A wee gem in an unexpected location.

We reserved a table for Sunday brunch on the recommendation of our holiday let. And if iI could give more than 5 stars, I would. Fantastic breakfast, excellent service and proper dog friendly. The baked harrisa eggs were out of this world delicious. Freshly cooked, fluffy pancakes with bacon also superb. The selection of cakes disappeared rather quickly, especially the caramel shortbread. I can't wait to perch myself on a seat there again soon. Book and go eat.

A lovely friendly place lovely food Possibly the best cheese and ham toastie I’ve ever had with glorious homemade soup Yum !

The food was very good but the place let itself down in that it couldn’t sort the bill properly!! We left thinking we had paid only to be chased down the road saying we owed money !! It transpired they left half of our order of the bill!! Sad to say it ruined our experience !!

Top cake venue for cyclists, who can be seen lined up outside in glorious Lycra plumage.

Lovely, cosy, friendly place for a relaxed, late lunch. The B L A T is amazing and the staff are very accommodating (I like very crispy bacon). Coffee is great too. If we didn't live so far away (375 miles) we would visit regularly.

Absolutely brilliant little cafe. We unfortunately missed out on the takeaway pizza on Friday evening so made breakfast on Saturday a priority. Had two fantastic full veggie scottish breakfasts, delicious bread and great coffee. Breakfast fueled us for the walk from Garelochhead to Helensburgh, couldn't recommend enough!

Best hot chocolate in the west of Scotland no cap. The atmosphere is warm and nice. Decoration is quite modern and very blue!

Stopped off for lunch at this little hidden gem. Well worth visiting and we had superb lunch. A reasonable menu and I would recommend, staff are friendly and its dog friendly

Exceptional full Scottish breakfast - the best I’ve had in a long time. The hot chocolate was also amazing, apparently they make their own blend. You can tell that they really pay attention to the small details here and it pays off.

The Perch is my safe space away from the chaos of life. Owned and run by a lovely couple supported by their family, the coffee is great, the food is fantastic and it's in a great spot. I bring everyone who visits the area here and they all love it. (Firday night Pizzas are a real treat to!)

Spectacular food, outstanding coffee, a rare find. High quality ingredients, worth every penny. If you get the chance, pay this fine institution a visit. Went with 2 kids aged 2 and under, family friendly.

We had no idea this place existed, although it's in the next village to us, and I believe has been open quite a while. As it was recommended, we thought we'd see what all the fuss was about. I had the hummus with roasted vegetables and home made rosemary focaccia, and my husband had the dhal which was the day's special. Both dishes were extremely tasty, and you could tell that the ingredients used were only the freshest. A first for us, is that we actually had a slice of cake afterwards. What was on offer just looked too nice not to try. We both had a rhubarb and white chocolate cake which had a yogurt like topping. Very moist and tasty. The green tea I had was not a brand I had heard of but it was really tasty and refreshing that I had 2 pots. Whilst there, one table who had just ordered also asked if they could book for Sunday Brunch if they weren't already fully booked! I would recommend anyone who'd like to eat here books to avoid disappointment. This is more than just a Cafe - it serves homemade, honest, wholesome and delicious food. Really looking forward to going back soon.

I discovered The Perch by pure fluke this morning and was absolutely blown away by the quality of the place and food on offer. Staff were welcoming, charming and efficient, they perfectly understood the fine balance of being friendly whilst remaining respectful and professional. My breakfast was faultless. If you’re anywhere near, you must pop in, it’s well worth it.

Lovely place and the food was great

Went to Perch after reading reviews. We were not disappointed. They were lovely to our dog. Food was delicious and you could tell it had been carefully sourced. We all went for the full Scottish breakfast, everything was so tasty, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, toms, haggis, black pudding. Special mention to the potato scones just like my mum use to make. Definitely go if you get the chance and probably book, very busy.

Walked into the warm atmosphere from a cold, wet and windy day. Cappuccinos and eggs Benedict (bacon and the smoked salmon) were really good. Service was fast and friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Our favourite cafe/restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Last year we really enjoyed the Christmas Dinner, BUT tonight it was even better. It is so refreshing to have a Christmas meal which is not just churned out. Every course was carefully planned and cooked and the service was friendly and attentive as usual.

Lovely little cafe/bar in Garelochhead. Snacks and fine cakes. Some outside seating but parking spaces very limited. Conveniently placed for rail and bus. Shops nearby and pleasant walks around the Loch.

Each time I’ve visited The Perch, it’s been an absolute treat - the whole experience is just spot on. A lovely family run business, ensuring care and quality in everything they do from the service, decor and incredible selection of drinks, cakes and meals! I’m still thinking about the Perch Eggs (with smoked salmon) I had a couple weeks ago!

Truly lovely wee spot. Delicious food, friendly staff and guests. Never fails to impress. Says it all that it's not uncommon to see people queuing at the front door at opening time! Hard to beat the quality of the produce and cooking. Beyond that, a variety of cakes on offer also keeps it interesting and well worth returning. The staff are friendly and helpful. Certainly a family feel. The atmosphere is cozy and slightly hipster-ish. All in a fitting and endearing kind of way. All fits together nicely creating a consistent and cohesive experience. Certainly recommend it and while the food and drink are not the cheapest it is certainly worth every penny.

I have had many a lovely breakfast or Lunch at the Perch however tonight I ordered 2 Take away Pizzas and was not disappointed. Easily the best Pizza outside Italy. Quality ingredients ,perfectly cooked.Dont ever leave the area👍

Absolutely loved this place. Warm welcome. Fantastic food, well cooked and beautifully presented. Very fresh and creative. Many gluten free options. Can buy coffee beans used to take away. No wheelchair access.

Really excellent. Sunday around 12:30 it was busy and we had no reservation but they found us a table, thankfully... The eggs with crispy bacon and avocado on toasted sourdough was perfect. Service and atmosphere good. A really excellent spot for brunch.

We were kindly received. The staff was friendly. The prices are good too. Had a delicious cappuccino and coffee. Free water on the table! The food was also really tasty. Very tasty and pure ingredients. Be quick to order dessert, because everyone wants something from the attractive counter. We didn't bring our dog, but they are welcome and we saw treats on the counter!

Completely faultless. Easily one of the best fry-ups I've ever had. The little touches, like a well-seasoned Portobello mushroom, make it obvious that the proprietor is really passionate about serving the highest quality food. The coffee and tea were delicious too, and the service was quick and friendly. I'd make a long detour to come back here again!

Delicious! Breakfast, brunch, lunch and a wee cake are always lovely. Very dog friendly with water available for pups. Indoor and outdoor tables available. Best to book for the weekend as it’s very popular.

Very nice atmosphere. Buf no vegan option for cakes or swert. And only one vegan option on other menus. Quite poor, which is a shame, as quality of everytbingy looks excellent, just no choice if youre vegan!

Visited here on a Sunday morning with the family and had the full Scottish. Maybe on the slightly pricey side compared to other places BUT it is worth the extra. Everything was super fresh, quality and well cooked. Coffee was also great and well made. Cakes were top notch too. A must try if your in the local area and worth travelling for a great breakfast.

Lovely wee cafe we had takeaway coffee and cake and it was outstanding the cake was apple and caramel it was so tasty and moist and the coffee was lovely I wish we had a place like this in dumbarton

Delicious Full Scottish Breakfast

Friendly cozy atmosphere. Sat on the sofas by the woodburner. Enjoyed coffee and generous sized cake portions. Chocolate brownies were melt in the mouth yummy!

In a town with little else, this small independent cafe is a perfect breakfast or brunch stop. There must be something wrong with you if you don't enjoy the freshly cooked food here.

We’ve been to a couple of the evening meals at The Perch and oh my… honestly what a hidden gem! The food is epic - best in the area! The atmosphere and staff are amazing too! Dogs also allowed - just wow!

I stopped in here for 'breakfast' on the way home from a few days away. That was my first mistake. It was approx 11.40am I was informed they were just finishing breakfast and changing to lunch. I asked if they were still doing breakfast, I was informed yes but this would be changing in 10 min. I was offered breakfast but didn't like the breakfast menu they had. That was my second mistake. So I chose from the lunch menu. I ordered a toastie, advertised on the menu with salad and chips and, also ordered a latte. My luke warm latte came approx 10 min prior to my toastie. By the time my toastie came my coffee was finished and as someone who enjoys a drink with there meal i then ordered a black coffee to have with my toastie. My toastie came with a handful of rocket salad leaves with a drizzle of dressing accompanied by a handful of crisps. The toastie was the worst I had ever experienced. It was 'well" toasted and heaven knows what they done to the bread as this was smeared/soiled in some sort of grease. Toastie: the actual bread was as thin as the crisps with a taste that I can only say was as oily as an oil slick . Seriously one of the worst toasties ever experienced. On a positive note, the second cup of coffee (I ordered black as I knew at least it would be warm) was good. I went up to pay my bill, I wasn't asked if I enjoyed my food which in this case was a 'good job' as I wouldn't have held back. Would I go there again: No I certainly wouldn't. Was it value for money: No, it certainly was not worth £9.00 odds - not for 2 greasy slices of 'well done' bread, a very small handful of crisps and a small handful of leaves. The black coffee was very nice but if your thinking if ordering a latte I would ensure you ask them fir a "hot" latte. Very disappointing.

Delicious brunch on Sunday with a Full Scottish breakfast and latte. Fortunately we snagged one of the two outside tables, inside was quite packed. Make a pit stop here on your journey to the highlands!

First visit a few weeks ago and thought it was great. Spacious, friendly staff and some good vegan options. Baby friendly too with high chairs, social space and wooden floors. Very relaxed eating, will definitely be back 😊 * I'm just Rambling Scotland *
