The best restaurants in Scotland

A good cafe for breakfast and lunches serving basic fare ( everything with chips !) and home baking. Open from 8.30 am until last food orders at 3 pm. I had a bacon and black pudding roll which contained a substantial slice of Stornoway black pudding. Waited 20 minutes for it despite the cafe being almost empty. The cafe has an outdoor deck with views over the sea and it is adjacent to the Kilbride campsite.It has free WiFi.

Had some disappointing coffee experiences, so my expectations were low. A pleasant surprise - this is the best flat white in Shetlands.

Excellent food and service at a reasonable price and the dog friendly bar is very homely. The staff were very accommodating our food requests to customise the menu options and were very friendly. High recommend!

What a wee gem! Lovely, friendly and welcoming, food nice and hot, freshly prepared, a great little find!! Just travelling through sadly but would definitely come again if we are by this way!

Went here with my wife on Sunday 6th October 24 after a visit to Kelso Races. The staff are ultra friendly & very chatty. The food is beautiful and I have to say the portion sizes of Chicken are the largest we’ve ever had. Prices are same as most other UK Indian Restaurants. All in all we would definitely recommend a visit to this lovely restaurant. I give this restaurant 99% out of 100%. The 1% bad thing is the fact that one of the Staff supports Man City. I made sure I cleaned my fork properly because I don’t want to catch Man City syndrome and end up being a City Fan. Thank you guys. We will be back.

Amazing staff, fantastic food, excellent choice of beers and outstanding cocktails. The music from their growing vinyl collection is always excellent. My abolute favourite pub in Glasgow.

Dropped in for a quick meal with the family, friendly welcome, nice and clean, lovely food and great prices too. Will be coming back again soon

We went there for dinner on Thursday night for our anniversary. When we had finished our two courses the waitress presented us with the bill even though we hadn't asked for it. She said take your time there is no rush. We were still drinking our wine when she appeared with the card machine even though we hadn't aksed. I was so taken aback that I just paid. I decided to compain about the way we were treated. I spoke to the manager who offered us a bottle of wine as compensation. The watress also added on a 10% service charge which she didn't deserve. She was rude and abrupt and seemed to single us out as she didn't do this to any of the other diners. I am appalled at the way we were treated.

I dropped by the pub to drink a pint of Tennent's. There are many Celtics fans.

Have been meaning to go here for sometime as we don’t live too far away. We were very impressed with the quality of food, I had a bacon cheeseburger and my wife had a tempura poke bowl. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. Staff were friendly and the pub was cosy and traditional, just the way we like it. Price was also very reasonable. Would definitely return.

My wife and I visited while in Melrose. We did not eat or have coffee but loved the selection of wines on offer, and left with an interesting bottle of Austrian red. Service was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. A brilliant find.

Got a single fish supper and top layer of chips were ok but chips underneath were awful as they had black bits through them looks like they had used damaged potatoes. Also the fish tasted bad had one bite and had to put rest of fish supper in bin and was up most of night ill and it was fish supper that caused it as it was only thing I ate that day. I've used lucky star in past but after that I won't be using them again I will be going elsewhere.
