Superb Sunday lunch, great place

The most burnt puff pastry you'll find, not even edible. Service was okay, staff walking away before you're even finished asking what you want. Nowhere near worth the money paid. Disappointing.

Had a fantastic meal here at The Lorne. Place is constantly busy due to the quality of the food on offer. Service was top notch, atmosphere was perfect. Price is around £30 per person for 2-courses and a drink, which is very affordable.

Unbelievably good value for their blackboard offer. A steak panini, fries and excellent cauliflower soup for under a tenner. Everything top notch.

The staff were so friendly and efficient. Food was delicious and a good selection available to choose from. We even got some local sightseeing tips from the staff.

Best Haggis ever try. Awesome haddock and chips. Good price.

This was our third time eating there. - Every two years. The food and the staff fully deserve the five stars. -We will come again.

Came for lunch. Delicious comforting food at an incredibly reasonable price. Staff lovely, atmosphere welcoming, kitchen tidy and clean. Just brilliant. Would happily come again!

Four of us went to The Lorne early Friday evening. It was a last minute booking as we were in Dunoon for a few days and had no idea where to go to! As soon as we walked through the door we were made welcome! The staff were just wonderful as was the food! Outstanding! Can't praise them highly enough...thank you very much. Sally and Tom Walters.

Slight mistake with the order, and only one dog friendly table (in the bar area). Was nice enough and would visit again, but pre book if you're bringing Fido!

Myself and my wife popped in on Tuesday 3rd Sept, I ordered a prawn cocktail which to be fair was more shrimp than prawn , i ordered sirloin and my wife ordered the haggis,both meals came in good time ,chef even whisked up a peppercorn sauce for me without any hint of onion or garlic.My wife managed the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream.Everything was delicious,the service was first class, we would have liked to have stayed a bit longer as the atmosphere was a good vibe.

Friendly service in a nice atmosphere. Food was great, tasty and nicely presented. Reasonably priced. Gluten free and veggie options.

The best place to eat out in Dunoon. Consistent good food and great service.

Unfortunately it's a hit and miss with the prawn linguini as they are either a decent amount of prawns or something like spot the random prawn. I usually have this dish everytime but I will note that for the price you will need it to have a decent amount of prawns for the price.. obviously I will raise my concerns at my next visit as the food is very good and outstanding service and dedicated quality of food presented... just need consistency I think in the quality of quantity but the flavour is always very good..

Great option for food on Dunoon

Best restaurant in Dunoon by far, but make sure to make a reservation before visiting. Top Service and food, very enjoyable atmosphere.

The Lorne is one of the rare Scottish restaurants that combines a very warm welcome, pleasant and fast service, tasty cuisine and all this without breaking the bank. Well done to the whole team and to the perfectly professional chef. I recommend with my eyes closed

Excellent lunch today. Battered haddock with hand cut chips, mushy peas with home made tartar sauce. I asked for the large portion. I was not disappointed. My guest had mac and cheese. Once again, good size portion with a light salad and garlic bread. Both meals piping hot. Unfortunately no room for deserts but will be back as they looked inviting. Staff were very attentive, and polite and welcoming. Excellent value for money. Compliments to the chef who ran a lovely extremely efficient kitchen.

Cozy place. The owner was very kind and very friendly and helpful. The local food is excellent and the dishes are cooked to perfection. Compliments to the kitchen. As Italians we enjoyed it very much.

Awful bacon in the BLT due to temporary supplier, but they took it off so problem solved. Very attentive service.

Went on a wet dull Sunday Service was great.. Atmosphere was good till the drunk guy arrived looking roast potatoes n gravy.. Food the haggis n black bonbons wer nothing special and the whiskey sauce was just creamy girlfriend had salmon pate n said was good though her portion was huge mine consisted of 3 bonbons nd a spoon o needs Main course after a few teething problems with my sides we got there I had probably the smallest mixed grill ever ther was no difference between my pepper sauce or the previous whisky sauce the small piece of steak was not medium but the dogs enjoyed it and the hand cut chips wer wedges girlfriend had chowder and enjoyed it.. she also enjoyed the wine and cocktails Now poodin I had cranachin which was 3 shorties layered with the most minuscule amount of cream and some rasps wasn't the same as cranachin I'd had in other restaurants The pricing was fine The menu was not huge which was good Nice clean looking place

Great for gluten free pub food: they can do gluten free fish and chips, and make any of the sandwiches on gluten free bread. Has a nice beer garden with full table service.

Dog and people unfriendly. Went today for Sunday lunch and initially told one table reserved for people with dogs reserved but could sit outside in beer garden. However, another staff member told us to go away as kitchen was shutting at 5pm. This was at 3.15. They lost out on £65 plus tip that we paid to the Tryst which was welcoming, dog friendly and had fab food 👍

we were in the area on holiday and booked dinner for 6 people, really lovely service, such friendly staff, food was excellent too and very good value for money. The restaurant was busy and had a lovely atmosphere, would recommend.

We booked this restaurant after a recommendation from a friend. They certainly did not disappoint. A gentle 10min walk from the Port where The Waverley docks, the food is second to none. Service was efficient and friendly, the cleanliness was of a high standard and ambience was just right. The courses were served in good time, not rushed. We were spoken through the specials and it was beautiful! Buttermilk chicken with sweet waffles and sriracha - delish. We will def be back next time we take a jaunt Doon the Water.

After a long day cycling, we got back to dunoon to find every restaurant shut or kitchens closed by 9pm 930.The staff here at the corner, while unable to serve us food. Let us place a takeaway order, which they went and picked up for us. It's the little touches like this that make sure you will return. Thank you.

Excellent service. Opened up the beer garden for us on an overcast sunday, made every accommodation for my wife, my corgi and I to enjoy it, Served us great food and drinks, never felt forgotten about even though we were the only ones outside. Friendly, attentative, great experience, will recommend and will be back! 👌

Lovely place. Dog and kid friendly. The staff were really lovely. We got the high tea special. 2 fish and chips with bread and butter. The wee fellow got a cheeseburger which he said was one trillion good.

Amazing dinner, quality to cost spot on loved the Sunday roast, and the cheese cake was amazing, thanks for the hospitality.

Food was of a high quality and a good diverse menu with some vegetarian options. Staff were very friendly and service was fast.

A cracking meal was had here today and yesterday. The tea for 2 deal is amazing and the desserts are out of this world will return 100%. Very accommodating to kids also.

Went here on 2 occasions over the weekend, first for drinks & then dinner. On both occasions the staff were lovely & really looked after us. The food was amazing, the fish platter was outstanding. Cannot recommend The Lorne highly enough.

Had a late lunch today with 2 friends, walked in around 2pm and we were served straight away. Service was brilliant (thanks Greg) and the food was super tasty (thanks Chef). A lovely clean pub with lots of attention to customer satisfaction… what’s not to like? In all, we 3 had a really great time and I’ll definitely be back. :-)

Kelly and the team were all so friendly here! We came from Glasgow to have a look round beautiful Dunoon and we ordered the Cullen Skink. It was actually one of the best I have had. It is right up there with the original from Cullen. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, clean and you can tell everyone is trained highly and enjoys their jobs. Will be recommending this place to friends and family for sure!

Consistently excellent food, drinks and service. Had a great time here on a staff night out recently, likewise a lunch with pals - and this time dinner with the kids. Staff were patient, helpful and attentive. Food was delicious and drinks spot on. A real asset to the town. Remember to bring cash for the tip!

Couldn't find a chip shop or much else in Dunoon for a quick lunch. Stumbled across The Lorne Dunoon. Had fish n chips, absolutely stunning 10/10, friendly staff, worth every cent.

First visit to the Lorne today for dinner with my wife, staff very professional and polite, starter's great, main meal fantastic just wish I had space for the Desserts 😆 they looked amazing. Staff were very attentive but not over pushing, will definitely be back Advice, book before travelling especially after 5pm and weekend's.

We love the Lorne, and tonight was no exception. The food was amazing and really well presented. The girls looking after us were fantastic. Nothing was too much. A great atmosphere, lovely decor. Thoroughly recommended. The menu has something for everyone.

We spent two nights in the Lorne while holidaying in Dunoon. Both were fabulous, we will return.🙂

Went here for dinner one evening. Absolutely superb. Nice setting and great staff. I had Cullen Skink as my starter. It was very rich and gorgeous. I also had the Steak and Ale pie can recommed it. My wife had battered king prawns with sweet chilli dip. Followed by a very nice rich Mac and Cheese.

10 out of 10 everything was perfect

Had dinner at this establishment and got to say it was really good I had a starter and pudding as did my friends Black pudding and Haggis bon bons with peppercorn sauce absolutely amazing My friends had seafood platter Salmon fish cake I had Sticky toffee pudding and ice cream it was delicious My friends had sticky toffee pudding with custard Strawberry and coconut cake and ice cream Portions very good Would highly recommend this establishment, staff were very attentive

Brilliant place to eat! Amazing food, fantastic staff and very welcoming to dogs... our waiter even got our dog a couple of sausages and a bowl of water!

Amazing Sunday lunch! Loved the Yorkshire puddings and the red cabbage was excellent.

Staff were very welcoming and thoughtful, especially with our friend Henry who has Downs Syndrome and needed a quiet table.

In the area for the day so dropped in for lunch, is was quiet as it was lunchtime, the reastaurant and bathrooms were spotless. Both myself and my partner had a steak salad. It was delicious so will be back if in the area again.
