Simplemente delicioso.
We had arrived in Edinburgh that day and checked into our hotel. This Italian restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff. We were early for supper (4:00) and the restaurant was quiet. As we left an hour later is got much busier. The carbonara pasta and pizza was excellent. Beer was very good too. Staff were helpful. One of the best meals we had in the UK on our 2 week vacation.
If the restaurant actually existed, it may have been the best ever place we’ve eaten at. As it turns out Shangri La is probably an apt name for a restaurant which is imaginary.
Unfortunately we walked for about a mile and half to discover its been repurposed as a shop.
We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..
This Hotel advertised that it has a restaurant, but on arrival discovered that there is no restaurant, so no evening meals or bar available.
Only self service continental breakfast in the rooms with uht milk.
Very disappointed.
This place used to be good, but it's not customer friendly any more. Breakfast HAS to include black pudding - no substitutions, even though most people don't like the stuff. Perhaps they over ordered. Anyway, it means you either get a rather small breakfast for £9.55 or you get a normal sized one and throw 20% away.
A minor point, perhaps, but shows a particular attitude to customers in general.

We're in Inverness visiting. We found this place using a Google search, great reviews. We drove out of town and we ordered a variety of waffles and some nachos. As we were having a takeaway order they said we could wait in our car whilst they prepared our order. They came out with a bag and our milkshake. We drove back to our place to find we were 2 waffles short and had to drive back to collect. Waffles were great tasting. Nachos not so great as the melted cheese had dried by the time we got back, so all nachos were stuck together. Maybe not an ideal choice for takeaway or delivery. When we returned they were very apologetic and we got our missing waffles without hesitation. Overall good food but let down by service.
We didn't eat in but the restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was good.

Absolute hidden gem. Food is great, staff are lovely, and the ambience is a lovely mixture of comfortable and traditional local pubs.
Great for gluten-free coeliac as well which is surprising for a pub. Gf desert options could be improved is only suggested improvement.
Gorgeous cosy little cafe views of the forth from upstairs. The service was friendly and efficient and both my Americano and parsnip and chilli soup very tasty.
Normally I would give 5 stars due to the quality of the food and service over the past 3 years but unfortunately recently the service has gone down. Last week the guy ( with a woolly hat) couldn't cut salami ( slivers flying off or big chunks were cut- quite funny really if it wasn't food) and the gorgonzola cutting resulted in an unappetising blob ( in addition, his packing was atrocious) but I had patience and smiled with all of that thinking that he was new ( even if I had to tell him to add stickers to prevent the salami from falling out . However this week the same guy was rude and wanted to serve a man behind me, I objected saying I was in a hurry and only needed bread ( I am a pretty chilled lady usually ) and instead of apologising he said said he couldn't get there at that moment due to his colleague being in the way! Not good! I am not sure if I want to return.......
