Had gone into another cafe along the road which was really busy and couldn't give us a table for 15 minutes. It was cold out and there was nowhere to wait so moved along. This place looked nice and did simple lunch-type food which is what we were after. Although quite busy they had a spare table. Ordered a couple of soup-toastie/panini combos and a tea and coke zero. Both the soup and sandwiches were excellent. If I'm out that way again I'd definitely go back for lunch. Much better vibe and food than any of the fast food options.

Having been offered mediocre coffee in paper cups in the north of Scotland and charged £3.90 it was a deligh to return home to our Borderlands and revisit Diggory. The owners ever welcoming, the cappuccino a work of art and delicious as are the tray bakes. We were surrounded by folk happily enjoying full meals. Highly recommended.

This is a busy coffee shop in a beautiful town. However, the furniture, while looking clean, was sticky. Service was slow. I am also concerned about the sandwiches. They were prepared without disposable gloves or obvious cleaning of hands and location. If you have dietary restrictions (medical, cultural, religious) I don't see how cross contamination could be avoided. I might be wrong, but it didn't look good.

We stopped in on a drizzly visit to Haddington. Staff were very accommodating, finding a suitable table for our family, including my elderly mother and making us feel welcome. We ordered tea, hot chocolates, soft drinks, panini & a pulled pork toastie. All were served quickly and to our request (one picky eater in our family group, so no onions, salad etc), and all were very tasty. The hot chocolates were fabulous too, and all a very reasonable cost. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Haddington.

I love this place. I received a warm welcome. I ordered my food and Espresso which arrived very quickly. The Panini was quite delicious, as was the accompanying salad. The coffee tasted just great. I was filled up just right. The music was at just the right level and everyone was so encouraging, positive, happy and polite. There was a good choice of food and drink. I really liked how there was no taste of chlorine in the glass of tap water I had. I shall return for sure. 10/10 A1+

We have walked past this cafe numerous times and it’s usually busy so we end up going elsewhere . This time ( a Friday ) there was an empty table by the window so we went in and the staff sanitised it for us to sit at It’s very friendly and welcoming, comfortable, clean + Covid safe . You order and pay at the counter and they then bring your order to the table . Husband had some soup ( apparently it was lovely ) I had a coronation chicken sandwich which was very nice and came with crisps and a bit of side salad . We ordered flat whites too and I was asked what size cup I’d like and how many shots ? I asked for the small size and 2 shots but it was actually quite a large cup . Depending how you like your coffee I think the barista there would make it exactly how you asked ( possibly can ask for a smaller cup for the flat white ) The coffee blend was very nice and they were happy to bring us glasses of iced water as well

Where do all these certificates of excellence come from. This was awful from beginning to leaving. No customer service , unfriendly, rudeness, a very poor menu and general unwillingness to help. We were made to feel as serving us was a burden . 2 coffees and 2 cakes. The cake was dried out, the coffee reheated. And overpriced compared to competitors. Where it gets the good reviews from is beyond us. Probably one of the worst cafe experiences in last 5 years. Sorry .just dreadful.

Found staff unfriendly and very unhelpful. I hadn't visited the cafe before so didn't know if it was table or counter service, server was a bit sharp when I asked. I asked for a bacon roll but was told that this is not on menu. I noticed that there was bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches on sale so I asked if these were pre-made or if they would be made fresh. I was told fresh so I asked if I could have a bacon sandwich ie a blt minus the lettuce and tomato, mmmmm I suppose so!

On a recent holiday to Haddington to visit my daughter and familly my wife and I were on an afteroon walk in the town and went into Diggory's cafe for an afternoon snack. The place was busy but we got a table for two and from then on until we left everthing was as near perfect as one could get in a cafe. We ordered our choice and almost immediately my wife's tea and my coffee were served. My cup of café latte was more like a huge mug and was perfectly heated (not boiling hot as some cafes provide) The sandwiches came not much later and again were perfectly made and very decent quantity size. The café was very busy but as soon as people left, the tables were cleaned immediately and reset for the next customers which, when we were there, was almost immediately. Certainly a place to revisit on my next time in Haddington

Called following all the good reviews. Sandwiches and drinks were OK but nothing special. Staff were pleasant and clearly had a lot of loyal trade. Service was prompt and price fair. Menus were rather worn. Panini promised chips and salad on the menu but crisps and salad arrived. Tea pot for one gave only enough for 1 and a half cups. Plaque on the wall stated it opened in 2012. Menu reported it opened in 2015. Wall paper was severely worn and scuffed from chairs rubbing against it which gave the place we don't care look. So disappointed.

We have lived in Haddington for a year now and I hadn’t gone into Diggory’s as I would just notice it in passing. After hearing it was such a lovely place I decided to mooch in one morning and do a spot of work as it meant I could check it out for the kids - without the kids. Great menu of not loads of stuff but super tasty food which is what you want (tick) comfy area with lots of kids books and gentle toys - nothing that flashes and screams - (tick) toilet without hand dryer (big fat tick for terrified toddler) and - my all time favourite- fantastic customer care; friendly, kind to my children, humouring me and my fantastically thigh slapping wit.... (tick, tick, tick) we now go all the time. My 3 year old loves playing dominoes safe in the knowledge that he won’t get killed by a hand dryer when he needs to go for a wee. Let’s face it, we all feel better knowing that too.

We had reason to visit our Council Offices and thenwanted a lunch. We saw this place and their bill board which advertised, amongst other things, baked potatoes. These are a fall back for us in any town which we are unfamiliar with and,as it was raining, we made dash for it. There a limited number of tables but we found oneas the previous group left. We also offered a spare chair to a lady who came in after us for a quick bite, We ordered a cheddar cheese (my wife) and chilie con carne (me) baked potatoes at the counter and they were brought to our table when ready. The potatoes were large and came with a salad garnish - perfect for a light lunch - rounded off with a pot of tea each. We both cleared our plates and felt sufficiently full for the time of day. We would frequent again if we are down that way.

The coffee was excellent (choose the size of cup you want) and the scones were also delicious - both fruit and cheese varieties. The cafe serves a variety of light meals and drinks and prices are very fair. We would definitely return here.

Literally just got up and walked out after reading the menu prices. We were here last summer for lunch, had one of the best bowls of Cullen skink soup to date, came back specifically for that today as in the area, only to find that for one bowl of soup as a starter was £9.95 or for a large bowl of the same is now priced at £15.95! FOR A BOWL OF SOUP! I know it’s a tourist hotspot, but take off your Dick Turpin masks No 12!!

Absolutely fantastic as always, both servers were brilliant. Food was outstanding as always. Even although the place was not busy the atmosphere was brilliant. Really enjoyed the flat iron steak it was so tender. Thank you everyone involved

We were at the Cafe , however, wandering through all the different routes in Cockenzie House is lovely and some lovely things to buy too. Plants on sale from 1000-1600 and gardens were bright and inviting.
