Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff.

Casual cafe attached to the House for an Art Lover. Came here for breakfast with a friend and ordered a roll with an egg and potato cake as well as English breakfast tea. They gave us ketchup and brown sauce as sides. The cafe is cute and has indoor and outdoor seating. The restrooms are shared with the museum but you don’t need to go to the museum to eat at the cafe. It was a very casual vibe and I liked hanging out here.

Lovely building, food really nicely presented and delicious staff very pleasant and helpful.

Had a voucher bought for us for afternoon tea which we used yesterday. I'm very glad we didn't pay ourselves for the food, it was a very skinny afternoon tea. Two sandwiches each, a slice of sausage roll (which was delicious) a savoury choux bun with a cheesy filling, a tiny scone each with one tiny pot of jam & cream to share, & a nice selection of cakes. It tasted nice but £19 each for that! I've had more for a lot less money. We also had to put more money to the voucher as afternoon tea had gone up since last October 🤦🏼‍♀️ On the plus side it's a gorgeous place & the staff were great.

Absolutely love having lunch here. The staff are very accommodating. The food is great, not your usual menu, always something a bit different and exciting.

Afternoon Tea - so overpriced @ £19.25 each. Ciabatta sandwiches (2) and sausage roll (1) both dry. Scone (with only one very small pot of cream and jam between 2 people) was light, crusty and tasted artificial. Selection of cake treats on the top - just passable. Reality does not match any of the previously submitted photos which show normal sandwiches, quiche tarts, 2 pots of jam and cream. Obviously cuts have been made, or the kitchen team has changed. Any refill of tea/coffee charged extra. No hot water with pot of tea - had to ask. Service very slow, to almost non existent. Too busy packing up to attend to last seated guests. Won’t return or recommend. Why did I give them even 2 stars? This review was based on both standard and vegetarian options.

Service in here is truely poor, seems very poorly managed. No orginisation or structure to servicing tables such a shame too as the food was great when we got it.

Celebrating a 60th wedding Anniversary,enjoyed our lunch,staff were attentive and our parents were very relaxed and had a lovely time.😀👍.

It was absolutely amazing, beautiful scenery, the vibe of the place was amazing and really warm. Only thing was we felt rather rushed when we came in to order, and our server was a bit dull. But other then that it was a really good

Really slow serving coffee. Other than that everything perfect. Probably need another barista or two. All staff were very nice.

I’ve been to the Art Lover’s cafe twice in the last couple of weeks. The service was fantastic and both meals were excellent. An absolute hidden gem - I’ll be back again soon!

Visited for an afternoon tea, was lovely in a fantastic setting. The food provided for two of us was more than enough and we loved all of it. The staff were careful to both remember and take into account my wife's allergy to cream providing her with a slightly different selection. Highly recomended.

The cafe is great and worth visiting. The place reeks of opulence, not luxury, but below it. All white and great features. Food is good, esp the breakfast. Go for a casual walk in the park and catch up with all your friends.

Over priced full breakfast with poor quality produce and small portion. Tasteless -waste of money. at the price there should be mushrooms, tomatoes. hash browns etc but their poor offerings would be forgiven if good produce was served instead of cheap produce.

We bought a voucher for two breakfasts which were okay for the money but didn't include drinks. My poached eggs were firm and the toast was like warmed bread. My husband ordered fried egg and got scrambled. We won't be using again.

I used to visit here quite a lot but something has changed. Visited today at approx 11.30 I wanted to sit outside with my dog. Two waitresses where putting out menus etc. One of them told me i had to order inside "Self service only " I told her i couldn't leave the dog alone and she just said I should tie him up - I though her to be a bit crabbitt. The other waitress meanwhile arrived with a smile and a bowl of water. Whats the point of having no table service ?

Wonderful welcoming spot to enjoy some good food and coffee.

The fries are skinny and nice! We also really liked the peach tarte tatin, combination of peach and raspberry was supreme.

Phenomenal breakfast, lovely place to visit. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely wonderful . My daughter and I had a super afternoon tea here today. Food was superb and my daughter had the vegetarian option which she said was lovely. Food great, very attentive friendly staff. Faultless . We would definitely recommend

Love coming here on the sunnier days. Food is excellent & service is prompt. Come here a few times through the year.

It may look like a regular muffin from the outside, but this breakfast muffin is surprisingly moist and light. Almost unsweetened with minimum oil, like the ones I’d make for myself. I truly appreciate the effort to make healthier food. My friend said the breakfast roll was the best she’s had. Coffee is alright. The place is beautiful in the spring sunshine.

Not a comprehensive enough menu.

Love this place but suggest they revisit their scone recipe. Huge but very dry. Sorry to say that’s twice I’ve been recently and wasn’t impressed. Everything else is lovely. Staff friendly and attentive.

The decor is very Christmassy now.. I ordered hot chocolate and cake of the day which is cranberry and orange (not the one in the pic) sooo good. The staffs are also friendly and tentative. I will visit and try the food next time.

Great cafe ...but actually a bit more than a cafe. Serving a good range of breakfast items till noon and plenty more substantial meal options ; perhaps best suited to lunch / late lunch. Lovely attentive staff and a pleasant calming atmosphere despite the number of folk there. Booking recommended.

Fabulous meal for a family of 10. The food was outstanding and the service was absolutely perfect from staff of 4 who were smiling and super attentive. They helped produce a wonderful afternoon for me and family. Main waitress Emma a champion.

"Higher than thou" manager who is aggressive and rude to customers. Avoid

The waiting staff were helpful and friendly. The steak ciabatta and fries were delicious. There were an array of cakes on offer though I managed to resist. A lot of tables were having a traditional afternoon tea which I would plump for on my next visit.

I rated it 1star 3 years ago and nothing's changed. I ordered a take away cappuccino - it was far too hot it burned my tongue. I asked for another - nice - I was given another for free. Not as hot, but still too hot to be frothy as cappuccino should be (over 160 degrees milk is burned not frothy). So basically I got shots of coffee in a milk hot as hell. Couldn't be bothered to come back, because in this place it's pointless. Next time I'll decide to waste almost £4 I probably buy a scratch card. Please, give your staff proper training on how to make coffees.

The cafe refused to serve us today, no explanation why. Not closed as it was in the morning on sunny Saturday and only a few tables taken. They might have been waiting on a party of tourists, but this is an example how to put locals off.

Good wee cafe, plenty of space, nice clean bathrooms. Giving five stars because the staff really are super nice. Makes a big difference to a place having such welcoming and helpful staff. However the kitchen was shut at the time of the visit so it was just cakes (which is what we were after anyway) meaning I can't comment on quality of food. Cakes we did have were moist and delicious - but I would say they're lacking in options for chocoholics!

Service is second to none. The ambience is wonderful.

The food here is good but unfortunately since covid and like many other restaurants it is working on a much reduced menu which is not as good as pre covid. We did enjoy what we had but I was a little disappointed. Staff are very friendly and efficient.

Had a lovely day here at the Park. Pity The Palace of Art was closed. I love the Cafe and grounds round about. Just had to take a picture of this lovely tree. This is my second time at the Cafe and was very happy with the food and service. Had Goat's Cheese Tart with Red Onion Chutney. Friends were pleased with their food also. We were lucky to see a couple just married getting photographs taken. Shop also had 20% off so got some gifts. Great day.

Sunday lunchtime . Art Deco house in the park. Last remaining building from the 1938 Glasgow Empire Expo. Didnt expect such lovely food. Great service. Would def try this place again. My glass had a chip out of it so was given 25% off the bill !

Loved our Christmas lunch very festive. Staff vwry attentive and pleasant.

Very accommodating despite there being lots of reservations for festive lunches, they still found a table for two for coffee and cake!

Fantastic food, lovely service and a great treat to show my friends and visitors when they come to Glasgow. It's really Michelin star food at affordable prices - but don't tell everyone (as it's busy enough already seven days a week ha!) I'd definitely recommend phoning to book a place beforehand as often functions and things and is good to know you will get a seat! Also lovely to go for a stroll in the gardens and Bellahouston Park before or after food. The one down side... They don't open to the public at night. (Ibrox sorely needs a decent evening restaurant still! :) But being open seven days a week in the daytime does me fine for now! :)) Thanks House for an Art Lover Cafe for being there!

On the ground floor of the house, there is a stylish cafe, with a view of the park from the semi-arched windows. We tested the 12.95 two-course menu, as well as a vegan salad and soup. All tasted good and the layout was okay, only the two-course main course steak/mushroom pie was average.

A hidden gem... great food and not mental prices. A fairly well kept secret... Great staff too imo.

Portion control is poor! I would say that Art nouveau has been taking into the kitchen in relation to excellent appearance on the plate but not substantial ! Can anyone advise why use tinned asparagus when fresh is in season and grown only a few miles away near to Glasgow Airport??? Came away feeling hungry again! For me to go back s revision of menu and portions would need to be done! It was certainly busy but I would suggest most people would feel as I did,! Other places offering better value for money! On the plus side excellent gift shop offering very good value for money gifts!! I think this restaurant cashing in on the fact it is House for an art lover but definitely needs improving!

A bit pretentious maybe -- the food looked impressive on the menu (it was very much an art gallery menu); it was pleasant enough but not gourmet. The staff seemed a bit confused and flustered at the ideas of customers just turning up and buying lunch. Maybe they're more used to catering to functions. A pleasant space, though perhaps it suffers in comparison to the Mackintosh house on top of it.

The building itself is stunning and in the middle of a beautiful park. The cafe is friendly and laid back and the food is also great.

This is where I come when I want to escape the city centre but don't have time for the full countryside experience. The setting is superb - provided there's not too much racket from the nearby ski slope. And the cafe itself is light and airy and a brilliant place for lunch. I really like their attitude, taking as much care over customers who have just come in for a cup of coffee those after as a full meal. Also it's a good place for vegetarians. Highly recommended.
