Once again had chance to get out to the Royal Bar for dinner with my wife. Food as usual was first class. Had my favourite the Mac Cheese, my wife had the special. Service and environment was just perfect. Looking forward to next visit soon. Keep up the great work.

What a hidden gem of a place. Stopped here for lunch with friends after mountain biking up in the hills. Fantastic food for lunch and friendly and welcoming staff...... We'll definitely be back.

Having eaten at the Royal Bar several times in recent years, last night we took advantage of the special Valentines Day menu. It was spectacular! The menu consisted of what were described as “small plates” although not huge, two dishes were quite adequate. We both had king prawns in a sweet chilli sauce, with orzo. It was incredible. The flavours and textures were inspired. I also had mushroom risotto which was the best ever and my partner had beef ragu, which he described as “fantastic”. Desert also did not disappoint. Service, as ever, was brilliant with the added advantage of a type of ale that my partner enjoyed a great deal. Very well done Royal Bar team. May you go on to great things.

Always love a visit to The Royal. Great staff and fantastic food & drinks. The festive menu was exceptional today, lovely food and very good value. Cheers.

Excellent bar ,good food and cheery staff with absolutely nothing to complain about atall .the place has a great outlook

Went for lunch with elderly father. Waitress couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Decent pub food, but that's what we wanted

Excellent Dog Friendly pub with good food. Limited menu but everything we had was tasty & good value. Very pleasant staff. Only complaint is that no Real Ale being served.

Visited one lunchtime with a friend. Welcome was very friendly, service excellent and food delicious. I had the steak pie which was melt in the mouth with just the right amount of herbs and seasoning. My friend enjoyed the chicken wrap with sweet chilli sauce. Both dishes came with lovely chips, veg or salad. We both had a soft drink which made the total bill £27. Excellent value, thank you!

What can we say about our experience at the Royal Bar to celebrate except fantastic, we were looked after so well by Laura, Erin and Claire. The food was exceptional thank you Claire and Andrew, great portions and superb value for money. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon celebrating with family.

Went for a couple of walks during the day and in the afternoon to a strool from Dunoon to Innellan. The pub has impressive frontage but the inside has little charm, as it resembles a converted office/working mans club. However, do not let put you off. Thestaff were very nice and there was a good choice of drinks. Having plump for the Guinness and I not disppointed; a very nice pint. The bar menu covers the usual pub fayre, and I had the steak pie with mash and veg; it was marvellous. The bus stop back to Dunoon is right next to the pub so you can literally time your last slurp to the arrival of the bus. If you are in the neighbourhood, it's certainly worth a visit.

On holiday found this place, what a gem. Food was first class, staff very friendly and attentive, had we known it was a dog friendly place we’d have taken our dog with us. We’ll be back before we head back home. Best place we’ve been so far by a mile.

Absolutely beautiful place for lunch and great atmosphere. The family who run the pub/restaurant are lovely and help cater to your needs.

Great service and fantastic food. Been a few times and always love to try the specials. Hate living so far away that I can’t go more often.

A female member of staff was rude and unhelpful as we enquired about the availability of having a family meal today. Yes they were quite busy but the manner of her responses to our enquiries was appalling. That person needs to understand how first impressions are so important to people and in particular people visiting the area. A course in customer relations might be helpful for this individual. We will not be going back and recommend people to avoid this establishment! It ended well though as we went further along the road to the Osbourne where the staff were helpful, accommodating and provided superb food.

Bar menu with a good selection of the usual favourites eg steak pie ,scampi plus a specials board ,friendly staff welcoming atmosphere ,well worth a visit meals available 12 noon to 8 pm .When we were there some folk were just in for coffees and sandwiches.

We attended at The Royal Bar for our Christmas night out and dinner. The food was outstanding and everyone couldn’t rate it highly enough. Very tasty and lots of it. Big compliments to the chef. The service provided by all the staff was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome until being the last ones to leave. Definitely 5/5 as cannot rate it higher. Thank you to all the team.
