Lovely, welcoming place. Just a small local pub that has a slightly alternative feel to it.
My only complaint is that the music can be a bit loud at times which make chatting hard.
Was rank, coffee was weak and hair in my pastry.. wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy to be honest. Would recommend Gregg's round the corner in all fairness.
First meal here in Edinburgh from the USA and i am so happy with this experience! Their bread appetizer amazing great quality bread and their 3 dips. my boyfriend and I decided to play it safe with the Haddock and chips. The flavor and freshness of The Haddock and the chips were a great choice but I wish I hadn’t played it safe, I feel like I missed out on other amazing dishes. Definitely will be back!
Had a lovely surprise delivery today of grazing platter and cakes for a birthday treat . Absolutely amazing . Everything was super tasty and presented beautifully.
House for an Art Lover, 10 Dumbreck Rd, Bellahouston, Glasgow G41 5BW, United Kingdom, Scotland
A friend and I regularly visit the Cafe in a morning however
we were later and went for lunch, what a disappointment a
toasted sandwich had to be sent back as it was burnt and
looked very unappetising I did complain and chose something
else however I would expect something better from the chef
who is representing the House for the Art Lover, it is such
a lovely inviting eating place however the food is lacking!
Thankfully the pizza was very good as the service wasn't.
Employee behind the counter shouted at me "Menu is on counter then order online". I said "But I'm here". Surely I don't have to order on my phone while standing at the counter? What he meant was order on the touch screen.
My order was easy as I only wanted one pizza but as I stood trying to figure out the screen another employee stood behind it staring at me. Once I'd paid, my order printed out and he grabbed it to take to the kitchen. Wouldn't it be easier just to ask what I wanted?
I only had to wait for 10 minutes then he shouted "Pizza", threw it on the counter and turned away. I stood for a moment to say thank you but eventually gave up and left.
Won't be back
We were staying at Monturpie caravan park in our Motorhome. The food in the restaurant is amazing, we visited for lunch and dinner. The views from the site are breathtaking and Duncan and the staff are very friendly and helpful, we will definitely return.
We had an afternoon tea for Emily’s upcoming birthday. Wonderful selection of sandwiches sausage rolls, scones and strawberry tarts as well as numerous tray bakes and jam and cream. Absolutely delicious
