Exellent restaurant. We were four good frinds and had Langustine, Oysters, Mussels and fish and chips. Their staff was very service minded and friendly. We are from Iceland and grew up with fish of high quality. We can confirm that the fish they serve here is of the best quality 👍🇮🇸

Our second visit to Oban and third visit to the Fish House. Excellent in every way. We booked two weeks before arriving in Oban. We met a couple leaving the restaurant and they said you have got to eat here the food is excellent. We already knew this hence our return visit. It was so hard to choose what to eat. The menu had so many delicious items. The fish was beautiful, so fresh, delicious and beautifully cooked. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable regarding the menu. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the view is amazing. We will definitely be going back again.

A large restaurant right on Oban pier. There was an extensive menu including venison and beef but you’d be mad not to have the fabulous fish. We had smoked haddock chowder to start and salmon with pesto and Parmesan crust, absolutely delicious. They have a lunch time menu of 2 courses for £21.99, very good value. We also saw an Italian couple have the sharing platter of fish and shellfish, and the staff moved them to a table for 4 to give them more room! Staff were really friendly and made everyone welcome. Only downside for some people was a very steep staircase to get into the restaurant. Possibly no disabled access.

A restaurant specialized in fish food, with a hard working, friendly staff. Delished food and fair prices. And a real bonus is the view over the harbour.

Fantastic lunch of sea food. The mussels were fresh with a lovely sauce, and the trout was delicious. Prices were reasonable, and the staff were polite and helpful. Just one niggle. We would prefer to tip the staff personally rather than having it added to the bill !

Excellent dinner here during one day stay in Oban. We didn't have reservations but they could seat us for late dinner. While waiting we walked up to McCaig Tower and along the boardwalk which was very pleasant.

Excellent address! Both the starters and the main dishes and their house cocktails, everything was delicious and we were very well received by very friendly waitresses. It is recommended to reserve your table in advance (at least during high season).

It is better to book for dinner, we had a long wait. Pleasant and available waitresses as well as the manager. Delicious salmon trio! Everything looked really good anyway.

I'd happily dine here every week if I could! It's our go-to for a seafood dinner. The 2 courses for £21 (or £22?) is dependable and they don't scrimp on the quality for this menu. They have a specific gluten free menu which includes the battered haddock and fish tacos. Service is always very friendly and professional, the interior is cosy, and if you are near a window you get a good view of the ferries coming and going.

This was a good restaurant with great service and nice atmosphere. Food was great but it overshadowed by the seafood we got from Seafood Hut right outside this restaurant. I ordered oysters and Oban 14yrs. Thinking oysters would be as good as the ones from Seafood hut. But it was just another average oysters. The ones from seafood hut is fatter and milkier, and you will taste the freshness. The one i got from here were at the edge of they should be serving… and X 1.5 price higher… Nonetheless I enjoyed our dinner with my family very much. The main server who sounded like he is either Italian or Spanish? was an amazing host, so as other ppl who help us our dining experience. Thank you so much for your service!! Absolutely fantastic. The service, the food, the experience. Wish I lived closer, so I could go more often but Canada is a good hike.

Haddock was fresh and cooked well. Chips a bit disappointing.

Amazing fish cooked with attention and coming from local seas. Service discrete and available. And a splendid view of the seas from the large window. Price in line with the quality.

Booked early afternoon for the evening. On arrival the girl remembered my first name and gave us a warm welcome. Lead us to a seat at the window overlooking the bay. The whole place had a great atmosphere. Ordered food and wine which was fantastic. The bill was very reasonable worth every penny. Would recommend this place to anyone. Can't wait to go back

When we arrived, it was not a clearly signed entrance because if you arrive from the wrong angle, you end up walking up some rusty old stairs to an emergency exit. When we did get inside we were greeted well but then they made it very clear that you had to leave your coat and umbrella in the communal foyer area which didn't fill us with confidence that other diners wouldn't walk out with your coat. If that's the policy, then an appointed cloakroom would be better. The waiting staff were very good, friendly and attentive. The smoked trio of salmon starter was absolutely delicious and represented great value for money. The halibut main was generous and had a lovely texture and flavour to it. The peas and mash didn't overpower the dish and represented a nice ensemble. The giant black prawns were just that...huge and delicious, but expect to get messy whilst eating it. The espresso to finish was good. The atmosphere had references to the aquatic world and had good views of the harbour and the boats coming in. This is without question the go to restaurant in Oban and they don't need to worry about any competitors. It's in a class of its own, not a pretender. Altogether a pleasant experience and definitely worth a second visit.

Good food but felt really rushed. Brought the bill without us asking, even though I was still finishing my glass of wine. Then came over very quickly to ask if we wanted to pay. There were quite a few tables so they weren't really busy. We paid then a few minutes later another staff member came over and asked us if we'd paid. Wasn't a nice experience and although the food was good, wouldn't go back. Will probably go to back to EE-Usk next time we're in Oban

I would give 10 stars if I could! Located on the pier with amazing views, freshest seafood you could get, the staff is friendly and helpful in making choices. The oysters were perfect - I came here 6 years and the quality remains to the highest standard. It can get busy so reservations are recommended. Good variety of wines and cocktails.

Truly an amazing experience. The food was delicious, the service friendly and the music brought up good memories. It's a pity we didn't have cash for a tip, sorry about that :(

We stopped by for dinner. We managed to get a table even though we didn't have a reservation and the place was full. The service was great. We really liked all dishes we tried: smoked trout, salmon and scallops.

We highly recommend this restaurant! Ideally located on the port with a pleasant setting, we were so well received the first time that we returned the next day. Very good value for money (the salmon and mussels are more than validated). Special mention for the staff who took great care of us, very accommodating, smiling and pleasant!

Amazing food - we ordered the surf & turf and salt and chilli squid for starters, and grilled cod with pesto veg plus wagyu beef burger for mains. Enjoyed every bit of it and will definitely come back for more. Staff was great and attentive.

The food is superb and being right in the harbour you can watch the Calmac ferries coming in and out.

We took advantage of a table with a view of the bay. It's hushed. We tasted an excellent seafood dish (oysters, salmon, herring, crab, salmon rillettes and salads). Very clean toilets

We were staying in the area on holiday and booked in advance a table for 4 people, we were seated next to a very hot radiator but the staff were very quick to resolve, very friendly service and lovely food, nice busy atmosphere for a Tuesday night and nice views as well.

Portions are small, food quality is bad and service forgot our order. The view was nice until the ferry parked itself on front of our noses. At 10pm we were ushered out of the garden.

I had planned to eat close to the railway station so that I wouldn't be rushing around to find the restaurant's precise location. It was in sight as soon as I walked through the railway station gates. There was plenty time so I got some photos and videos nearby before lunch. I already knew which starter I would choose. It would be the Trio of Smoked Salmon. For the main course I changed my mind and opted to be adventurous, choosing the Half a Lobster 🦞 Cold. It was not a my preferred method of eating, and it seemed wasteful, but the food was good. Importantly, the food would work well prior to a visit elsewhere in town. I also liked the name of the drink (Pinky Promise). If eating seafood is for you (and there were many in the restaurant on the day I visited) I can recommend the place. It is in a prime location with a good view from inside.

Weekend in Oban. Booked for one night but it was so fabulous we went back the following evening. Food is just amazing, staff are wonderful and from all over the world. Just can't praise this restaurant enough. We'll definitely be back 👌❤️

Couldn’t book online as a group of 3, but when I phoned the helpful guy took the booking no problem. We dined on a busy Saturday evening and had a lovely table with waterfront views. We tried the Scallops, Salmon & Crab cakes, and Smoked Trout to start all delish and all good sizes and well presented. For mains two of us had local salmon on roasted pepper mash (stunning) and one had a giant bowl of langoustine which were amazing. We shared the cheese board and chocolate and pear tart for dessert along with a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir (Romanian - never tried their wine before will look out for it again). Highlight of the visit though was how lovely friendly and engaging every staff member was. The lady who brought the wine was very entertaining as was our waitress who took the orders. Very well organised restaurant absolute credit to every staff team member.

All our choices were delicious but visually, the giant banarly black tiger prawns left the table ...stunned. They were monsters. A suggestion would be; to enhance the prawns by adding a small dish of the spiced garlic butter for dipping. A great experience had by all. Thku.

Excellent! The burrata salad had a lot of burrata in it. The Hake was well seasoned. Great value.

Friendly service but the energy was very chaotic at rush hour causing mistakes with our order. The food was overpriced and blunt. Having said that I don’t think it gets much better than that in Oban.

The premises are good, clean, and with overview of the harbour. Staff was mainly very young and quite untrained. Food came quickly which indicates pre-cooking. Which can explain overdone fish dishes, all 3 of them. But the local mussels in Chardonnay and broth were great. Ingredients was of good quality but e.g. vegetables were not properly trimmed but came with damages. The white wine was served way too chilled so flavour and taste weren't released. Because of these experiences we skipped desserts, etc. High prices vs. execution My comments are by international standards. This restaurant is not worth a trip. But if you are in Oban, without high expectations, it is OK.

This place is a top-class fish restaurant. Quality is very good, slightly overpriced, but reasonable. It could be quite crowded inside, and one needs to book in advance if there are more than two people in the party.

Booked solid, good view of port, seating area good, allergy aware, starters came out relatively quickly, oyster was ok, but the creamed seafood soup was not good. Very creamy but seemed like the seafood had been cooked separately and later combined with the creamy sauce. We were offered desert before our main course arrived - apparently order lost in kitchen. Very apologetic manager tried to make amends by getting main courses out as soon as possible and didn’t charge us for food. Apart from the manager most of the staff seemed very new and/or inexperienced. Main course fish was ok, but some of the vegetables it was meant to come with were missing. My main course came with a strange drenched salad.

The food was superb. We had the mussels, trio of smoked salmon and sea bass. The sea bass was particularly well-cooked. Highly recommend this restaurant for its fresh ingredients.

Food was delicious and service was excellent. We arrived 20 min early and they seated us anyway. Toilets are downstairs from the restaurant.

Highly recommended. I tend to give 4 stars in general but this is a 5, as it has delicious food, good portions (this is important) and good price. Plus the service by our waiter Andras was flawless as he cared about the service (the best service we had in 10 days around Scotland). They also do a great price for early dinner at the moment.

My husband and I came here 6 years ago for our first date so it was only fitting we went here again to celebrate 5 years being married. It was very busy so make sure you reserve a table well in advance. The chowder was very delicious and so was the steak I had for my main dish. When I was here 6 years ago the steak wasn’t great so they really upped their game and prepared an amazing dish! My husband had the sticky toffee pudding and I had the cheesecake and I will tell you it was the best cheesecake I have had in a long time! The staff were very friendly and our waitress was very sweet and helpful even she was busy. Thank you for an amazing end to the night waterfront.

Fantastic dinner! Had mussels, seabass, scallops, salmon and prawn, all phenomenal. Only negative was the chocolate pear tart, which I believe was purchased frozen, i would skip that.

Highly recommended restaurant, for the views and the quality of the product. We made the menu, the portions are very generous. We ordered: the fish tacos, the salmon pâté and the mussels as starters; For the main course, the scone cheese with smoked salmon and the salmon with pesto. The mussels and salmon with pesto are especially recommended. The cheesecake is also very delicious!!

We were very surprised by the “seafood chowder”, a creamy and very pleasant soup. The crayfish were quite fresh and the terrine, despite being a bit of a “casting error”, was tasty and not at all gelatinous. The restaurant was quite busy (book a table) and therefore a little noisy, but it offers a panoramic view over Oban.

What a fantastic experience. The service and staff were brilliant. All staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was so fresh and beautiful. I had 3 courses with a class of wine which came to around £62 including service charge (which I was more than happy to pay) and I thought it was very reasonably priced for what I received. I was very impressed with the speed of service. From seating, ordering, serving up 3 courses, to paying up was only an hour. Not to mention the location is fantastic. It was beautiful watching the boats come and go in between courses

A good fish and seafood restaurant on the top floor of a building next to the port. Extensive menu of specialties. We tried their seafood chowder, magnificent clam chowder, fish and potatoes which is a real delight. The mussels with a cream and garlic sauce with fries (mussels and fries) are the best I have ever had. Very busy place and you must reserve a table. Young and attentive service. For the average price area.

We ordered the Venison and beef Terrine (5) and Fish Taco (5) starters followed by the Local Salmon encrusted (4) and Chicken With roasted potatoes (4) Both were flavorful, and plated well but slightly dry. Wondered if they sat too long to be served? Cocktails were nice (4), apérol spritz and Pinky Swear. Service was exceptional, waitress new menu well and often checked on how me was going to bring out next course. Tight seating that was noticeably close to each other.

I really liked my meal here. I had the 1/2 a Lobster which was a special that day and it was very nice. Unfortunately we didn't get a seat with the view but when I caught a glimpse, it looked like one of the best views from a restaurant in Oban. I thought the price was quite high but if you can afford it, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS . Myself and family attended for lunch yesterday and we all wish we hadn’t Service was shocking , waitress was rude and unhelpful , I Must admit the mussels were excellent however all the other food was a combination of overcooked , undercooked, dry, poorly presented and overpriced , £32 for 2 black tiger prawns and they came out like blocks of rubber and £3 for a can of Pepsi from a multipack . All I can say is the other waterfront restaurant looked much nicer and for fresh seafood go downstairs to the green shack. I wouldn’t recommend this place in any way shape or food .

Great food that surprises the palate! A must-have in Oban if you want fresh from the sea. It was an incredible treat! 5 star recommendation for freshness and taste!

Lots of atmosphere. Very busy. Microscopic portions of “artisanal” bread. Family at next table and I both found hair in our food. Sent back and awaiting replacement…not really hungry anymore !!!

Overrated, small portions and poor staff. Just had dinner and as this was meant to be something special it fell short in several areas. We only had a drink each and two courses, with two of us having the early evening menu and it was very expensive for what we ended up having. They forgot one drink and then one of the starters and had to be reminded. The veg on one main was stone cold and so everyone else ate their meals while we waited for a replacement. No one came and did a service check, I had to get up and find someone about the veg. The portions were not great on a few of the dishes and generally too expensive and then to have the tip added without being asked wasn’t ok so asked for it to be taken off - I like to be generous when I tip for good food and service but this wasn’t found here. I wish I’d just gone next door to the whetherspoons! Check out the photo 2 small scallops starter £14.50!

The starter is very impressive, especially mussels. Main dish is just average. Fries are crunchy but the burger is sweet and salty at the same time and the taste is bit disappointing. The experience was good till when I try to make a payment. To avoid wasting food, I asked for take away box and had been told by the lady manager that they don’t provide any take away box due to the seafood restaurant policy. I fully understand the concerns applies to the seafoods even though I wanted to take away beef burger. The part that bothers me is the attitude and the way the lady manager talks which is quite aggressive. Which overall in the end makes the dinning experience bad.

I didn’t find this restaurant very nice. The food was subpar, especially for the price. Half of the staff were unpleasant to speak with and weren’t helpful.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the restaurant. The service was totally stressed right from the start (because of the time slots) and was very unfriendly. I've never had such bad service in Scotland! This was purely mass production and the price-performance ratio was not right at all. At the end, the unfriendly waitress threw the bill on the table without even looking at us. I'll never see this restaurant again, no recommendation, there are much better alternatives.

That was my worst visit to a restaurant in Scotland so far. The service was terrible and totally unfriendly. I've rarely experienced something like that, I've never been served so badly. Everything is way too expensive. The price/performance ratio is an absolute 0.0. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone to visit

Amazing food and very nice and attentive staff. We had a window table with the view of the water, so beautiful during sunset! The seafood was fresh and they had an ENTIRE GLUTEN-FREE MENU with a LOT of choices and they were very cautious of allergies.

The best fish & chips I've ever eaten. The place is very nice, the service efficient and the fish spectacular, it's a shame that like all the places here it closes too early.
