tender and delicious. The scallops were SO tasty. The live ale was delicious. Loved this meal!

For medical reasons we were looking for a quiet meal so it was quite a surprise to find ourselves -at 6 pm on a Thursday -walking into a pub full of so many friendly and helpful people. Bit disorientating at first but it turned out this pub is extremely popular with the locals and by Jove you can see why. I'm old enough to remember when all Scottish pubs were like this. Anyway we got seated in the interesting and quirky verandah section which was much quieter. The food was of a very high standard indeed. Service prompt, efficient and friendly. They honestly couldn't do enough for us. Top marks to the Barn and we'd go back there any time.

Very friendly and managed to get a table without booking. Dog friendly too. Menu looked good but we were both disappointed with the Turkey Sunday lunch we chose.

Really enjoyed the food, assume that make the most of fresh local produce, obviously popular as several options got wiped off the board during the evening. Had guest ale and good selection of drinks. Staff were friendly. Busy with locals and people on holiday.

We were staying in Oban but wanted a quiet drink away from it all in the country. This was in the middle of nowhere up a single track road. It was rustic and atmospheric just what we were looking for. Food looked nice post code took us past it so look out for the signs

My partner and I went to the Barn today for lunch. What a lovely place and the food was very affordable and delicious! The service was fabulous. The lady who was at front of house was friendly approachable and very good at her job. Nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was quiet and We both loved it. We are now looking forward to returning on a regular basis. 10\10.

Wonderful food and service, with decent atmosphere. The menu rotates so is not available online, however it had a good selection - including several vegetarian options. Toilets are clean, and there was ample parking. Note it is a single track road for the last mile. Tip: book ahead by calling them if coming at a moderately busy time and wanting to eat inside.

What a hidden gem food was amazing all cooked to order. Bar staff and front of house were amazing great knowledge of food and drinks nothing a bother can't wait to come back well done guys for your hard work. Karen and Carol oh and willow sorry for the little piddle willow had 😂❤️❤️

This small bar / restaurant is a must if you are staying in Oban or at the lodges ... staff are so friendly and food is awesome...

We are driving around Scotland and found this perfect place to enjoy a Sunday roast. The place is cozy and nice and the owners very welcoming. We are definitively happy we have been able to find such a lovely place.

Roast beef was delicious, as was the nut roast and great service to boot. One of the only places we could find that offered a roast with a vegetarian option too

Absolutely the best restaurant we went to in Oban! Every dish was deliciously prepared. Our server was the nicest gal in town! She made us feel so welcome with impeccable service! We tried several dishes and everything was excellent! The desserts were beyond incredible!! Such a fun & friendly vibe, clean and a place you just felt so welcome. The Barn is our "go to" restaurant in Oban! You will not be disappointed!! ❤️

The food here is out of this world. We called in without a reservation on the off chance. Staff where very accommodating. & our dog was just as welcome. I Had a couple of pints of the local brew as well. We will definitely be calling again.

It's a bit out of town but worth a trip if you've got a dog to walk and like decent pub grub. It's quite rustic but there's a good atmosphere when it's busy and new owners have recently taken over.

Lovely warm atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. The food available was exceptionally well prepared and presented. Nice choices that are not "run-of-the-mill" so you feel you have to come back and try something else you maybe also fancied, the next time!. Highly recommended.

Visited here for lunch today whilst staying with our lovely friends who live locally. Between us we had soup , muscles , steaks , lasagna , biscoff cheesecake and marmalade tart and drinks . Each course was delicious and well presented. Portion size was generous. The biscoff cheesecake was perfection! Prices are good. Lovely friendly service and warm and cozy with log fire which was topped up several times. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a delicious lunch in a lovely atmosphere. 🥰

Discovered this place on Sunday . Fantastic food and a great location . My wife loves a Sunday Roast and there were three choices , beef , pork and for vegetarians a nut roast. All freshly cooked and well presented. I think that this is one of the hidden gems for food , and drink in Argyll. Definitely be back.

Just great! Lovely Sunday roast and as a vegetarian, i rarely say that! Great for kids too, they have the same choice but can have a 1/2 size. Very friendly team

Had dinner at The Barn tonight, excellent meal. Sunday roast was delicious, beef stroganoff amazing. AND, the sticky toffee pudding….scrumptious. Beautiful setting, friendly staff and a varied menu makes the trip worthwhile. Single track road with this wee treasure at the end.

This restaurant is well worth a visit. We had a wonderful Sunday lunch with crispy roast potatoes, homemade Yorkshire puddings, fresh vegetables and perfectly cooked pork and beef. The Scottish cheeseboard introduced us to an interesting variety of different regional cheeses which were complimented by a glass of port. The host is very friendly and accommodating offering advice on local places to visit.

Great food, very friendly staff. A must if you're in this area, just outside Oban. We'll worth a visit!

We really enjoyed our meal at the barn with our children. they had lovely fresh food from the children's menu and we had steak and langoustine for the adults, both of which were locally sourced and delicious.

You definitely need a car to find this restaurant - tucked away down a single track road about 3 miles from Oban. There is plenty of parking. When we arrived it was very noisy and busy- with lots of people from the chalets at the...

Fabulous find. Just 2 miles south of Oban. We treated ourselves to a 3 course lunch and it was fabulous. We chose the main menu but cheaper options are available. Freshly prepared food, beautifully presented by friendly staff. Even a wee play park for the children.

We were a tour group of about 18 people and I think everyone truly enjoyed their dinner here. My meal was an absolutely delicious bowl of local mussels as an appetizer and a most appealing looking and tasting ratatouille tart and potatoes for entree . This local pub has the friendliest owner and such a fun young staff.

In den Highlands gelegen, nur durch Zufall gefunden. Leider hatten wir nicht vorbestellt, es war voll besetzt. Am nächsten Tag hat es dann mit Vorbestellung geklappt. Tolles Essen, kinderfreundlich und mit Hunden war auch ok. Wir kommen wieder!

We found that our planned dining location was booked for the evening and were lucky enough to see this place on a sign as we headed south of Oban proper. We arrived shortly before a tour bus and we were seated immediately, which was great....

A nice lunch out with family in a relaxed atmosphere. Great staff, food and environment. Yorkies were a bit overdone but oherwise all was oerfect!

If I was able to rate it higher I would. The staff and guests are on another level of courteous, lite chats with everyone any everyone with a story to tell.

gorgeous food & atmosphere, we spent last week at cologin & ate in the bar 3 nights & sampled most of the menu between 4 of us. Highlights for me were the mussels (the best in Oban), the venison stew & the steak - the onion rings were perfection 👌🏼 everything was fresh & home made & it was very full & happy bellie's all round. Julie could not have been more helpful & hospitable & and Angus is a wizard in the kitchen - I cannot wait to be back to sample what's next!! 10/10

Visited the barn on previous stays in the area and really pleased to see it up and running again with a fresh look but still retaining that country pub feel. Staff very welcoming and the pub is dog friendly with our springer getting a drink...

Under new ownership at the moment...food was lovely...lady at front of house was very attentive, friendly and welcoming..the dog loved it...first time here but will definitely be back

Excellent food amazing staff, highly recommended

Tucked away, a small quiet bar/eatery. Ordered mushrooms with garlic and cheese, very tasty. Then Ordered scallops with veg. Scallops were good but the veg was still frozen so they were binned. Staff gave us 2 free drinks but I was looking forward to a decent meal. Reasonable prices. Wouldn't visit again.
